I consider myself one of the luckiest people on earth, because I was fortunate enough to enjoy a mother’s love and still do to this day. The worst thing that can ever happen to a person is not to experience what it feels to be loved by his/her mother.

A mother’s love can never be expressed with words, it can only be felt and it is the most beautiful thing on earth. If God’s love is at the pinnacle, then a mother’s love to her child is slightly below it, if not next to it. Even though I grow old by the passing second, to my mother I will forever be her little girl.

My mother is the most important person in my life. My mother and I have this special bond together that I’m sure exists between mothers and their children all over the world. I cannot explain it, but when she is around I feel safe and happy.

This is because my mother is very sincere and trustworthy. Never once in my life have I ever heard my mother tell a lie, without a concrete reason as to why she said it. The only time she told us a lie was to make us feel good whenever we were sad. The worst thing to my mother was seeing us sad and she would do whatever was in her power to see us happy again.

Another great trait of my mother is that she is naturally friendly and welcoming. People are always attracted to her positive vibe and jovial nature. She does not fake smiles or try to impress people for the wrong reasons. If she likes you, she will go out of her way to make you feel special. Rarely does she get into altercations and if she does, it means that she has really been offended and the person responsible will get a piece of her mind.

She is very slow to anger however. Even if she is angered, she is mature enough to control her tongue. Because, as she always reminds us, words hurt people and once released they can never be swallowed back.

My mother is also very generous. This generosity is not just expended to her children, she extends a helping hand to anyone who needs it. She is the type that will use the right hand to help you, without the left hand knowing. She does not help people publicly for the whole world to see, she does it from the heart, without expecting anything in return.

Coming from a humble background, she understands what it feels like to go hungry and she will do anything to assist everyone, including strangers. Although she will probably be offended that I revealed this, but my mother organizes meals for the less fortunate during Christmas and Thanksgiving holidays.

Furthermore, she is very hardworking. Like I mentioned earlier, my mum didn’t come from a well to do family. She had to work her way up, through sheer will and hard work. Not only that, she had to balance between working and raising a family. Being a housewife was never a thing for her, she felt that it was her responsibility to help dad bring the bacon home. She had to wake up very early, prepare breakfast for us and then drop us to school. In the midst of all these strenuous activities, she still had extra time to be ready for work.

In the evenings she would come pick us up from school, prepare dinner, help us with our assignments and then ensure that we slept well. She did all these chores over and over again, without complaining once. In fact she would get offended if we did something without her. Even in sickness, she still woke up to prepare meals for us.

My mum is a person you can rely on. If she says she will do something, be rest assured that she is going to do it. There are no shortcuts to her when she promises something and she will follow everything to the letter. The only problem is that she expects the same loyalty from people. If you promise her something, make effort to do it or else you will land on her bad side. She loves the truth, no matter how disheartening it may be. She dislikes liars and people with sweet tongues, who will say anything to impress you. I don’t know how she does it, but she can smell a dishonest person from a mile away.

She is also a great counselor. She is a good listener and will lend you her ear for as long as you need it, without judging you. Then, using her profound wisdom she will advise you on the best way to approach a problem. This is the main reason she is my best friend. She is so easy to talk to. The age difference is not an issue for us and we can talk for hours without getting tired. Our long tradition of talking did not stop when I moved out. We still talk on a daily basis on the phone and even though she is old now, she still maintains the same enthusiasm she had when she was young.

Mother is also very fair and just. She has never favored any child over the other. She treats all of us equally. Rewards are measured by ones achievements and her punishments are equally measured by one’s mistakes- in short, you get what you deserve. She never pitied one child over the other and in case of an argument, she would listen keenly to both sides before making sound judgment.

She stressed on the importance of sticking together as a family. She hated when we fought as siblings and she would discipline us thoroughly, even if it broke her heart. I believe she played an important role of keeping us united even in adulthood. But most importantly, she ensures the whole family gets together every holidays.

If there is one thing that I will forever remember my mother for is her good cooking. I know this sounds absurd, but if it were possible then my mother would be in the Mount Rushmore of cooks. That is how great she is. My sisters and I have tried to get some cooking tips from her, but somehow we always run short of her abilities. Just to give you a perspective of how good her cooking was, we used to spend most of our evenings in the kitchen with mum, as she cooked.

We were not like the other kids, who would lock themselves in their rooms or stay in the living room watching television. We had to be where the action was. Furthermore, it was highly unlikely that we would be in the living room with all the aroma in the kitchen.

If I remember right, our memorable moments were in the kitchen. We would sing, dance, make jokes and tell stories. My mother also stressed on the importance of taking meals together as a family. More times than not, we would wait for dad until he came home from work before we could eat. When he was running late however, mother would sit with us as we ate, but not her. She would wait for dad to eat with him. Another special thing about her is that she is very religious and pious.

Prayer is part and parcel of her life and she still prays today. Born and raised a catholic, my mum ensured Sunday devotion was mandatory for all of us. She would pray in the morning, at dinner time and before she slept. It was also mandatory for her to fast and go for lengthy prayers when she wanted to make an important decision in her life. Now that we are not around, she has made it her duty to call us every Sunday morning to wake us up to go to mass.

Moreover, she is very funny. She can easily pass across as a comedian. She used to keep us entertained every evening with funny stories in the kitchen. And it seems like she always has a reference story for any occasion or incident. I think this is the reason she is a great counsellor. People say I inherited her sense of humor and charm. I don’t know if that is true, but I feel really good when people compare me to her.

The fact that our second born came four years after me, meant that me and mum spent a lot of time together. Maybe that explains why I resemble her in many aspects, but the truth of the matter is that I will always run short of her charm no matter how much I try to be like her.

I will forever be grateful to God for giving me such a wonderful mother. She is my role model and I will mold my life to be like hers. In my eyes, she is the embodiment of perfect motherhood and she is the standard that I will forever strive to achieve. I want my kids to look at me, as I look at my mother- with love and admiration. May you live to see all your great grandchildren mother. I love you so much.

Review: I Wanna Fuck my Mom’s Best Friend

I’ve been cooking up a few reviews these past weeks, but Cherry Kiss Games sent me a surprise key for an early access review of the game they’ve been teasing us readers with. Since this is a new release, I decided to prioritize it, although you can play it now on Steam !

The nukige fans may already know the name, but Cherry Kiss Games is the publisher behind this title, as well as many others I’m reviewing. They have released various Miel and Norn titles throughout the years, starting in 2016 with Wild Romance by Norn and Miel’s Master of the Harem Guild in 2018. With a well-established track record of publishing under their niche, they’ve even managed to get a hold of an Orcsoft work—the very same title we’re reviewing today!

I Wanna Fuck my Mom’s Best Friend starts with a pretty normal setting: you are Naoki, a young teen who lives with his mom, Arisa. She has a best friend, Shiori, and they are pretty much inseparable, to the point of living next to each other—you included, of course. What Shiori doesn’t know is that you’ve always had a huge crush on her, and now that you’ve sexually awoken, you can’t not look at her with lewd eyes… but of course, she’s out of your league, as she pretty much sees you as her son.

Your summer vacations are about to start, and since your mom is having a work trip for a few days, you’re about to make the most of it… by jerking off as much as you can, of course! You get to it, but Shiori caughts you in the act. Uh-oh, it’s all over… or is it?

Thoughts on the Story

For a nukige, we do actually have a phew chapters without any H-Scene action—the introduction, that is. In fact, the game averages 8~9 hours of reading, which is double the time I’m used to, let alone for a single heroine title.

We get to know Shiori right from the get-go in Chapter 2. She looks and acts like a mix of tomboy and delinquent with her short hair and rough treatment, but the artist made a wonderful job at accentuating her curves and ass, just like her boobs. Although the conversations between our MC and Shiori sound natural and casual, this character design choice only motivates Naoki’s lewdest thoughts.

That being said, although Arisa—Naoki’s mother—also has a similar design, you don’t sleep with her, no. The way they were behaving during the first chapters, I wouldn’t be surprised if we got a threesome, but this is a solo heroine title, all focused on Shiori. There’s another Orcsoft title with the same setting that focuses on Arisa instead, so let’s hope Cherry Kiss Games can publish that one soon!

This nukige can be divided into two acts: the first few days without Arisa around, and the aftermath. While the first act is pretty much all H-Scenes with a few minutes of pause, the second act takes longer to get down to business. That’s because that’s where most of the plot and conflict takes place—the time for Naoki to take hold of his future before that door is closed forever.

As you may be guessing, this VN does have endings, depending on one single choice late into the game. It’s on the reader and their tastes to decide which ending is better, but I personally found strong pros to each one. In one of them, I found the H-Scenes much hotter; in the other, I enjoyed the outcome more.

Art and Music

One issue I’m having with a lot of Miel titles is that although the visuals are pretty up there, the OST is the complete opposite. This being Orcsoft and not Miel, I thought it would be different, but the two soundtracks for the H-Scenes managed to be one of the worst things I’ve heard. It sounds like we’re at a techno rave instead of finally fucking our crush. Maybe it was meant to represent the horny adrenaline, but it only gave me a headache after a while.

The visuals, on the other hand, are great. The sprite work is very good, although this is for the big badonkers design. This anatomy is even more explicit in the H-Scenes (pun intended), and I don’t mean this as a good thing. This may appeal to some readers, but the way Sunagawa Tara draws body parts and muscles in this feels like a Frankenstein abomination. I do think that for some H-Scenes it may be an issue in perspective, as few of them are fine. Having said that, the lighting and coloring are 10/10; they excel at emphasizing how plump and delicious her ass and boobs are, and the softness of her skin.

Adult Content

Speaking of the H-Scenes: if you like wholesome, gentle sex, this isn’t for you. Most scenes feature rough sex, even if the MC is considerate and plays it safe. At some point, you even have slapping and bondage to add to the fun.

We also have some other things happening, such as a sort of corruption and, most importantly, NTR from the dead. It’s exactly what I mean: Naoki is competing with Shiori’s memories of her late husband, with a crazier way of making her move on. If you want to know, just read it!

The scenes themselves are pretty hot and porny (to a fault, even), but I do have one major complaint. It may be a ‘me’ thing, but I think most scenes outstayed their welcome. Naoki may be able to have fun for that long, but I know most readers are only human (and not a cumming machine, honestly.) If anything, I wouldn’t recommend reading it all in one sitting.

As much as it pains me to say, the early release is infested with typos and technical issues, from wrong name tags, to missing H-Scenes variations. I hope this has been fixed already, because having a black screen for the first variation of each H-Scene CG is not a good thing, especially for nukige.

This is a minor one, but if you prefer playing with a 4:3 resolution, you’ll have your quick options on the bottom of the screen partially cut. This may not be too annoying as I can just go to the menu screen, but it still looks janky.

This appears to be an eagerly awaited title, and I can see why. I don’t think I was 100% the target audience but I still very much enjoyed it.

Overall, I’ll give this a 3/5 score! This only means it wasn’t an outstanding read, but it achieved its purpose—how much you enjoy it will be up to you and your personal tastes.

The 28-year-old released his fifth studio album  “The Great American Bar Scene”  on Independence Day this year.

Clocking in at 63 minutes — yet never even coming close to wearing out its welcome — the earnest, warts-and-all singer delivers more of his no-frills, middle-American poetry that celebrates life’s small pleasures and devastating heartbreaks.

After a few plays, our team fell in love with the spoken word, chills-inducing lead track “Lucky Enough (Poem)” as well as the harmonica-heavy “The Great American Bar Scene” and rousing Springsteen-esque “American Nights.”

The show-stopping “Oak Island,” twinkly “Bass Boat” and the Springsteen duet “Sandpaper” also stand out.

However, “Towers,” a hair-raising gospel tune, towers above the rest of the album. Fingers crossed, it becomes a tour staple complete with a choir.

Like Harris, my wife is a stepmother to my son.

I am no longer in a relationship with his father and have been in a new relationship for four years. My wife came into my son's life when he was 6 years old and quickly stepped into a parental role. It was a role she enthusiastically took on.

Although she didn't give birth to my son, my wife is absolutely his second mother.

My son and wife's relationship started friendly

My wife didn't immediately take an authoritative role or force him to treat her like a parent. At first, she was more like a grown-up friend — someone he knew he needed to respect, but someone who would take him on drives to get ice cream or let him pretend to drive her car while I was inside the grocery store.

I was worried about parenting with another person all the time. As the primary parent, I wasn't used to dividing parenting duties . My wife was aware of that and always deferred to me as the primary parent.

But the bond between my son and my wife was instant. He had never met someone I was dating before, but he liked her immediately.

My wife has taken on more responsibility as a stepmom

Over the last four years, she's taken on more parental responsibility but never tried to act like she was more of a parent than myself or my son's father. She is a bonus mom, someone there to kiss him goodnight , help him with his homework, and love him unconditionally.

During the pandemic, my wife volunteered to take the lead in helping my son with virtual school so I could focus on work. She created a schedule for him, made him lunch, and ensured he kept up with assignments. When the playgrounds opened, she would take him to play, armed with a backpack full of whatever was needed.

I have gone on several overnight trips , leaving the two of them alone together. My son doesn't even call or text me when I'm gone because he's having so much fun hanging out with my wife. I never have to worry about him; I know my wife will make sure he takes a bath and goes to bed on time.

There are days when I will ask her to tag in and do the bedtime routine because I'm working or want a break, and she does it without question. My son knows that if he needs something, he doesn't have to come to me all the time.

Seeing my wife willingly step into a parental role with my son has strengthened our relationship. I knew I loved her almost immediately after we met, but seeing how my son responded to her made me more secure in my decision.

Sometimes, she still refers to him as mine, and I always remind her that she's his mom, too. We do everything as a team: school meetings, performances, birthday parties . Everyone knows us as his two moms, and there's no one else I could imagine doing this with.

My son now sees my wife as the missing piece to our family puzzle. He proudly claims her as his other mom.

"You're my mom too," my son will say when my wife calls herself his stepmom. He made that decision. My wife never wanted to force a close relationship on him, but he pushed for it.

Media has warped the perception of stepmoms

Popular media depictions of stepmoms are largely negative. The common trope is that they're evil.

For example, you have characters like Meredith Blake in the Lindsay Lohan version of "The Parent Trap," the Baroness von Schraeder in " The Sound of Music ," and, of course, the prototype: Cinderella's Evil Stepmother.

These women are always seen as temptresses who come in and seduce the father into marrying them before revealing they intend to get rid of his daughter so that she will be the only woman in his life.

Maybe there are stepmoms out there who fit this description, but by and large, stepmoms are there to be whoever their step kids want them to be.

I know that's exactly the role my wife plays, and my son and I are all the more lucky for it.
