The Nathan Kline Institute fosters a collaborative environment where research assistants have the opportunity to gain excellent experience for careers in neuroscience or clinical research.

The NKI-Rockland Sample Research Program (NKI-RS) is a large-scale (n = 1,500), open-science initiative focused on understanding brain maturation, brain health, and mental health relationships in a community sample across the lifespan utilizing innovative MRI- and EEG-based imaging approaches, in-depth clinical research assessments including general health, neuropsychological testing, physiological assessment, and in-lab fitness testing. Innovative remote testing tools via mobile technology are utilized for ecological momentary assessment, remote cognitive testing, and daily activity level assessment.

The NKI-RS is an open-science data resource for researchers worldwide and contributes to open data-sharing initiatives, such as the 1000 Functional Connectomes Project, International Neuroimaging Data-sharing Initiative. http://fcon_1000.projects.nitrc.org/indi/enhanced/
