Construction is an important part of the Indian economy and growth. The formwork used in the project is one of the most important factors as it accounts for around 25–30% of the overall project cost of the structure. Today India’s urban population is the second largest in the world and its future development leads to increased demand for housing and to overcome this limitation, India must urgently prepare for land acquisition and rapid construction of housing units. This study is aimed to evaluate the cost benefit analysis of modern and conventional formwork along with its feasibility followed by the estimation of the two techniques on a 27 storied residential building located in Guwahati. This study is focussed on the comparison of two formwork in terms of cost and time. Subsequently, a cost benefit analysis has been done for two buildings built with conventional formwork and the MIVAN technique respectively to assess the impact of time saved in construction on the final value of the project. The findings suggest that there is a cost reduction of 12.38% when MIVAN technology is used instead of conventional. Moreover, it is 14.43% more economically viable than conventional construction. This study is limited to a comparison of conventional formwork with MIVAN technology. Other modern formworks are not included in the comparison. Since cost benefit analysis has been done in this research, this study will help to check the viability of the project and to enable better judgement in the choice of formwork for the construction of the mass dwellings.

Construction industry mainly depends on cost and time so to achieve certain goals traditional methods only can't be used so to make the industry fast and more profitable new technologies are being introduced and also are being used all around the world. As construction is the significant sector of the Indian economy and due to India's rising population so to achieve its housing requirement new technologies are being developed and used and the most common out which is Mivan formwork. Mivan is a quality aluminum structure developed by a European construction company known as Mivan Company Ltd. In 1990, the company from Malaysia began manufacturing these formwork systems. This innovative form of work is actually suitable for constructing houses in large quantities at a faster speed.

Construction is one of the significant sectors of Indian economy and is an integral part of the development. Today India's urban population is the second largest in the world and its future development leads to increased demand for housing to cope with this problem India should desperately need to plan for acquisition of land and rapid creation of dwelling units. Construction is a complex process involving basically the areas of Architectural planning, Engineering & Construction. There is growing realization today that speed of construction needs to be given greater importance especially for large housing projects. This is not only essential for the faster turnover of equipment and investment leading possible to the reduction in the housing cost but also for achieving the national objective of creating a large stock to overcome shortest possible time. Fortunately, some of the advanced technologies catering to faster speed of construction are already available in the country. For e.g. Prefabrication, autoclaved blocks, tunnel formwork, aluminium formwork (MIVAN Technology) of construction etc. The aluminium formwork system was developed by Malaysian Company and that's why the aluminium formwork technology is named after it.

:The project involves detailed cost estimation and duration analysis of a building constructed by MIVAN formwork and Conventional formwork. The buildings are of G+21 floors where the saleable area of building with Mivan formwork is 8747.28 S.ft and that with Conventional Method is 9786.67 Sft on each floor with 3.0 m as the height of each floor. Later comparative analysis is done on cost and duration of both the buildings.

Construction is one of the significant sectors and integral part of Indian economy. Also, it is of the important parameter in development of country. India is desperately planning for rapid manufacturing and creation of dwelling units for economical construction facilities Formwork enables to cast and construct the important elements and components of any construction facilities, which are required to be strong and effectively handle the structure. Mivan is comparatively a new construction technology upcoming for successful completion of mass project especially repetitive in nature. In this paper we have discussed about cost as well as time comparison of mivan technology with conventional formwork technology. The Mivan technology is appreciably efficient with cost, quality and time saving as compare to conventional one. The basic ideology is to reach a sturdy conclusion regarding the superiority of the two techniques over another.

Nowadays, most of the clients expect the completion of the project in the shortest time possible to minimize the costs. For the high-rise buildings, the most effective way to speed up work is to achieve a very short floor cycle. Productivity has for many years been an issue for the construction site. Productivity enables the companies to monitor their own performance against site performance. Formwork systems are among the factors determining the success of a construction of a project in terms of speed quality, labour cost and safety. There are also signs of slowed productivity in India relative to other developed countries. The productivity of construction labour in other countries e.g. Japan increased by 6.6% a year, while Indian construction productivity rose by only 1.6%. In metro cities, few companies have started using faster construction techniques. Concrete formwork labour costs constitute over 1/3 of total concrete construction costs. Hence, in this paper Productivity of Mi...
In the developing country like India construction work plays an important role to increase the economy of the country. Also with the growing population urbanization is being the need of time. A good construction project has to focus on saving both time and money without losing the quality of work. One of the factor influencing the project time and economy is formwork. Different types of formworks are available in terms of material and function, so it becomes necessary to select a suitable formwork for a particular project. In Indian construction mostly aluminum (MIVAN technology) and conventional formworks are being used among which aluminum formwork is considered to save time and money for mass housing projects and large scale construction whereas, conventional formworks are found cheaper for small scale projects. For speedy construction MIVAN technology is best suited as it is easy to install and gives better finish. Apart other formwork systems like prefabricated, tunnel formwork etc. aluminum and timber formworks are commonly used as these are easily available almost all over India.
In India, development industry is one of the most significant piece of the nation as far as economy and advancement of the nation. With developing populace, there is urgent need in the development of framework industry and furthermore advancement of new strategies in development industry. In this way utilization of advance assembling strategies over the old traditional systems is significant parameter for the improvement of the nation. This venture portrays the need of mivan innovation in development industry. Mivan is another innovation contrasted with traditional methods which helps in fruitful culmination of the undertaking inside recommended time and furthermore cost sparing. Right now is accomplished for cost and time between ordinary formwork and mivan formwork by utilizing Microsoft Project.

MIVAN formwork is best suited for large-scale construction with typical floors where the number of repetitions is high. Gulghane [ 4] concluded that construction by using MIVAN technology is quite cheaper than the conventional method and saves about 12.5% of the total cost. Many finishing works are saved like plastering, brickwork, etc.
