STEM Research Academy The Baruch College Now STEM Research Academy is designed to provide NYC public high school students with an opportunity to build their science knowledge and skills by engaging in 'authentic inquiry' activities. Twenty-five students will be selected based on NY State High School Regents Exams in English and math, GPA, writing sample, and transcript review.

Applicants for our college-credit courses must be in the 11th or 12th grade during the semester they are participating. STEM Research Academy applicants must be in either the 10th or 11th grade and from a historically underrepresented group within science. Academic requirements for each program vary (ELA, PSAT/SAT scores, GPA, etc.).

What We Do STEM RA is a two-semester program facilitated in collaboration with CUNY's College Now program. New York City Public School (NYCPS) high school students participate in a spring semester pre-college course, introducing them to the practice of scientific research.
