In college, there are many instances where you may be required to write a 250-word essay – your application, exam questions, small writing prompts, etc. A 250-word limit may seem like a novel to some, but others find it difficult to get their point across with so few words. In this guide, we will look at a 250-word essay example, along with tips on how to write a great 250-word essay.   Bonus: Need to write a longer essay? See this guide on how to write a 500-word essay

The Basic Format of a 250-Word Essay

All essays consist of the same three parts: an introduction with a thesis, a body paragraph or body paragraphs that support the thesis, and a concluding paragraph that summarizes the overall essay.

In 250 words, you will most likely have 3-4 paragraphs in total, each with 50-100 words. This will allow for 3-5 concise but detailed sentences per paragraph.

A Step-by-Step 250-Word Essay Example

To help visualize this process, let’s go ahead and write a simple 250-word essay.  You’ll see our writing sample in green and our explanation of what we did (and what can be done) with each section in normal text.

Without further ado, let’s get started on our essay!

TOPIC:  How has your family upbringing influenced your educational goals?

Step 1 – Write Your Thesis

Your thesis is the first thing you should consider in your essay. Simply put, it’s the main idea of your essay that will control everything else you write. If you could summarize the question in just one sentence, how would you do it?

For our topic   How has your family upbringing influenced your educational goals?  our thesis will be:

My parents saw little value in a formal education. It was their lack of passion that led me to my educational goals.

Step 2 – Write Your Introduction

In the introduction, the first sentence can be a broad or general statement that sets the tone for the piece. It is usually supported by a second sentence that leads into the thesis. The optional third sentence may pose a question that the thesis aims to answer, or it may prompt the reader to think about the topic in a different light. The final sentence of the intro paragraph clearly establishes the thesis.

As a general rule of thumb, the introduction should go from broad to specific, sentence by sentence, gradually leading up to your thesis. Here’s a sample example of an introductory paragraph.

Parents are supposed to push you past your goals, or at least, that’s what I always believed. I was raised in the generation of “you can do anything if you put your mind to it.” My parents did not follow that philosophy, and they saw little value in a formal education. It was their lack of passion that led me to my educational goals.

Word count:  Introductory paragraph, 64 words.

Step 3 – Write The Body Paragraph(s)

Next, we’ll continue with the body paragraph. Remember, body paragraphs should support the thesis and be about 3-5 sentences or 50-100 words long. In a short essay you may opt for only one body paragraph but in a longer one you may need more.

So how should your body paragraphs support your thesis? Think of each body paragraph as an argument that supports it.

Working with our thesis   “My parents never saw the value of formal education and that’s what lead me to my educational goals” , then each paragraph could be about   how not seeing the value of formal education led to the writer pursuing it.

For example, maybe the writer didn’t want to end up in the same work as their parents. Or maybe it was the parents’ lack of belief in the writer that pushed them to pursue a better future.

Let’s have a look at what a body paragraph can look like for our 250 word essay.

From as far back as I can remember, I knew I didn’t want to follow in the footsteps of my parents, at least not when it came to work. My father had worked on the family farm all his life and my mother had been a housewife since graduation. They were both content with the simplicity of their lives and wanted the same for me. I remember my father telling me that college was “expensive and a waste of four years”.  I knew however, that I wanted a career in the city that would be more challenging than simple farm life could provide. The only way to make that possible would be through formal education and a college degree.

Word count:  Body paragraph 119 words. Total essay is now 181 words.

Step 4 – Summarize with a Conclusion

The final paragraph is the conclusion. You may start this paragraph with “To summarize,” “As evident by X, Y, and Z,”  or a similar statement that highlights the biggest points in your essay. Use the conclusion paragraph to sum up the main point of your essay using different words. The last sentence can be something broad that leaves the reader wondering. Let’s see how we can write a conclusion for our sample essay.

While my parents may not understand the value of formal education, I know it is essential for my future. This has helped me immensely, by making me realize that without strong parental support, I’m the only one who’s responsible for my own goals. In a way this has been the strongest source of motivation. And for that, I am forever grateful.

Notice how we summarize the main point of the essay in the first sentence. We then connect the first sentence to the a conclusion we arrive at. Finally we end in an optimistic tone by stating how this has been helpful and we are grateful. Unlike the introduction paragraph, which flows from broad sentences to specific, a conclusion generally flows the opposite way, from specific sentences to broader concepts.

Word count: Concluding paragraph 61 words. Total essay is now 242 words.

Sure, we came up 8 words short. But being that close should not be considered an issue. If for some reason you are required to write 250 words minimum, you can make the essay longer by sprinkling in a few extra words.

The Entire 250-word Essay  Altogether

Parents are supposed to push you past your goals, or at least, that’s what I always believed. I was raised in the generation of “you can do anything if you put your mind to it.” My parents did not follow that philosophy, and they saw little value in a formal education. It was their lack of passion that led me to my educational goals. While my parents may not understand the value of formal education, I know it is essential for my future. This has helped me immensely by making me realize that without strong parental support, I’m the only one who’s responsible for my own goals. In a way this has been the strongest source of motivation. And for that, I am forever grateful.

Should I Write More Than 250 Words or Less Than 250 Words?

When a professor or college entry application asks for a “250 word essay,” 250 words is generally a rough guide. No one is going to fail you if you go over or under the limit by a few words. We’d say a good gauge is plus or minus 50 words. As a general rule of thumb though, try to stay as close to 250 words as possible without going too far over or under.

Essay Writing Tips

Here are some quick tips for writing a great 250-word essay:

  • Write the first draft from start to finish without any pauses. This will make the writing sound fluid, and you can make adjustments after that.
  • Avoid over-editing your work. Ideally, you should take a long pause between editing sessions so you can clear your head and come back with a fresh perspective.
  • Try not to think about the word count too much. Once you get in the habit of writing four 3-5 sentence paragraphs, you’ll find your words naturally get close to 250.
  • Don’t throw fluff sentences in your essay. Professors see right through those. Instead, think of an additional sentence to enhance the support in your body paragraphs.
  • If you feel like you have concisely and sufficiently answered the question below the word count, trust your gut. Most instructors will value quality over quantity.

The more 250-word essays you write, the easier they will become. Feel free to practice with free essay prompts online to train your brain to write with this rhythm. You’ll soon be able to whip out 250 words without checking your word count!

Through self-reflection and introspection , you delve into the recesses of your soul, gaining a deeper understanding of your own personality traits and characteristics. This process of self-exploration allows you to unearth the strengths that define you and the weaknesses that provide opportunities for growth.

Identifying your core values and beliefs is another essential step in effectively describing your personality. By exploring your fundamental principles and ideals, you gain insight into the motivations behind your actions and the driving force behind your decisions . These values serve as the undercurrent that weaves together the fabric of your personality, giving coherence and purpose to your thoughts and behaviors. Understanding how your personality traits align with your core values enables you to articulate a more comprehensive and authentic depiction of yourself.

To breathe life into your personality description, it is crucial to gather evidence and examples that showcase your traits in action. Recall specific instances where your personality has manifested itself, and examine the behaviors, thoughts, and emotions that were present. By employing sensory details and evocative storytelling, you paint a vibrant picture that engages the reader’s imagination. It is through this artful depiction that your personality comes to life on the page, leaving a lasting impression.

Importance of Communication Essay

500+ words importance of communication essay.

For every human being, communication is one of the essential parts of our lives. People build relationships in their personal and professional lives based on communication. Effective communication works as a foundation for respect and trust to grow. It helps in better understanding a person and the context of the conversation. People always believe that their way of communication is better than others. To communicate effectively, individuals should understand the motion behind the said information. We know that communication is effortless, but miscommunication between two or more individuals sometimes leads to conflicts and distress. Building relationships at home, work, and social affairs will be easier if you know the right way to communicate effectively. It is required to have better communication skills such as non-verbal communication, listening and managing stress can improve the relationship between individuals.

Meaning of Communication

Communication is essential for all of us, whether humans or animals. Communication is a part of written and spoken language, and altogether it completes the communication process. Both use different languages to communicate because it’s hard to survive in this world without communication.

Good communication skills are all about exchanging ideas and thoughts to convey information. It is a two-way conversation that includes vocalisation as well as a gesture. One of the crucial purposes of communication is to express ideas, needs or thoughts, and one’s beliefs with clarity for a mutually accepted solution.

Communication skills cannot be underestimated. Before languages were invented, people communicated with their hand gestures, body language, etc. We all require better communication skills at every step of our life. Personal and professional life will get hampered if you lack practical communication.

Importance of Effective Communication

People understand the importance of communication, but sometimes they cannot communicate through communication. It happens due to a lack of better communication skills. Below, we have discussed a few ways to communicate effectively.

  • Interruption: It becomes very annoying when someone disrupts you while talking. It looks pretty unethical to disrupt someone while talking constantly, and the conversation can take a different turn. So, while talking, let the other person complete their talk before you start talking.
  • Listen patiently: Listen patiently when someone tries to make a healthy conversation. It is one of the ways to do effective communication, as it gives a clear understanding of what the person is trying to say.
  • View your body language: Body language speaks about your personality. Some people make uncomfortable gestures through their body language. So, you should keep your body language friendly and warm rather than keeping it arrogant.
  • Do not go over your point: Communication is all about expressing thoughts so that the other person can understand. It is not that you are trying to prove something correct and the other person incorrect. Some people try to win the conservation, which leads to struggles and arguments.
  • Watch your words: Before telling someone something, make sure you know what you are saying. We often say things that we should not do out of anger or anxiety. Remember, once spoken, words can not be withdrawn. Thus, it is suggested that you do not say something that you can regret later.
  • Practice: If there is a professional meeting where you need to communicate about your product or work, it is recommended to practise already. Practise in front of the mirror or with a friend only. Choose how your conversation will begin, all the points you cover, and how you will end it.

As many people may feel comfortable communicating, communication is an art developed through practice and evaluation; every good communicator passes through a process to learn communication and practice skills, review themselves, and decrease where they can be.

Communication is essential to share our thoughts and feelings to live a happy life. Better communication makes us feel better about everything surrounding us and makes us suffer less. So, it is necessary to learn the art of communication to put across one point well.

Therefore, communication is a vital aspect of our existence. Effective communication can be achieved by being mindful of different elements of communication. Using appropriate communication in appropriate settings is essential for effective communication.

How to Write a 250 Word Essay

Have you come across a 250 word essay in a scholarship or college application? These shorter essays can be tricky for students because of the limited word count. In this guide, you will learn how to write a successful 250 word essay with our step-by-step process:

Outline your essay in bullet points

Only answer the question being asked, don’t worry about the word count in your first draft.

Let’s dive in so you can complete your 250 word essays!

An outline is a good move for writing most scholarship essays, but is an absolute necessity if you are writing a short 250 word essay. This will allow you to answer the essay prompt in the simplest, most concise way. My suggestion is to think about the essay in five bullets:

  • Hook the reader with an engaging first line and introduce your response.
  • Expand on point 1
  • Expand on point 2
  • Expand on point 3
  • Conclude your essay with a meaningful last line

The resulting bullet points may not craft the perfect essays. As a result, you will probably need to smooth it out a bit and include some transitions. This is totally fine, but be careful how much you add onto the essay. Try to stick to your five bullet outline as much as possible.

I know that this seems counterintuitive, but hear me out! For some students, it may actually be even better to write an essay without thinking about the 250 word count at all.

If you choose to go this route, you will have to spend some time cutting down on your word count. However, sometimes it does make sense to overwrite and then edit out the fluff that is not necessary.

Proofread (and proofread again!)

Even though a 250 word essay is short, it is still an essay that requires an editing and proofreading process. Generally, writers are their own worst proofreaders. So once you finish your essay, ask someone else to read it to ensure another set of eyes glances over everything.

Don’t forget to check on the word count as you proofread and edit your essay! Good luck, writers!

Key Takeaways

  • There’s not a lot of extra room in a 250 word essay, which means you will need to be direct and on topic
  • Try writing your first draft without a word count in mind and then go back and edit it down later
  • Remember to ask others to proofread for you, as it can be hard to see your own mistakes

Introduction

All of us share our day to day life experience through a medium; it can be thought our expression, our gesture, our way of speaking, etc. all these are different ways of communication. I can simply state communication as a medium for sharing our thoughts from one person to another.

There are different types of people in this world and some of them are good at writing whereas some of them are good at speaking. Those who can speak well like to express their thoughts verbally; whereas those who are good at writing like to share their thoughts in a written way. Normally people prefer talking in their day-to-day life.

Why Communication is Important?

We cannot live alone without any help, somewhere in life we need certain things and we need a medium to express and it is the way of communication. Communication is a process to let others know our thoughts. Suppose if speaking would only be the medium to communicate then how the dumb person would communicate. It means it includes speaking, reading, writing, etc.

Any medium like messaging, audio, video, etc. are different means of communication. All of them are important and helps us in different ways. It is useful in many ways, we gain knowledge, we get entertained, our education, etc. all are possible just because of communication.

I can say that we cannot imagine life without communication. It is helpful in various ways and day by day new discoveries like the internet, mobile phone, etc. have made it more convenient. Today we can know what’s going on around the world just on a single click.

Essay 2 (400 Words) – Communication: A Way of Self-Expression

Expressing ourselves is an art and some of us like to use their verbal power whereas some like to express themselves non-verbally. A small child doesn’t know how to ask for food or other needs, he simply cries but his parents always understand and fulfill his needs. How was it possible for a child to communicate when he does not even know any language? Actually, communication is a way of expressing ourselves.

How can we Communicate

There are different mediums of communication and one of the most important ones is verbal, by speaking. Most of us fulfill our needs by talking or telling. The medium through which one can easily understand your thoughts is one of your best mediums of communication. I have discussed different ways of communication below;

  • Our Gesture: Our gesture speaks a lot about us and we don’t have to explain either we need a certain thing or not. So, the gesture is also one of the common ways to express yourself.
  • Facial Expression: Have you ever seen your face when you taste a lemon? Actually, you don’t have to say anything; your expression speaks a lot about you. Our expression can easily tell what we are thinking and is another best way of communication.
  • Using Symbols: All of us use different chatting apps where we text others, we use certain signs and emojis which tells the reader what we want to say. It is quite popular these days and all of us use it.
  • Sign language: God has not gifted all of us with speaking and listening abilities. There are some who can’t speak so, for them there is a special language developed called sign language. It is a different language in which people speak with the help of different signs.
  • Videos: We watch different movies, TV shows, etc. and get entertained and this is another medium of communication. The video maker delivers his thoughts or a message through his video and we understand that.
  • Music: Music is something the language of our heart; sometimes we feel that as if the lyrics have been written for us because we understand it and really enjoy it. It is so powerful medium of communication that sometimes we feel sad and also happy according to the lyrics.
  • Writing: Many of us are very good at writing and you would have read many poets, they write so nicely that it touches our hearts. Sometimes when we read a novel we feel as if the author is talking to us, things seem so lively. It is an art and another way of communication

Communication helps the world to know one another. There are different mediums of communication and it depends on us, which medium we choose. All over I can say that we should be experts in at least on the ways of communication because it will help us in many ways in personal development.

Essay 3 (500 – 600 Words) – What is Communication, Its Types and Importance

All of us need a medium to express our thoughts as well as our needs and this medium has been termed as communication. We talk, take pictures, share our thoughts and all these things are different modes of communication. Really communication is a very important medium.

What is Communication?

The word communication has been derived from a Latin word and its real meaning was ‘to share’. A process through which we share our thoughts, ideas, etc is termed as communication. Some basic skills of communication are listening, writing, and speaking. All of these together justify the term communication.

Different Mediums of Communication

There are different mediums of communication but some of them are the main like Verbal, Non-verbal.

  • Verbal Communication: Where you will conversate verbally, you need a language to communicate. It can be done orally or in a written way like through personal talks, addressing a group of people, messaging, etc.
  • Non-Verbal Communication: A communication where you don’t need to speak or utter a word some of its examples are: Communicating through expressions, with simple eye contact, body language, touch, gesture, etc. are some of the most common mediums of non-verbal communication.

Importance of Communication

The way we need food to live similarly communication is also an integral part of life. We can’t expect a life without talking to anyone or in other words, we cannot expect life in which we cannot share things.

  • Transfers Knowledge: It helps us to learn new things whenever someone invents something new, they inform others and the world gets familiar with the new thing. How this got possible? Through communication, they informed everyone and we also learned about the new thing. Not only this, but students also go to school, where teachers explain them and give them knowledge just with the help of communication. So, I can say that communication helps us to gain knowledge.
  • Helps us to Coordinate: It is not possible to work with others without communicating. It helps us to coordinate; otherwise, the same team members will do the task in different ways. Communication is very important for coordination. A team needs a guild line and it is possible through coordination.
  • Boosts your Relationship: Communication is one of the best ways to strengthen your bond with your loved ones, either it is your mother, teacher, beloved, etc. An effective way of talking can really make our bonds strong and those relations survive for a long time.
  • Develops Confidence: A person with good communication skills is also confident, it helps people to express their views clearly. Reading increases knowledge and also affects our speaking skills. Generally, leaders have a very good speaking ability and it also increases their confidence.
  • Entertains Us: What you generally do when you are bored? You prefer watching TV or listen to music. Sometimes we also go to watch a movie. All of these are different forms of entertainment. This shows that communication is also necessary for entertainment. Apart from this nowadays we like watching comedy shows and they are the best example of people with good communication skills.

All of us communicate and we enjoy this process, either we have to read or talk to our dear ones. We learn a lot through this medium and it also entertains us. It is a word with lots of meaning. Those who can’t talk can also communicate throw their facial expression or in a written way.

Globalization has made the world a smaller place. With the help of the internet and technology, we can now communicate with anyone, anywhere, at any time. This has made sharing ideas and information easier and quicker than ever before.

Language and Communication

Globalization has also affected language use. English has emerged as a global language, making communication between different cultures more efficient. It has also led to the mixing of languages, creating new forms of communication.

Cultural Exchange

Globalization has led to a greater exchange of cultures. This cultural exchange has influenced the way we communicate, introducing new words, phrases, and styles of communication from different cultures into our own.

Despite the benefits, globalization also brings challenges. The rapid pace of communication can lead to misinformation spreading quickly. Additionally, the dominance of English can undermine other languages and cultures.

In conclusion, globalization has significantly impacted communication. It has brought us closer, influenced language use, and facilitated cultural exchange. But it also presents challenges that need to be addressed.

250 Words Essay on Impact Of Globalization On Communication

Globalization is the system of interaction among the countries of the world to develop the global economy. This has a big impact on how people communicate.

Global Communication

Globalization has made communication easier and faster. Before, it was hard to talk to someone far away. Now, with the internet and mobile phones, we can talk to anyone, anywhere, anytime. This is because of globalization.

Language and Culture

In conclusion, globalization has changed the way we communicate. It has made it easier and faster, but also brought challenges. We need to work on these challenges to make the most of global communication.

500 Words Essay on Impact Of Globalization On Communication

The meaning of globalization and communication.

Globalization is the process of making something worldwide in scope or application. It means that people, ideas, and goods move more easily and quickly across the world. Communication, on the other hand, is the way we share or exchange information. So, when we talk about the impact of globalization on communication, we’re talking about how globalization changes the way we share and receive information.

Before globalization, communication was limited. People could only talk face-to-face or send letters that took weeks to arrive. But, with globalization, we now have the internet, mobile phones, and social media. These tools make it easy for us to talk to someone on the other side of the world in real-time.

Breaking Down Barriers

Globalization breaks down communication barriers. Before, language differences made it hard for people from different countries to talk. But now, we have translation tools that can translate languages in real-time. This means we can talk to people from different parts of the world without knowing their language.

Sharing of Cultures

Globalization also impacts the way cultures share information. Through the internet, we can learn about different cultures without leaving our homes. We can watch videos, read articles, and even talk to people from different cultures. This helps us understand and appreciate different cultures better.

Increased Business Opportunities

Globalization has also made it easier for businesses to communicate with customers and other businesses from different parts of the world. Through emails, video calls, and social media, businesses can reach more people and expand their market.

The Downsides

Despite the many benefits, globalization also has its downsides. The ease of communication can lead to information overload. We’re constantly bombarded with news, messages, and updates. This can be overwhelming and can make it hard for us to focus.

Additionally, while globalization allows us to learn about different cultures, it can also lead to cultural homogenization. This is when cultures become more similar to each other because of the influence of dominant cultures.

In conclusion, globalization has a big impact on communication. It has made communication easier, faster, and more accessible. It has broken down barriers, allowed us to learn about different cultures, and increased business opportunities. But, it also has its downsides like information overload and cultural homogenization. As we continue to live in a globalized world, it’s important for us to learn how to navigate these changes in communication.

Interpersonal Communication Essay – Its Importance and Necessary Skills

In this interpersonal communication essay, you will learn about topics such as communication in daily reality, humans as social animals, and how relationships can lead to violence. Communication in a human being starts before birth and takes place throughout one’s life. It is important to note that communication does not necessarily need to be verbal but can also include signs and other ways through which messages can be sent and received conveniently.

In this regard, human communication entails making sense in the world and sharing the information through both verbal and non-verbal communication. Arguably, interpersonal communication is a very vital skill that people must use in daily life including in career development and achieving their goals. As a matter of fact, interpersonal communication involves sending and receiving messages with both negative and positive results and is affected by different factors.

Interpersonal communication is very crucial in developing relationships in society because relationships are all about how people communicate with one another. Words that are used in communication need to be understood for any meaningful effect to take place. It is important to note that interpersonal communication is helpful in enhancing the understanding of the words that people use within conversations thus avoiding misunderstanding and misjudgments.

However, it is interpersonal perception present in every person that shapes interpersonal communication. Research shows that interpersonal perception often leads to the formation of prejudices on what people are like. As a result, different meanings are given to people’s action while at the same time impressions about people’s personalities are formed.

People who are aware and skilled in communication stand a better chance when it comes to understanding and perceiving others with objectivity. Skills of communication enable one to avoid forming impressions about people with certain characteristics which might lead to subjectivity in judgment. Consequently, these people usually have fair inferences about people’s motives, personalities, and other human qualities. Therefore, the study of interpersonal communication enhances the skills of people regarding how they conduct their relationships.

It is important to note that communication is highly volatile and is influenced by several different factors including culture, gender, and ethnicity. Culture has been defined as a collection of values, traits, norms, and attitudes that define the expected code of conduct in a community. Culture is not universal and varies from one community to another.

It is quite normal for people to evaluate others according to life experiences they have with the person’s cultural group. Consequently, culture highly influences how we process and interpret information depending on the cultural background of our communication partner. Moreover, culture and sometimes gender determines the meaning that is given to different words.

On the same note, friendship also affects interpersonal communication. Defined as a type of relationship where one has a choice on whether and when to quit, friendship provides support to people both emotionally and psychologically. It is important to note that friendship changes as one develops through childhood to maturity. As friendship changes, the way people send and receive messages with one another also change. Friends sometimes use words differently from their conventional use. Consequently, interpersonal communication between friends has sometimes coded thus interpretations as well as inferences are different.

Family relationship is also another aspect that highly affects interpersonal communication. Family is the basic unit in a society where people get their first orientation on how people should conduct themselves in society. It is the family that orients people to conversations and conformity. The family has been categorized into four categories: protective, consensual, pluralistic and laissez-faire. The different types of families educate people differently on how to listen to others, conflict management as well as matters regarding relationships. Therefore, interpersonal communication highly differs along with the various types of family.

Communication is not only about speaking or rather sending the message only, but also includes that act of receiving and acting on the message. Therefore, listening is very crucial in the interpersonal communication process. Firstly, listening takes the largest portion of any communication, when people are either processing the information being received or just giving others time to pass their message. It has been noted that listening style of people defines their preferred way of making sense of unspoken words.

Therefore, listening styles give a hint on how people are likely to react to the message being passed. In order to have a successful communication mission, it is important for one to understand the listening style of his or her communication partner. Notably, there are four distinct listening styles that are mostly used by people. These are people-oriented, time-oriented, action-oriented and content-oriented. Wrong decision on the type of listening used by one’s communication partner usually leads to a breakdown in communication.

Having stated how important interpersonal communication is and outlined some of the factors that affect it, it is important to note that communication has negative effects too. Words are known to affect emotions and even inflict pain depending on how they are used and the context in which they are used. It is not peculiar for people to use one lie or another in their conversations.

Deception can take two forms that are; omission where some information is left out either intentionally or by mistake and commission where false information is passed to receivers. Instead of helping in developing relationships, deception destroys relationships by eliminating the trust that is critical in every relationship.

On the same note, communication also hurts especially when negative comments are given. People get depressed when others comment negatively about their physical appearance, personality or their ability in different areas. In this regard, communication fails to perform its expected functions of enhancing relationships. These kinds of comments have been known to mete out pain on people. Consequently, people become apprehensive of those who like commenting negatively resulting in stereotyping. The result is misinterpretation and sometimes misconceptions when communicating or decoding others’ verbal and non-verbal messages.

On the other hand, Interpersonal relationship can also be bad. The negative outcomes of interpersonal relationship include jealousy where one person is uncomfortable when the other relationships with different people. In addition, interpersonal relationships have also been known to lead to obsessive relation intrusion. The behavior makes people excessively concerned with other people’s affairs to the extent that they intrude into their private lives. Relationship violence also results when interpersonal relationships fail to work on society’s expectation.

The violence varies from just minor emotional stresses to physical violence leading to serious injuries. Marriages are good examples of how interpersonal relationships can lead to violence. It should be noted that relationships fail because of faults, unwilling to compromise and the feeling of being constrained. However, the failure of interpersonal communication plays a very crucial role in determining the cohesiveness of relationships. Therefore, failure in interpersonal communication often leads to failure of interpersonal relationships.
