APSC has released notification for 25 posts of Research Assistant  in Planning Services under Transformation & Development Department, Govt of Assam. 

No. of Posts: 25 (Twenty Five)

Reservation of posts: 16 posts for Open Category, 5 posts for OBC/MOBC, 1 post for SC, 2 posts for STP and 1 post for STH.

Scale of Pay: – Pay scale + Grade Pay + Other allowances as admissible to the Assam State Government employees from time to time (per month).

Pay scale (PB – 3):  Rs. 22, 000/- to 97 ,000/-  + Grade Pay: Rs. 9,400/-

Age Eligibility:

The candidates should not be less than 21 years of age and not more than 38 years of age as on 01/01/2023. The upper age limit is relaxable : (i) By 5 years for SC/ST candidates, i.e. upto 43 years. (ii) By 3 years for OBC/MOBC candidates i.e. upto 41 years as per Govt. Notification No. ABP. 6/2016/9 dated Dispur the 25th April 2018. (iii) For Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) by 10 years irrespective of SC/ST/OBC and General Category of candidate as per Govt. Memorandum No. ABP 180/2017/105 dated Dispur the 7th January, 2019.

Education Qualification :

Bachelor Degree in Arts, Science or Commerce from any recognized University with either Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Agricultural Economics, Sociology, Anthropology, Social Anthropology, Social Work, Business Administration, Business Management, Geography or Commerce as one of the subjects. Preference shall be given to Honours Graduates. (Upload relevant marksheet/certificate reflecting the subjects)

Eligibility Criteria :

(i) The candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam. (ii) The candidate must produce PRC issued in Assam for educational purpose/ Employment Exchange Registration certificate / Voter ID card of the candidate or his/her parents will be treated as proof of residency along with the application form. State Govt. Employees of Assam need not submit any documents regarding domicile proof, however, they will have to submit No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their respective employer.

Assam Public Service Commission has issued an official notice regarding recruiting Research Assistant in Planning Services under Transformation and Development Department. Online applications are invited from Indian Citizens. Through this recruitment drive, 25 vacant seats are going to be filled. 

Interested candidates can apply from the 29th of March 2023 to the 28th of April 2023 and candidates can pay the application fee 30th of April 2023. The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is one of the world’s leading public health universities. Our mission is to improve health and health equity in the UK and worldwide; working in partnership to achieve excellence in public and global health research, education and translation of knowledge into policy and practice.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Research Assistant / Research Fellow to join an international consortium to develop a better evidence base for the control of tuberculosis (TB). In particular, the successful candidate will work on data analysis and modelling to better understand and hence tackle the spread of drug-resistant TB. 

The post-holder will have a good quantitative background. Knowledge of mathematical modelling of infectious diseases and analytical data analysis in R are essential at Research Assistant level, along with a relevant first degree in in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, epidemiology or statistics. Relevant experience of quantitative public health research, covering application of statistical methods and mathematical modelling in R are essential at Research Fellow level, along with a postgraduate degree. The post is full-time 35 hours per week, 1.0 FTE and fixed term for 2 years with the possibility of extension to 4 years. The post is funded by the Wellcome Trust and is available from 01 October 2024. 

The salary will be on the Academic Pathway salary scale, Grade 5 in the range £39,182-£44,847 per annum for Research Assistant and Grade 6 in the range £44,847-£50,808 per annum for Research Fellow (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service.  Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at LSHTM.
