When the Lahore resolution was accepted, Indian newspapers and Hindu leaders have to talk against it. The very next day, Partaab, Malapa, Tribune, and many other Indian newspapers have named Lahore resolution into Resolution of Pakistan even there was no single word “Pakistan” was used in that 23rd March 1940 resolution.

Speech On 23rd March 1940 In Urdu Essay Pakistan Resolution Day

In the presidential speech of 21st March, Quaid-e-Azam said that ‘Hindu and Muslims belong to two different religious, cultural and educational histories. These two nations can’t tie the knot to each other even they can’t sit together. Life and the concept of living are totally different from each other. Besides this both have different heroes and histories, both have changed perspectives. It is wrong to merge these nations into one nation. Muslims are a separate nation, whatever is the definition of a nation, and Muslims are ebbed to a separate nation so they should have a separate country and homeland where the government should be in their own hands. Pakistan was come into being when the first Hindu embraced Islam. This is the talk of that time when Muslims hadn’t built their empire. Muslim’s nationality is based on the Kalma Tauheed instead of homeland or cast.

After the commencement of this resolution, the attempt of Muslims to the establishment of Pakistan was properly shaped and they became more aggressive. Sacrifices of our ancestors, women, and children for the sake of separation of Pakistan have proved that they are a Muslim nation and deserve a homeland where they can spend their lives according to the Islamic concepts of life. So, we can say that this revolution boosted the spirits of Muslims and in the end, Pakistan became an independent state on 14th August 1947.

Sir Saeed Ahmad Khan, Maulana Abdul Halim Shar, Maulana Muhammad Ali Johar, Professor Muhammad Azad, Sir Sultan Muhammad Agha Khan, Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanvi, Allama Muhammad Iqbal, and Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah are just a few of the great personalities. Heroes who fought bravely for the freedom of Pakistan from the British and Hindus. As a result of all their cooperation, Pakistan will appear on the world map.

Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah tells the meeting of Muslim University Aligarh on 23 March 1940 that Pakistan was established on the same day that the first Hindus accepted Islam in India. There was no Muslim government at that time. Kalima Tayyaba is the sole foundation of Muslim nationhood. It is not based on race or color. After Hindus converted to Islam, India experienced the birth of a new nation. The 23 March 1940 Pakistan Resolution Day Urdu and English Speech can get here.

What ideologies do both nations believe in? How different our religion, culture, society, customs, and traditions are from theirs does not require math or calculations because it is very clear and simple. Before British rule, when Muslim kings invaded the Indian subcontinent, they were greeted with warmth, kindness, and love. Yet they have been there for nearly ten centuries. On the occasion of Pakistan Resolution Day on 23 March 1940, a speech was delivered in both Urdu and English in all schools.

Adil-ud-Din Muhammad bin Qasim invaded Sindh via Dibal and founded the Islamic Republic which lasted for four years and was governed by Islamic law. Hindus wanted the order of this era to remain in their own country because they are very happy with it. The fact that some Indians have been mentioned in “History of India, and “Islamic Influence on Indian Culture” contributed greatly to the success of Indians in persuading him.

But the Indians persisted in avoiding the Muslims every time. For example, consider the sentence “Ram knife and mouth next.” The attitude of the Hindus is that of hypocrites and in the seventeenth century in 1659 when the Adil ruler sent General Afzal Khan with an army of ten thousand to invade Karnataka where a plan was made to kill the chieftain of Shivaji and he prepared the plan. First, his message of peace was sent and Afzal Khan went to meet with two friends then they got mixed up and were killed with a knife by the Hindu Shivaji who is this time the great leader of the Indians. An English-Urdu speech was delivered on Pakistan Resolution Day on March 23, 1940.

The British were alarmed because it was alienating the government from the Muslims, so they began to support it in every aspect of life, including education, and they preferred Indians over Indian Muslims. For this reason, they considered dividing the country and worked very hard.

After that, on March 23, 1940, a separate concept of the kingdom was presented at the political level in Minar Pakistan Lahore. It is also known as the Pakistan Resolution Day Speech in Urdu and English, and it was successful in this endeavor. We are sure that many of you would not be well aware of the main idea behind the resolution day and how much of the efforts and struggles have been put together in achieving this day. In real terms, Pakistan start existing in this world the day the very first Hindu turned into Muslims. On 23rd March 1940, it was much confirmed that Muslims were in the need of a separate homeland as they desire to live with complete freedom and attain their own rules to follow the country. This day is special in the sense that Muslims gather at one platform by showing the best unity and brotherhood impression. They basically want an Islamic independent country place.

Now, you would be thinking about in mind that why this day is so much important just on the fact that so many of the Muslims gather on one platform and that’s all! Resolution Day is in real terms the day when the Muslims put all of their efforts into achieving the homeland which they deserve the most. For the Muslims, this is the day when Allah showers all his blessings on them. Allah created this nation as unique and independent so no one slaves to anyone. It is the mark of the successful constitutional transition of Pakistan just as from the dominion to the Islamic Republic that turns out to be the world’s first Islamic republic.

23 March 1940 Pakistan Resolution Day Speech in English

Now let’s turn the pages of history and take you back to the historical background of 23rd March 1940. This is one such day on which each single Muslim and Pakistani show an extreme level of respect. Muslim League gathered in Minto Park Lahore. The resolution was started on 23 rd March and Muslims fight for it till 24 th March. But 23rd March is the main day when the resolution was actually started off.  On this day our respectable leader addresses the Muslims and provokes them with the spirit to fight for a separate homeland.  He had always hit the minds of Muslims on the fact that Hindu and Muslims are two separate nations and there is nothing that can be perceived to be common between the two of them.  At the end of this entire struggle, our leader Muhammad Ali Jinnah is conformed that and signature that Pakistan is now a separate country.

23 March Quotes, SMS

For the children, 23rd March 1940 Resolution Day importance has to be taught in schools so that at just a small age they can deliver the best celebration and show their real patriotism.

Muhammad Ali Jinnah while in an address 23 March 1940 Pakistan Resolution Day Speech stated that:

“ We needs separate nation because we want to develops to the fullest spiritual, cultural, economic social and political life in our way as we want to do this and as we think that it is better for us and we are lived happily how what rules we applied it which we are lived happily in what type of rule ”.

Muhammad Ali Jinnah further stated in one of his speeches that:

“ We are all Pakistani and loved Pakistan and our father of nation Muhammad Ali Jinnah and listing her word own her own voice and we remember her all speech what he says us about the unity and Pakistan and says that we are great to all. Muslims and encourage that he says that the Muslims are bear every difficult and face every difficult and we also need more and more sacrifices for the independence and our independence never fruitless “.

The reason that why resolution day success was important was basically the differences that do comes over between the two nations. Both of the nations, Hindu and Muslims follow two different religions. They do come up with differences in respect with the philosophies, social custom, and leather.  They neither make their way into the marry or dine. Hindu are idol worship but the Muslims are the worship, Allah. In the same way, Hindu are worship cows but the Muslims eat the meat of cows. Hindu had a belief in so many dogs and Muslims are believed in only one God. So how can both nations live together under one shelter?

Moving to the end, we can never overlook or deny the valuable importance of the 23rd March 1940 Resolution Day for the Muslims. This day does make them realize that they have a feeling of patriotism and devotion to achieve something that is in favor of their rights and a successful future.

23 March Pakistan Day Speech in English Essay Resolution Day

This 23 date in month of March is an important one in the history of Pakistan. This is remembered as Republic day or Pakistan Resolution day. This day is celebrated to remember the efforts and the achievements of the Muslims of sub-continents. On this date, our great leader Muhammad Ali Jinnah gave the historic speech and presented the idea of a separate nation. Before this resolution accepted, the Muslims of sub-continent had no hope, no goals, no views and no future. Moreover, the Muslim politicians were remained in the hands of people with conflicting inclinations and interests. As the Muslim League passed the resolution, the Hindu correspondents began condemning and starts calling it Pakistan Resolution.

Hindus also criticized Mohammad Ali Jinnah and the other prominent leaders of that time. The purpose of mentioning these sacrifices is that our leaders and forerunner faced a lot of criticism and made endless efforts to give us an Islamic independent state.

So 23 rd march is the day of pride, day of feelings for every Pakistani as on this day a dream of an independent state was laid for Muslims so that they can live on the teachings of Islam, can freely follow their culture, traditions and have their own life style. On this day all the Muslims gathered together on one platform to raise voice for Resolution whether they had different mindset, speaks different languages or belong to different cultures and due to their efforts they were accepted as a separate state.

Every year this day is celebrated with full zeal and zest and people of Pakistan express their love and feelings for their beloved land. Now it is the time to again show unity that our leaders had made. Followed by 23 rd March, 1940 Pakistan became the first ever nation to become the first Muslim Republic of the world on March 23 rd 1956. Therefore this date in this month had two important events.

Pakistan

From last so many years a public holiday is announced every years, military parade is also arranged to pay tribute and salute for all the ones who paid their role for independence of Pakistan. On this day every single Pakistani should make a promise to work for the betterment of Pakistan as our Quaid dreamed. In addition, should also make steps to free this country from the menace of extremism and militancy which has ruined our country badly.

Furthermore, on this day we must consider all causes of the destruction and make a strategy to eliminate them from the society and also take an action against the people who are destroying the Pakistan’s sovereignty, against the fraudulent people, injustice and terrorism to bring peace and give a good message across the world.

23rd March Speech in English

Pakistan Resolution Day, 23rd March 1940, is one of the most significant and instrumental days in the history of Pakistan. This is a day to remember the struggles undertaken by the Muslim leaders of the subcontinent. Today, the citizens of modern day Pakistan commemorate this day to immortalize its significance and value in their history.

Respected Sir and all my fellows:

After the Lahore resolution was passed, Quaid e Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah became the most important Muslim leader of the whole subcontinent. Muslims recognized Quaid as the shepherd that will lead the Muslims to their own separate nation. He became a nationwide inspiration for Muslim to wake up from their reveries of a sunken past, and begin striving for complete and total independence from the Hindus and the British.

Respected All,

Pakistan Resolution, passed in Minto Park of Lahore, gave Muslims a rational, reachable and desirable goal: the creation of Pakistan . It served to release the fire of Independence in the hearts of the Muslims, who were all eager to make their contribution in achieving a free Muslim state, Pakistan .

That day, Quaid-e-Azam provided Muslims with a clear-cut and well-defined goal that was understood even by the simplest and most naive of Muslim minds. The call to independence was answered by a unanimous awakening that altered the course of history, and the geographic structure of the subcontinent.

When we look back at 23rd March speech of our Quaid Muhammad Ali Jinnah, we are reminded of the fact that it was this day that the great nation we live in today was created in the minds of our forefathers.

In the ending lines, I would like to urge all Pakistanis to remember the spirit, the message of 23 rd March 1940 when our forefathers vowed to achieve Pakistan, a separate country for Muslims. Now it becomes our responsibility to be united, serve and save Pakistan.

23 March Essay in English

March 23 rd , 1940 is a remarkable day in the history of Pakistan. That day, Muslims of South Asia told the world that they want nothing but recognition as a separation nation, the Muslims, and a separate country to live in freely, Pakistan .

The All-India Muslim League emerged as the major Muslim party that would lead to the creation of Pakistan. It was Pakistan Resolution Day, 23rd March 1940 when Mohammad Ali Jinnah became the Quaid-e-Azam he later came to be known as. That day he became that passionate symbol of unwavering strength that fueled the fire of Muslim unity, to the extent that the Muslims began to consider M.A Jinnah as an institution within in himself.

Before the Pakistan Resolution Day 23rd March, 1940, Jinnah’s political decisions highlighted his lifelong dream of seeing the Muslims and Hindus of the subcontinent working together, understanding each other and forming a unanimous political voice to make “ their common motherland ” one of “ the great countries of the world ”.

The Lahore Resolution marked a dynamic shift as the world saw Jinnah abandon this dream as he left Delhi to travel to Lahore in a beautifully decorated train adorned with green flags, and the crescent and star, the emblem of the Muslim League.

He chose the opening day as the occasion to address a huge public gathering of Muslim Leaguers and the Khaksars , all gathered at Minto Park to make Jinnah the leader who will guide them towards a more secure future in the subcontinent.

The man, Jinnah , who was once famous as the ambassador of Hindu-Muslim unity now became the greatest leader who feverishly advocated the Muslim’s right to self-rule and independence.

He was now the great leader of Pakistan movement, and soon it was clear to everyone, the British leadership, Gandhi, Nehru and Azad amongst others, that they have no choice but to agree to the two-nation solution; and Jinnah was resolved to achieve.

After the Pakistan Resolution Day, 23rd March 1940, it was evident to all Hindu leaders that they must submit their will to the creation of a neighboring Muslim state, which will be fully equipped to deal with them with a strong diplomatic agenda.

23 March 1940 was the day when Muslims truly gathered at a platform to make Pakistan and under Quaid’s unwavering leadership, our forefathers saw the historical moments of creation of Pakistan.

Now it’s our responsibility to endeavour for Pakistan’s prosperity and development.

May ALLAH save our beloved country Pakistan!

Pakistan Resolution Day – Notes

Shortly after the creation of Pakistan, the leadership of the country decided to give the Lahore Resolution the true significance its memory deserves, and it was named as the Pakistan Resolution Day. A day that is commemorated and celebrated all over the country to keep the memory of the struggles our great leaders and forefathers bore to create this great nation.

Pakistan Resolution Day, 23rd March 1940, is a day that is celebrated with great zest and zeal all over the country, and by the Pakistanis residing abroad all over the world. The historic Minto Park, where the Lahore Resolution took place, was also renamed as Iqbal Park, and it is one of the most prized jewels of Lahore, the city of gardens. It is also the home to Minar-e-Pakistan, a historical abode that pays tribute to the memory of all the Muslims and their leaders who gathered up on 23rd March 1940 and demanded a separate state, along with all the suffering and hardships that came during creation of Pakistan.

It is a powerfully significant and instrumental day in our history, and every single time we look back at it, we can feel the might of the zest and valor of the Muslims who decided to put all their efforts and energies into the struggle of Independence, and the creation of their own independent state.

Pakistan Resolution Day, 23rd March 1940 is a day that tells the story of success, determination, and unwavering courage against the resistance put up by the Hindus and the British.

Today, 23 March, also known as Republic Day, serves as one of the most important dates in the history of Pakistan. Even though it took the Muslims seven more years to achieve this iconic dream that altered the world map forever, it was this day that marked the creation of Pakistan as a realistic, reasonable and justified demand. Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the other Muslim leaders who advocated and passed this resolution threw dirt in the face of all the Hindu leaders, including Gandhi, Nehru, and Azad, who ridiculed the idea of dividing India into two different states.

Pakistan Resolution Day serves as the reminder of the dynamic leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

It was the foresight and competence of Jinnah to fight for the Muslim’s right to independence. It was the power of his voice as he addressed millions of Muslims, and urged them to fight for their own independent nation.

23 March History of Pakistan in English

The Pakistan Resolution, earlier known as the Lahore Resolution, took place in Lahore’s famous Minto Park (currently known as Iqbal Park). It is a national holiday, a Republic day that is admired by Pakistanis all over the world for its significance in in the history and creation of Pakistan.

The ideology developed on 23 rd March took forward the idea of a separate state for the Muslims garnering the unwavering support of Muslims and their leaders throughout the subcontinent. It was the day that Pakistan became a crystal clear necessity for the Muslims, and it was a major milestone in the creation of the first Islamic Republic in the world.

Before this auspicious day, the Muslims had little idea or objective for their future, as Muslim leaders and politicians were all pursuing conflicted interests and goals. However, when the Muslim League took the center-stage by passing the Lahore Resolution, it sent a clear message to the Hindu Press, which started criticizing and ridiculing the idea of Pakistan.

The session of Pakistan Resolution Day, 23rd March 1940 was opened by the presentation of Nawabzada Liaquat’s annual report, after which Bengal’s Maulana Fazlul Haq passed the famous Lahore Resolution, which later became famous as the Pakistan Resolution.

“The areas in which the Muslims are numerically in a majority as in the North-Western and Eastern zones of India should be grouped to constitute ‘Independent States’ in which the constituent units shall be autonomous and sovereign.”

Choudhry Khaliquzzaman then stepped forward to second this resolution, along with giving the Muslims a brief overview of all the reasons and causes that compel them to demand a separate and independent state that is not subjected to any scrutiny or interference by any other power. All the Muslim leaders, including M.A Jinnah, Maulana Zafar Ali Khan, Sardar Aurangzeb Khan, Sir Abdullah Haroon, Nawab Ismail Khan, Qazi Mohammad Isa and I.I Chundigar amongst others, supported and advocated this resolution.

That day Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah laid the foundation for the separate Muslim state that would dispossess the Hindus the right to subjugate and suppress the Muslims of India.

In his 23 March speech, he said:

“The Hindus and the Muslims belong to two different religions, philosophies, social customs, and literature. They neither inter-marry, nor inter-dine together, and indeed they belong to two different civilizations which are based mainly on conflicting ideas and conceptions. Their aspects of life are different. It is quite clear that Hindus and Muslims derive their inspirations from different sources of history. They have different epics, their heroes are different, and they have different episodes. Very often the hero of one is a foe of the other, and likewise, their victories and defeats overlap. To yoke together two such nations under a single state, one as a numerical minority and the other as a majority must lead to growing discontent and the final destruction of any fabric that may be so built for the government of such a state.”

Jinnah’s address lasted for 100 minutes, and with every pause in his speech, Minto Park was pounded by the thunderous applause of the millions and millions of Muslims who had gathered to hear their leader plan out the future course of political action. It is interesting to note that the majority of his audience, more than 100,000 people, did not even understand Jinnah’s 23rd March speech in English, they would still be captivated and visibly touched by every single word he uttered. His repetitive assertions to create a separate Muslim nation led the Muslims of the subcontinent to believe that they were indeed “ a nation by any definition ”.

That Pakistan Day Speech by Jinnah and other Muslim leaders left Congress terrified of the power that Muslims of the subcontinent were emerging to become. It had become crystal clear that the Muslim League was now openly advocating the right for a separate Muslim state, which would naturally divide India and create two independent states. Jinnah had already taken the necessary steps to counter this Hindu opposition towards the idea of creating Pakistan, and he steered the Muslims with a courageous, iron determination, compelling them to seek the ultimate goal of political, spiritual and financial freedom.

Mr Jinnah’s friends and family who truly understood the man always believe that once this powerful man made his man, nothing on this planet could deter him from pursuing it. On that incredibly important and powerful afternoon of 23rd March 1940, Jinnah made some momentous and crowd-gripping pronouncements, and even though it would take seven more years for the rest of the world to truly understand and glorify Jinnah’s words. For the Muslims, it poured into their hearts the light of freedom and they knew that now, there is no turning back.

It was the unshakable leadership of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and the firm dedication of Muslims of South Asia toward their goal which we saw on 14 August, 1947 in the form of Pakistan.

UN establishes International Day of reflection for Srebrenica genocide

The UN General Assembly on Thursday designated 11 July as the International Day of Reflection and Commemoration of the 1995 Genocide in Srebrenica, in which at least 8,372 people were killed, thousands displaced and whole communities destroyed.

Adopting a resolution with the same title, the Assembly also asked the Secretary-General to establish an outreach programme on the Srebrenica genocide in preparation for the 30th anniversary next year.

It further condemned any denial of the Srebrenica genocide as a historical event and called on Member States to preserve the established facts, including through their educational systems, towards preventing denial and distortion, and any occurrence of genocide in the future.

The text, sponsored by Germany and Rwanda, was adopted by a recorded vote of 84 nations in favour, 19 against and 68 abstentions .

The massacre in Srebrenica

The massacre in Srebrenica marked one of the darkest chapters of the war that erupted after the breakup of former Yugoslavia.

In July 1995, the Bosnian Serb army overran Srebrenica, which was previously declared a safe area by the Security Council , and brutally murdered thousands of men and teenagers there, and expelled 20,000 people from the town.

A small and lightly armed unit of Dutch peacekeepers under the UN flag were unable to resist the Bosnian Serb force.

The brutal killings of Bosnian Muslims in Srebrenica by the army of Republika Srpska was recognized as an act of genocide by the International Court of Justice ( ICJ ) as well as the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia ( ICTY ).

Firmly against denial

Volker Türk, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, welcomed the resolution as “further recognition” of the victims and survivors, and their pursuit of justice, truth and guarantees of non-recurrence.

“The resolution is all the more important given the persistent revisionism, denial of the Srebrenica genocide and hate speech by high-level political leaders in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as in neighbouring countries ,” he said in a statement .

He also underscored the responsibility of political leaders in the region to engage in constructive dialogue to build peaceful societies “where people can live safely and freely, without discrimination or fear of conflict and violence”.

Germany: To honour victims

Ambassador Antje Leendertse of Germany introducing the draft resolution at the General Assembly.

Introducing the draft resolution, Antje Leendertse, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Germany to the UN, said that the initiative was about honouring the victims and supporting survivors, “who continue to live with scars of that fateful time”.

The text is modelled on the General Assembly resolution that designated 7 April as the International Day of Reflection on the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda.

“It also underscores the role of international courts in fighting impunity and ensuring accountability for genocide, and contains language against genocide denial and glorification of perpetrators,” she added.

She also spoke against “false allegations”, stating that the resolution “is not directed against anybody”.

“Not against Serbia, a valued member of this Organization. If at all, it is directed against perpetrators of the genocide,” Ambassador Leendertse added.

“I therefore invite everybody to judge the text on its merits and to support our call to commemorate and reflect on what happened in Srebrenica almost thirty years ago.”

Serbia: A Pandora’s box

President Aleksandar Vučić of Serbia addressing the General Assembly on the draft resolution.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić labelled the text “highly politicized” saying it would “open a Pandora’s box”.

The draft resolution “was hidden” by its authors, he said, adding that it lacked an inclusive process compared with “the resolution for Rwanda”, which was prepared in a “very transparent way”.

He recalled discussions over the issue at the Security Council in March.

“When we wanted to discuss the bombing of Serbia in 1999, they said to us ‘don’t look at the past, look at the future – it happened 25 years ago’. Two days after that, we found out that they were preparing this kind of resolution relating to events even four years prior to [1999],” he said.

“When they have some needs – political needs, they can go deep into the past. When someone else is referring to the past, in that case the facts – they don’t matter.”

With verdicts and convictions already delivered through the judicial process, the resolution would now only deepen divisions and lead to instability, President Vučić added.

“This is not about reconciliation, not about memories, this is something that will just open an old wound and create complete political havoc. Not only in our region, but even here, in this hall”, he argued.
