After taking his training from Daisy Irani’s acting school, Khan went on to make a career in the field of acting. He worked as a model in his beginning days in the industry. Then, in 1988, Salman made his debut as a supporting actor in the Hindi film ‘Biwi Ho To Aisi,’ where his voice was dubbed.

Salman worked very hard during his struggling days. He never used his father’s name to influence the producers, rather giving auditions to get the roles. After much struggle, Khan bagged his first leading role in the Bollywood Romantic Family Drama ‘Maine Pyaar Kiya’ (1989), which was one of India’s highest-grossing films at that time. The film also earned him his first nomination for Best Actor at Filmfare, unfortunately, he could not win the award.

The actor then appeared in ‘Baaghi: A Rebel for Love’ (1991), which was a commercial success, followed by some average films like ‘Patthar Ke Phool,’ ‘Sanam Bewafa,’ and ‘Kurbaan.’

Khan was the first Bollywood actor to feature in a Hollywood film and made his debut with Marigold: An Adventure in India. He has also launched his production companies under the names Salman Khan Being Human Productions and Salman Khan Film (SKF). His first produced film (under the banner SKF) Dr Cabbie, was a Canadian movie that became the second highest-grossing film in Canada.

Controversies

• In 1999, the actor was accused of poaching endangered wild animals after allegedly shooting a rare black antelope near Jodhpur, while his shooting for the film ‘Hum Saath Saath Hai.’ Later, in April 2018, Salman was found guilty in the case and was sentenced to 5 years imprisonment by the Jodhpur Court.
• On the night of 28 September 2002, Salman drove his car over the people sleeping on the pavement in an area of north Bombay. One man died in that incident while three got severely injured.
• His relationship with Aishwarya Rai has brought a lot of negative publicity for the actor as he was accused by Aishwarya’s parents for harassing their daughter. A police complaint was lodged against him but he denied all the allegations imposed upon him.
• In 2003, Khan was accused of calling Vivek Oberoi 41 times in one night and threatening him to death. Vivek was reportedly seeing Aishwarya Rai at that time.
• Again in the year 2008, Salman Khan became a controversial figure when he had a serious argument and fight with Shah Rukh Khan at Katrina Kaif ‘s birthday party.
• In December 2017, an FIR was lodged against him and Shilpa Shetty in Mumbai by Navin Ramchandra Lade, General Secretary of the Rojgar Aghari Republican Party of India, for allegedly using the word “bhangi” at a public place, which hurt the sentiments of the Scheduled Caste community.

In November 2022, she made fresh allegations against Salman Khan through a post on Instagram in which she accused him of domestic abuse and sodomy. In the post, which she later deleted, she wrote,

• In March 2022, a lower court in Mumbai summoned the actor to appear before the court on 5 April 2022 following which the actor approached the Bombay High Court to challenge the process (summons) issued to him by the lower court. The summon was related to the case of his alleged misbehaviour with a journalist named Ashok Pandey in 2019. The journalist, in his complaint, alleged that the actor snatched his mobile phone when some journalists started taking his pictures while he was cycling on a Mumbai road. [5] The Hindu
• In June 2022, he was nearly killed by a sharpshooter who was sent by gangster Lawrence Bishnoi ; this came amid the investigation of the murder of Sidhu Moose Wala who was reportedly killed by Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang. According to sources, Lawrence Bishnoi had been planning to kill the actor for a long time, and this time, he planned to kill him through a sharpshooter during his daily cycling routine in the morning during which the actor remains vulnerable as he doesn’t prefer to be guarded by security personnel while riding the bicycle. Reportedly, the shooters had to abort the plan to kill him after an escort of Mumbai Police came outside the actor’s house in Mumbai. • In June 2023, Hema Sharma, a well-known social media influencer and actress, widely recognized as ‘Viral Bhabhi,’ made public allegations about being physically mistreated by Salman Khan’s security personnel during her attempt to meet the actor while he was filming Dabangg 3 in 2019. Hema expressed feeling humiliated and being treated in an undignified manner in front of a substantial crowd of over 100 individuals, including some people she knew. She further mentioned that although Salman Khan was not present at the time of the incident involving his security officers, it occurred in his vicinity, leading her to believe that he could have intervened to prevent it. • In July 2023, Salman received death threats, reportedly from Goldy Brar , when he expressed anger over Elvish Yadav ‘s offensive comments towards Bebika Dhurve and Jiya Shankar , fellow contestants on Bigg Boss OTT 2. Salman Khan is an Indian film actor, producer, television personality, singer and philanthropist. He appears only in Bollywood films. Appeared in his first advertisement for a cold drink called Campa Cola at the age of 15. Salman made his debut in 1989 by doing a supporting role in the movie Biwi Ho To Aisi (1988). The following year he had the leading role in Sooraj Barjatya’s romantic hit Maine Pyar Kiya (1989). From there he became a heartthrob of Indian cinema.

Salman Khan was born on 27 December 1965. Salman Khan is the eldest son of the legendary writer Salim Khan , who penned many super-hits in the yesteryear’s like Sholay (1975), Deewaar (1975), and Don (1978).

During the early 1990s, he starred in the action drama Baaghi: A Rebel for Love (1990) , the action film Patthar Ke Phool (1991) , and the romance Saajan (1991), all of which were financially successful. However, his other releases during this period, including Suryavanshi (1992), Jaagruti (1992), and Dil Tera Aashiq (1993), failed commercially, resulting in a brief setback in his career.

In 1994, Khan featured in the Barjatya-directed family drama Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! , which proved to be the highest-grossing Bollywood film to that point; the success of the film established his career in Bollywood.

In a film career spanning more than twenty five years, Salman Khan has received numerous awards, including two National Film Awards as a producer, and two Filmfare Awards as an actor. Drunken driving on sleeping people-  On 28 September 2002, his car Toyota Land cruiser had crushed five sleeping people outside a bakery in Mumbai’s Bandra suburb. Out of 5, one was killed while other 4 were badly injured. The case has ended in Bombay High court but is still pending in Supreme Court.

• Salman Khan grew up in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, born to a well-established family on December 27, 1965. In the year 2022, Salman Khan will be 57 years old.
