Use Ctrl + to Zoom in and Ctrl – to Zoom out.

Why use Teams Zoom

Zooming In makes it easier to read and notice details. Find what level is comfortable for your eyes and the type of work you do. It will help you reduce eyestrain and work more effectively.  Sometimes, Zooming out also helps to get the overall picture.

I use Teams Zoom for demos

I am conducting lots of sessions for customers almost on a daily basis. Teams is one of the products I cover. When I am showing Teams to audiences who have not seen it before, showing it in Zoom mode is very effective.The audience can appreciate various parts of the user interface and learn how to use it fairly quickly.

Press the CTRL key on keyboard and use the mouse Wheel.

Go to the top right corner where you see your user icon. Click on it to open the dropdown. Use the + and – keys to Zoom In or Out. The last button is to reset it to 100%.

Minimum is 60% and Maximum is 200%. You can cycle through following steps – 60, 70, 85, 100, 120, 145, 170, 200.

What is unique about Teams Zoom

There are two types of Zoom. Screen Zoom and Document Zoom. All Office tools (and many other apps) support document zoom.

Zooming makes the DOCUMENT grow bigger (or smaller). The menus (ribbon / UI) does not increase in size.

Teams is unique in the sense that the entire application behaves like a document. Therefore, when you use Teams Zoom the UI as well as the content becomes bigger.

For all other products, in order to Zoom in to the UI, you have to use Windows + and Windows – (Magnifier).

Hi, Microsoft 365 Insiders! We’re excited to share that Microsoft Teams Public Preview users can now use new zooming controls while viewing screenshare during Teams meetings.

Previously, meeting participants could only zoom using pinch-to-zoom gesture on a trackpad or other shortcuts. Now, you can use newly available buttons to zoom in, zoom out, and restore the original size of the incoming screenshare.

How it works

While attending a meeting or call with an incoming screenshare, use buttons to zoom in, zoom out and restore the original size of the screenshare.

Availability

To be able to use this feature, users need to be members of the Teams Public Preview and use the Windows, macOS or web (Edge, Chrome) Teams client. Other meeting participants are not required to be members of the Teams Public Preview. 

To enable your Teams client for the Public Preview, IT admins need to set an update policy that turns on  Show preview features . Learn how at  Public preview in Microsoft Teams . 

  • If the  Follow Office Preview  option is selected, it automatically enables Teams Public Preview features for any user enrolled in Office Current Channel (Preview). There are no more actions required by the end user. 
  • If the  Enabled  option is selected, the end user must also  opt in to Teams public preview in their Teams app to get access to Teams Public Preview features. 
  • If the  Forced  option is selected, it automatically enables Teams Public Preview for the end user. There are no more actions required by the end user.

Is Shared Content Appearing Too Small in Teams? Here’s Your Fix

“Hey, Kevin, can you zoom in on that spreadsheet?  I can’t see it very well”.  When presenting your screen over a Teams call, this is incredibly common.  As presenters, we are always fiddling with our Microsoft Excel, or Word zoom settings so all participants can see the presented content clearly.  And… it is completely unnecessary. 

As a participant in a meeting, here is a simple way to view what you need, without ever having to ask the presenter to do anything.  Zoom in all you want, independently, and you never have to interrupt the meeting to admit your failing eyesight.

While a presenter is presenting, if you want to magnify the image, simply hold the Control key on the keyboard and roll your scroll wheel on the mouse.  This action zooms in on the presentation and allows you to drag the image around as needed, during the presentation, like you would on Google Maps.  Using the wheel, while CTRL is pressed, you can magnify and reduce the image zoom all you want.  We know this is a common method for zooming into other applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Edge, Chrome, and now it is available in Teams as well.

Give it a try, and you’ll find less unnecessary interruptions in Teams meetings.

  • Select Rehearse with Coach

Students and educators can also use Speaker Coach during scheduled Teams meetings and live events. The Teams integration delivers private speaking suggestions and guidance during roundtable discussions or while sharing content from a PowerPoint or Word Document. Unobtrusive tips appear at the top of the Teams window and are only visible to the speaker. When you leave the meeting, Speaker Coach generates a timestamped report with actionable insights for improving speaking clarity, word choice, inclusiveness, and information. About th​e FHFA Generative AI in Housing Finance TechSprint

The FHFA Generative AI in Housing Finance TechSprint will be an in-person, team-based problem-solving event hosted by the Federal Housing Finance Agency’s (FHFA) Office of Financial Technology (OFT). The TechSprint will bring together technology, regulatory, housing, and consumer finance experts to identify use cases and associated control measures to support the responsible use of generative AI in housing finance.​

Partici​pants are organized into TechSprint teams and work over a three-day period to solve for problem statements centered around the question:

“How might the responsible use of generative AI promote a transparent, fair, equitable, and inclusive housing finance system, while fostering sustainable homeownership and rental opportunities?”

The TechSprint culminates in a Demo Day where each team will present its ideas to an independent panel of judges drawn from subject matter experts in government, industry, nonprofits, and academia.

The Generative AI in Housing Finance TechSprint will be held at FHFA’s Constitution Center headquarters in Washington, DC, and will run from July 22 to July 25, 2024. The application period to participate in-person at the TechSprint was open from March 20 through May 24, 2024.

FHFA Generative AI in Housing Finance TechSprint: Problem Statements

Umbrella Stateme​​nt​

Generative artificial intelligence (AI) has captured the imagination and interest of a diverse set of stakeholders, including industry, government, and consumers. For the housing finance system, the transformative potential of generative AI extends beyond technological advancement. Generative AI presents an opportunity to promote a housing finance system that is transparent, fair, equitable, and inclusive and fosters sustainable homeownership. Realizing this potential, however, is contingent on a commitment to responsible innovation and ensuring that the development and use of generative AI is supported by ethical considerations and safety and soundness.

FHFA’s Generative AI in Housing Finance TechSprint challenges participants to address the question,  “How might the responsible use of generative AI promote a transparent, fair, equitable, and inclusive housing finance system while fostering sustainable homeownership and rental opportunities?”​

TechSprint participants will demonstrate:

  • A key  use case  for generative AI in one of the four areas of focus provided below; and
  • Recommended  control measures , incorporating​ careful consideration of the associated risks.

Focused Statements ​

The four areas of focus are as follows:

  • Consumer Experience:  How might generative AI be used to further educate and empower prospective homebuyers in evaluating, comparing, and obtaining a mortgage loan and in sustaining their homeownership over time?
  • Assessing Creditworthiness:  How might generative AI be used to improve the evaluation of homebuyer credit, as well as the fairness of the credit decisions related to mortgage loans, particularly for homebuyers from underserved communities?
  • Operations:  How might generative AI be used to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of operational processes within the housing finance system, from origination to servicing and secondary market activities?
  • Risk Management and Compliance:  How might generative AI be used to enhance the effectiveness of risk management and compliance processes within the housing finance system?

Laser point or draw on PowerPoint slides in Microsoft Teams meetings

When using PowerPoint Live to share content in a Teams meeting, emphasize your points and engage viewers with the colorful laser pointer and drawing tools. Your “ink” will be visible to everyone in the meeting.

Only the presenter can point and draw on the slides.
