Kahoot! stands with Ukraine

Kahoot! is committed to supporting Ukrainian educators and learners affected by the current crisis. To protect the integrity of our platform and our users, we will suspend offering Kahoot!’s services in Russia, with the exception of self-study.

the homework game

Ukrainian educators and learners need our support

We are deeply troubled and concerned by the violence and loss of life resulting from the Russian invasion of Ukraine. We stand with the people of Ukraine and we hope for the swiftest and most peaceful possible end to the current crisis.

Kahoot! has received a number of requests from schools and educators in Ukraine requesting the help of our services to continue teaching despite the disruption of the war. We have supported each of these and we are now offering Kahoot! EDU solutions for free for both K-12 and higher education institutions for one year to Ukrainian schools in need. In addition, we are fast-tracking translation and localization of the Kahoot! platform into Ukrainian.

Suspending commercial services and sales in Russia

Our commercial footprint in the Russian market is very limited. We do not have offices or representation in the country, nor do we have any physical operations or data services there. The overwhelming majority of our users in Russia are teachers and students using our free service.

Kahoot! is abiding by the international sanctions regime, and does not allow sales to sanctioned individuals or entities in Russia. Shortly after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Kahoot! initiated a process to suspend offering of all commercial services in Russia. This includes but is not limited to online sales, assisted sales, app store sales and prohibiting sales to Russian corporations and organizations.

Prioritizing safe and secure use of the Kahoot! platform

As part of our mission to make learning awesome, and as education remains a fundamental human right, we offer teachers, students and personal users free access to our platform. We do this in more than 200 countries and regions in a spirit similar to public commons services, such as Wikipedia.

Similarly, inclusivity is one of Kahoot!’s overarching values. As such, our aim is to, whenever and wherever possible, offer children, schools and others the opportunity to use digital tools for impactful education and learning, irrespective of their background or location. This has been our guiding principle also for offering our service in Russia.

Among our first responses to the crisis was to swiftly expand our global moderation team’s monitoring on all Russia-related content to safeguard the integrity of the platform.

However, as the situation continues to escalate, it is vital that we are able to ensure that our platform is used according to our own guidelines and standards. Therefore, in addition to suspending sales, we will be taking all possible and necessary steps to suspend access to Kahoot! services in Russia, with the eventual exception of self-study mode which will feature only content verified by Kahoot!.

This will enable students, school children and other individual users to continue their learning journeys both safely and responsibly. We will continue to assess ways in which our services can be offered safely and responsibly to support all learners and educators, also those based in Russia.

Supporting our employees

At Kahoot!, we are not just a team in name, we are a team in practice. As such, we are committed to the well-being of our employees, especially those with ties to Ukraine, or those that in other ways are particularly affected by the war. We are providing these colleagues with any support we can.

Acknowledging the current situation, the Kahoot! Group made an emergency aid donation to Save the Children and the Norwegian Refugee Council. This is a contribution to support life-saving assistance and protection for innocent Ukrainian children, families and refugees.

As the situation in Ukraine continues to develop our teams across the company are actively monitoring the crisis so that we can respond in the most responsible and supportive way possible.

Our hearts go out to the people of Ukraine, their loved ones, and anyone affected by this crisis.

The best games to play while doing homework

Idle games, clickers, and management games all make for perfect study buddies.

Spaceplan

You say you're just going to take a break from the school or work day to play "just one level" or "just one hour" of a favorite game. But before you know it, you've lost way more than just an hour.

Fortunately, not every game is designed to grab and hold your attention. These games won't keep you away from your homework—at least, not for long. These idle and management games are perfect to leave running in the background while you write a report or have up on your monitor while you hit the books. Even more handy, several of them are free!

Fallout Shelter

Fallout Shelter

Free | Management | Steam , Bethesda Launcher

Fallout Shelter puts you in the Overseer's chair to construct a vault room by room, organize expeditions into the Wasteland, and oversee the growth of your population. Vault dwellers have all the standard Fallout S.P.E.C.I.A.L stats, some of which make them better at producing resources like food and water and others that help them defend against rad roach and raider attacks.

Fallout Shelter is great for playing on the side while you work because it only requires a bit of attention every few minutes. In the early stages, you'll need to manually click on rooms that have finished producing food, water, and power to collect them. After completing a few achievements, you'll likely be able to earn a Mr. Handy unit, which will collect those resources automatically. Vaults do occasionally face emergencies like fires and deathclaw attacks, but the sirens are hard to ignore. If you've got your sound on or headphones in, you'll know when to look up and help your dwellers defend themselves.

When you really need a break, treat yourself to one of Fallout Shelter's quests, which are more hands-on than managing the vault. Most quests take a few hours for your dwellers to arrive at, but if you send them off early in the day, you'll be able to start one when you're ready and take a few minutes to guide them through several floors of enemies and loot.

Realm Grinder

Realm Grinder

 Free | Clicker | Steam , Browser

The biggest gaming news, reviews and hardware deals

Keep up to date with the most important stories and the best deals, as picked by the PC Gamer team.

Realm Grinder has as much theorycrafting as some MMOs I've played. If you want to get into that side of it, check out our Realm Grinder guide to get started and learn the lingo. There's plenty of number crunching if you want it, but don't let it scare you off. Like any clicker game, it's easy to get started. In Realm Grinder you start as the ruler in one of six factions each aligned with good or evil. The evil factions (goblins, demons, and undead) are most oriented towards an idle play style where you earn coins based on upgrades that you've bought instead of increasing the coins you earn per click.

Realm Grinder is a great studying game. Not only does it flex your arithmetic skills in calculating upgrades (if you want to get that deep) but it really doesn't require too much of your attention. The endgame for Realm Grinder can get pretty complex if you allow it, but if you just want to mess about and earn a few trophies, you don't need to read up on all the meta strats. The only danger is if you get too into it, you may end up doing speed runs instead of studying.

Spaceplan

Spaceplan

 $2.99 USD | Clicker | Steam

Spaceplan has what few other clicker games do: an ending. A great ending, even. You're lost in space on a potato-powered ship and the only way to find your way back to Earth is to make lots and lots of potatoes. With the help of your onboard AI, a GladOS and HAL 9000 lovechild called the Word Outputter, you'll make starchy creations to power your potato ship as you hop planets and universes on your way back home.

Like most clicker games, you'll spend a bit of time getting set up but Spaceplan quickly becomes a self-propelled machine that generates joules of potato power. Oh, and make sure to turn on the "scientifically accurate mode" which displays your power in joules instead of watts. You were paying attention in physics, right?

Have your sound on while playing Spaceplan because the low-key space soundtrack by Logan Gabriel is absolutely stellar. It's still my go-to concentration music even years later. It will probably take you about a week of casual check-ins to complete and if you enjoy the soundtrack along the way you'll likely love the groovy, cinematic ending.

 A Dark Room

A Dark Room

Free | Management | Browser

A Dark Room almost defies explanation and demands to be played firsthand. You start off by a dwindling fire and your only option is to stoke it so you won't freeze to death. Before long you run out of wood and need to gather more. Next you wind up building a hut, and then another, attracting more wanderers to your small, budding village. You don't know why you're tending this fire in what seems to be the apocalypse, but you keep taking care of your people, assigning them jobs, and building the village's resources. The story is sparse and vague, but I've been playing for weeks just to see what new vagabonds I can attract and technologies I can find.

Eventually, A Dark Room opens up after you obtain a compass and can leave the small village you've constructed. Like Fallout Shelter, you can go on expeditions in a Dwarf Fortress-like ascii art environment. Venturing further from the village, killing monsters, and finding new resources like iron mines and abandoned suburbs leads to further progress. After finding the right spread of villagers per job to stabilize the resources of wood, meat, and other necessities, it's easy to leave A Dark Room running for hours and come back later to investigate what new mysteries await.

Cookie Clicker

Cookie Clicker

Free | Clicker | Browser

Cookie Clicker is THE classic clicker game. It's still a browser game to this day even though it has developed a lot of pizzazz since 2013. There are animations and screen effects and lots of display options. At its heart though, Cookie Clicker is just about making cookies with milk. You recruit sweet grandmas, build cookie farms, cookie mines, and temples of cookie production.

The first upgrade you can spend cookies on is an automated clicker that does the cookie clicking for you, meaning you can go hands-off very quickly. Although Cookie Clicker has some of the same deep strategy elements as Realm Grinder by storing progress across multiple runs, it isn't nearly as intense. You can pull up Cookie Clicker in a browser while you write a paper and check in on it whenever you remember.

Blooket How To Guide

Blooket: An Easy “How To” Guide For Teachers

Blooket! If you’ve not heard of it by now, you’re missing out! Blooket is a fantastic game platform that enables teachers to create fun and interactive review activities and quizzes for the classroom and for online learning.

What Is Blooket And What Is It Used For?

Blooket is a gamified education platform that allows teachers to host quiz-style games that students participate in via their own device. Teachers can choose existing question sets or create their own. The existing quizzes are created by other teachers and shared on the platform, meaning there are literally thousands of pre-made games ready-to-go on a large variety of topics and subjects.

How To Sign Up To Blooket?

In order to use Blooket, the first thing you’re going to have to do is sign up. Luckily, this is super easy and absolutely free!

How To Use Blooket

Question sets.

Once you’ve signed up to Blooket, the next thing you need to do is to choose a question set to use in your quizzes. There are two options: you can create your own from scratch, or you can click on ‘Discover Sets’ to browse through a huge library of question sets made by other teachers.

Once you’ve given your question set a title and a description, it’s time to make the actual questions. Click on ‘ Manual ‘ and then on the next page choose ‘ Add Question ‘. You will then be prompted to type in your question and choose a picture for the question (optional). You must then type in up to 4 multiple choice answers and indicate the correct answer by checking the box next to the correct answer.

Hosting On Blooket

Choose one of the game modes and then click on the purple ‘ Host ‘ button on the right. You’ll then be given the option to set a time limit for the game. Once you’re ready, click on the ‘ Host Now ‘ button.

Joining A Game On Blooket

The game will continue until the time runs out or all the questions have been answered. At the end of the game, the ‘Host’ will be able to see how well each student performed. You can choose to keep the results private, or you can share them with the class and celebrate the winners.

Live Game Modes

There are currently 13 different live game modes to choose from. The ‘Classic’ game mode is a typical quiz format in which students answer questions and earn points to climb the leaderboard.

How To Assign Homework

Click on ‘ Assign Homework ‘ and then choose a HW game mode that you want students to play. The next page will give you options to change the homework title and the time in which students have to complete the task.

FunHomework

Here, student can do school Homework during gameplay

Turn student homework into a funny task using exciting digital games that can be customised according to school curriculum.

the homework game

What is FunHomework?

FunHomework is a game-based learning platform that makes exciting games more dynamic and customisable according to school curriculum. With the help of an authoring tool app, teachers will be able to integrate their own activities into games and make them available for their students.

Why FunHomework?

Most of learning games are not fully compatible with school curriculum and teacher’s objectives. Generally, they also do not provide any assessment or evaluation for student’s performance. FunHomework provides for teachers a simple and easy tool to manage students’ activities and evaluate their performance, and for students an encouraging learning environment to submit their homework/activities results.

How it works?

Funhomework in 3 simple steps.

The platform is intended to ease the adoption of games in classrooms, so getting FunHomework to work takes only 3 steps

the homework game

Create Homework Activity

The teacher uses TutorApp to create groups for students depending on their age/class or depending on the school subject. After that the teacher can create homework activity for students. Here, the individual questions of the activity that students need to solve are set. For each question, the ideal answers and mark weights should be provided in order to evaluate the task upon completion. In addition, a deadline for the activity can be set as well after which the homework will not be available for students.

the homework game

Play & Solve

For Students, they need first to join the group created by their teacher in order to receive the activities assigned for them. Then students can use the game to pick the homework activity created by their teacher. During gameplay the student is prompted to solve problems included in the activity, here, an answer to the question need to be provided in order to proceed. Upon completion, the final result will be displayed including right and wrong answers evaluated against ideal answers provided by the teacher. The result will then be sent back to TutorApp.

the homework game

Student Result

Once the student is done playing the game by solving activity problems, the result will be sent back to TutorApp. The teacher will receive a notification for each students try, and will be able to view students results individually. The result report contains the student answer for each of the activity questions, and the points he/she managed to collect depending on the rights answers and the time needed to complete the task. The report can then be exported to a PDF file to be printed and used for evaluation.

FunHomework is part of a PhD research at the University of Twente that intends to enhance the utilisation of serious games in formal education. The platform is a result of a continuing project that aims at easing the integration of games into everyday classroom practice by overcoming the obstacles that hinder teacher’s adoption of game-based learning.

Mohammad gained his Master’s degree in Computer Science from Amman Arab University in 2006. After that he worked for 6 years as a computer science lecturer at Al-Qassim University. Beside his research duites, Mohammad is currently working as an Android developer.

My name is Mohammad Assaf and I’m an external PhD researcher at the University of Twente – department of Industrial Engineering and Business Information Systems ( IEBIS ). My points of interest are serious games and game-based learning. In my research, I’m exploring innovative ideas that enhance the implementation of digital games in school environment. My passion about computer games drives me to explore the advantages that games can bring to education, and the valuable characteristics that can stimulate learners.

I beleive that the kids who grown up with the internet being a huge part of their lives are the most tech-savvy generation yet. This has greatly affected the way they learn in the classroom, therefore, instead of trying to separate kids from the technology that is such a huge part of their lives, we should learn to embrace high-tech methods of education, such as educational video games and game-based learning. By stepping away from the traditional lecture and teaching methods of decades past, teachers can allow their students to benefit from high-interest, interactive games to improve cognitive functions like memory and reasoning, and develop social and soft skills crucial for healthy social development.

FunHomework, culminates years of my research in this area that enables teachers to take advantage of the myriad constructive properties of games by facilitating their utilisation within formal settings.

Currently, only the Pencil Knight game is compatible with the TutorApp. As the TutorApp is using an open source API, more games will be added to the platform in the near futrue.

The platform is made for all school teachers who are interested in game-based learning. However, the currently available game Pencil Knight can be ideally used by students in the 3rd and 4th grades.

For any subject. Actually the idea behind FunHomework is to make games dynamic so that they are not tide to a specific subject. Becuase the teacher is the one who is controlling the eaducation content, he/she can decides for which subject the game will be used.

FunHomework is part of a PhD research and the apps are is available for free on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

FunHomework is part of a PhD research at the University of Twente and is subject to the data privacy regulations of the BMS faculty. The data is collected from users of FunHomework only for research proposes. The data will be completely anonymized and will not be shared with any other 3rd party.

English and Arabic. TutorApp has interfaces in both languages; English and Arabic. For Pencil Knight game, the interface is available currently only in English, but Arabic text is supported in the learning content. So activities and students’ answers can be provided in both languages.

Double Homework

' src=

A story about a guy undergoing a very tough time in his life, due to an incident that literally changed him forever. Fortunately, he lives together with two girls, and he focuses on trying to break the bad cycle he has fallen into.

the homework game

Double Homework is organized in episodes. Each episode is a stand-alone game, but all of them share the same data and keep your progress. The game is made using HTML5 and therefore it runs well on any platform with proper WebGL hardware acceleration support, including Windows, Mac, Linux and Android.

Supported browsers: Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.

Mobile support is currently in beta and issues can potentially appear. The only supported browsers for mobile is Chrome (Android). To get full screen, open the game, tap the options button of the browser (“…”) and select “Add to Homescreen”. This options is also available on iOS under the share icon (Safari). Due to limitations imposed by Apple, the game may not run well on iOS devices.

Important: do NOT minimize the game while playing on mobile, as your system may kill it and you will lose your progress. Make sure to save before you leave the game.

Please email any potential issues you might encounter to [email protected] or preferably on our Discord channel (bug-report section). Note that you might see a black window for a while until the game loads. Consider closing your other browser tabs before playing. If the game feels laggy on desktop computers,  make sure your system GPU drivers are up-do-date and that “hardware acceleration” is enabled in your browser settings.

Double Homework has a variable editor that allow players to easily change previous chapter’s choices. It is also useful in case of data lost.

your video is very funny 😂

muy buen juego

Omg ok I'll do my best to get my homework done!... I think I would have liked either a couple more scares or for the plot to have a bit more dialogue, the end feels quite sudden.

the game was totally infuriating to play and the ending wasnt that good since i had to read the text to even see what it was, very lame 2/10

Very unsettling and a couple decent scares! Anything sleep paralysis related I love! This was the 2nd game I played in this week’s 3 Scary Games!

Scary Scuffed Games #322

https://twitch.tv/DitoMido

Been recovering from a surgery and finding GOOD games on here that properly support controller as an input device isn't as easy as you'd think. Simple game with a cool unique look to it. Definitely gonna check more out by sodaraptor! Here's my playthrough if anyone's interested!

AMAZING work, I loved it so much, very scary :)

Love the game. need more like this!

10/10! i really enjoy the replayability while i speedrun this game! reminds my child gaming memories ^^

This game is well designed and I loved it!

I included it in my most recent indie horror game video!

amazing game loved it this reminds me of resident evil cam style

Very nice game, very original graphics

this game was stressin me out finding out there was ZERO checkpoints💀💀

Thank you for this game!

It was really cute, I just love this style of game.

Really caught me by surprise! Great work!

loved the gameplay. I had a blast!

This game was INCREDIBLE!!! All the details down to the sound effects took me right back to the PS1/PS2 era! Please keep making games!!! :D

I LOVE IT OMG THE LOW POLY GRAPHICS ARE AMAZING :000000

This was a fantastic experience

short and sweet :)

This was really good! The vibes are very cool and tense

I loved the art style, sound design, and general vibe of this whole game and I really hope to see more added onto it in the future. Leaning more into survival mechanics with a wider variety of things to do, this has a lot of potential! A great game and fully deserving of its Jam win.

super creepy atmospehre love ur game

I'm a huge fan of the style of your games, Planning on making some games in a similar style. Followed and excited to try out the rest of your games.

Interested to see what you make, your current games look great!

this game was such a joy and such a well pace game! just took me a while cause my brain is sorta smooth

I loved it! Scary af ^-^

Superb aesthetics, but kinda buggy. Wacky control scheme on a PS4 pad.

Very well made and I fw the aesthetic! Tap in to the vid hehe

It took me 40 minutes... i hated it. Game is fine, I just hate my cowardice.

This game exceeded my expectations. I'm not a fan of being chased so this game nailed making me scared for my life :)

Got a 6:30 time on my first timer mode attempt (mapless :))

Really fun, short little horror game. I love the art style, the cute character contrasts with otherwise quite gross and creepy environment nicely. There's quite a bit of personality packed into this small game, even just in the loading screen and menu.

The presence of the monster provided tension, however I almost felt too safe since you're only in danger in the hall and there's not many spots where you can't just dip into a room/shortcut. It's mostly just a nuisance (especially in the timer mode).

5/5 for a short free game.

I really loved this game and it gave me major "obscure" (the ps2 game) vibes, the whole school aesthetic and the monster on the halls looked very similar to one of the monsters in "obsucre". Over all I really enjoyed it! x

Loved this game, was everything I loved from the PS1 classics. Gave me major vibes of "Fear the spotlight" :D I gave my review at the end of my video if you wanna check it out. It was super fun and will be keeping an eye out for the developer

This was really fun! Well done.

Really enjoyed the "retro" horror feel of this game, tank controls with controller support and all! It felt right. Very unsettling making your way through this school at night..

How do you get in the girls bathoorm? I've seen videos of people getting inside but it's locked for me. I'm missing one page.

in the boys bathroom , when you look in the mirror, theres a code which unlocks a room in the janitors closet. if you explore further back in that room theres the key to the girls bathroom.

Thanks! Must be an update, because from the same videos, they enter the girl's bathroom long before entering the boys bathroom :/

Very awesome little horror game! I enjoyed being able to use my controller and how it was like resident evil games with the fixed camera angles!

Great game! The sound design was great, with the whispers being very efective and terrifying. The graphics are very good and really capture the early Playstation horror game vibe, also really nice that there are options to change the graphics quality, without losing much fidelity. Short and effective horror game 9.5/10
