  • Parenthetical citations : (Bologna, 2019; Roberts, 2020; Toner, 2020)
  • Narrative citations : Bologna (2019), Roberts (2020), and Toner (2020)
  • Use this format for articles from news websites. Common examples are BBC News, BET News, Bloomberg, CNN, HuffPost, MSNBC, Reuters, Salon, and Vox. These sites do not have associated daily or weekly newspapers.
  • Use the newspaper article category for articles from newspaper websites such as The New York Times or The Washington Post .
  • Provide the writer as the author.
  • Provide the specific date the story was published.
  • Provide the title of the news story in italic sentence case.
  • List the name of the news website in the source element of the reference.
  • End the reference with the URL.

2. Comment on a webpage on a news website

Owens, L. (2020, October 7). I propose a bicycle race between Biden and Trump [Comment on the webpage Here’s what voters make of President Trump’s COVID-19 diagnosis ]. HuffPost. https://www.spot.im/s/00QeiyApEIFa

  • Parenthetical citation : (Owens, 2020)
  • Narrative citation : Owens (2020)
  • Credit the person who left the comment as the author using the format that appears with the comment (i.e., a real name and/or a username). The example shows a real name.
  • Provide the specific date the comment was published.
  • Provide the comment title or up to the first 20 words of the comment in standard font. Then in square brackets write “Comment on the webpage” and the title of the webpage on which the comment appeared in sentence case and italics.
  • Provide the name of the news website in the source element of the reference.
  • Link to the comment itself if possible. Otherwise, link to the webpage on which the comment appears. Either a full URL or a short URL is acceptable.

3. Webpage on a website with a government agency group author

National Institute of Mental Health. (2018, July). Anxiety disorders . U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, National Institutes of Health. https://www.nimh.nih.gov/health/topics/anxiety-disorders/index.shtml

  • Parenthetical citation : (National Institute of Mental Health, 2018)
  • Narrative citation : National Institute of Mental Health (2018)
  • For a page on a government website without individual authors, use the specific agency responsible for the webpage as the author.
  • The names of parent agencies not present in the author element appear in the source element (in the example, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, National Institutes of Health). This creates concise in-text citations and complete reference list entries.
  • Provide as specific a date as possible for the webpage.
  • Some online works note when the work was last updated. If this date is clearly attributable to the specific content you are citing rather than the overall website, use the updated date in the reference.
  • Do not include a date of last review in a reference because content that has been reviewed has not necessarily been changed. If a date of last review is noted on a work, ignore it for the purposes of the reference.
  • Italicize the title of the webpage.

4. Webpage on a website with an organizational group author

World Health Organization. (2018, May 24) . The top 10 causes of death . https://www.who.int/news-room/fact-sheets/detail/the-top-10-causes-of-death

  • Parenthetical citation : (World Health Organization, 2018)
  • Narrative citation : World Health Organization (2018)
  • For a page from an organization’s website without individual authors, use the name of the organization as the author.
  • Because the author of the webpage and the site name are the same, omit the site name from the source element to avoid repetition.

5. Webpage on a website with an individual author

Entire website - no separate pages or sections, page or section from a website.

Note: For your Works Cited list, all citations should be double spaced and have a hanging indent.

A "hanging indent" means that each subsequent line after the first line of your citation should be indented by 0.5 inches.

It can sometimes be difficult to find out who the author of a website is. Remember that an author can be a corporation or group, not only a specific person. Author information can sometimes be found under an "About" section on a website.

If there is no known author, start the citation with the title of the website instead.

The best date to use for a website is the date that the content was last updated. Otherwise look for a copyright or original publication date. Unfortunately this information may not be provided or may be hard to find. Often date information is put on the bottom of the pages of a website.

If you do not know the complete date, put as much information as you can find. For example you may have a year but no month or day. If the source does not include a copyright/last modified date, then omit the date and include an access date in your citation instead.

Access Date

Date of access is optional in MLA 8th/9th edition; it is recommended for pages that may change frequently or that do not have a copyright/publication date.

In your works cited list, abbreviate months as follows:

January = Jan. February = Feb. March = Mar. April = Apr. May = May June = June July = July August = Aug. September = Sept. October = Oct. November = Nov. December = Dec.

Spell out months fully in the body of your paper.

Author, or compiler name (if available).  Title of Website,  Name of Organization Affiliated with the Website, Date of copyright or date last modified/updated, URL. Accessed access date.

How to Cite a Website in MLA | Format & Examples

Published on July 17, 2019 by Shona McCombes . Revised on March 5, 2024.

An MLA website citation includes the author’s name , the title of the page (in quotation marks), the name of the website (in italics), the publication date , and the URL (without “https://”).

If the author is unknown, start with the title of the page instead. If the publication date is unknown, or if the content is likely to change over time, add an access date at the end instead.

Websites don’t usually have page numbers, so the in-text citation is just the author name in parentheses. If you already named the author in your sentence, you don’t need to add a parenthetical citation.

You can also use our free MLA Citation Generator to effortlessly create website citations.

Citing online articles, citing web pages with no author or date, citing an entire website, publishers in mla website citations, frequently asked questions about mla style.

The format for citing an article from an online newspaper , magazine, or blog is the same as a general web page citation. If the article is a PDF of a print article, the format differs slightly .

Write the article title in title case (all major words capitalized). Use the most recent publication date on the page, including the day, month, and year if available.

Note, however, that a different format is used when citing online articles from academic journals.

Note that a specific format exists for citing online dictionary entries .

If you cite a whole website, there is usually no named author, so the Works Cited entry begins with the name of the website in italics.

If the website has a publication or copyright date (usually found in the footer), include this; if not, add the date when you accessed the website at the end of the citation.

When should you cite a whole website?

Most of the time, you should cite the specific page or article where you found the information. However, you might have to cite the entire website if you are giving a general overview of its content, referring only to the homepage, or quoting text that appears on many different pages across the site (such as a company’s slogan).

If you cite multiple pages or articles from the same website, you should include a separate Works Cited entry for each one.

Website publisher in an MLA website citation

If the publisher is the same as the name of the website, you leave it out of the citation to avoid repetition.

If a source has no author, start the MLA Works Cited entry with the source title . Use a shortened version of the title in your MLA in-text citation .

If a source has no page numbers, you can use an alternative locator (e.g. a chapter number, or a timestamp for a video or audio source) to identify the relevant passage in your in-text citation. If the source has no numbered divisions, cite only the author’s name (or the title).

If you already named the author or title in your sentence, and there is no locator available, you don’t need a parenthetical citation:

  • Rajaram  argues that representations of migration are shaped by “cultural, political, and ideological interests.”
  • The homepage of The Correspondent describes it as “a movement for radically different news.”

If a source has two authors, name both authors in your MLA in-text citation and Works Cited entry. If there are three or more authors, name only the first author, followed by et al.

Number of authors In-text citation Works Cited entry
1 author (Moore 37) Moore, Jason W.
2 authors (Moore and Patel 37) Moore, Jason W., and Raj Patel.

Yes. MLA style uses title case, which means that all principal words (nouns, pronouns , verbs, adjectives , adverbs , and some conjunctions ) are capitalized.

This applies to titles of sources as well as the title of, and subheadings in, your paper. Use MLA capitalization style even when the original source title uses different capitalization .

The title of an article is not italicized in MLA style , but placed in quotation marks. This applies to articles from journals , newspapers , websites , or any other publication. Use italics for the title of the source where the article was published. For example:

Use the same formatting in the Works Cited entry and when referring to the article in the text itself.

The fastest and most accurate way to create MLA citations is by using Scribbr’s MLA Citation Generator .

General Guidelines

The basic guideline for citing a website is:

Author's Last Name, First Name. Title of Website,  Name of Organization Affiliated with the Website, Date of copyright or date last modified/updated, URL. Accessed access date (optional).

Mabillard, Amanda.  Shakespeare Online,  29 Dec. 2011,  www.shakespeare-online.com . Accessed 6 July 2016.

An author can be a corporation or group, not only a specific person. Author information can sometimes be found under an "About" section on a website. It can be difficult to find out who the author is and sometimes one is not listed. If there is no known author, use the title of the website in place of an author's name.

Specific Page or Document on Website

Author's Last Name, First Name. "Title of Page or Document." Title of Website,  Name of Organization Affiliated with the Website, Date of copyright or date last modified/updated, URL.

Unknown Author

When there is no known author, begin with the title of the page, document or website.

"Title of Page or Document." Title of Website,  Name of Organization Affiliated with the Website, Date of copyright or date last modified/updated, URL.

("Title of Page or Document")

"How to Teach Yourself Guitar." eHow,  Demand Media, www.ehow.com/how_5298173_teach-yourself-guitar.html.

Note : The publisher or sponsoring organization can often be found in a copyright notice at the bottom of the home page or on a page that gives information about the site.  When the page is authored and published by the same corporation/group/organization, begin your citation with the section title.

Note : The publisher may be omitted from the citation if the website title is essentially the same as the publisher name.

More Examples:

Page or Document on a Government Website

Website - known author, citing two authors, citing three or more authors.

It can sometimes be difficult to find out who the author of a website is. Remember that an author can be a corporation or group, not only a specific person. Author information can sometimes be found under an "About" section on a website.

If there is no known author, start the citation with the title of the website instead.

The publisher or sponsoring organization can often be found in a copyright notice at the bottom of the home page or on a page that gives information about the site.  When the page is authored and published by the same corporation/group/organization, begin your citation with the section title ( MLA Handbook, p. 25).

According to p. 42 of the  MLA Handbook , publisher information may be omitted for:

  • periodicals (journals, magazines, newspapers)
  • works published by an author or editor
  • web sites whose title is the same as the name of the publisher
  • a web site not involved in producing the work it makes (e.g. user-generated content sites like  YouTube )

Access Date

Date of access is now optional in MLA 8th edition. If no publication date is included, we recommend including the date you last accessed the site.

Note : For your Works Cited list, all citations should be double spaced and have a hanging indent.

A "hanging indent" means that each subsequent line after the first line of your citation should be indented by 0.5 inches.

Cite a Website

Don't let plagiarism errors spoil your paper, citing a website in apa.

Once you’ve identified a credible website to use, create a citation and begin building your reference list. Citation Machine citing tools can help you create references for online news articles, government websites, blogs, and many other website! Keeping track of sources as you research and write can help you stay organized and ethical. If you end up not using a source, you can easily delete it from your bibliography. Ready to create a citation? Enter the website’s URL into the search box above. You’ll get a list of results, so you can identify and choose the correct source you want to cite. It’s that easy to begin!

If you’re wondering how to cite a website in APA, use the structure below.

Author Last Name, First initial. (Year, Month Date Published). Title of web page . Name of Website. URL

Example of an APA format website:

Austerlitz, S. (2015, March 3). How long can a spinoff like ‘Better Call Saul’ last? FiveThirtyEight. http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/how-long-can-a-spinoff-like-better-call-saul-last/

Keep in mind that not all information found on a website follows the structure above. Only use the Website format above if your online source does not fit another source category. For example, if you’re looking at a video on YouTube, refer to the ‘YouTube Video’ section. If you’re citing a newspaper article found online, refer to ‘Newspapers Found Online’ section. Again, an APA website citation is strictly for web pages that do not fit better with one of the other categories on this page.

About Citing Web Sites

When you are attempting to cite an online document or page that is more than one Web page, then cite a URL that links to the home page or entry page for the document. Remember, if there isn't a date available for the document use ( n.d. ) for no date.

For each type of source in this guide, both the general form and an example will be provided.

The following format will be used:

In-Text Citation (Paraphrase) - entry that appears in the body of your paper when you express the ideas of a researcher or author using your own words.  For more tips on paraphrasing check out The OWL at Purdue .

In-Text Citation (Quotation) - entry that appears in the body of your paper after a direct quote.

References - entry that appears at the end of your paper.

Information on citing and several of the examples were drawn from the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (7th ed.).

While citing websites might seem complicated, we’ve made it easier for you! In this article, we’ve explained everything about APA website citations in the 7th edition. From how to cite websites with no author to how to cite social media sites, we’ve covered everything for you!

We’ve also given specific examples to clarify all your doubts about citing websites. With this, we’ve also provided practical tips to ensure that you cite websites correctly. So without delaying further, let’s begin with the basics.

How to cite a website in APA

A simple APA 7 website citation includes the author’s last name, first and middle initials along with the website’s URL. The in-text citation in APA for a website consists of the author’s surname and publication year. Following is the basic APA citation format for a website:

Author’s surname, first & middle initials, publishing date, article title, website name, and URL.

Here is an example of how to cite a website in APA:

Cherry, K. (2023, March 11). What are the big 5 personality traits? Verywell Mind. https://www.verywellmind.com/the-big-five-personality-dimensions-2795422

       Parenthetical in-text citation: (Cherry, 2023)

       Narrative in-text citation: Cherry (2023)

Here is an example of how to cite a magazine article from a website in APA:

Daughtry, D. (2023, June 3). Overcoming Imposter Syndrome . Personal Growth Magazine.  https://www.personalgrowthmagazine.com/overcoming-imposter-syndrome/

     Parenthetical in-text citation: (Daughtry, 2023)

     Narrative in-text citation: Daughtry (2023)

Citing newspaper articles on websites

The APA formatting guidelines to cite a newspaper article from a website is similar to that of a magazine. Only, instead of the magazine’s name, the newspaper’s name must be written. Let’s see an APA website citation example of this type:

Grabmeier , J. (2023, January 24). How the last 12,000 years have shaped what humans are today. https://news.osu.edu/how-the-last-12000-years-have-shaped-what-humans-are-today/

Parenthetical in-text citation: (Grabmeier, 2023)

Narrative in-text citation: Grabmeier (2023)

Note: If the newspaper article is only available online and not in print format, put the article’s name in italics.

Citing blogs from websites

Format: Author’s surname, initials, publication date, blog title, blog name, and the URL.

Here is an example:

King, C. R., Martinez-Cola, M., Scherer, M. L., Francis, R., & Strong, M. T. (2023, October 2). Creating a Class of Our Own: Reflections on First-Generation and Working-Class  People in Sociology. EVERYDAY SOCIOLOGY BLOG. https://www.everydaysociologyblog.com/2023/10/creating-a-class-of-our-own-reflections-on-first-generation-and-working-class-people-in-sociology.html

Parenthetical in-text citation: (King et al., 2023)

Narrative intext citation: King et al. (2023)

Citing a report from a website

Various details such as the author’s name, the report’s publication date, title, subtitle, report number, publisher, and URL are mentioned to cite a report. The government, organization, or group’s name can be cited as the author of the report. The APA citation format to reference a report from a website is:

Author’s name, publication year, report title & subtitle, report number (if available), publisher’s name, and URL.

U.S. Department of State. (2022, September 21). Food security action report – united  states department of state . https://www.state.gov/food-security-action-report/

Parenthetical in-text citation: (U.S. Department of State, 2022)

Narrative in-text citation: (U.S. Department of State) 2022

Note: If the author and publisher’s name are the same, don’t include the publisher’s name in the citation.

Citing websites with no author

Websites that do not have any author are generally associated with some organization or government. Hence, instead of the author’s name, the APA citation for a website includes the relevant organization or government’s name. To create an APA in-text citation for a website with no author, add the organization or government agency’s name along with the year the source was published in parentheses.

Following is the format to cite websites with no author:

Organization/ Government’s name, publication year, Title of the page, Website name, URL

Here is an APA website citation example to understand better:

United States Institute of Peace. (2010, January 18). Macroeconomic Stabilization. United States Institute of Peace. https://www.usip.org/guiding-principles-stabilization-and-reconstruction-the-web-version/sustainable-economy/macroeconomi

Parenthetical in-text citation: (United States Institute of Peace, 2010)

Narrative in-text citation: United States Institute of Peace (2010)

If the organization/government/author’s name is not given, you can directly begin the citation with the article title. The in-text citations for such sources will consist of the article title and the year of publication in parentheses.

Note: When the article title is mentioned in plain text in the reference entry, it is written with quotation marks in the in-text citation. However, if the article title is italicized in the reference entry, it’s in italics in the in-text citation.

Now that we’ve understood how to create an APA citation for a website with no author, let’s understand how to reference websites with no date in APA.

Citing websites with no date in APA

If the date isn’t mentioned on the website, simply write (n.d) after the author’s name in parentheses. The short form n.d stands for no date. Since websites are updated, it’s suggested to mention the date you accessed the website. The APA in-text citation for a website with no date will only include the author’s last name and the short form n.d.

Format: Author’s name, (n.d.). Title of the Page, Site name, Date when you accessed the website, URL.

Here is an APA website citation example to clarify further:

Appleby, D. (n.d.). 10 tips for achieving financial security . Investopedia. Retrieved on October 7, 2023, from https://www.investopedia.com/articles/retirement/06/10secureretirementtips.asp

        Parenthetical In-text citation: (Appleby, n.d.)

        Narrative In-text citation: Appleby (n.d)

The above example clearly demonstrated how to cite a website in APA in the text and on the  APA reference page . Let us now understand the reference sources from Wikipedia.

Citing Wikipedia as a source

Instead of beginning the article with the author’s name, the citation directly begins with the title of the article. This is followed by various details such as the publishing date, the website’s name, and the URL. It is recommended to select the URL from the archived page from Wikipedia. To access the archived page from Wikipedia, you can select the option “View History” and choose the page date you wish to cite.

Format: Article title, publishing date. In Wikipedia. URL of the page’s archived version.

For example:

Behavioural Sciences . (2023, September 22).In Wikipedia  https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Behavioural_sciences&oldid=1176554197

Parenthetical In-text citation: (“Behavioral Sciences”, 2023)

Narrative in-text citation: “Behavioral Sciences” (2023)

Citing visual graphics from websites in APA

If you wish to cite infographics, maps, or any images of data statistics, you’ll need to write the website name/ organization name from where you’ve taken the source image. For images with no title, briefly describe the data in the image after citing the date the post was published.

Format: Website/organization/author name, (published date), title , image type, website name, URL.

Here is an APA 7th edition website citation to clarify further:

Statista (2022, October 5). Anthropology museums in Latin America 2022 . [Statistics] Statista  https://www.statista.com/statistics/1062997/latin-america-caribbean-anthropology-museums-by-country/

Parenthetical citation: (Statista, 2022)

Narrative citation: Statista (2022)

Note: If there is no publication date, mention the date you accessed the visual graphic from the website.

Citing interviews from websites

If the interview cannot be retrieved in audio or print format, only include an in-text citation of that interview. However, if the interview has been published on an online medium such as a magazine or a newspaper website, cite the interview using the following format:

Format: Author’s surname and initials, interview title, website name , URL

Jeffries, S. (2015, March 21). David Graeber interview: “so many people spend their  working lives doing jobs they think are unnecessary.” The Guardian.  https://www.theguardian.com/books/2015/mar/21/books-interview-david-graeber-the-utopia-of-rules

Parenthetical in-text citation: (Jeffries, 2015)

Narrative in-text citation: Jeffries (2015)

Citing online forum websites

Various details such as the author’s name, publishing date, post title, publisher and URL are mentioned in the citation.

Format: Author’s surname and initials, [username]. (Publishing date). Post title [Online forum post]. Publisher. URL.

Machado, A. [r/sociology] (2023, June 11). Peter Berger: Accidental sociologist . [Online forum post] Reddit. https://www.reddit.com/r/sociology/comments/1g2xdc/peter_berger_accidental_sociologist/

Parenthetical in-text citation: (Machado, 2023)

Narrative in-text citation: Machado (2023)

How to cite sources from social media in APA

how to cite updated websites

Correct my document today

To reference posts from social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, include the username and the platform in square brackets. Write usernames the way they appear on the platform, with the same capitalization and symbols.

If the post has a title, use it (in quotation marks). If the post is untitled, use the text of the post instead. Do not use italics. If the text is long, you can replace some of it with an ellipsis.

Harvard referencing: Social media post
Template Author surname, initial. [username] (Year) ‘Titleor text. [Website name] Day Month. Available at: URL (Accessed: Day Month Year).
Example Dorsey, J. [@jack] (2018) We’re committing Twitter to help increase the collective health, openness, and civility of public conversation … [Twitter] 1 March. Available at: https://twitter.com/jack/status/969234275420655616 (Accessed: 11 May 2020).

Online content is referenced differently if it is in video, audio or image form.

To cite an image found online, such as an artwork, photograph, or infographic, include the image format (e.g. ‘Photograph’, ‘Oil on canvas’) in square brackets.

Harvard referencing: Images
Template Author surname, initial. (Year) [Medium]. Available at: URL (Accessed: Day Month Year).
Example Taylor, P. (2020) [Photograph]. Available at: https://flic.kr/p/2iZBKhY (Accessed: 11 May 2020).

Online videos, such as those on YouTube, Instagram, Vimeo and Dailymotion, are cited similarly to general web pages. Where a video is uploaded under the name of an individual, write the name in the usual format. Otherwise, write the username of the uploader as it appears on the site.

If you want to locate a specific point in a video in an in-text citation, you can do so using a timestamp.

Harvard referencing: Videos
Template Author surname, initial. (Year) . Day Month. Available at: URL (Accessed: Day Month Year).
Example Scribbr (2020) 23 January. Available at: https://youtu.be/Uk1pq8sb-eo (Accessed: 14 May 2020).

(Scribbr, 2020, 1:58)

For a podcast reference, you just need the name of the individual episode, not of the whole series. The word ‘Podcast’ is always included in square brackets. As with videos, you can use a timestamp to locate a specific point in the in-text citation.

Harvard referencing: Podcasts
Template Author/presenter surname, initial. (Year) [Podcast]. Day Month. Available at: URL (Accessed: Day Month Year).
Example Carlin, D. (2017) [Podcast]. 24 January. Available at: https://www.dancarlin.com/hardcore-history-59-the-destroyer-of-worlds/ (Accessed: 11 May 2020).

(Carlin, 2017, 25:55)

Online sources are often missing information you would usually need for a citation: author, title or date. Here’s what to do when these details are not available.

When a website doesn’t list a specific individual author, you can usually find a corporate author to list instead. This is the organisation responsible for the source:

Harvard referencing: No author
Example (Google, 2020)

Google (2020) . Available at: (Accessed: 11 May 2020).

In cases where there’s no suitable corporate author (such as online dictionaries or Wikis), use the title of the source in the author position instead:

Harvard referencing: No corporate author
Example (‘Divest’, 2020)

‘Divest’ (2020) Available at: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/divest (Accessed: 29 April 2020).

In Harvard style, when a source doesn’t list a specific date of publication, replace it with the words ‘no date’ in both the in-text citation and the reference list. You should still include an access date:

Harvard referencing: No date
Example (Scribbr, no date)

Scribbr (no date) . Available at: https://www.scribbr.co.uk/category/referencing/ (Accessed: 11 May 2020).

It’s important to assess the reliability of information found online. Look for sources from established publications and institutions with expertise (e.g. peer-reviewed journals and government agencies).

The CRAAP test (currency, relevance, authority, accuracy, purpose) can aid you in assessing sources, as can our list of credible sources . You should generally avoid citing websites like Wikipedia that can be edited by anyone – instead, look for the original source of the information in the “References” section.

You can generally omit page numbers in your in-text citations of online sources which don’t have them. But when you quote or paraphrase a specific passage from a particularly long online source, it’s useful to find an alternate location marker.

For text-based sources, you can use paragraph numbers (e.g. ‘para. 4’) or headings (e.g. ‘under “Methodology”’). With video or audio sources, use a timestamp (e.g. ‘10:15’).

In Harvard referencing, up to three author names are included in an in-text citation or reference list entry. When there are four or more authors, include only the first, followed by ‘ et al. ’

In-text citation Reference list
1 author (Smith, 2014) Smith, T. (2014) …
2 authors (Smith and Jones, 2014) Smith, T. and Jones, F. (2014) …
3 authors (Smith, Jones and Davies, 2014) Smith, T., Jones, F. and Davies, S. (2014) …
4+ authors (Smith , 2014) Smith, T. (2014) …

A Harvard in-text citation should appear in brackets every time you quote, paraphrase, or refer to information from a source.

The citation can appear immediately after the quotation or paraphrase, or at the end of the sentence. If you’re quoting, place the citation outside of the quotation marks but before any other punctuation like a comma or full stop.

How to reference a website using the Harvard referencing style

This guide covers how to reference a website in Harvard style. When citing information sourced from the web, it is of paramount importance that you make very clear what it is you are referencing. As sources on the internet can vary widely, your reference should aim to provide a trail that can lead the reader directly to the source. An internet source could be almost anything, including but not limited to scholarly journal articles, newspaper articles, blog posts, and personal web pages. Your reference format for internet sources will vary based on the type of source.

Since most websites are updated from time to time, it is possible that anything you quote may be changed or removed. This means that it is important to record within your citation the date that you last accessed the site.

Another important fact to be mindful of is that most websites do not have page numbers. If you need to reference a specific location on a website, you can use paragraph numbers in place of page numbers (abbreviated ‘para.’ in your in-text citation).

Citation styles for different online sources

This section will elaborate on the citation style to be utilized for the following sources, along with examples for each source type.

Web pages authored by an individual/individuals

Your references for this type of web page will include the following information:

  • Author’s/Authors’ names
  • The year the site was published or last updated (in round brackets)
  • Title of the web page (in italics)
  • Available at: URL (Accessed: date)

After years of research, Russell and Verstappen (2013) found that…

Russell, J. and Verstappen, M. (2013) Rubber compounds and their rate of wear . Available at: http://www.dailysciencefixforyou.com/rubbercompounds (Accessed: 24 November 2019).

Web pages authored by a company or organization

Here’s the information you will need to include for this type of reference:

  • Name of the company/organization
  • Year the site was published or last updated (in round brackets)
  • Title of the web page (in italics)
  • Available at: URL (Accessed: date)

Web pages with no author

Citation structure :

  • Title of the webpage (in italics)
  • The year the site was published/last updated (in round brackets)
  • Available at: URL (Accessed: date)

Banana Republic News (no date) The trials and tribulations of Cuba. Available at: https://www.bananafyinews.com/cuba.html (Accessed: 15 July 2019).

Multiple pages from the same website

If you need to cite multiple pages from the same website, and the pages have different authors and/or publication dates associated with them, then you can simply use corresponding individual in-text citations and reference list entries for each page that you cite. In this case, you would also include the unique URL for each page in its corresponding reference list entry. However, if the pages you are citing all have the same author and publication date, you can differentiate between them in both your reference list entries and in-text citations by adding a lowercase letter after the date.

(Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2022a)

(Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2022b)

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (2022a)  International travel . Available at: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/international-travel/index.html (Accessed: 18 July 2022).

Note that if the web page has no date, insert a hyphen between the words ‘no date’ and the lowercase letter to improve readability, for example: (no date-a) or (no date-b).

Web blogs or video blogs

When citing any information from blogs or vlogs, you need to keep in mind that you are treading a very thin line between objectivity and subjectivity. Blogs or vlogs are meant to be informal as most people use them to express their perspectives on issues or topics that are close to their heart, or to comment on issues from the public domain. So, be incredibly careful as most blogs are not very well reasoned or objective in their stance.

  • The year that the blog/vlog was published or last updated (in round brackets)
  • Title of the blog/vlog (in single quotation marks)
  • Title of the site that hosts the blog/vlog (in italics)
  • The day or month the blog/vlog was posted

Note that if you’re trying to cite a vlog that was posted on YouTube, you’ll need to know how to cite a YouTube video in Harvard style .

Engelbert D’Souza (2015) has expounded on the “Mandela Effect” at great length….

D’Souza, E. (2015) ‘The Mandela Effect’, Engelbert’s monthly blog , 6 November. Available at: https://www.engelbertsmonthlyblog/november/mandelaeffect/ (Accessed: 11 September 2016).

Key takeaways

  • While referencing anything from a website, the main aim is to provide a trail that can lead the reader directly to the source.
  • An important point to keep in mind is that you will need to cite the date you last accessed the site.
  • Since most websites do not have page numbers, use paragraph numbers to show where you found the information you used.

FOOTBALL ULTIMATE TEAM

Welcome to the latest update from the EA SPORTS FC Team, where we're excited to welcome you to the Festival of Football. This season is all about celebrating the international football window, bringing a wave of excitement and engagement to Football Ultimate Team.

Let's dive into what's in store for our players as we embark on this football journey together.

FESTIVAL OF FOOTBALL

The Festival of Football is our kickoff to Season 7, designed to bring the thrill of international competition right into Football Ultimate Team. As  international competition takes centre stage in the football world, we're mirroring that excitement with themed content that spans the entire seasonal ladder. Keep an eye out for live items that will bring a dynamic element to your team, reflecting the real-world performances and fervour of these tournaments.

PATH TO GLORY

Kicking off the Festival of Football is Path to Glory. The Path to Glory Campaign follows each nation's step towards silverware. The unique aspect of Path to Glory players is their ability to upgrade based on their nation's form throughout the tournament.

GREATS OF THE GAME

In addition to current stars, we're paying homage to the legends of the game. Greats of the Game will feature ICONs & Heroes whose upgrades are tied to the goals scored by their nation during the tournament. This celebrates the players who have left an indelible mark on the game.

NEW LOAN TYPES

The Festival of Football Update will also feature new types of loans. There’s two new loan types we’ll be introducing into the game alongside traditional Match Loans; Timed Loans & Global Loans.

When you log in to Football Ultimate Team during the Path to Glory Campaign, you’ll receive Global Loan (more details below) of a Path to Glory Player to help give your squad an international boost.

Match Loans  First and foremost, we want to clarify that the traditional Match Loans, which many of you are familiar with, will remain unchanged. The two new loan types are additional to Match Loans.

Global Loans  Global Loans apply to all players simultaneously. Global Loans begin on a set date and time for everyone and count down to a predetermined end point together. When the timer reaches zero, the loan item will no longer be usable and will be removed from your club.

We think the addition of Global Loans will provide new squad building opportunities for the wider community, leading to new and interesting line ups through an increase in themed content. During the international competition we’ll introduce Global Loans for the first time in EA SPORTS FC 24, to help create an international takeover in Football Ultimate Team.

Festival of Football Global Loans will expire on July 18.

ADDITIONAL UPDATES

The Festival of Football Update also brings changes across the game from a new skill move and an ice-cold celebration, to enhancements to the Clubs and Manager Career.

These additions are based on feedback and designed to improve gameplay and ensure your experience is both rewarding and enjoyable.

First up, we've introduced a new skill move called the Double Touch Lane Change that's sure to be a hit with players who love to dazzle on the pitch with their technical prowess. This addition comes later in the calendar, but it's definitely worth the wait for those who thrive on skillful play.

  • Hold L2 + Hold RS R/L || LT + Hold RS R/L Xbox Series X|S

Additionally, we're bringing a new celebration to the game. Inspired by Cole Palmer's standout season at Chelsea, this celebration can be executed with Cole Palmer across Kickoff, Career, and Football Ultimate Team modes. For those looking to celebrate in style with any player, this celebration can be unlocked in the Football Ultimate Team Season 7 Festival of Football ladder.

MANAGER CAREER

Youth Prospects scouting and development is a big part of Manager Career experience. For our Manager Career enthusiasts, we’ve made changes in Title Update #16 that will bring new and exciting additions to the youth system.

Over the course of your Manager Career you will be able to scout Youth Prospects with 90+ potential and seven PlayStyles. Such players that came through your Youth Academy will now develop two PlayStyles+! The first PlayStyle+ will be unlocked at 80 OVR and second will be unlocked at 90 OVR. This is the only way possible in Manager Career to have a player with two PlayStyles+.

We are looking forward to seeing our community sharing prospects they scouted and nurtured to become generation talent!

For our Clubs players, we're adding a permanent double XP multiplier to any experience gained after a match in FC 24. Which means accelerated progression for your Virtual Pro - faster way to unlock extra slots and different available PlayStyles for your Virtual Pro. By simply playing any match in Clubs (ex. drop-in or league game) you will notice an increased amount of earned XP. And remember that the amount of XP is also based on the Match Rating - the better your performance in the game the faster the progression.

This is a fantastic opportunity for players looking to catch up to friends and find new ones in FC 24, ensuring everyone can enjoy Clubs experience regardless of their starting point.

Title Update #16 brings 27 new player star heads to EA SPORTS FC 24. You can expect to see improved likenesses of players across the Premier League, including players like Rodri, Sven Botman, Pedro Porro and Eberechi Eze.

Please note that these star heads will become visible following a Server Release that will come shortly after the Festival of Football Update.

Thanks for checking out our Festival of Football Update Pitch Notes! We look forward to you experiencing all the new changes and additions coming to FC 24.

11 Examples of Great Church Websites (Updated for 2024)

More than ever, your church website is a critical touchpoint for members, visitors, and seekers. The best way to create an effective site? “Learn by example,” they say (After all, isn’t that how Jesus taught the disciples?) In the following article, we’re taking a look at five great examples of church websites, and why we think they’re exceptionally effective, engaging, and just plain cool to look at.

how to cite updated websites

More than ever, your church website is a critical touchpoint for members, visitors, and seekers.

Your site is not only a reflection of who you are as a church. It’s also an opportunity to engage visitors, call them to action, and provide lifegiving resources (such as sermons and livestreaming).

But as anyone who has ever attempted to build a church website has discovered, it’s not all that simple. To build a site from complete scratch, you need knowledge of coding and design at the very least.

Plus, visitors may have a range of goals when they come to your site. Are they looking up basic contact info? Are they interested in the most recent sermon? Or are they wanting to give money to support your group?

In short, creating a great church website is a tall order.

The best way to create an effective site? “Learn by example,” they say (After all, isn’t that how Jesus taught the disciples?)

In the following article, we’re taking a look at 11 great examples of church websites , and why we think they’re exceptionally effective, engaging, and just plain cool to look at.

11 Examples of Great Church Websites

Church website example #1: city life.

City Life is an Alberta-based church with a unique message: Find your place in God’s story.

how to cite updated websites

Their website showcases a church that’s fun, accessible, and Christ-centered with the following powerful features.

An Awesome Above the Fold

“Above the fold” is marketing lingo for what’s immediately apparent to a site visitor. In other words, if something is visible without scrolling down, it’s above the fold.

City Life makes a dynamic first impression on visitors with a unique, above the fold message that immediately engages visitors and gets them to think. The background of the message is a live, dynamic video visual of scenes from the church so that visitors can immediately get a feel for who they can expect to see on a Sunday morning.

Call to Action

A call to action (or CTA) is typically an active button that invites the site visitor to a specific action. City Life has a call to action to “Watch Online” for site visitors who might want to check out the church’s livestreaming. The CTA is above the fold, making it easy to click without needing to scroll down.

Loads of Personality

Quickly run through City Life’s site, and it’s not hard to see that this church is oozing with personality. With unique messaging, a blooper reel, a spunky video intro, and a detailed “Leadership” page, City Life’s site effectively uses graphics, copy, and video content to communicate exactly who they are.

Easy to Navigate

Great websites have clear, easy user interfaces. In other words, they’re easy to navigate and explore.

City Life’s site makes it simple to find key information on the homepage (services times and ministries), and to locate additional information in an easy to read menu across the top of the homepage.

Church Website Example #2: Real Life Church

Real Life Church is a down to earth church based in Bakersfield, CA. Their messaging is focused on getting real with people to help them navigate everyday life with Jesus.

how to cite updated websites

Real Life Church’s website does a great job of drawing in visitors and making their message clear and accessible. Here’s how they do it.

A rich, unique color palette.

Color scheme might seem like an afterthought, but choosing the right brand colors can make the difference between communicating “We’re a fun, 20-something church” and “We’re a family-friendly church with a low-key vibe.”

Real Life Church leans towards the latter with their branding, and chose a rich, unique color palette: dark teal and mustard yellow, with white text. The result is a warm, inviting appearance that would appeal as much to the young mom as to the retiree.

Easy to Follow Buttons

Three graphic buttons directly below the fold make it simple for site visitors to take action on Real Life Church’s site: Connect, Pray, or Give. Represented by simple text and icons, these buttons drive visitors to action with minimal confusion.

Event Calendar

Churches typically have a range of meetings and services throughout the week, along with one-time events like conferences. That being said, there’s a lot to communicate to site visitors, including times, locations, and other relevant details.

Real Life Church has two options for discovering events: a section on their homepage with a few core events, and a more detailed Event page with a full selection of regular events, such as Men’s Bible Study and Prayer.

Newsletter Signup

One way to stay engaged with site visitors is through a newsletter signup. Creating a slot for email signups creates a low barrier for communicating with one-time visitors who might want to learn more about your church, but who aren’t ready to register for an event or sign up for a group.

At the bottom of every page, Real Life Church has an option for providing your email address to subscribe to a newsletter. This is a simple, subtle reminder for visitors to engage with their church without making a huge “ask.”

Church Website Example #3: Centralia Bible Baptist Church

Based in beautiful Centralia, Washington, Centralia Bible Baptist Church is a church that’s committed to teaching Scriptural truth, discipling others, and sharing the Gospel.

how to cite updated websites

Centralia Bible Baptist Church also happens to have an awesome church website. Here’s why we love it.

Beautiful above-the-fold graphic.

CBBC chose an eye-catching, contemporary above-the-fold graphic that looks clean and inviting. They overlaid text on the graphic to make it clear what they’re all about.

Immediate information.

As soon as visitors scroll down from the above-the-fold graphic, they see clearly displayed service times.

A robust sermon series page.

CBBC makes it easy to access their teaching on a detailed sermon series page. Their sermons are clearly displayed with teacher, date, and scripture reference. They even offer site visitors a filtering tool that makes it simple to find specific teachings.

Church Website Example #4: Salt Creek Baptist Church

Salt Creek Baptist Church is an Oregon-based church with a warm, family-forward approach and a rich, 120-year legacy.

how to cite updated websites

Salt Creek may have been around since the early 1900’s, but that doesn’t mean it’s stayed behind in terms of technology. They’ve got a fresh, clean website that helps visitors learn exactly who they are and how they can get involved at Salt Creek.

Here’s what makes their website great.

Livestreaming.

Livestreaming services has become more important than ever, with some church members choosing to stay home from regular service.

Salt Creek makes their livestreaming option clear and accessible. Directly below the fold, Salt Creek has a call to action to “Watch...Sunday Morning Worship Live,” along with a video player to make it easy to watch right then and there.

A detailed sermons page.

Many first-time visitors to a church like to check out sermons before committing to a Sunday morning service. Existing members also like to have access to sermons so that they can catch up after a weekend away, or even revisit a message if it was especially powerful.

Salt Creek does a great job of offering a clear, easy-to-access library of current messages on their “Sermons” page, conveniently located on the menu at the top of their homepage. Visitors can filter sermons by year, series title, or even speaker. Or, they can simply scroll through the most recent sermons.

Simplicity rules.

Sometimes, simplicity works best, and Salt Creek Baptist chooses to keep their homepage simple with a pleasant banner graphic and bold but classic color palette: red and yellow. A quick scroll through their homepage, and visitors can also learn exactly who they are, what they teach, how to participate on Sundays, and other relevant news and updates.

A top of page banner.

As any leader in church knows, churches are often hiring for new positions. Hiring for the position of Children’s Ministries Director, Salt Creek strategically displays this information in a thin but visible banner across the top of their homepage.

Church Website Example #5: Beloved City Church

One of the best ways to gauge whether a church might be a good fit or not is to listen to a sermon. This website has an easy-to-access sermon player right below the fold of the front homepage, directing visitors to their most recent messages.

Site visitors who want to receive regular news from Beloved City Church can sign up for their newsletter emails at the bottom of the homepage.

Key Takeaways

After looking over a few of our favorite websites, we ended up with a few key takeaways on what makes a church website great.

  • Church websites should be easy to navigate. Visitors don’t want to have to think too hard to find what they’re looking for. They want a simple, intuitive experience.
  • Great church websites give visitors a way to respond. The goal of a website is to drive visitors to another touchpoint, whether that’s to visit on Sunday morning, sign up for an email list, or to listen to a sermon.
  • Church websites should be nice to look at! Aesthetics are important, and you’ll want a website that looks contemporary, clean, and graphically interesting.

Free Works Cited Generator

Generate a Works Cited page in MLA format automatically, with MyBib!

MLA 8 guidebook cover

😕 What is a Works Cited Generator?

A works cited generator is a tool that automatically creates a works cited page in the Modern Language Association (MLA) citation format. The generator will take in information about the sources you have cited in your paper, such as document titles, authors, and URLs, and will output a fully formatted works cited page that can be added to the end of your paper (just as your teacher asked!).

The citations included in a Works Cited page show the sources that you used to construct your argument in the body of your school paper, either directly as references and quotes, or indirectly as ideas.

👩‍🎓 Who uses a Works Cited Generator?

Students in middle school and high school will usually be expected to produce a works cited page to accompany their academic papers. Therefore, they will generally be the users of a works cited generator.

Alongside generating a works cited page, at middle school and high school level it is also important to learn why it's critical to cite sources, not just how to cite them.

🙌 Why should I use a Works Cited Generator?

Formatting works cited pages manually is time consuming, and ensuring accuracy is mind-numbing.

Automating this process with a works cited generator is a quick and easy way to be sure you are doing it correctly (and according to the MLA format!). Our generator also provides a backed-up location to save your citations to as you write each part of your paper -- just keep the MyBib website open in a browser tab while you work and add to your works cited page as you go along!

⚙️ How do I use MyBib's Works Cited Generator?

Using our Works Cited Generator is so easy. Every time you cite a source in your paper, just come back to the generator at the top of this page and enter the source you are citing. Our generator can cite books, journal articles, and webpages automatically, and can cite over 30 other sources if you enter the source details manually.

Save each source to your bibliography, then when you have finished writing your paper just click the 'download' button and the generator will produce a formatted Works Cited page that can be copied and pasted directly to the end of your document.

Introducing Microsoft 365 Copilot – your copilot for work

Humans are hard-wired to dream, to create, to innovate. Each of us seeks to do work that gives us purpose — to write a great novel, to make a discovery, to build strong communities, to care for the sick. The urge to connect to the core of our work lives in all of us. But today, we spend too much time consumed by the drudgery of work on tasks that zap our time, creativity and energy. To reconnect to the soul of our work, we don’t just need a better way of doing the same things. We need a whole new way to work.

Today, we are bringing the power of next-generation AI to work. Introducing Microsoft 365 Copilot — your copilot for work . It combines the power of large language models (LLMs) with your data in the Microsoft Graph and the Microsoft 365 apps to turn your words into the most powerful productivity tool on the planet.

“Today marks the next major step in the evolution of how we interact with computing, which will fundamentally change the way we work and unlock a new wave of productivity growth,” said Satya Nadella, Chairman and CEO, Microsoft. “With our new copilot for work, we’re giving people more agency and making technology more accessible through the most universal interface — natural language.”

Copilot is integrated into Microsoft 365 in two ways. It works alongside you, embedded in the Microsoft 365 apps you use every day — Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and more — to unleash creativity, unlock productivity and uplevel skills. Today we’re also announcing an entirely new experience: Business Chat . Business Chat works across the LLM, the Microsoft 365 apps, and your data — your calendar, emails, chats, documents, meetings and contacts — to do things you’ve never been able to do before. You can give it natural language prompts like “Tell my team how we updated the product strategy,” and it will generate a status update based on the morning’s meetings, emails and chat threads.

With Copilot, you’re always in control. You decide what to keep, modify or discard. Now, you can be more creative in Word, more analytical in Excel, more expressive in PowerPoint, more productive in Outlook and more collaborative in Teams.

Microsoft 365 Copilot transforms work in three ways:

Unleash creativity. With Copilot in Word, you can jump-start the creative process so you never start with a blank slate again. Copilot gives you a first draft to edit and iterate on — saving hours in writing, sourcing, and editing time. Sometimes Copilot will be right, other times usefully wrong — but it will always put you further ahead. You’re always in control as the author, driving your unique ideas forward, prompting Copilot to shorten, rewrite or give feedback. Copilot in PowerPoint helps you create beautiful presentations with a simple prompt, adding relevant content from a document you made last week or last year. And with Copilot in Excel, you can analyze trends and create professional-looking data visualizations in seconds.

Unlock productivity. We all want to focus on the 20% of our work that really matters, but 80% of our time is consumed with busywork that bogs us down. Copilot lightens the load. From summarizing long email threads to quickly drafting suggested replies, Copilot in Outlook helps you clear your inbox in minutes, not hours. And every meeting is a productive meeting with Copilot in Teams. It can summarize key discussion points — including who said what and where people are aligned and where they disagree — and suggest action items, all in real time during a meeting. And with Copilot in Power Platform, anyone can automate repetitive tasks, create chatbots and go from idea to working app in minutes.

GitHub data shows that Copilot promises to unlock productivity for everyone. Among developers who use GitHub Copilot, 88% say they are more productive, 74% say that they can focus on more satisfying work, and 77% say it helps them spend less time searching for information or examples.

But Copilot doesn’t just supercharge individual productivity. It creates a new knowledge model for every organization — harnessing the massive reservoir of data and insights that lies largely inaccessible and untapped today. Business Chat works across all your business data and apps to surface the information and insights you need from a sea of data — so knowledge flows freely across the organization, saving you valuable time searching for answers. You will be able to access Business Chat from Microsoft 365.com, from Bing when you’re signed in with your work account, or from Teams.

Uplevel skills. Copilot makes you better at what you’re good at and lets you quickly master what you’ve yet to learn. The average person uses only a handful of commands — such as “animate a slide” or “insert a table” — from the thousands available across Microsoft 365. Now, all that rich functionality is unlocked using just natural language. And this is only the beginning.

Copilot will fundamentally change how people work with AI and how AI works with people. As with any new pattern of work, there’s a learning curve — but those who embrace this new way of working will quickly gain an edge.

Screenshot Microsoft 365 Copilot

The Copilot System: Enterprise-ready AI

Microsoft is uniquely positioned to deliver enterprise-ready AI with the Copilot System . Copilot is more than OpenAI’s ChatGPT embedded into Microsoft 365. It’s a sophisticated processing and orchestration engine working behind the scenes to combine the power of LLMs, including GPT-4, with the Microsoft 365 apps and your business data in the Microsoft Graph — now accessible to everyone through natural language.

Grounded in your business data. AI-powered LLMs are trained on a large but limited corpus of data. The key to unlocking productivity in business lies in connecting LLMs to your business data — in a secure, compliant, privacy-preserving way. Microsoft 365 Copilot has real-time access to both your content and context in the Microsoft Graph. This means it generates answers anchored in your business content — your documents, emails, calendar, chats, meetings, contacts and other business data — and combines them with your working context — the meeting you’re in now, the email exchanges you’ve had on a topic, the chat conversations you had last week — to deliver accurate, relevant, contextual responses.

Built on Microsoft’s comprehensive approach to security, compliance and privacy. Copilot is integrated into Microsoft 365 and automatically inherits all your company’s valuable security, compliance, and privacy policies and processes. Two-factor authentication, compliance boundaries, privacy protections, and more make Copilot the AI solution you can trust.

Architected to protect tenant, group and individual data. We know data leakage is a concern for customers. Copilot LLMs are not trained on your tenant data or your prompts. Within your tenant, our time-tested permissioning model ensures that data won’t leak across user groups. And on an individual level, Copilot presents only data you can access using the same technology that we’ve been using for years to secure customer data.

Integrated into the apps millions use every day. Microsoft 365 Copilot is integrated in the productivity apps millions of people use and rely on every day for work and life — Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and more. An intuitive and consistent user experience ensures it looks, feels and behaves the same way in Teams as it does in Outlook, with a shared design language for prompts, refinements and commands.

Designed to learn new skills.  Microsoft 365 Copilot’s foundational skills are a game changer for productivity: It can already create, summarize, analyze, collaborate and automate using your specific business content and context. But it doesn’t stop there. Copilot knows how to command apps (e.g., “animate this slide”) and work across apps, translating a Word document into a PowerPoint presentation. And Copilot is designed to learn new skills. For example, with Viva Sales, Copilot can learn how to connect to CRM systems of record to pull customer data — like interaction and order histories — into communications. As Copilot learns about new domains and processes, it will be able to perform even more sophisticated tasks and queries.

Committed to building responsibly

At Microsoft, we are guided by our AI principles and Responsible AI Standard and decades of research on AI, grounding and privacy-preserving machine learning. A multidisciplinary team of researchers, engineers and policy experts reviews our AI systems for potential harms and mitigations — refining training data, filtering to limit harmful content, query- and result-blocking sensitive topics, and applying Microsoft technologies like InterpretML and Fairlearn to help detect and correct data bias. We make it clear how the system makes decisions by noting limitations, linking to sources, and prompting users to review, fact-check and adjust content based on subject-matter expertise.

Moving boldly as we learn

In the months ahead, we’re bringing Copilot to all our productivity apps—Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Viva, Power Platform, and more. We’ll share more on pricing and licensing soon. Earlier this month we announced Dynamics 365 Copilot as the world’s first AI Copilot in both CRM and ERP to bring the next-generation AI to every line of business.

Everyone deserves to find purpose and meaning in their work — and Microsoft 365 Copilot can help. To serve the unmet needs of our customers, we must move quickly and responsibly, learning as we go. We’re testing Copilot with a small group of customers to get feedback and improve our models as we scale, and we will expand to more soon.

The 10 best new movies on netflix in june 2024 (updated).

Adria Arjona and Glen Powell star in Netflix's new romantic comedy 'Hit Man.'

Of all the streaming services, Netflix is the one that continues to amaze with its prolific and eclectic output. Any given week features a cavalcade of fresh releases, including both Netflix Originals and great outside content. And this week is no different, featuring a brand new assassin movie starring Glen Powell, one of the most vibrant and colorful rom-coms of the past ten years, and this year’s Oscar winner for Best Visual Effects. And that only scratches the surface of Netflix’s best cinematic offerings in the month of June.

So where should you start? I’ve got a list that can serve as your guide. Below in the first section, you can peruse my ten picks for the best movies added to Netflix so far this month. Then at the bottom of the article, you’ll find a full list of every single new film that’s been added (and will be added) to Netflix in June 2024. Hopefully you’ll find your next favorite movie in this bunch.

The 10 Best New Movies On Netflix In June 2024

Note: this list covers all releases leading up to June 8, 2024.

Godzilla Minus One (2023)

Lurking beneath the ocean waters of the 96th Academy Awards, overshadowed by great moments like Da’Vine Joy Randolph’s tearful speech and John Cena’s au naturel presentation and Emily Blunt and Ryan Gosling’s re-fueling of the Oppenheimer battle, there was an underdog story that might have been the best of the night. The visual effects team behind the incredible new Godzilla film Godzilla Minus One beat out the likes of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and The Creator— despite working with just a $12 million budget. What they accomplished with such a paltry amount is truly legendary. The film is set in post-World War II Japan as the country, while trying to rebuild, faces an unparalleled threat. Amidst the ruins and the hopes for a better future, Godzilla emerges, casting a shadow over our collective chances of survival (if you’re interested in a thematic breakdown of the film, check out this great piece ). Directed by Takashi Yamazaki, who has gathered eight Japanese Academy Awards during his career, and featuring great performances by Ryunosuke Kamiki and Minami Hamabe, Godzilla Minus One is a must-see for fans of monster movies.

Best High-Yield Savings Accounts Of 2024

Best 5% interest savings accounts of 2024, hit man (2024).

Glen Powell has had one heck of a ride aboard the Hollywood Express over the past couple years. While he garnered much praise and recognition for his role in the Emma Roberts-fronted series Scream Queens , his career took off after the box office success of both Top Gun: Maverick and Anyone But You (a movie available on Netflix, by the way). And it looks like his ride will continue in 2024 with both Twisters and new his Netflix movie, Hit Man . This comedic action movie delves into the murky world of professional assassins, where moral boundaries blur and the line between justice and vengeance is razor-thin. Richard Linklater, who has given us such classics as Before Sunrise , Boyhood and Dazed and Confused , directs this gripping flick, featuring Powell as Gary Johnson, a former cop turned contract killer who struggles with his own sense of right and wrong. Adria Arjona and Austin Amelio also star.

Crazy Rich Asians (2018)

I saw Crazy Rich Asians in theaters back in 2018 for two major reasons. The first was director Jon M. Chu, who also provides a great time at the movies, from Step Up 3D to G.I. Joe Retaliation to Now You See Me 2 (and let us not forget the upcoming adaptation of Wicked ). And the second reason was Michelle Yeoh, who, before her Oscar win for Everything Everywhere All At Once , was the star of many great Hong Kong action films like Magnificent Warriors , The Heroic Trio and Police Story 3: Supercop . And I’ve actually returned to this movie a few times over the years, as I find it endlessly watchable. Chu’s adaptation of Kevin Kwan’s satirical novel immerses us in the opulent, high-stakes world of Singapore’s elite. Rachel Chu, an economics professor in New York, discovers that her boyfriend Nick Young comes from one of the wealthiest families in Asia. Alongside Yeoh, this vibrant romantic comedy stars Constance Wu and Henry Golding in the lead roles, with Awkwafina providing electric comedic relief.

Cold Copy (2023)

Sometimes it feels like great journalism movies are a thing of the past—but, upon reflection, I’m surprised to discover just how vibrant the genre has remained. From Spotlight to The Post to She Said , there’s plenty of modern films with an investigative flair that match the magnitude of classics like All the President’s Men and Network . I think it’s safe to also include the brand new release Cold Copy with that group. This thriller from director Roxine Hleberg explores the competitive and morally ambiguous world of broadcast journalism. A young reporter, eager to make her mark, stumbles upon a high-profile case that could be her ticket to fame. This journalism flick stars Bel Powley and Tracee Ellis Ross in the leading roles, and each bring intensity and nuance to a reflective piece that should hit home with anyone who consumes news on a daily basis.

Detective Pikachu (2019)

Ryan Reynolds is as prolific as a movie star can get. From superhero blockbusters (like Deadpool ) to romantic comedies (like The Proposal ) to sci-fi spectacles (like The Adam Project ), Reynold’s face has become synonymous with box office success. But one of his biggest movies didn’t feature his face, and instead his voice . In Detective Pikachu he voices none other than Pikachu itself, bringing to life the world of Pokémon in a way fans have never seen before. In Ryme City, a place where these creatures and humans coexist, Tim Goodman (played by Justice Smith) teams up with a wise-cracking, coffee-loving Pikachu to solve the mystery of his father’s disappearance. Directed by Rob Letterman, who gave us family-friendly entertainment like Goosebumps , Monsters vs. Aliens and Shark Tale , Detective Pikachu combines humor, heart and a touch of noir for a rollicking good time in front of the screen.

Two Can Play That Game (2001)

In Netflix’s vast library, there’s a wellspring of great 1990s-through-2000s-era romantic comedies, such as The Holiday , or Knocked Up , or It Could Happen To You , or The Wedding Planner , or...actually, I should probably stop there before this gets out of hand. But there’s one particular movie that stands out to me because it’s not on the tip of everyone’s tongue, yet it’s just as good as any of those movies: Two Can Play That Game . Featuring the talents of both Vivica A. Fox (who is, without question, one of the most watchable and captivating actresses every) and Morris Chestnut (whose always churns out arresting performances), this Mark Brown-directed rom-com is a witty and insightful exploration of the complexities of modern relationships and the games people play to maintain control. The movie follows Shanté, a successful marketing executive, believes she has the perfect formula for keeping her man in line. But when her boyfriend Keith begins to act out, she decides to put her strategies to the test. It’s a classic rom-com formula that works delightfully well.

300: Rise of an Empire (2014)

No matter what your views on Zack Snyder are—and, yes, they tend to live on either end of the spectrum, from loyal supporter to ardent hater—you can’t deny that his films own a signature, unadulterated aesthetic unmatched by any other director. Which means Noam Murro had some big shoes to fill when he directed the 300 sequel, 300: Rise of an Empire . Fortunately, he was aided by a magnetic cast that included the likes of Eva Green (perhaps the most underrated actress in Hollywood), Sullivan Stapleton, Rodrigo Santoro and Lena Headey. This expansion of the ancient Greece saga focuses on the naval battles that followed the heroic stand at Thermopylae. Themistocles, a new hero, rises to confront the Persian navy led by Artemisia, a vengeful commander. While the sequel doesn’t quite live up to the original, it’s still quite an entertaining movie that’s worth watching for Green’s performance alone.

Dune (1984)

I know everybody loves Denis Villeneuve’s version of Dune . I love watching Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya’s undeniable on-screen chemistry, enduring Austin Butler’s deliciously evil performance, experiencing Greig Fraser’s Oscar-winning cinematography. But I’m here to make a bold pitch: next time you have the choice, watch David Lynch’s Dune instead. While considered by many to be a failed adaptation of Frank Herbert’s famous source novel, I would argue that it stands as a delightfully archaic example of what used to be expected of sci-fi movies. Decidedly less self-serious than Villeneuve’s version, the 1984 version of Dune thrives on style larger-than-life philosophizing and, let’s be honest, a bit of camp. Lynch’s version transports us to the vast and treacherous desert planet of Arrakis, where political intrigue and interstellar conflict unfold over the most coveted substance in the universe: the spice melange. Starring Kyle MacLachlan, Francesca Annis, and Sting, Lynch's visionary style brings Herbert's classic to life with stunning visuals and a haunting score by Toto and Brian Eno.

Tangerine (2018)

LGBT movies have always held such power and presence, but over the past several years they’ve become much more of a staple in mainstream cinema. With films like Dallas Buyers Club , All of Us Strangers and Blue is the Warmest Color earning high praise and lots of awards, along with many stellar, career-defining performances, the genre has become one of the industry’s most fascinating. And perhaps 2015’s biggest addition to this growing catalog, alongside movies like Carol and The Danish Girl , was Tangerine . This vibrant film shot on a $100,000 budget from Sean Baker, who also directed The Florida Project and Red Rocket (along with this year’s Palme d'Or winner Anora ), offers a vibrant and raw portrayal of life on the streets of Los Angeles, following two transgender sex workers on Christmas Eve. This indie winner is noted for its groundbreaking use of iPhone cameras and its compelling performances by Kitana Kiki Rodriguez and Mya Taylor.

Wonder (2017)

On top of a vibrant writing career, Stephen Chbosky has low-key had an incredibly successful movie career as well. Not only did he direct the adaptation of his most famous novel, The Perks of Being a Wallflower , but he also wrote the scripts for Rent and 2017’s Beauty and the Beast . But one of his lesser known flicks has all the charm and charisma of those movies without calling too much attention to it. Wonder tells the heartwarming and inspirational story of August Pullman, The film, which has earned an 86% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, stars Jacob Tremblay, Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson in the starring roles. Tremblay’s portrayal of Auggie, combined with Chbosky’s sensitive direction, creates a powerful narrative about acceptance, kindness and the challenges and triumphs of being different. It’s a great story for viewers of all ages.
