How to Choose a Great Presentation Topic in 5 Steps
120 presentation topic ideas, 5 presentation tips.
![top 5 presentation ideas How to Choose a Great Presentation Topic. Be novel. Begin with the end in mind.](https://blog.hubspot.com/hubfs/Google%20Drive%20Integration/presentation%20topics_52023-1.png)
4. Choose an appropriate presentation style.
There are many ways to present a topic. Your personality, the topic at hand, and your audience’s personas will help you determine which style would best fit you and your audience.
Select a presentation style that will communicate the main idea clearly and have a lasting impact on your audience.
For instance, explore a freeform style presenter by Sir Ken Robinson.
5. Engage with your audience.
Work on your presentation skills to make a strong connection with your audience, get through to them and leave a mark.
Think of the presenter as the link between the topic and the audience. A strong or a weak presenter can make a difference between a presentation being a thriving success or a boring failure.
Hone your skills by engaging and interacting with your audience. Make them feel like a part of the presentation and not just spectators. 70% of marketers have found presentations with interactive content to be more effective than those without.
Here are a few ways you can make your presentation interactive:
- Start your speech with uncommon questions to your audience. Involve them from the get-go, like ask to raise their hands if X.
- Make eye contact to build credibility and show confidence. Don’t stare at your slides or notes. Smile occasionally and talk to the audience directly.
- Have an active and confident body language. Don’t stand in the same place the entire time. Move around the stage.
- Don’t be monotonous. Speak as you would to a colleague — with enthusiasm.
- Ask close-ended questions in between to keep the audience engaged without losing time. Address them using their names to keep things interesting.
- Share personal experiences and stories that your audience will find fascinating and relatable.
- Practice thoroughly before you present so you’re fluent with the material and delivery.
- Energy and excitement can be quite contagious. Make sure you exude enough to spread some to your audience.
Feeling Inspired Yet?
Now you have all the right ingredients for choosing amazing topics and a hundred ideas to drive inspiration from. So, go ahead and start cooking presentations that will blow your audience away.
Don’t forget to choose a super-relevant topic and add meaty information. Do it with excitement to make it enjoyable for you and your audience. Best of luck!

![top 5 presentation ideas Chart outlining the "hero's journey" story structure](https://penji.co/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/storytelling-presentation-ideas.jpg)
A fantastic presentation carries its audience through a journey. Consider your key message as the driving force that propels the audience through the storyline of your presentation. You can deconstruct it as follows:
- The current situation : Where are we now?
- The transition : What’s changing?
- The future : What’s on the horizon?
- The conclusion : Where will we ultimately land?
Especially in a business setting, you want your PowerPoint design to be simple, stylish, and inviting. Minimalism can be a great way to give your presentation slides a professional look without sacrificing style. A simple backdrop also helps important facts and figures stand out.

As you’re designing your presentation, remember to use colors that complement each other. Is your company’s color pale green? Combine it with an equally pale pink. To get more in-depth, there are plenty of tools online like Coolors that help you make full color palettes.
![top 5 presentation ideas Black and white real estate presentation design with splashes of red](https://penji.co/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/black-and-white-presentation-ideas.jpg)
On the other end of the spectrum (no pun intended), sometimes one color is all you need. For a more minimal presentation, a black and white aesthetic with a single accent color can really stand out. You can use that color to emphasize key facts and figures, because the audience is already drawn to it.
![top 5 presentation ideas Music themed slideshow template](https://penji.co/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/music-presentation-ideas.jpg)
Want to take your presentation up a notch from mere static slides? Harness the power of musical cues – a swift and engaging strategy. While incorporating music into slideshows can sometimes lead to technical hitches, mastering the technique can yield remarkable audience engagement.
![top 5 presentation ideas PowerPoint slide question template](https://penji.co/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/questions-presentation-ideas.jpg)
“How do I engage my audience?” Have you tried talking to them? Question and answer sections can be a great tool for team-building presentations, and they can turn potential buyers into engaged participants.
Try creating questions that will feed into your point. Rather than saying “You need ___,” ask your audience what they need and bring it back around to your product or service.
![top 5 presentation ideas Infographic design for presentation ideas](https://penji.co/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/data-visualization-presentation-ideas.jpg)
Data visualization is a key part of any presentation (okay, most presentations). Looking for presentation ideas to make your data pop? Don’t settle for basic charts.
Highlight key figures with bold fonts and colors. Use imagery that conveys what your data means. It’s easy to zone out in a meeting—it’s up to you to visualize data in a way people can’t ignore.
![top 5 presentation ideas Avatar: The Last Airbender themed presentation ideas](https://penji.co/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/pop-culture-presentation-ideas.jpg)
Whether you’re guiding a team meeting or captivating customers, pop culture references can pique interest and bridge gaps. Even in formal presentations, a quick pop culture nod can foster connection. But always consider your audience—avoid references that might leave them puzzled.
![top 5 presentation ideas Canva Google Slides template pairing different fonts](https://penji.co/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/font-pairing-presentation-ideas.jpg)
A common error among novices in presentation design is sticking to a single font. To maintain visual interest, embrace diversity. Experiment with eye-catching fonts for titles, complemented by polished sans-serif fonts for body text. Further enhance variety with distinct weights, styles, and colors for various text elements.
![top 5 presentation ideas Presentation template with a money tree visual metaphor](https://penji.co/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/visual-metaphor-presentation-ideas.jpg)
Ideally, everyone would pay attention to you. But since you can’t account for that, you want your audience to understand the ideas behind your presentation no matter how much attention they’re paying. On top of emphasizing key data and words, visual metaphors are a great way to ensure that even the least attentive listeners are getting the gist of it.
![top 5 presentation ideas Presentation idea with hexagonal image frames](https://penji.co/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/frames-presentation-ideas.jpg)
Is your presentation appearing outdated, confined, and lacking in dynamism? The reason might be your fixation on squares and rectangles.
Incorporating distinctive image frames isn’t just visually appealing; they also expand your slide’s spatial dimension. By steering clear of rigid squares and borders and opting for circles, hexagons, and other shapes, you create a sensation of suspended freedom.
![top 5 presentation ideas Presentation animation options menu in PowerPoint](https://penji.co/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/transition-presentation-ideas.jpg)
One of the classic marks of a middle schooler’s first PowerPoint: every transition under the sun. Using different transitions for each slide will make your presentation feel amateur. Instead, stick to one style of transition, or make your use of transitions thematically consistent (e.g. moving in the same direction).
![top 5 presentation ideas Free PowerPoint template with one moving slide concept](https://penji.co/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/one-slide-presentation-ideas.jpg)
This is an advanced transition technique for all you presentation design pros out there. Elevate your slideshow by giving it the sense of a literal living document. You can create a flipbook or folder motif (as in the example above) or create a scrolling graphic format. If nothing else, you can mesh transitions and design to make each slide seamlessly morph into the next.
![top 5 presentation ideas Colorful quote slide concept for presentations](https://penji.co/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/quote-presentation-ideas.jpg)
Whether you’re getting a point across or just trying to inspire your audience, a quote is a great addition to any presentation. Quotes by experts can help lend your point some authority. Meaningful quotes can open up the floor to discussions. Funny or inspirational quotes can provide some levity without sacrificing professionalism.
![top 5 presentation ideas 20th century history themed PowerPoint design](https://penji.co/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/history-presentation-ideas.jpg)
Much like references to pop culture, integrating historical elements into your presentation provides a shared language with your audience. Like the alien species from the Star Trek episode “Darmok,” incorporating historical moments can resonate deeply with your audience. For instance, if you’re aiming to evoke a sense of romance, a backdrop inspired by Shakespearean times could be remarkably effective.
![top 5 presentation ideas Colorful activities slideshow ideas](https://penji.co/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/activity-presentation-ideas.jpg)
First of all, yes, a presentation is a great idea for facilitating a group game in a classroom or office setting. But believe it or not, any presentation can benefit from capturing the audience’s attention through activities.
For team-building presentations, build trust and relationships through simple games. For pitches, create space to “test out” your product or service. The possibilities are endless.
![top 5 presentation ideas Halloween themed PowerPoint title slide](https://penji.co/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/seasonal-presentation-ideas.jpg)
Pop culture references can ensure your presentation is current, but depending on your audience, you may have to avoid being too current. Seasonal themes, on the other hand, keep you timely no matter who you’re presenting to. You can go all in on a theme, like the Halloween example above, or incorporate subtle elements for a more corporate presentation.
![top 5 presentation ideas Futuristic purple esports presentation ideas](https://penji.co/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/futuristic-presentation-ideas.jpg)
In the business world, particularly in the tech sector, projecting a cutting-edge image is paramount. When presenting a novel product, service, or strategy, it’s crucial that your audience perceives you as a forward-thinking entity.
That’s where a futuristic design can help. Implement sleek shapes, dark colors, and interactive elements to make your presentation futuristic. Sometimes, it’s as simple as adding images of modern tech products.
![top 5 presentation ideas Modern PowerPoint design from Envato](https://penji.co/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/modern-presentation-ideas.jpg)
Futurism has its place, but if you want to convey a cutting-edge feel in a more subtle way, a modern, artistic presentation design is the way to go. Unique shapes and color combinations—as well as bold, sans serif fonts—can help your slides look effortful and fresh. You can work with an expert designer or design service to really make your presentation unique.
![top 5 presentation ideas Presentation idea with 3D graphics](https://penji.co/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/3d-presentation-ideas.jpg)
3D illustrations are relatively novel, and even freely available models are underused in presentations. Even in 2022, they still convey a sense of novelty, whether they’re playful, artistic, or scientific. On top of lending flair to your slides, they can also be great for visualizing data in informative presentations.
![top 5 presentation ideas Lighthouse themed slideshow design by 24Slides](https://penji.co/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/motif-presentation-ideas.jpg)
Elevate your presentation to a masterpiece with a well-chosen motif. Delve into your key presentation points and the emotions you aim to stir.
For instance, a lighthouse motif can symbolize navigating challenges or pioneering innovative solutions. Meanwhile, a whimsical animal theme can evoke a sense of coziness and tranquility. Embrace creativity, while ensuring meaningful content takes the lead.
![top 5 presentation ideas Hiyya logo design PowerPoint concept](https://penji.co/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/logo-presentation-ideas-1.jpg)
A presentation can be a great way to propose a new logo design , but your logo is a great fit for any type of presentation. For pitches, they make your brand look professional. For internal meetings, they help make it feel official, boosting engagement from your audience. Design your slides to make room for your logo and try to balance colors and fonts to fit your brand.
![top 5 presentation ideas Color coded presentation ideas](https://penji.co/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/color-coded-presentation-ideas.jpg)
While we’ve emphasized the importance of a central theme in your presentation, it’s also true that many presentations encompass various topics or subcategories within the overarching theme. Employing diverse colors to mirror distinct subjects or slide types can infuse your presentation with nuanced depth.
GIFs have become a crucial part of the online ecosystem. However you pronounce it (team “jif,” for the record), a GIF is a casual, effective way to evoke emotion, humor, or otherwise build a relationship with your audience. There’s a reason Twitter is overrun with these things; there’s a GIF for every occasion.
![top 5 presentation ideas Title slide for an outer space presentation idea](https://penji.co/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/space-presentation-ideas.jpg)
Space is one of the most versatile themes to use in a presentation design . Where a futuristic slideshow places you on the cutting edge, space creates the impression that your ambitions go even bigger. Whether you’re trying to pump up your coworkers or attract new clients, placing your presentation in the final frontier is bound to inspire them.
![top 5 presentation ideas Two memes involving presentations](https://penji.co/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/funny-presentation-memes.png)
While certain presentations are all business, remember that public speaking often centers around forging a connection with your audience. A surefire approach to achieve this is by strategically incorporating a meme or a clever punchline.
Yes, it’s true that meme culture travels fast, and it can be hard to tell what will still be fresh when you’re presenting. But if there’s one place where you can get away with an old-school, impact-font -over-JPEG meme in 2022, it’s in a business presentation.
![top 5 presentation ideas Presentation design based on Twitter layout](https://penji.co/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/social-media-presentation-ideas.jpg)
Here’s an out-of-the-box idea: what design layout are people most familiar with today? Chances are, a format inspired by social media is one of the best ways to make your audience feel at home. This is best for a presentation where social media is relevant, but it can also serve a similar function to memes, creating a fun dynamic with your audience. Your slide text shouldn’t be longer than a tweet, anyway.
We’ve already gone over transitions, the animations taking you from one slide to the next. But that doesn’t have to be the only animated thing about your presentation. Motion graphics can help each slide come alive, as well as emphasizing key facts and helping visualize data. Just try not to make the graphics too distracting.
![top 5 presentation ideas File cabinet themed interactive presentation design from SlidesGo](https://penji.co/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/interactive-presentation-ideas.jpg)
Ever sat through dull vacation photos? Well, a lackluster presentation can feel the same. To truly involve your audience, interactive elements are a must.
Think animations and clickable transitions or even a lighthearted quiz. It’s all about sparking engagement.
![top 5 presentation ideas Stylish slideshow design with black and white photo overlays](https://penji.co/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/photo-overlay-presentation-ideas.jpg)
Maybe you’re showcasing your photography work. Maybe you’re presenting a product with a series of photos. You might just be using stock photos to illustrate your point.
Either way, most presentations will involve at least a few photos. If you want a slick, artistic look, you can use color overlays and filters to make these photos part of your slides’ aesthetic. Use complementary colors and keep them consistent for each photo you put in, or go black and white for a luxury look.
![top 5 presentation ideas Inspirational PowerPoint design with alternating slides](https://penji.co/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/alternate-format-presentation-ideas.jpg)
Here’s a common rookie blunder, and it’s easy to overlook. Even with a striking design and captivating content, if you sense something’s amiss, your presentation could be too monotonous.
To infuse dynamism, mix up slide formats, particularly for text-heavy ones. Just shifting text from left to right can work wonders. It’s a vital trick to keep your audience engrossed.
![top 5 presentation ideas Penji presentation idea with red and white cycling theme](https://penji.co/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/penji-presentation-ideas-2.jpg)
These presentation ideas are all about shaping a presentation that delivers real results. But if you’re aiming to craft a truly impactful PowerPoint, you might not want to go the DIY route. Presentations are means to communicate ideas, explain concepts, and pass on knowledge in the form of slides. They are used in meetings and classrooms, and information is typically passed via text, graphics, and audio delivery.
Presentations can be long or short, depending on their purpose and the intended audience.
In general terms, an effective presentation should have several points:
- A strong opening statement that draws the audience's attention
- An informative introduction that provides context for the rest of the presentation
- A clear focus on presenting information attractively
- A summary that collates all the points discussed
Presentations should be as distinctive as your brand and the information you're attempting to convey. However, several presentation formats are utilized by teams and sectors alike.
Therefore, you must choose the presentation style that will work best for your audience before considering which slides to use or how to arrange your content.
The most common types of presentations are
- Informative presentations
- Instructive presentations
- Persuasive presentations
- Decision-making presentations
- Inspirational presentations
In this era of fast-paced life, people's attention stays on a topic only for a few seconds. Since presentations usually deliver huge pieces of information, they tend to become boring or overwhelming for the user.
The purpose of the presentation is to deliver important information in the most effective, concise, and precise way possible.
To hold the audience’s attention for a long time, a unique method of delivery is required. Additionally, a presentation must be two-way and interactive to make a stand and hook the audience to all slide decks.
This is where Animaker Deck comes in. You can create super easy animated presentations and break all the stereotypes with Animaker Deck - World’s 1st Avatar Powered Presentation Software.
The advantage of using Animation Deck is that you don't need to have advanced technical knowledge.
Compelling Presentation Ideas
We have developed 15 compelling presentation ideas to fuel your creativity. Follow these tips and prepare a stunning presentation like never before.
- Add a touch of humor
1. Focus on the Intro Slide
Having a stunning opening act is very essential for every presentation. The first few seconds from the start of the presentation set the tone and draw in the audience to give their fullest attention to the presentation.
Edit this template
Whatever the topic of your presentation, you can make it more engaging and exciting by creating a visually appealing Intro slide.
You can highlight the topic of the presentation, use animated characters, incorporate modern font styles, and pull every feather out of your creative hat to seal the deal with the best intro style possible for your presentation.
It's imperative to make the audience anticipate throughout the presentation to get the best results.
The above intro slide is from Animaker Deck, which discusses employee awards and recognition policies.
Organizations/Brands should create thoughtful and appealing opening slides to create the right setting for the audience and successfully convey their missions and goals.
2. Follow a theme
Amuse your audience by following a theme in your presentation.
Choosing a unique theme relevant to the topic of the presentation will add some zeal to the slide decks and readily impress the crowd.
There are several theme-based presentation templates available online. For instance, take a look at this Product Launch presentation template on Animaker Deck. It adopts an orange and black theme that perfectly matches the product mockups in it.
To make things easier, Animaker Deck offers a bunch of slide templates. Each template follows a different theme and has been designed by skilled experts. So, you don’t have to worry about designing a presentation from scratch with an impressive theme.
But if you must, you can also customize the themes by adding your brand colors, introducing new graphic elements, and what not!
Follow a theme and present a neat looking slide deck!
3. Use Animated Characters
It's high time you break all stereotypes and infuse some life into the presentation!
Change from blunt texts and boring solid colors to visually eye-catching elements such as Animated Characters.
![top 5 presentation ideas Animaker Deck library showing Characters](https://www.animaker.com/hub/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Screenshot-2022-09-29-at-8.43.07-AM.jpg)
However, are you thinking, “I have no prior expertise in animation or character creation. So how am I going to make it?”
Well, don't worry!

An interactive presentation is a dynamic and engaging communication format that involves active participation and collaboration between the presenter and the audience. Unlike traditional presentations where information is delivered in a one-way manner, interactive presentations invite the audience to interact, respond and contribute throughout the session.
Think of it as a two-way street where you and your audience have a friendly chat. It’s like playing a fun game where you ask questions, get live feedback and encourage people to share their thoughts.
To make a good presentation , you can utilize various tools and techniques such as clickable buttons, polls, quizzes, discussions and multimedia elements to transform your slides into an interactive presentation. Whether you’re presenting in-person or giving a virtual presentation — when people are actively participating, they’re more likely to remember the stuff you’re talking about.

Interactive presentations leave a lasting impression on the audience. By encouraging active participation and feedback, interactive presentations facilitate better understanding and knowledge retention. Here are 15 innovative 5-minute interactive presentation ideas to captivate your audience from start to finish:
1. Ice-breaker questions
Start your presentation with intriguing and thought-provoking questions or a fun icebreaker game. These questions should be designed to pique the audience’s curiosity and encourage them to think about the topic you’ll be covering. By doing so, you create an immediate connection with your audience and set the stage for a more engaged and attentive audience.
For example, if you’re giving a business presentation about management and leadership training, you could ask audience questions such as “What’s the best business advice you’ve ever received, and how has it impacted your career?”

By providing this autonomy, you empower the audience to explore areas of particular interest, creating a more personalized and engaging experience through your interactive slideshow.

Creating interactive presentations can be a game-changer for engaging your audience and enhancing your presentation skills, but steering clear of common pitfalls is essential. Here are some key mistakes to avoid when crafting your interactive presentations:
1. Overloading with interactivity
While interactivity is fantastic, bombarding your audience with too many interactive elements can backfire. Strive for a balanced approach that enhances engagement without overwhelming your listeners.
2. Ignoring audience relevance
Failing to tailor interactive elements to your audience’s interests and preferences can lead to disconnection. Make sure your interactions resonate with your specific audience for a more meaningful experience.
3. Not testing interactive elements
Skipping thorough testing of interactive features before showtime can spell disaster. Avoid technical glitches by diligently testing all interactive components in advance.
4. Poor timing and pace
Timing is everything, especially with interactive activities. Ensure seamless integration by planning your key points and the timing of your interactive elements carefully.
5. Lack of clear purpose
Every interactive element should serve a purpose and contribute to your presentation’s objectives. Don’t add interactions just for the sake of it — ensure they add value and align with your message.
6. Failing to engage beyond interactivity
While interactive elements are powerful tools, remember that content is king. Combine your interactive features with compelling storytelling and valuable insights to create an immersive and impactful presentation.
Incorporating animated slides into your interactive presentations enhances the overall appeal and interaction, turning an ordinary presentation into an engaging experience. Try it out with one of our animated presentation templates to get started.

Welcome, friends, to the ultimate guide for creating powerful, fun, informative, and engaging presentations! In this article, I’ll show you how to choose a topic that will inspire, inform, and captivate your audience.
You know that a successful speech or presentation requires many essential elements. Your body language must exude confidence, and your voice must convey enthusiasm. Your visual aids must be eye-catching and relevant, and your opening and closing lines must leave a lasting impression.
But one of the most important aspect of your speech or presentation is the topic itself. It must be engaging, insightful, and meaningful to both you and your audience. Your topic is the foundation of your presentation, so it needs to be rock solid.
How do you choose a good presentation topic? 🤔
There are millions of topics you could use for presentations, but what defines a good topic? If you’re struggling to either come up with a good topic for a presentation or you can’t decide between multiple ones, here are a few questions you should ask yourself before choosing a topic.
What’s the goal of your presentation? 🎯
First, consider the purpose of your presentation. What do you want your audience to take away from your talk? A meaningful goal will make your presentation more memorable and impactful.
Are you interested in the topic? 💙
Choose a topic that interests you. Your passion for the subject will shine through and inspire your audience to engage with your presentation.
Will your audience find this topic relatable? 👥
Consider your audience. What will they find relevant and relatable? Your topic must connect with their interests and knowledge level to keep them engaged and informed.
Do you have prior experience or knowledge about this topic? 🧠
Draw from your personal experiences and knowledge. Sharing your unique perspective will make your presentation more engaging and memorable.
What are some creative ways to present topics? 🎨
If you don’t have expertise in a topic, think about how you can relate it to your actual expertise. For example, if you’re giving a speech about social media without much expertise, but you do have expertise in Inca ruins, you can say something like: “Just as the Inca ruins were constructed layer by layer, so too has social media evolved, with each new platform and feature building on what came before it.”
How can I make a presentation more entertaining? 🎭
Make it visual: Use images, charts, and videos to keep the audience engaged and entertained.
Use humor: Add a bit of humor to lighten the mood and keep people interested.
Interactivity: Draw your audience in with an impromptu poll or quiz, a creative activity, or humor.
Tell a story: Think about what kinds of characters your audience would find interesting or persuasive. What about animals, like dogs? Is there a relatable theme or message? Follow templates like the Past-Present-Future framework to create a story arc.
Use variety: Switch it up by alternating between slides, videos, and activities.
Break it up: Keep the presentation short and sweet by splitting it into multiple parts.
Use the celebrity factor: Share a fun and relevant anecdote about a celebrity like Taylor Swift or Lizzo.
Use props: Utilize interesting props to make the presentation more interesting and interactive.

Elevating your short-form presentation skills
Creating and delivering a compelling 5-minute presentation requires a strategic approach to ensure your message is concise, engaging, and impactful. Here are some best practices to keep in mind:
Define a clear message
Start by defining the core message or main takeaway you want your audience to remember. Keep it focused and concise to ensure your presentation remains on track.
Structure with purpose
Organize your presentation with a clear structure: introduction, main points, and conclusion. Each section should flow logically and contribute to the overall message.
Learn more about how to effectively structure your presentation by watching the following video:
Engaging opening
Begin with an attention-grabbing opening that hooks your audience and sets the tone for the rest of your presentation. This could be a surprising fact, a thought-provoking question, or a captivating anecdote.
Concise content
Keep your content concise and to the point. Avoid information overload and focus on the most relevant and impactful details that support your main message.
Visual aids
Use visuals sparingly to complement your spoken words. Visual aids should be simple, relevant, and easy to understand. They should enhance your message, not distract from it.
Rehearse your presentation multiple times to become comfortable with the content and timing. Practice helps you refine your delivery and identify areas for improvement.
Time management
Keep a close eye on your time during practice and the actual presentation. Aim to stay within the 5-minute limit to ensure your message is delivered effectively.
Engaging delivery
Maintain good eye contact, use appropriate gestures, and vary your vocal tone to keep your audience engaged. A confident and enthusiastic delivery enhances your message’s impact.
Discover more about engaging delivery by mastering the art of storytelling :
Relevance and depth
Prioritize quality over quantity. Instead of covering numerous points superficially, delve deeper into a few key ideas to provide valuable insights.
Transitions
Use smooth transitions between sections to guide your audience through your presentation. These transitions create a seamless flow that keeps listeners engaged.
Call to action
Conclude your presentation with a clear call to action that aligns with your main message. Encourage your audience to take a specific action or reflect on what they’ve learned.
Choose a relevant topic
Perhaps most importantly, select a topic that is relevant to your audience’s interests, needs, and preferences. Make sure it aligns with the purpose of your presentation and resonates with your listeners. For 10 minutes, what can you really do? A shower? A power nap? An entire presentation?
You might already be sweating at the idea of that last one. Cramming an entire presentation into 10 minutes is tough, but doing it without even knowing what to talk about is even tougher. So let’s check out 10-minute presentation topics

The 10-Minute Presentation Topics Structure
As you might imagine, the hardest part of a 10-minute presentation is actually sticking to 10 minutes. None of your audience, organisers or fellow speakers will be pleased if your speech starts running over, but it’s hard to know how not to.
You might be tempted to cram as much information as possible, but doing so is just going to make for an overbearing presentation. Especially for this type of presentation , knowing what to leave out is as much of a skill as knowing what to put in, so try and follow the sample below for a perfectly structured presentation.
- Introduction (1 slide) – Start your presentation with a quick question, fact or story relayed in a maximum of 2 minutes.
- Body (3 slides) – Get into the nitty gritty of your talk with 3 slides. Audiences struggle to take home more than three ideas, so spacing all three out over the course of 6 or 7 minutes can be very effective.
- Conclusion (1 slide) – End it all with a quick sum up of your 3 main points. You should be able to do this in 1 minute.
This 10-minute presentation example format contains a fairly conservative 5 slides, based on the famous 10-20-30 rule of presentations. In that rule, an ideal presentation is 10 slides in 20 minutes, meaning a 10-minute presentation would only require 5 slides.
Use interactive features with AhaSlides to gain better engagement in any type of presentation! You can spin the fun to the presentation, by gathering crowd ideas by idea board , live word clouds , or surveying them by top free survey tool , online polling , and also test their knowledge with an online quiz creator !
10 Ideas for College Students – 10-Minute Presentation Topics
A 10-minute presentation is all you need as a college student to show your knowledge and forward-thinking values. So let’s check out few
They’re also great practice for presentations you might be making in the future. If you feel comfortable within 10 minutes, chances are that you’ll be alright in the future, too.
- How to work alongside AI – Artificial intelligence is making huge steps forward daily. We’ll soon be in a different world, so how are you, the worker of the future, going to deal with it? This is a super interesting topic and one that’s very relevant for your classmates.
- Fighting the climate catastrophe – The issue of our age. What is it doing to us and how do we solve it?
- Portable homes – The portable home movement is on the way to revolutionising the way we live. What’s good and bad about having a house you can move around and what does your ideal one look like?

- The future of streaming platforms – Why is TV on demand so great and why is it not universal? Or is it stealing too much of our free time?

- The evolution of the mobile phone – Has any device in history advanced as quickly as mobile phones have? There’s so much to talk about in this 10-minute presentation topic.
- The life and times of your hero – A great chance to show your love for someone who inspires you the most. This can be within or outside of your college subject.
- My permaculture future – If you’re looking for a greener existence in your future, try explaining to your classmates about the advantages and logistics of having a permaculture garden.
- E-waste – We dump out so much electrical waste these days. Where does it all go and what happens to it?
10 Interview Presentation Ideas – 10-Minute Presentation Topics
More and more nowadays, recruiters are turning to quick-fire presentation as a means of testing a candidate’s skill and confidence in presenting something.
But, it’s more than that. Recruiters also want to learn about you as a person. They want to know what interests you, what makes you tick and what has changed your life in a profound way.
If you can nail any of these presentation topics in your interview, you’ll be starting next Monday!
- Someone who inspires you – Pick a hero and talk about their background, their achievements, what you’ve learned from them and how it’s shaped you as a person.
- The most eye-opening place you’ve ever been – A travelling experience or holiday that blew your mind. This might not necessarily be your favourite ever abroad experience, but it was one that made you realise something you had not thought about before.
- An imagined problem – Set out a hypothetical problem at the company you’re applying for. Show the recruiters the steps you would take to eradicate that problem for good.
- Something you’re proud of – We’ve all got achievements we’re proud of, and they do not necessarily work achievements. A quick 10-minute presentation on something you’ve done or made that has made you proud can reveal a lot of good stuff about you as a person.
- The future of your field – Make some interesting, bold predictions about where you think the industry is heading in the upcoming years. Do research, get stats to back up your claims, and avoid being condescending.
- A workflow you’ve fixed – Untidy workflows are rampant in many workplaces. If you’ve had a hand in turning something inefficient into a well-oiled machine, make a presentation about it!
- A book you’d love to write – Assuming you were a top-class wordsmith, what’s the one topic you’d love to write a book about? Would it be fiction or non-fiction? What would the plot be? Who are the characters?
- Your favourite work culture – Choose the job with the best work culture in terms of office atmosphere, rules, after-work activities and trips away. Explain what was so great about it; it might give your potential new boss a few ideas!
- Pet peeves in the workplace – If you fancy yourself as a bit of a comedian, listing out the things that grind your gears in the office could be a good laugh and a nice bit of observational comedy for your recruiters. Make sure it’s actually funny though, as listening to a candidate moan for 10 minutes is not normally something that leads to recruitment.
- The good and bad of remote working – Surely every office worker in the world has experience of remote working. Pry open your own experiences and discuss whether or not they’ve been for the better or for, the worse.
10 Relatable 10-Minute Presentation Topics

Five tips to set yourself apart.
Never underestimate the power of great communication. It can help you land the job of your dreams, attract investors to back your idea, or elevate your stature within your organization. But while there are plenty of good speakers in the world, you can set yourself apart out by being the person who can deliver something great over and over. Here are a few tips for business professionals who want to move from being good speakers to great ones: be concise (the fewer words, the better); never use bullet points (photos and images paired together are more memorable); don’t underestimate the power of your voice (raise and lower it for emphasis); give your audience something extra (unexpected moments will grab their attention); rehearse (the best speakers are the best because they practice — a lot).
I was sitting across the table from a Silicon Valley CEO who had pioneered a technology that touches many of our lives — the flash memory that stores data on smartphones, digital cameras, and computers. He was a frequent guest on CNBC and had been delivering business presentations for at least 20 years before we met. And yet, the CEO wanted to sharpen his public speaking skills.

Types of video presentations
If you’re looking to win over your audience with a presentation, videos are the best way to do it. According to Insivia, viewers retain 95% of a message when they see it in a video, but only 10% if they have to read on-screen text.
When you’re making your presentation, you could either make your video the whole presentation, or just a part of the whole. Did you know, for example, that you can embed a video in a Powerpoint document? Either is possible with our video templates and it can be interesting to mix things up once in a while.
There are four main types of presentations:
- Informative
- Demonstrative
- Inspirational
Picking the right one will ensure you’re onto a winner with your video presentation. For example, if you’re onboarding some new employees, you might choose a video template that’s an informative presentation like this one:
Or, if you want to show off how something works, a demonstration presentation might be what you want to create:
A persuasive presentation would involve creating a video more like this charity infographic example:
And if you want something a little more inspirational, try something like this positive quote video template.
But that’s not all, folks! If you’d like to check out more awesome Biteable video templates, visit our templates page here .
Creative (and fun!) video presentation ideas
You’ve now picked the type of presentation you need. But how do you get creative with your video?
First of all, it’s important your video is top-notch. Without high-quality graphics and production value, your message may fall by the wayside. Choose online video presentation software that’s easy to use and makes great-looking videos. That’s where Biteable comes in.
Whatever the topic of your presentation, your video format and design need to match the overall tone and message.
Delivering a corporate presentation on climate change? A fast-paced, wildly colorful template with upbeat music is going to feel a little off-message.
To identify how to design your presentation, think about the feelings you want to evoke in your audience. Want them to be crying with laughter? Moved to tears? Motivated into taking action? Pinpointing the emotions behind your presentation will help you choose the right template and make the best video possible.

Now you’ve nailed down the type of video presentation you want to make, it’s time to master the finer details. Here’s just some of the ways you can make your message sing.
1. Start with a bold statement
A bold statement can capture your audience’s attention right from the get-go. Your statement should offer something slightly unusual and maybe even a little controversial. Something to make people sit up and take notice.
2. Tell a story
One of the best ways to get your audience’s attention is to tell a story – it’ll hit them right in the feels.
A personal, human story works because it the audience can relate to it on a personal level. Think about some stand-out examples of human stories that relate to your business or idea, and tell that story so people will connect with the central character. The bigger the emotion the better: love, longing, overcoming obstacles, things we’ve all had to deal with at some point in our lives.
Think about the ‘story arc’ – how will you frame your message so the audience immediately empathizes?
If you’re selling trainers, perhaps you’ll talk about someone who’s training for a marathon. If you’re lobbying for women’s rights, perhaps you’ll tell a story of when a passing comment affected you deeply. Maybe you should think back to the decision that started your business, and start your presentation with that.
Here’s a great example of storytelling from one of the world’s top brands:
3. Use music
Music has great power to support and enhance the emotion in a video presentation, and has been proven to sustain an audience’s attention and aid in information retention. Music is used in movies to suggest an emotional state to the viewer, so why not in a video presentation?
Modern, up-tempo music will snap people to attention at the right moment, while slow, minor-key sounds relax the brain, which is useful for reviewing content so it can slip more easily into long-term memory.
It can be a struggle to find good quality royalty free music , but here at Biteable we have a selection of great royalty free tracks (or you can upload your own if you’re that way inclined).
Music is one of the most critical (and often overlooked) aspects of any presentation. Here’s a good example of a Biteable template where the music does a great job of supporting the message.
4. Visual metaphor
Research has shown that combining pictures and text is one of the best ways to help people engage with and retain information. There’s something about how our brain works that makes text by itself far less memorable, so if you can combine something visual with your message, you’ll keep people’s attention longer and they’ll remember more of your presentation.
Talking to a group of people about taking action on something that scares them? A picture of someone diving or bungee jumping could work. Telling your boss how important that company retreat is next year? Show them an image of happy, relaxed people with their toes in the sand.
It doesn’t have to be obvious and clichéd, either. Closed doors, wide open roads, and lighting a candle all have subconscious messages that you don’t really need to explain. (Whatever you do, just don’t use the ultimate cliche: the overused ‘water ripple’ .)
5. Use questions
Questions can be a great way to open a presentation, because they encourage the audience to think for themselves. It opens them up to a realm of critical thinking, which is perfect when you’re gonna sock it to them with your impactful message.
‘Did you know 15 billion trees are cut down each year?’
‘Have you ever considered what life would be like if you didn’t have to save money?’
The art of asking questions in a presentation means you can incorporate them into your video as a great lead-in. Combined with some appropriate music, it can really get your audience thinking about the issue, and then you’ll go on to explain exactly what your solution is.
Having a laugh can really do a lot to win over an audience. There’s no need to be too serious, and even if you’re dealing with a heavy topic, lightening the mood can work wonders.
Whether you’re looking to create a funny sales video, an event presentation, or a presentation for an interview — one thing’s for sure, you can’t go wrong by including humor.
7. Repetition
Simple. Effective. Powerful.
Repetition can be used in several ways: by offering several one-word sentences in a row (the repetition is in the rhythm), or by repeating a word or a key phrase several time throughout your presentation.
In his famous Stanford speech in 2005, for example, Steve Jobs concluded by saying “Stay hungry. Stay foolish.”
Repetition is powerful. It drives home your key message and strengthens your position.
8. Motion Graphics
Motion graphics are basically animation with text as a major component, and is a staple of what we do at Biteable.
When you use moving graphics in a presentation, it instantly captures attention. If your audience is just taking their seats, or are halfway through hearing your story, there’s no doubt they’ll sit up and take notice if you introduce some cool motion graphics, like this Meeting Tips example.
Although they can sometimes feel clichéd, quotes are a great way to impart a message in a presentation. Want your audience to understand something complex? A quote from Einstein should do it. Or would you like to say something meaningful and poetic? A couple of lines of Shakespeare should convey some wisdom.
10. Audio narration
Narration can give a different mood to your presentation, especially if the voice is powerful and the words are heartfelt. Use it to change the tone or pace of your presentation and it will certainly keep your audience hooked if there’s a danger of them losing interest.
11. Go bright with color
Color can have a huge effect on how your video comes across. Don’t be afraid to experiment. The contrasts of black and white can be extremely effective, but you can also grab people’s attention with some carefully-chosen primary and secondary colors, like in our Motion Graphics template.
12. Use illustrations
Illustrations are a great way to communicate information, especially if you’ve got lots to say. Whether you want to create a crowd of people or a cool depiction of some new fancy gadget, illustrations can draw the eye and make your presentation more interesting.
13. Infographics
When you utilize infographics, you can pack in a huge amount of data and information without confusing your audience. Think pie charts, digital numbers, and ascending animated graphs. These can show your audience boring data in an exciting way.
14. Create interesting transitions
The one advantage of video over a standard presentation is that you can do all types of funky things with transitions, like a whip pan transition, when the camera quickly pans between scenes. It’s a bit like a wipe, but much faster. Check out our full article on transitions here .
15. Make it look cinematic
Adding a cinematic touch can help your audience feel receptive to your message because subconsciously, they will associate these elements with being at the cinema, eating popcorn, and generally having a good time.
16. Go retro
A cool, retro look for your presentation will make it hard to ignore. By going retro, you add a little bit of cheeky style to your message. You don’t need to go quite as retro as the template below, but taking a step back in time is a sure way to add a little bit of zing to things.
17. End on a meaningful note
Your presentation will only give your audience a lasting impression if you end it right.
It’s important to let the audience know what you want them to do next: to visit a website for more information, to ponder an idea or new direction, or to take action toward a particular goal.
An attention-grabbing visual will work really well here, along with a meaningful end to the music – a change of pace, volume, or pitch.
What’s the takeaway message? A strong CTA (call to action) will ensure your presentation is memorable and much more likely to be talked about.
Video brings your presentation alive
Of course, we’re a little biased here at Biteable, but we’ve also sat through enough mind-numbingly dull presentations to know that video offers a delightful treat for your audience. It brings your message to life in a way no other medium can.

Pro tip: make your presentation as interactive as possible. Students have an attention span of two to three minutes per year of age. To keep minds from wandering off, include some interactive games or activities in the lesson. For example, if you conducted a lesson on the respiratory system, you could ask them to practice breathing techniques.
Maintain eye contact with your students, and you’ll get instant feedback on how interested they are in the interactive presentation.

Beautify the Look of Bar Charts in PowerPoint in 5 Simple Steps
A professional presentation aims to deliver a clear message in every presentation slide. When your presentation contains data charts, it’s worth make effort to transform a simple chart into a compelling bar chart infographic.
As a slide designer, I often deal with chart visual transformations. Let me share practical ways how you can beautify bar charts in PowerPoint with a few creative touches. I will show you how you can take a presentation from standard to stand out.
Using Icons for Bar Chart Beautification
One quick strategy I employ to avoid the default chart look is to illustrate data categories with icons.
Selecting and adding the right icons representing a data category can make all the difference. The right imagery can elevate the entire slide.
For example, if I’m discussing financial reports, I can represent financial figures with icons for dollars, percentages, or shopping carts. These visual symbols can be copied directly onto the slide, enhancing the overall design. If you struggle with finding the right symbols, check our blog where we discuss criteria to consider when choosing icons.

I usually choose icons from our extensive PPT symbols collection at InfoDiagram are from one consistent style that ensures that each bar chart is not just informative but also professionally looking.
![top 5 presentation ideas outline icons powerpoint](https://blog.infodiagram.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/outline-icons-powerpoint-1024x577.png)
To further customize added icons, I modified the colors of the outline icons to fit the presentation theme. This isn’t just about making the chart colorful; it’s about using color strategically to guide the viewer’s eye, fit the content, and make the data infographic truly pop.
A nice design way to beautify bar charts with icons is to integrate them within a shape, like a circle, to create a more cohesive design element.
To make your presentation look professional, explore several design ways of how you can blend symbols with your content .
By placing icons within shapes, such as circles or teardrops, you can create a more integrated look. These shapes can either be crafted from scratch using PowerPoint’s built-in options or sourced from our template decks, which offer a variety of pre-designed graphics. This could be as simple as creating a uniform circle to house an icon, ensuring consistent height and width, and giving the infographic a neat and organized feel.

Beautify Bar Charts with Visual Hierarchy in Mind
A crucial aspect of creating easy to read data chart is the visual hierarchy. It’s not just about adding elements but also about knowing how to layer them.
For example, I use a light grey rectangle to group categories subtly, ensuring not to disrupt the chart’s readability. The visual hierarchy is further emphasized through color selection – highlighting the most critical parts. Here I used orange color for the budget bar, contrasting last year’s values, and using the lightest color for the background.

Highlighting Key Data Points with Graphic Markers
To draw attention to specific data points, the trick I often use is to add an arrow or an oval hand-drawn marker . If you don’t have such a shape by hand, using a standard PowerPoint shape a rectangle with rounded corners and a distinct outline does the trick.
![top 5 presentation ideas Highlighting Key Data Points with Graphic Markers beautify bar charts](https://blog.infodiagram.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Highlighting-Key-Data-Points-with-Graphic-Markers-1024x577.png)
These graphic elements serve as simple yet effective markers, emphasizing the areas of focus for the audience.
![top 5 presentation ideas hand drawn markers](https://blog.infodiagram.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/hand-drawn-markers-1024x577.png)
Data Chart Bottom-line Message
Adding a proper explanation of data context to a chart infographic is essential for clear data communication. If the bar chart is to be shared in a written report or as a standalone slide, I include a sentence or two summarizing the key takeaways. The simple design way to do it is to write that bottom-line text inside an ordinary PowerPoint shape, e.g. a rectangle with a distinct color, ensuring that the message isn’t lost.
![top 5 presentation ideas Data Chart Bottom-line Message beautify bar charts](https://blog.infodiagram.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Data-Chart-Bottom-line-Message--1024x577.png)
Other Ideas for Chart Beautification
To make a bar chart more unique, you can consider crafting custom legends or even integrating the bar chart with other graphical elements in its background for a distinctive and creative look.
I would be careful with using pictures, in order not to cover the essential data visualized in your data chart. You can use a photograph on a narrow side stripe but I would not use it under the whole data chart.
Incorporating the strategies mentioned in this article into a PowerPoint presentation ensures that a bar chart is not just a data representation but can be part of your storytelling. By illustrating categories with icons, using color to establish a visual hierarchy, emphasizing critical elements with graphic markers, and conveying the chart’s message clearly, you can create charts that are both informative and visually compelling.

These Are The Top 5 Cheapest European Cities To Visit in 2024 According To New Report

European getaways have always been painted as these lavish, expensive affairs that not all travelers will get to enjoy in their lifetime.
But as new transatlantic flights pop up virtually every day and prices back home reach all-time highs, planning that dream European vacation doesn't end up costing much more than a domestic holiday, especially if you choose your destination right.
And to help you do just that, travel insurance company Quotezone just released a ranking of the best, cheapest European cities to visit in 2024, a list that was based on factors like popularity, accommodation costs, food prices, tourist taxes, public transport fees, and more.
After all of that was taken into consideration, these five places were crowned the continent's top budget-friendly destinations:
5. Madrid, Spain
The No. 5 spot caught us a little by surprise, too – Spain is hardly your typical budget vacation spot.
But when you actually take a look at the prices you'll pay for traveling musts in Madrid (think hotel rooms, meals, groceries, and transportation), you'll realize that you might've been a bit too quick to judge the Spanish capital as just another pricy hub only a select few can afford.
You won't struggle to find a great hotel in the city center within the $70-$100 a night range, a quick meal for two rarely surpasses the $30 mark, and a bus or metro ticket is less than $2.
What's more, there's no shortage of gorgeous attractions scattered around the city you can enjoy either at a very low cost or entirely free of charge.
Fees for Museo Nacional del Prado, The Royal Palace of Madrid, and Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía are all under $15, and if you don't want to spend a dime, you can add Plaza Mayor, El Retiro Park, and Puerta de Alcalá to your itinerary.
4. Lisbon, Portugal
This one, you might've seen coming.
Lisbon has made news these past couple of years as one of Europe's trendiest, cheapest destinations, and once you get a good look at the dreamy pastel-colored buildings, you'll want to pack your bags ASAP.
Accommodation prices are similar to what you'd find in Madrid, hovering around the $70-$100 range, but restaurant meals are cheaper (averaging roughly $14 per person) and a 1-mile taxi ride costs less than $1.5, so rest assured that you'll be getting your money's worth.
3. Istanbul, Turkey
Istanbul has always been one of the world's most fascinating cities, but travelers have never flocked to it quite like they are right now, and that's because it's one of the only few decent-value destinations still left in the world.
Most hotels in the city center charge anywhere between $20 and $50, and even higher-end places like Wyndham Istanbul or DoubleTree by Hilton don't surpass the $135-a-night mark – that's unfathomable in similarly popular vacation hubs around the world.
The food is exquisite and just as cheap.
Entire trays of kebabs, köftes, meat sautés, mezes, and a piece of baklava or kadayıf to wrap up the meal rarely cost more than $15.
2. Zagreb, Croatia
Similarly to Portugal, Croatia has consistently been hailed as one of Europe's best-value destinations these past couple of years, but the stunning capital, Zagreb, is even cheaper than its Iberian counterpart.
Most hotels are priced at a little over $78 a night, a hefty pint of locally brewed beer is just $3, and most of the city's major attractions are either free or cost less than $10 to enter, so if you're going to Croatia to take in the incredible Dalmatian coastline this summer, a stop in Zagreb is a must.
1. Warsaw, Poland
An incredible solo travel destination for women , an uncrowded haven , and now the best cheap destination in all of Europe – Warsaw truly has it all.
Between most hotel rooms costing less than $90 a night, meals adding up to $10 per person, and the fact that you won't have to pay a tourist tax here, it's really no wonder the Polish capital took the crown today.
You'll be hard-pressed to find a better-value destination in Europe and beyond.
Having explored over 20 countries in the last 3 years, Megi is committed to bringing the freshest, most up-to-date news and perspectives on the world's most fascinating destinations.
