Now to start off with, if you are planning on watching this film expecting another typical war movie, then you might be disappointed! This surreal Russian film is more about courage and mental torture of war, with battle scenes taking a back seat.

Every war produces myths and legends, and WWII is no exception. The 2012 film White Tiger examines just such a wartime legend. This is a Russian action film directed by Karen Shakhnazarov.

The White Tiger is The Flying Dutchman of the Russian front and seems to materialize out of nowhere to wreak destruction. The coda to the story is a haunting scene whereby we get to eavesdrop on Hitler as he partakes of a brandy with a confidant, sharing his convictions about the black heart of mankind.
