Been a research assistant 1 for 6 months. is that too early to quit.

Hey y'all. Need some advice. I've been working at this lab as an RA1 for about 6 months. The boss is just super chill and the nicest guy. My coworkers are so amazing also. They don't yell at me and are super patient. None of them expect me to do more than 40 hours and even let me clock in from home if I still have more hours to finish on Friday. They're like my only friends at this point 🙃. So I just feel bad about quitting and making them upset and annoyed. The reason im quitting is because I'm in the process of applying to medical school. I have to prepare all my essays(applying to 60+ schools and need to pre-write a TON of essays) and take the MCAT at the end of June(and do well on it obviously). This is a full time RA1 position, so im working 40 hours a week and commuting 2-3 hours total. And im not even exercising anymore because im struggling to juggle all this. And its just worsening my mental health. My MCAT and essays are the most important thing on my app and I can't skimp on that. But if I quit after 6 months, I might burn some bridges at this company, lose a LOR from my PI, and possibly miss out on more pubs that can add value to my medical school apps. But MCAT/GPA are king in the medical school apps process. What do I do guys? Will this affect me if I want another job at this company(I was planning on looking for clinical research jobs at this hospital after my MCAT)? I'm just lost and would really love some advice.

Edit: And FYI, I will say that I don't need the job to put food on my plate or anything. I recently graduated and im only 22 and living with my parents. My parents said they are willing to support me if I am working on my med school apps and not goofing off.

Research assistant (2 positions) – six months contract, introduction, responsibilities.

• Organize all aspects of data extraction from Medical Records
• Code extracted data and provided regular reports 
• Ensure that data collection materials and accessories are safeguarded
• Track and maintain relevant systems to ensure study timelines are met
• These are initial responsibilities and deliverables may evolve during study implementation hence other related responsibilities may be assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant health discipline, Public Health, Psychology, Sociology, Biology, Nursing, Social work or equivalent. 
• At least one years’ experience in research data collection/extraction preferably in university/research Institution setting
• Educational or experiential knowledge of data cleaning and analysis
• Knowledge and skills of handling quantitative and qualitative data including Medical Records
• Certificate in Protection of Human Research Subjects and Good Clinical Practice will be an added advantage
• Excellent inter-personal relationship with ability to work well with colleagues and full spectrum of academic staff from trainees to senior faculty members and researchers, located in different geographic zones
