hi there, im just starting the child with additional needs, feeling a bit overwhelmed.....just learning through the notes at the moment...what is the next step an assignment? How much work do you do each day? trying to juggle 2 kids, school run and visiting my mum who isn't well is a bit hectic !
Hi setanta..yeah the assignment should be there already for you. I was overwelmed also but its not so bad once you get into it. there is so much info online and the special needs books in library. its really up to you how much work you do each day. i did one hour some days..and a few hours other days if had time..dont pressure yourself as you have lots of time. I Have finished level 5 now and have to start level 6 soon. make sure you have some work experience lined up. think it was 30 hours for level 5 and 15 for level 6. best of luck with it.
Thanks Eevey...I'm currently waiting on garda clearance....I enjoyed the assignments...well I haven't got the results yet I have work exp lined up..does anyone know the average rate of pay
Hi setanta good luck with it. it says its about 20k pa to start off as an sna.
im starting level 6 now and find it daunting all over again as had break after level 5.
Hi, I was looking at sna courses ....There is an sna course starting Sept .. sna qqi level 5 ...... So it's a level 5 component cert ..... Is that sufficient? ( think qqi had replaced fetac?) Any advice appreciated . Tia
Hi Elll yeah it says qqi have replaced fetac..just googled it now..didnt know that..but it must be sufficent so.
good luck with it elll
Tk u . Was on a thread on chit chat as well and it seems that there is huge competition for jobs and sna level 5 on its own may not be enough to stand out as such . Although I do have experience of child with additional needs ....ot ....speech .... sensory issues etc but I don't know if this will be enough . The sna component on its own seemed attractive as only one half day a week.
hi yeah thats why chevron recommended i do level 5 and level 6 combined course. but there seems to be more jobs than before in the field so hopefully level 5 be grand. good luck.
hi guys was wondering if you guys be able to help me out, im doing the level 5 & 6 course with chevron , and im just at the brief project 1 and i was just wondering how did yous present it ? like in a folder or what ? thanks guys
