Please note that our UK products and policy wordings have been updated for new business and renewals with an effective date of 1st April 2022 and onwards. You can view all new product documentation on the  Document Centre .

Changes applicable to all products

The following general changes are applicable to all policy wordings  

  • We've added in information regarding what happens at renewal including a statement to explain that the policy does not auto renew (not applicable to HomeWorks or PropertyWorks as these are fixed term policies)
  • We've included updates to website links containing information of the insurers
  • We've updated the website link for our Privacy Policy
  • We've added in the definitions for 'flood' and 'storm' which are now in bold where shown elsewhere within the wording.

UK Product Updates effective April 2021

B Please note that our policy wordings have been updated for new business and renewals with an effective date of 1st April 2021 and onwards. You can view all new product documentation on the  Document Centre .   Here's a summary of the key updates per product available on the Plum Online Portal:  

  • Increase from £25,000 to £30,000 under definition of building works
  • Property in the open increased from £1,000 to £2,000
  • Money increased from £750 to £1,000
  • Credit Cards increased from £500 to £1,000
  • Pedal Cycles increased from £500 to £750
  • Contents in garage and outbuildings increased from £5,000 to £7,500
  • Increase number of days within the unoccupied definition from 30 to 60 days
  • Increase of trace and access limit from £5,000 to £7,500
  • Infectious or contagious diseases exclusion added
  • Removed all references to rent guarantee cover as this is no longer available (option to have cover was removed from new business in March 2020 and from renewals in July 2020)
  • We've updated Section 4: Legal Liability to the Public to make it clearer we cover for bodily injury and damage to property caused by accidents at the premises only

  • Increase from £25,000 to £30,000 under definition of building works 
  • Under definition ‘contents does not include’ we've added the following exclusion: Contents in the open
  • Under ‘general exclusions’ we've added an additional bullet point (for loss or damage due to the failure or lack of grouting or sealant)
  • Travel Cover was no longer available from 1sy July 2020 so this section has now been removed from the wording
  • Under Section 2 Contents Special Extensions we've made it clearer that cover restricted to a maximum of £15,000 for any one period of insurance

  • We've updated the wording & schedules to note Legal Insurance Management Limited as the claims contact for Home Emergency (cover is still underwritten by AmTrust Europe Limited)  

HomeWorks & PropertyWorks

  • Infectious or contagious diseases exclusion added 

Here's a summary of the key updates per product available on EDI software houses:

  • Under Section 1 Buildings and Section 2 Contents – Accidental Damage removed under ‘what is not covered’ point d (shown as point e under Section 2: Contents): for damage while the home is lent, let or sublet
  • Increased unoccupied definition to 30 consecutive days 
  • We've updated General Condition 11: Inspection of the Premises Whilst the Home is Tenanted to include the following sentence: ‘This includes if the home is let to friends and/or your family members’
  • We've updated Claim Conditions point K) Tenancy Agreement to make it clearer that the condition is applicable also if the property is rented to friends and family
