The students can download the assignment papers by following these steps: 

Step 1: Visit the official website of the university at ignou.ac.in.

Step 2: Click on the ‘Student Support’ option, then click on ‘Student Zone’.

Step 3: Click on the option ‘Assignments’ and you will be redirected to the question papers.

Is it Compulsory to Submit IGNOU Assignment 2024?  

Assignments carry a total number of 30% marks in the overall percentage of a candidate, thus, it is compulsory for every student to submit the assignments within the stipulated time. It will increase one’s performance report on the grade card. Without assignments, the course is incomplete and one must necessarily submit it. The students must score at least 40% marks to pass and thereafter for filling the exam form to appear in the Term End Examination (TEE). 

Guidelines for Writing IGNOU Assignment 2024

Assignments constitute the continuous evaluation component of a course. They can be done in your home or workplace or library or any other place you think has the right environment. 

• It is important to write the answers in your own words. The university follows a strict “No Plagiarism” policy and it will not accept the assignments if plagiarised. 
• The study material provided to you is the best source to refer for writing answers. 
• The answers should be precise, well documented and relevant to the question. A reasonably adequate response can be presented within the required word limit.
• Whenever you receive a set of assignments, check them immediately. If there are some missing or blank pages, contact your concerned Regional Director.
• For your own record, retain a copy of all the answers to the assignments you submitted to the Coordinator of your Study Centre. It will help you in the future to prepare for Term End Examinations.

Students can follow the steps given below to submit their IGNOU Assignment using Google Forms:

• Visit the official website of IGNOU @ignou.ac.in.
• Click on “Regional Network” on the menu bar and then click on “Regional Centers” from the drop-down menu.
• Now Click on the “Regional Center’s Websites” and navigate to your respective regional center of IGNOU.
• Now visit the official website of your selected regional center’s website and click on “News and Event” on the homepage of the RC’s official website
• Now click on “Assignment Guidelines” or “Assignment Submission” where you’ll get the Google form link.
• By clicking on the Google form link, a new Google form for assignment submission will be open in a new tab.
• Now fill in all the important details such as name, enrolment number, subject code, and others.
• Upload all the scanned copies of assignment in the PDF format (make sure the file size does not exceed 100 MB) and submit the form.

IGNOU Assignment Submission through Email:

IGNOU has started accepting assignments via email. This facility might not be available for all study centers of your respective regional centers. If the Google Form submission is not available or the quota is full, students can submit their assignments by sending an email to their respective regional centers. The step-by-step process to submit IGNOU assignments via email is as follows:

• Find the official email address of your respective regional center through the official website of IGNOU under the “Regional Network” on the homepage.
• Mention all the important details of the IGNOU Assignment Front Page such as enrolment number, program name, subject code, study center code/name, session, contact details, etc.
• Attach all the scanned copies of your assignment in PDF format and send an email to your respective regional center.

After submitting the assignment via email, students will receive an acknowledgment email which might take a few hours. If you have still not received the email, check whether your study center is accepting through email or there’s a Google form link to submit the assignment. Students must note that many IGNOU Regional Centers are not sending acknowledgment emails so you don’t need to worry about it and keep checking the assignment submission status. ​

IGNOU Assignment Submission Through Offline Mode:

Students are required to visit their respective Study or Regional Centers to submit the assignments for their respective courses. It is necessary to submit the assignments before filling the Term End Examination form. Go through the following points to know more about the submission process for assignments: 

• Write your Enrollment Number, Name, Full Address, Signature, and Date on the top of the first page of your response sheet. It must look like this - 

• Read the assignments carefully and follow the instructions, if any, given along with the questions.
• Go through the units on which the assignments are based. Note the important points related to the questions and rearrange them in a logical order and write a rough outline for your answer. 
• Use A4 size paper for writing your responses and tie all the pages carefully. Allow a margin on the left side and a few lines in between each answer. This will help the evaluator to write comments on the margin. 
• Do not print or type the answers and write the responses to assignments in your own handwriting.
• You must answer each question separately on a separate set of papers. Write the question number carefully before answering.
• The completed assignment must be submitted at the address communicated to you by the Regional Center or your program coordinator. 
• After submitting the assignment, get the duly signed acknowledgment slip from the Coordinator.

IGNOU Marksheet Dispatch Status 2024  – IGNOU Provisional Marksheet and Provisional Certificate are the two documents that are sent by the university after the completion of each semester or annual examination. The students who appeared in any of the term end examinations conducted by the university will receive their provisional marksheet along with the provisional certificate after the declaration of the IGNOU Result online. If you’re facing issues with the IGNOU assignment marks December / June not being updated, there could be several reasons behind it. Here are some common issues and solutions:

Top 5 reasons IGNOU assignment status not updated?

What happens when you try to check results and find the marks are not showing? You contact the study centre, right?

Most of the time, the study centre gives false promises “we will update your IGNOU assignment submission status list within a month” but they don’t do. And they don’t provide the exact date.

The problem you are facing in 2024 I have already faced this. When I was doing a BA course, they did not update my assignment marks in the final year.

Do you know why this happens every year? 

From my personal experience, I have created a list of difficulties that students face every year. 

Now comes to the main question:

Let’s check why the IGNOU assignment status 2023 December session or older is not showing on the grade card portal.

Incorrect details

Ensure you have provided the correct enrolment number and subject code on the front page. Else they will not update your IGNOU assignment result.

Study centre permanently closed

Most of the time, we find that the study center is not working anymore, so the regional office allotted a new college, but you submitted your assignment to the old study centre, so the process takes some time.

Delay in evaluation

University assigns tutors to evaluate IGNOU assignment marks. Because of the large number of students, it may take some time for your tutor to evaluate your paper and update your status.

I know it’s not your fault. It’s the study centers that always work slowly. Either they didn’t check your paper, or they didn’t send marks to the regional office.

Evaluations of Assignments are being taken care of by the Study Centre through their Counsellors. Further, it is updated through multiple channels and it involves several Sections/Divisions of the University for updating scores in the Grade Card.

Tricks to update IGNOU assignment marks in 2024 easily.

1- Communication with Study Center :

Reach out to your study center first to inquire about the delay. Show them your assignment submission slip as proof and ask for an update..

2- Lodge a complaint on iGRAM:

If IGNOU assignment marks status is still not updated after contacting the study centre, you can lodge a complaint on the iGRAM portal by the following method.

• Open the https://igram.ignou.ac.in/
• In the grievance category select “Assignment” 
• In the Subject field select “updation of marks”
• Click on next
• Fill your basic details
• In the Query option write your complaint and mention your subjects.
• Upload your acknowledgement/submission slip 
• Click on submit.

3- Apply for RTI 

After following the above method, if not working here, is the final step.

I know you must be thinking about what to do if IGNOU assignment marks are not updated within a month.

IGNOU Grade Card: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGN OU) releases the grade card after the completion of the Examination process. It includes the student’s full name, unique ID number, assignment scores, theory exam marks, practical exam scores, obtained oral marks, and many more. Students can check whether they have passed, or failed, or their status of result is incomplete. To download the grade card students have to visit the result portal of IGNOU at ignou.ac.in .

Made the Biggest Mistake by joining Ignou. Exam checking is pathetic

I was an idiot for not joining regular college and going for Ignou out of all.

Searched online while joining & it said it has decent reputation & degree is as valuable as others. It’s all bs. Their exam checking is worse than pathetic.

I gave my exams in June this year & I was so confident that the exams went great. Each and every answer was written in a comprehensive manner (Introduction - Body(s) - Conclusion) with good grammar & knowledge.

Today, I got the result of 1 subject, out of 10, & I was so so shocked that they gave 42 marks?? How is it even possible? I literally almost cried because I already regret joining here & now I’m getting this. 9 exams are still remaining, god knows what those morons are going to check.

Here’s what I’ve understood. The examiners are paid Rs/copy. They check as many copies as they can in an hour to get maximum money while throwing away the future of the student in dustbin. Then, if you appeal, there’s no one to listen you. Non-existent support.

Only option is to apply for re-evaluation that costs 1000rs per subject. If they marked like shi* in all the 9 papers, I’ve no other option but to get them rechecked for 10,000rs.

Now that they get the money, they increase the marks by 30-40-50! All the answers magically got corrected now that you’ve the money in pocket? What a scam they’re running.

I’m so fed up. Admitting here was the worst decision & I don’t know what to do anymore.
