Inclusive Education: Lived Experiences of 21st century Teachers in the Philippines

This study provided a meta-synthesis of Filipino teachers' experiences with inclusive education. It used 15 of the 214 preliminary researches and was filtered using a set of selection and exclusion criteria. Furthermore, the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) flow diagram was used to arrange the chosen research papers. In six steps by Clark and Braune, constant comparison and thematic analysis yielded eight (8) themes and two (2) meta-themes. According to the findings, 21st-century teachers are progressing in adhering to continuing professional education, adopting inclusion policies, and incorporating instructional innovations and activities to promote inclusivity. Teachers experienced recurring obstacles such as insufficient preparedness and expertise for special education, a lack of educational services, and general social contexts that substantially impact teacher teaching. However, professionalism and perseverance in adjusting inclusion justify the teacher's responsibility to sustain resilience and inventiveness for their students in a challenging educational environment. It concludes that inclusive education necessitates progressive teacher education and ongoing provision of instructional aids and services. It suggests that schools incorporate a variety of training modules and seminars for general education instructors to achieve the criteria for conducting inclusive education programs. In order to resolve the concerns about inclusive education, the local community education committee, parents, teachers, and school personnel should work together.

This study meta-synthesize significant findings of relevant studies that have incorporated sign language into an inclusive classroom. The studies related to sign language in an inclusive classroom from 2014-2021 with the use of a set inclusion and exclusion criteria have screened and included nineteen (19) studies. The included studies were collected from Publish or Perish Software and were organized using Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) flow diagram. Braun and Clarke’s six-step thematic analysis was used to analyze the synthesized data which resulted in five (5) themes, namely: insufficient support from parents; communication barrier; language barrier; lack of resources; and lack of skills. Results also showed positive feedback when sufficient supportive services were provided. Therefore, incorporating sign language in an inclusive classroom requires skillful sign language teachers, sufficient resource support, and consistency in using sign language. It is recommended that academic institutions advocate sign language to normal students and teachers to achieve effective communication with the non-hearing community.

This study is done to draw a comparative analysis between the evaluation process for special education needs among primary education students in the USA and Zambia. The paper studies the effectiveness of the evaluation methods and the processes of identifying students with learning disabilities in both the countries of the USA and Zambia. There is no appropriate definition for learning disability but in the most basic way, it can be said that learning disability is a term that is used to describe many different neurological disorders.

This study determined the extent of teachers' receptiveness of inclusive education in a blended learning modality in the Division of Laguna The study utilized the mixed method. For teachers, it is acceptable to have inclusive education and they are willing to adjust in any curriculum related aspect they are just worried on student behavior since they are not always acquainted with them. Teachers support the goal of education to integrate students with special needs into a flexible learning environment in order for them to obtain quality education that maximizes their potential for holistic development. The self-assessment of teacher respondents on the extent of their receptiveness of inclusive education in a blended learning modality were not influenced by their personal characteristics. Teachers are challenged with lack of teachers' training and experience, students' learning curve and motivation, diverse learners, parental involvement, availability of resources and new normal teaching strategies. Teachers experienced difficult yet engaging and exciting teaching. They were able to think of flexible teaching pedagogies to promote students' needs and motivation. With these they experience continuous professional development.

The Learning Management System commonly abbreviated (LMS), is an internet based software application that is used to deliver educational courses and manage training programs. Usually used to administer the delivery of course content, student registration, administration of assignments and quizzes and record keeping; the LMS is a versatile educational tool which can also be used to facilitate online, distance and hybrid courses and professional training programs. In this report we discuss the design and implementation of a new Learning management System named Conception, which will be used by secondary schools in Grenada as a supplementary learning tool. Firstly an overview of Learning Management Systems; the features and functions served as a basis for identifying and defining the software requirements and specifications for the new learning solution. Additionally a survey was done involving the stakeholders to further validate the specific requirements and to obtain valuable feedback, opinions and recommendations regarding the impact of the adoption and use of a new learning software solution. Moreover an integrated approach was used to guide the overall development process by incorporating both Agile and instructional design methodologies to design and build a functional LMS. The main features of Conception includes: an administrator module capable of user management and school information management. An instructor module capable of uploading assignments and learning content as well as creating quizzes. Finally a student module which allows student s to download learning content, submit assignments, take quizzes and view their grades. Conception also includes a messaging feature which allows communication between instructors and students. The system supports a wide range of file types and uses a mobile first responsive web interface.

From scientific study it is proved that analyzing anything based on the data,facts,issues,problems helps in finding various problems,issues and things that needs to be changed so that the system or the outcome of the result that we want can be up to the mark.These analysis works as an important tool in maintaining the standards and quality of the outcome. Analysis in any field helps in getting insights of that particular filed. These analysis include the deep and thorough information of any thing that needs to be analyzed. The same method can also be used for the analysis of the online teaching quality that is being followed by most of the institutions, and colleges these days due to the pandemic outbreak ,so that students can attend classes in online mode while they are in their home being healthy and safe. Since there are large number of students and they have various subjects and teachers allotted to them, there can be various issues that a student can face while having their online classes. To tackle this what we can do is to make an online system that can collect the feedback of the students in each and every subject with the respective teacher. Through this online system it will be easier for the students to share their problems without any hesitation and difficulty. All these feedback's then can be used and analyzed to solve each issues and problems faced by the students. This paper deals with the problem of feedback of students regarding their online teaching and presents an online teaching quality feedback system and its importance in improving the quality of teaching. Thus it is clearly visible that online teaching quality feedback system have the ability to improve the quality teaching and learning.

: In times of disaster, it is essential to consider the experiences and preparedness of persons with disabilities. This study provided a meta-synthesis of disaster experiences and preparedness of people with disabilities. Eighteen (18) out of 504 studies were chosen based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The quality of the selected articles was assessed using the Critical Appraisal Skills Programme (CASP) and arranged using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and MetaAnalyses (PRISMA) diagram.

Background: As Philippine School Doha alumni move on and open another chapter in life, they face challenges and new experiences. They may indulge themselves in a new type of environment of rebuilding one's identity abroad. Method: The qualitative paper follows the phenomenological research design to understand the lived experiences and identity development of PSD alumni studying abroad. The necessary data was gathered from a semi-structured interview which was derived from the central question of the study "How do PSD graduates manage their education embracing an international setup?" Four themes were derived and classified that were necessary to make the simulacrum. Findings: It was discovered that internal and external aspects and changes affect one's ability to adapt to the international setting. Specifically, homesickness, culture, accent, and language barriers are some factors that affect the process of adaptation. The participants emphasized that the workload they experience in the chosen country is more practical and directed on their selected course. Hence, students mostly initiate interaction between both parties. Conclusion: These PSD alumni pursued tertiary education abroad to explore and discover opportunities. Obstacles were encountered due to their unfamiliarity with their reality of venturing into a new chapter of life as a student. Overall, their experience has affected their lifestyle, mental and emotional health, learning outcomes, and relations. Recommendation: This paper suggests tackling a larger population of participants from different fields of college courses to establish the accuracy of the data gathered. They also recommend further investigation regarding the other aspects that affect one's process of acculturating; and lifestyles practiced abroad, such as the cost of living, economic status, and peers.

Education is a lifelong process that makes an individual’s transformation in order to become competitive and survive life’s challenges. It is a process in which an individual acquires the skills, knowledge and competencies necessary in life. In its broadest sense it is a form of learning in which knowledge, skills and habits of learners are transferred from one generation to another. Through education, people become equipped with the essential knowledge, usable skills, rightful attitudes, and moral values. Furthermore education plays a huge and vital role in the development of every individual.

Due to COVID-19 pandemic, educational establishments all over the world have been forced to experiment with elearning. Delivering classes via an online mode has created problem for both institutions and students. The purpose of this paper was to conduct a survey to learn about students' perspectives and their experiences with online classes and blended learning mode as well. The survey comprises of 200 students from school, college and university level having 65 percent of males and 35 percent of females. Further 55 students were examined through experimental and control groups to find the effectiveness of blended learning mode. The results of the survey reveal that online learning proves to be a comfortable mode for students' safeguard learning during pandemics situations but it cannot be an alternate of traditional learning.
