    MSc Econ at LSE will get better than or equal placement in PhD programmes than the MPhil at Oxford. Oxford and Cambridge compete with Top 30 US PhD programmes, LSE is a Top 10, despite the Oxbridge brand. The course simply isn't rigorous enough to justify the higher cost and extra year. Mind you, this is coming from someone at Oxford.
