General Instructions for submitting Online Application

• You need to register first, before filling of the online entrance application form.
• Click on the button  NEW REGISTRTION that appears in the applicant login area and fill the required registration details.
• Fill in the UserName and password in the appropriate columns correctly.
• Remember, while choosing your  UserName it must be in between 8 to 16 characters.
• While choosing your  password  it must be alphanumeric and between 8 to 16 characters long.
• After filling the mandatory information click the "SUBMIT" button.
• Your username will be instantly sent to you via e-mail and SMS.
• Remember your Username and Password for subsequent login.
• If you have already registered i.e you are an existing user click the "LOGIN" button.
• Scanned passport size Photograph (less than 100 KB)
• Scanned Signature (less than 100 KB)
• Credit Card (Master/Visa)
• Debit Card (Master/Visa/Rupay)
• Net Banking
• Note: It is suggested to scan documents from your originals. Once you have uploaded the document, click the next button you will get the further information related to online application which you need to fill up.
• After the final submission of online application form, download the filled in application form, take the printout and enclose the hardcopies/photocopies of all the documents and certificates as mentioned in the student handbook and prospectus to be submitted during counseling for final admission.

Instructions pertaining to Reservation of Seats, Fees and Exam pattern for PhD Entrance Test – 2022

•  The number of seats to be advertised in different categories (GEN/OBC/SC/ST/EWS) is as per the Reservation Policy for Research Degree Programmes and DOPT,Govt of India .norms amended from time to time.  Appendix II of the Information Brochure  may be referred in this regard.  
• Five percent (5%) seats shall be reserved for Persons with Disabilities (with not less than 40% disability). However such candidates shall be adjusted against the appropriate category (Gen/SC/ST/OBC/EWS) to which they belong  (Ref.Annexure II of Information Brochure 2022).
• Submission of application forms will be online only.  Entrance Examination is compulsory for all candidates including MPhil / NET / JRF etc., for admission to Research Degree Programmes. No exemption from appearing for the Entrance Test is permissible.
• Application Fee for  submission of online application is  Rs 1000.  
•    Application fee is  non-refundable.
•    No request for   change in category,   shall be entertained once the application has been successfully submitted.
• Applicants are advised to submit onle application only, as the Entrance Test shall be conducted for all the Programmes on the same day.
• Eligibility for appearing in the Entrance Test  is subject to the candidate fulfilling the minimum eligibility requirements as prescribed in the IGNOU Regulations  for conduct of Research Programmes which is as under: 

A candidate will be eligible for admission and registration for the PhD programme, provided he/she:

   ....... Possesses Master’s Degree  from a University recognized by UGC or any other qualification recognized as equivalent thereto in such fields of study as are notified for the purpose from time to time by the University with at least  55% marks [50% marks in the case of SC, ST, OBC (Non-creamy Layer), EWS and Differently-Abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of UGC from time to time. *

* Note : Applicants are requested to carefully go through the eligibility criteria as per the details mentioned at Annexure –II and make sure that they fulfill the same. If any discrepancy is found at a later stage, the University reserves all the rights to not consider such cases.

8.  In case, a candidate does not meet these minimum eligibility criteria and appears in the written examination, it is at the candidate’s own risk and cost, and if at any stage, it is found that the minimum eligibility requirements are not fulfilled, the admission, if granted, shall be cancelled ipso facto.

9.  Weightage of Entrance Test is 70% and 30% weightage is for the Interview.

10. 50% is the qualifying marks  in the Entrance Test for  Open Category.  For  SC/ST/OBC, EWS /PWD, the qualifying mark is  45% .

11. Admission to the Ph.D Degree Programmes is strictly on merit, based on the performance in the Entrance Test and Interview taken together.

  Syllabus and Question paper

• a)   The syllabus of the Entrance Test is as per the ‘University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedures for Award of MPhil / PhD Degrees) Regulations, 2022  comprising 50% on Research methodology and 50% on specific subject.
• b)   The question paper shall have  questions consisting of  50% on research methodology and 50% on specific subject .

• Submission of application for PhD Programme will be online only. The candidate can only apply for one Programme as the Entrance Test shall be conducted for all the Programmes on the same day.
• Application Fee for  submission of online application is  Rs 1000.  
• Application fee is  non-refundable.
• The number of seats to be advertised in different categories (GEN/OBC/SC/ST/EWS) is as per the Reservation Policy for Research Degree Programmes and DOPT,Govt of India .norms amended from time to time.  Appendix II of the Information Brochure  may be referred in this regard. 
• No request for   change in reservation category,   shall be entertained once the application has been successfully submitted.

• Candidates awarded with fellowship/scholarship in UGC-NET/UGC- CSIR NET/GATE/CEED and similar National level tests, as per the validity specified by the regulatory bodies, shall be exempted from Entrance Test and their selection will be based on interview. These candidates shall be considered as Category- A. Such candidates have to upload their valid fellowship award letter from the concerned implementing / awarding agency.
• For Category A Candidates , interview shall carry 100% weightage. All eligible candidates from Category A will be called for the interview.
• For Category B Candidates , the Entrance Test shall carry a weightage of 70% and 30% weightage shall be given to the interview. Those who secure at least 50% marks in the Entrance Test (45% marks in case of SC/ST/OBC (Non Creamy layers) / Differently abled persons and EWS) will be shortlisted for the interview in order of merit subject to the maximum limit of five times of the available seats.

Stage II: Interview:

• Eligible candidates from Category A & Category B shall be called for interview before the Discipline Specific Admission committee. Information in this regard shall be uploaded on the University website. The respective disciplines/ schools will communicate regarding the requirement for the interview.
• The interview shall have three components comprising Research Methodology (40%) Subject domain (40%) and Communication Skills (20%).
• Admission to the Ph.D Degree Programmes is strictly on merit, based on the performance in the Entrance Test and Interview taken together.
• A candidate will be eligible for admission and registration for the PhD programme, on the fulfillment of the following conditions :
• Candidates who have completed:
• A 1-year/2-semester master's degree programme after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree programme or a 2-year/4-semester master’s degree programme after a 3-year bachelor’s degree programme or qualifications declared equivalent to the master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed or equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of the educational institution.
• A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade is allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per the decision as per the decision of the UGC from time to time. Provided that a candidate seeking admission after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree programme should have a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade on a point scale wherever the grading system is followed.
• A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time.

IGNOU PhD entrance exam registration begins at NTA portal

Ignou phd entrance exam registration link will be open till december 22. the exam will be held on january 16, 2022..

The registration for Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) PhD entrance exam has begun at the official website of the national testing agency (NTA). The application forms are available on the official website of the NTA at nta.ac.in. Candidates can fill and submit the application forms on or before December 22. The exam will be held on January 16, 2022.

IGNOU PhD entrance exam registration: Know how to apply

• Go to the official website, ignou.nta.ac.in
• Click on IGNOU PhD registration
• Fill the application form
• Submit the form along with the registration fee

The last date for transaction of fee through Credit/Debit Card/Net Banking/UPI is December 23.

The exam will be of 180 minutes in duration and will be held from 10 am to 1 pm.

Regarding the eligibility condition required to appear in the exam, IGNOU says those candidates are allowed who have Master's Degree from a University recognized by UGC in the relevant discipline with at least 55% marks ( for General Category) in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and [50%marks in the case of SC,ST and OBC(non-creamy layer)/differently-abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of UGC from time to time, or for those who had obtained their Master's Degree prior to 19th September,1991] excluding grace marks.

“Those who secure at least 50% marks in the entrance test (45% marks in case of SC/ST/OBC (non creamy layers) / differently abled persons) will be shortlisted for the interview in order of merit, subject to the maximum limit of five times of the available seats,” the University has added.

The university conducts the IGNOU PhD Entrance Examination once a year to start the process of IGNOU PhD Admission for the year 2024. The admission to the Phd programs is strictly based on a performance achieved in the PhD Entrance Examination and Interview. Thereafter, IGNOU will release the final list of shortlisted candidates who are selected to get admission in selected disciplines.

Therefore, the candidates who want to take admission to IGNOU PhD programs in any of the available disciplines should get to know about the eligibility, selection process, and exam structure.

IGNOU PhD 2024 Highlights

It is to inform all candidates that both category students have to attend the classes at the allotted centre to accomplish their course work given by the university. The student must have 80% attendance in the course work to be eligible for the term-end examination.

How to Apply for IGNOU PhD Entrance Exam 2024?

• Students can easily apply for Ph.D. Entrance Examination through online mode. Interested candidates have to click on the given application link and then click on the “Online Application Form” link for Ph.D. July 2023. After the click, you will go to the registration section where you have to click on New Registration to begin your registration procedure.
• Candidates have to fill all sections including the Registration and Application Form without any spelling mistakes
• Once you fill in the above details, it is mandatory to upload your recent passport-size scanned photograph and digital signature. A scanned photograph must be less than 200 KB in size and Signature must be less than 30 KB. After uploading, you have to re-verify your application with all the details that you provided to the university before submitting it. You can also get a print of your Application form before proceeding with payment.
• After checking your application, candidates have to pay their application fee by online mode. After completion of payment, you will get a payment receipt so keep it safe with you for any future reference.
• After successful payment, you will receive a notification or confirmation via SMS or through your registered email ID. If you didn’t get any confirmation then, please contact the IGNOU Ph.D. support team as fast as possible.
• Candidates have to note down their Application Number to login into the Ph.D. entrance portal to download their Admit Card and Result in the future.

It is compulsory to register yourself to fill out your application form online. Once you have paid your fees for the entrance exam will not be refundable to the candidate in any circumstances. There are no documents to needed submit while filling out an application form for Ph.D.  All original documents will have to be produced at the time of the Interview taken by the university.

IGNOU PhD Entrance Exam Structure 2024

We can understand that many of the students are confused regarding the syllabus and structure of the Ph.D. Entrance Examination. IGNOU Admissions 2022: Steps to apply for BEd, PhD, BSc entrance test

Step 1: Visit the official IGNOU website —  ignou.ac.in

Step 2: On the home page, click on the link for application forms for BEd, PhD, BSc entrance test.

Step 3: New users can register by keying in the required details and existing users can login by keying in the user name, password and given security code.

Step 4: Once you successfully login, fill the application form by keying in the required personal and educational details. Upload the required documents and pay the application fees, if required.

Step 5: Save and submit the application form. Download the page for future reference.

Interested candidates have time till December 20 to fill the application forms for BEd, PhD, BSc entrance tests. The fee for submission of online application is Rs 1000, and the application fee is non-refundable. Weightage of entrance test is 70 per cent and the remaining 30 per cent weightage is for the interview.

Along with the National Education Policy (NEP) , IGNOU has set some guidelines for PhD courses. Students must have a PG degree from a UGC-approved university. 5% of seats are reserved for persons with disabilities. The entrance exam is necessary for all applicants, including those with MPhil/NET/JRF . IGNOU Admission 2023: BEd, BSc, PhD Entrance Exam Application Begins; Apply By December 20

The online application process at ignou for the bed, bsc and phd 2022 entrance exams started on november 21. candidates can apply till december 20 for the entrance through– ignou.ac.in..

IGNOU Admission 2023: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has started the application process for the BEd, BSc Nursing and PhD entrance exams 2023. Candidates can submit the online application form through the official website – ignou.ac.in. The last date to apply for the BEd, BSc Nursing and PhD entrance examinations is December 20, 2022. While applying online, it is compulsory for candidates to pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs 1,000 for each of the entrance exams in online mode. Before proceeding to fill out the form, the applicant must have the scanned photograph and scanned signature as it is required to upload in the application.

• Candidates at first need to go to the official website of IGNOU– ignou.ac.in
• Then on the homepage, click on the “Application form for BED / PHD / BSC Entrance Test- January 2023” link.
• After that click on the BEd, BSc Nursing or PhD exam link.
• Fill in the application form, upload the necessary documents, pay the application fees and then submit the form.
• At last, download and take a printout of the entrance exam form for future reference.

General Instructions

• 20th to 37th Convocation of the University were held, as per the following details:-
• The certificates of eligible students of Master Degree, Bachelor Degree, Post Graduate Diploma and Diploma Programmes have been forwarded to their Regional Centre/Regional Centre opted by the students for issuing to them.
• The certificates of Post Graduate Certificate and Certificate Programme are available with the Headquarters.
• However, the students who have not received the Degree/Diploma/ Certificate may know the Regional Centre/Headquarters where their Certificate was sent/available and apply online to receive the same, if not received, so far.
• The certificates of the students who have already registered online for this purpose will be issued shortly by the Regional Centre/Headquarters, if not issued, so far.

Instructions for the Students:-

• The students who become eligible for award of Degree/Diploma/ Certificate in the 20th and 35th Convocation but have not received the Certificate/not registered, so far may apply/register for this purpose now.
• After successful registration, they can Log in and fill up the requisite details, if required and upload the necessary documents i.e. 1. IGNOU IDENTITY CARD and 2. GRADE CARD/PROVISIONAL CERTIFICATE in jpg/jpeg format having file size up to 100kb
• Eligible students are also required to pay the requisite fee Online for this purpose, as per the details below:
• Rs. 200/- for PG Certificate/ Certificate programmes for the students who have completed their Certificate programme in the 34th to 37th Convocation.
• No fee for PG Certificate/ Certificate programmes for the students who have completed their Certificate programme in the 20th to 33rd Convocation.
• The requisite fee can be paid online through the following modes:
• Debit/ Credit Card (Master/Visa/Rupay) of any bank.
• Net Banking
• Students can print the acknowledgement after successful payment of the requisite fee.
• For query, if any, about the Master Degree, Bachelor Degree, Post Graduate Diploma and Diploma Programmes Certificate, the concerned Regional Centre may be contacted where the Certificate was forwarded. The address and email id address of the concerned Regional Centre may be seen in the particulars of the student shown while filling the requisite details by the student.
• Click Here to print the acknowledgement. If you do not receive an acknowledgement, you may wait for 48 hours.
