Basic Outline for Composing an Essay on “How I Spent My Last Holiday”

Here is a basic outline that will help you to write a good composition about how you spent your last holiday:

Introduction

You need to begin your essay with a catchy opening sentence that would grab your reader’s attention. Then quickly introduce the topic or purpose of your essay, and say where you went for the holiday and what you did.

Body Paragraphs

Just like you would do in the body of any other essay, divide your holiday experience into several key events or activities.

Then describe each event or activity in details in different paragraphs. Remember that, as much as possible, each paragraph should focus on a specific event or activity.

The number of paragraphs would depend on the number of words the essay is expected to cover.

Whatever the target word-count, ensure that your essay is vivid and engaging by using sensory details. It’s simple. Just describe what you saw, heard, smelled, tasted, and felt during each experience.

Then reflect on the significance or impact of each event or activity. How did it make you feel? What did you learn from it? Did it change your perspective on anything? And so on.

This is where you end your essay. A good conclusion would provide a brief summary of the key points of your essay, including the lessons you learned.

You can tell whether the holiday experience met your expectations, and how you feel about it even at the point of penning down your essay. Then state whether you plan to do anything in the future drawing inspiration from your holiday experience.

My Relaxing Holiday 200 Words

My last holiday was amazing! I did not travel to any new or interesting location, but I had a lot of fun staying home. I took time to enjoy early morning sleep every day. This alone felt like a treat after waking up early for school the entire term.

In the afternoons, I went outside to play with my friends. We played the soccer ball around in the park, and would enjoy pretending to famous athletes.

Sometimes during the holiday, it would rain. And when that happened, I just stayed inside and got cozy. I got a good book and devoured it with a mug of hot chocolate by my side. I also liked watching funny movies with my family and munching on popcorn.

In some evenings, we had barbecues in the backyard. We grilled hamburgers and hotdogs, while Dad told us stories about when he was a kid. I don’t think that anything can feel more special than spending so much time together.

Although I did not travel anywhere, my holiday was full of fun and relaxation. I feel recharged and ready to go back to school now!

My Last Holiday Adventure 250 Words

Since I have been spending my holidays, none had been as enjoyable as the last one. When we vacated last term, I spent two weeks at home in order to assist my parents in farm work. After this, I left for Onitsha in order to visit some places of interest.

I visited the modern and popular Niger bridge which links Onitsha and Asaba, Mid-West. I also visited the famous Onitsha Main Market. It has no rival in comparison in West Africa just as Ibadan Liberty Stadium has no comparison in West Africa. When I was being taken round the great Onitsha Main Market by a friend, I observed that traders in their respective stalls felt at home. Some of them tuned in their radio sets. They were happy.

I spent one week at Onitsha and departed for Enugu. When I was at Enugu I visited the Eastern Nigeria Parliament, and I saw Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe’s Statue just close to the house of Assembly. I also visited Enugu Airport and several other places of interest. I spent five days in Enugu and departed for Lagos by a train. “Lagos Limited”, and that was my first time of entering train. When I reached Lagos, I hardly believed that it was a town in Nigeria. It was very beautiful indeed just like London.

When I was in Lagos, I went to the House of Representatives, the Senate, National Stadium, Air- port, Tinubu Square and other places of interest.

I spent 5 days in Lagos and returned home to resume School. I wrote a story on all my observations in the journey.

My Last Holiday Essay 300 Words

Last summer, I went on a trip that I will not easily forget. This is because it meant much more to me than just a vacation; rather, my perception was changed.

I had never been in Thailand before the holiday but only heard of its beauty. Finally visiting the country made my holiday worthwhile. The place was so different from home! Their market was busy with many colorful items for sale and their food was so delicious. I tried several new and amazing dishes, and they were all lovely. While in Thailand, I couldn’t fail to notice how beautiful their temples are with roofs gold plated and other carvings done wonderfully.

I am an outdoor kind of person. That is why spending time in nature during my holiday made me very happy. Some days I would hike through forests while others would find me relaxing at the beach. On one fine morning, I woke up early to witness sunrise over New Zealand’s mountains. It was simply breathtaking and that made me feel alive.

Lastly, to add some holiday fun into it; i did some daring activities too. For instance, skydiving and bungee jumping were included in my itinerary. Although at first scared, it turned out pretty awesome! I learned that it’s good to challenge yourself and try new things sometimes.

Looking back on my last holiday, I feel very grateful for all the experiences I had. I discovered a lot of new things and also made new friends. Yes, the holiday is over, but the memories I made will stay with me forever.

From the samples above, you can see that the key to writing a good essay about your holiday is to engage your readers with descriptive details and thoughtful reflections.

Narrative Essay on How I spent my holiday

Holidays hold a special place in everyone’s life, offering a respite from the routine of daily tasks and providing an opportunity to explore, relax, and create unforgettable memories. This year, I decided to spend my holiday in a way that was both enriching and exhilarating. I ventured on a journey to a small coastal town, renowned for its pristine beaches, rich culture, and vibrant local life. This narrative essay unfolds the experiences, discoveries, and personal growth I encountered during my holiday.

The Journey Begins

My adventure commenced with the excitement of traveling to a place I had never visited before. The anticipation built up as I packed my bags, ensuring I had everything needed for a week of exploration. The journey to the coastal town was a scenic delight, with winding roads flanked by lush greenery and the occasional glimpse of the ocean’s horizon promising a serene escape.

Exploring the Coastal Town

Upon arrival, the beauty of the town exceeded my expectations. The air was filled with the salty breeze of the sea and the streets buzzed with the energy of daily life. My first day was spent wandering through the town, taking in the sights and sounds. I visited local markets, where I marveled at the craftsmanship of the artisans and indulged in the town’s culinary delights, tasting dishes that were a fusion of traditional recipes and the bounty of the sea.

The Heart of Nature

The following days were dedicated to exploring the natural wonders surrounding the town. I embarked on hikes through nearby trails, each revealing breathtaking views of the landscape. The highlight was a trek to a secluded beach, accessible only by a narrow path through the cliffs. The effort was rewarded with a serene beach, untouched by the hustle and bustle of tourist spots. Here, I spent hours swimming in the clear waters, reading under the shade of palm trees, and reflecting on the simple pleasures of life.

Cultural Immersion

My holiday was not just about relaxation but also about immersing myself in the local culture. I attended a traditional dance performance, where the rhythmic beats and expressive movements of the dancers told stories of the town’s history and folklore. I also participated in a cooking class, learning to prepare local dishes that combined fresh seafood with exotic spices, gaining not only culinary skills but also insights into the lifestyle and traditions of the people.

The Bond of Friendship

One of the most unexpected and rewarding aspects of my holiday was the friendships I formed. Whether it was conversations with local residents, sharing stories with fellow travelers, or the camaraderie with the host of my accommodation, these connections added depth to my experience. Through these interactions, I gained a richer understanding of the world from different perspectives, reminding me of the value of openness and the universal language of kindness.

Reflections and Realizations

As my holiday drew to a close, I found myself reflecting on the journey. Beyond the relaxation and enjoyment, it was a period of personal growth and learning. I had stepped out of my comfort zone, challenged myself to try new things, and embraced the unfamiliar. This holiday taught me the importance of slowing down, appreciating the moment, and the joy of discovering new places and cultures.

My holiday in the coastal town was more than just a break from routine; it was a journey of discovery, connection, and personal growth. It reminded me of the beauty of our world, the diversity of its people, and the shared experiences that bind us. As I returned home, I brought back not only souvenirs and photographs but memories that will last a lifetime and a renewed sense of adventure, ready to explore what lies beyond the horizon.

I had always wanted to play guitar. The instrument has always caught my fancy and is something that I had always wanted to own. After the exams, I requested my father for buying me a guitar which he very pleasingly accepted. Next, I joined a music class; fortunately, there was a music teacher in the same locality I live. Every single day of my vacation, I walked to the music class to learn guitar. Not a single class I missed. I must confess that playing guitar professionally isn’t easy; nevertheless, I enjoyed it as it was a passion.

Preparing in Advance

Apart from playing guitar I also prepared for the coming academic session. I had already purchased the books in advance and studied for a couple of hours every day. Though there was no compulsion on when to study, I preferred anytime during the noon as it was mostly quite. I planned it in such a way that I get some time to play after the music class.

Summer vacations are a part of the school schedule. Vacations will come every year, what’s important is how you spend them. The more usefully you spend your vacations, the more happy and content you would be.

Essay 2 (400 Words) – I Spent My Summer Vacation Visiting My Native Village

All of us spend summer vacations doing what we love the most. Some like to simply play at home while others prefer stepping out from the confines of their homes. I belong to the second type. I spent my last summer vacation in my native village and am more than happy that I did.

I Spent My Summer Vacation – Visiting My Native Village

My native village is quite a distance from the city. It is a five-hour journey by train through village landscapes. My grandparents stay there and my grandfather takes care of the fields and produces. I was ever excited to visit my village for more than one reason. The air is clean and the whole environment is so much relaxed in the villages that makes you slip immediately into the comfort zone.

I spent most of the time, visiting fields with my grandfather and learning from him about crops and the seasons they are produced in. I also played a lot with my village friends. It was routine every night to listen to a story from my grandmother and sink to sleep.

Meeting Old Friends and Making New Ones

Whenever I am in the village, I spare no time to meet my old friends. After reaching the village, and meeting my grandparents, I immediately set out to gather old friends. They knew about my arrival through word and mouth and were expecting me anytime. It was so good to see them after so long time. The best part was they were also having summer holidays, which meant that we could play for as much long as we want.

It was real fun to play with old friends. As it was the holiday season, some of my friends’ cousins were also there which gave me an opportunity to make new friends. When we got tired of playing, we chatted about our life and school. This conversation that we made helped me a lot in understanding the problems faced by my village friends. I hope that someday I will be able to help them and be a true friend. I also met the parents of my friends and was overwhelmed by the love that I got.

Visiting my village to spend the summer vacation was the best decision that I made and I am glad that I took it. I not only spent my vacation happily but also made new memories. It was a wonderful experience and had me feeling content at last.

Essay on How I Spent My Summer Vacation

Essay 3 (600 Words) – I went on a School Trip with Classmates This Summer

I love summer vacations and have lots of plans for it every year. I am also quite sure that every student like me loves summer vacation as I do. I will share in the essay, how I spent my last summer vacation and how it has enriched me personally.

A School Trip with Classmates

Last summer vacation, I had gone on a school trip to a distant historical monument, around 700 Km from the city. We started early as we had an early morning train to catch. It was a complete seven days trip away from home.

I remember that it was six in the morning when the school bus came to pick me up. It seemed that the entire world was still in sleep, but inside the bus, a completely different environment was witnessed. Everyone was fully awake and happy as well as excited. Nothing could beat the feeling of exams getting over and the vacations started. The trip was an additional bonus of happiness for everyone.

All of my classmates were present on the bus as well as a couple of teachers, including my class teacher. The teachers were chatting among themselves and the children were singing, chatting and laughing. All in all, it was a sight to behold and also the happiest moment I have had in months. Soon we reached the railway station and boarded the train.

Learning and Fulfilling Experience

A little before dusk we reached the place. Our teachers have already booked the rooms in a comfortable hotel, so we headed for the hotel as soon as we deboarded the train. The next morning we were off to the sightseeing. It was a big palace built around the 19th century by a King. The design of the palace as viewed from outside was breathtaking. Every part of it was screaming about the craftsmanship that was involved in building such a beautiful piece of art.

On the inside, the architecture was even more beautiful. To this day I very clearly remember every detail of the glass ceiling, the paintings and the large doors and windows. It was in all respect a King’s palace. We hired a guide as soon as we landed there. The guide was very experienced and learned. He told us about every detail, regarding the place and patiently answered all our questions.

After going through the palace I was feeling very happy and contended. It was probably the same feeling that you get when you learn something new. As if I had solved a puzzle or scored well in a test. I guess it was because I learned so much about the history of that place and the people who built it.

Lots of Fun and Enjoyment

The trip was great fun as after the tour of the place we were overwhelmed with good memories. We also played in its exceptionally large garden of the hotel. I love outdoor games and it was a pleasure to play with my classmates on bright sunny days. We played kho-kho and other games. We even had a sprint race and other competitions each day. Though I didn’t score in any game, nevertheless, it was fun to be a part of it.

After the games or the tour every day we sat together for lunch. Everyone was sharing food with everyone and it was a really good experience. We also took care not to dirty the place and dispose of every leftover or garbage in the dustbins. All the seven days of the school trip we visited a new place and enhanced our joy and knowledge.

Though the summer vacation was longer, the school trip is by far the most remarkable thing that I did during that period. I love the summer holidays and I have also the satisfaction of saying that I had spent my holiday in a fruitful and contending way. I learned and played with my classmates and in the supervision of respected teachers.

Essay on Winter Vacation in 150 Words

‘My winter vacation started right after Christmas, which was a two-week long vacation. Winter Vacation is my favourite time of the year, as we go New Year shopping, plan a trip to a hill station, and enjoy feasts like homemade cakes, cookies, pastries sweets, etc. On this winter vacation, I went to the city market to buy winter clothes with my parents. My father bought a denim jeans and a dungarees jacket for me, as were planning a trip to Mussoorie, the famous hill station.

Before me and my family left for our winter vacation trip, I completed all my winter homework and school assignments, so that I don’t have to worry about them after returning from our vacation. I took my brother’s help with mathematics homework and completed the remaining homework myself.

After that, we went on a 4-day family trip to Mussoorie, where we had quality time and played a lot. We were lucky enough to witness snowfall and my brother made a large snowman and snowballs and played for hours. Later, we went back to the hotel, where we had our tasty lunch and a bonfire. This was my this year’s winter vacation, which was full of excitement and surprises.’

Essay on Winter Vacation in 300 Words

‘Winter and summer vacations are my favourite time of the year, as we are free from academic pressure and don’t have to worry about school for the next couple of weeks. This year, my winter vacation started with an exciting activity, as I attended a wedding with my family in a different city. It was a short un-planned family trip where we had a lot of fun. Me and sister were excited to dine out at a highway restaurant, which was one of the memorable moments of my winter vacation. On our way to the wedding, I and my sister requested our father to stop at a highway restaurant, as were hungry.

Me and my sister ate a pizza and ice cream. After finishing our food, we were back on our way to the wedding. We greeted all our relatives and some of them gave us gifts. After returning from the wedding, I and my sister wanted to work on extracurricular activities, so our father enrolled us in dance classes. For the next 10 days, we were continuously working on our dancing skills, which was physically exhausting but interesting. As soon as we hit the dance floor, all we could do was wave our hands in the air and vibe with the music.

Another fun activity I did during this winter vacation was helping my mother with household chores. Our family has a custom of making Gajar ka Halwa every winter. I wanted to learn from my mother how it is prepared and the ingredients she uses to make it. Gajar ka halwa is one of my favourite sweets. Eating Gajar ka Halwa on a chilled January morning is one of my loving memories. I wish I could enjoy I little more of those family moments, where there is no school pressure, just fun and love. Now, I will plan for next year’s winter vacations, where me and my family can have a great time together.’

Introduction

We often see pictures of someone’s vacation on their social media profile. It is evident that people are becoming more interested in traveling these days. Visiting off-the-beaten-path destinations and interacting with the locals is my idea of the perfect holiday.

I would prefer to visit places that are less crowded, especially by tourists, on my ideal vacation. Due to the crowds at tourist attractions like Disneyland theme parks, many tourist attractions are very crowded. A place that is more peaceful is more appealing to me than one with crowds. As well as that, many popular attractions cost a lot of money.

100 Words Essay on My Favorite Holiday Destination In English

Malaysia is one of my favorite holiday destinations. The place is nice, the food is delicious, and the people are friendly. Known for its high buildings, such as KLCC, Malaysia has a lot to offer. Due to my hobby of photography, I have access to a good place to practice enhancing and boosting my skills. Apart from its famous KLCC, Malaysia is also known for its delicious food such as “Kacang Satay”.

There are many types of meat used in it, such as chicken, beef, rabbit, etc. You will be served this dish with rice and sauce. There is a very secret recipe for this delicious sauce to dip. When I visited for the first time, the people were friendly to me. They take me to Genting Highland to relax and treat me to a meal. Playgrounds are available for everyone, and a rest area is available as well.

150 Essay on My Favorite Holiday Destination In Hindi

I love going to Gangtok for the holidays. My main trip is in Feb / March / Apr every year, or alternately every other year. Natural beauty and chilling weather are what I like about there. There are clouds all around, creating a feeling of heaven

There are many super hotels in the city, and the city administration is well-organized with proper support for tourists, as well as easy transportation for tourists to explore the side streets. Normally, hotel rooms with double beds cost between Rs 300 and 800/day. It is recommended to spend between Rs 1000 and Rs 3000 a day on deluxe beds. Due to my lack of experience, I cannot provide rates for super deluxe hotels.

A few km from Gangtok you will find the Baba Mandir and Tsonga Lake (Changu). In February / March, the lake looks gorgeous because it is completely frozen. With deep valleys passing by on the way to Changu lake, the journey is also very exciting. As well as Lachung, I visited Yangthum Valley in Lachung. In winter, the Valley highways are closed due to heavy snowfall, so you must travel there in late March or April.

Each and every one of us likes to travel, and we all have a dream location that we would like to visit once in our lives. Traveling to Australia once in a lifetime is my dream destination. In addition to its beautiful beaches, Australia’s culture and mouth-watering food would make me want to visit there. Here are some of the things that make Australia my dream destination.

In Australia, you can see the Great Barrier Reef, botanical gardens, beaches, and forests, among other things.

One of Australia’s top tourist attractions is its Great Ocean Road, Kakadu National Park, Blue Mountains, Fraser Island in Queensland, Heide Museum of Modern Art, Harbor Bridge in Sydney, and Opera House in Sydney, among others. The best places to visit in the country include the Heide Museum of Modern Art and Harbor Bridge.

Scuba diving is available at the Great Barrier Reef, ballooning over the Yarra Valley, diving in Sea World, skiing in snowy mountains, and skydiving in Melbourne are places for adventure enthusiasts as well. In addition to Chapel Street Melbourne, Pitt Street mall Sydney, Queen Street Mall Brisbane, King Street Perth, and Rundle mall Adelaide, Australia also has some shopping destinations. Furthermore, the country organizes a variety of cultural and music festivals.

Top Holiday Destination in 2022 with low Cost

My favorite destinations are several. Here are a few of my favorite places.

Upon entering this cosmopolitan city, I was struck by its architecture. Gaudi deserves thanks. His unique and eccentric architectural gems greet us everywhere he goes. I cannot believe how he could think such things, regardless of whether he is a genius It’s all explained in Sagrada Familia. explains everything. Consequently, the Roman archaeological sites, museums, and neighborhood beaches looked attractive. The tapas bars were my favorite place to eat culinary delights.

Netherlands

In my area, there is no lake at all. My desire to discover how Amsterdam’s life revolves around the lakes led me to visit Amsterdam last year. The capital of the Netherlands offered me a truly amazing and unique experience. We also appreciated the locals’ friendliness and ease of conversation. Bicycle around this city like a local. There were just no words to describe the splendor of sunsets at the lakes. It also looked like a paradise with its blossoming tulips and green pastures.

In planning my trip to this country, I had no great expectations. The country is beautiful, and I soon realized this once I arrived there. Diverse cultures coexist. The natural wonders of this country, in addition to its beautiful beaches, will make anyone want to return again and again. Most of all, I was taken into a different world when I visited the country’s capital Dubrovnik. Culturally and architecturally, it’s one of the most amazing places on earth. My previous imagines of this great nation were swept away by Diocletian’s Palace in Split.

My favorite destination is certainly there. Paris’ Eiffel tower attracts many visitors, as does Milan’s fashion scene. Paris, Eiffel, and Milan are not all that this melodious country has to offer. It is unnecessary to discuss these seductive cities of France since everyone knows everything there is to know about them. The beautiful hilltop villages set among the wonderful scenery of nature were a favorite aside from architectural heritage and culture. The high Alps are just the beginning of what you can do on holiday in France. The ski resort is one of the best in the world. The mood of a holiday is heightened by great wines.

Conclusion,

We often get stuck in routines in our daily lives. It is nearly universally preferred to take a break and spend a vacation in a place away from cities, preferably near nature. In this idyllic location, you can escape daily life’s bustle and stress. Depending on one’s perception of a perfect vacation destination, each person’s dream vacation can be different.

A warm, sunny beach with gentle ocean breezes is the dream of some people. Trekkers may imagine snowcapped mountains while hiking, while others may imagine forests and wildlife. Many aspects of our lives and experiences are reflected in such dreams about vacations. A vacation dream symbolizes the desire to take a break from daily life and go on a trip.

Snow falling is a beautiful scene to enjoy in winter. Many people visit different tourist places where they can enjoy such a view. Because it is too cold, the office and school slow down and people prefer to stay home.

Winter morning is a beautiful part of the season. Mornings are different based on the city or village . In the village, people normally get up early in the morning, but in the winter season the sun comes late and that’s why people also get out from their blanket late.

The domestic animals stay at their castle. Sometimes some young people gather papers and make a fire to make the environment warm. You will find many elderly people besides that type of fire.

In the cities, the people who live in the street face many problems because they don’t have proper clothes and shelter.

Many people arrange a picnic in this season and I think it’s the perfect time for arranging a tour. Last year, I visited Darjeeling with my family .
