New Student Housing Assignment Process Overview

Welcome first-year & transfer students, new student housing assignment process.

Residential Services is excited to welcome you to the first step in choosing your campus residence for the next academic year. To acquaint yourself with the process, we prepared two helpful brochures:

  • Living on Campus: The Fundamentals of the Residential Experience
  • 2024-2025 Housing Map (PDF)

Residential Services will assign you a building and room based on the preferences you share in the housing contract.  While every effort will be made to fulfill your preferences, assignments to specific buildings, rooms, or roommates cannot be guaranteed. Last year, over a third of all new students were assigned to their top building preference and approximately 77% received an assignment within their top five building choices. A small percentage of students were assigned to a building outside of their preferences.

  • Flow chart of the housing contracting process for new students
  • Video tutorial on how to complete your online housing application and preferences

Residency Requirement

Housing options, all gender housing, roommate selection.

You have two options for completing the roommate section of the housing contract:

  • If you already have a roommate in mind,   you will need their name and NetID. You will select roommates in your group for your room assignment. You will use this to request roommates or respond to a pending roommate request. Roommate groups work like a 'friend request'; preferred roommate(s) must accept the request. Invitations/updates will be sent to everyone listed after you make changes and submit this form. Please note, you may only be in one group at a time. After you submit your contract, you can always make changes to your roommate groups via the “update preferences” option.
  • If you do not have a specific roommate in mind,   Residential Services will randomly match you with a roommate based on the building and roommate preference information you provide on the housing contract.

Housing Room Rates

Please visit our  Room Rates page  to view the current academic year's rates. This page will be updated when rates for the next academic year are released.

Housing Cancellation

First- and second-year students may not cancel their housing contract due to the   two-year residency requirement . Rising third- and fourth-year students may cancel their contract but should take note of the   cancellation fee schedule . Students will only be released from housing for the following reasons:

  • (a) academic dismissal
  • (b) disciplinary exclusion from the University
  • (c) marriage (a copy of the marriage certificate must be filed)
  • (d) induction into military service
  • (e) graduation,
  • or (f) health, upon written recommendation of the University Health Service.

ONSA: CSE Room Assignment [March 2023]

Are you searching for the ONSA containing the March 2023 CSE Room Assignment? Look no further – we have you covered.

Read on and find out your ONSA and check other essential information related to the conduct of the 2023 Civil Service Exam.

How To Know Your CSE Room Assignment

There are various ways to find out your Online Notice of School Assignment, from visiting the CSC website and accessing the ONSA portal to calling or e-mailing the Field Office where you submitted your application.

In this article, we will guide you on how you can check your CSE room assignment through the ONSA.

What Is ONSA In CSC?

ONSA stands for Online Notice of School Assignment. Its purpose is to help you determine the place you’ve been assigned to take the Civil Service Exam.

The ONSA has become available to the public on July 24, 2017, and it usually becomes accessible 2 weeks before the set examination date.

The CSC also warns the examinees to be wary of websites that carry the ONSA. To be safe, make sure that you are inputting your details only on CSC’s official website .

If you want to know the 2023 CSC room assignment, make sure to check the CSC website for updates.

How Do I Know My CSC Room Assignment?

Room assignments are typically released 2 weeks before the exam and could be accessible via ONSA. However, the NCR CSC room assignment usually takes longer to be released.

To help you figure out your Online Notice of School Assignment, we’ve prepared a step-by-step guide for you.

How To Know The Room Assignment In CSC

Step 1: Access the ONSA page and fill out the form, as needed.

room assignment 2023 social work

Some of the details you have to input include:

  • Extension name, if any (Jr., Sr., III, etc.)
  • Middle Initial
  • Date of birth (month/date/year)
  • Date of examination (in this case, March 26, 2023)
  • Type of examination (Professional or Subprofessional)
  • CSC Office (NCR, Region 4, etc.)

Step 2: After filling out the necessary fields, click on submit, and your room assignment will be displayed on the page.

What If My Name Isn’t On ONSA?

If you encountered an error page after inputting your details, don’t panic just yet. There are a couple of reasons why this may happen.

room assignment 2023 social work

You might have inputted your middle name instead of just your middle initial. If not, you probably placed a period after your middle initial, and if this is the case, remove it and resubmit your details.

If this still does not work, then you can contact the CSC Regional Office where you filed your application and ask for the details of your school and room assignment.

What Is The Schedule For The CSC Exam 2023?

The first batch of the Civil Service Exam will take place on March 26, 2023, with the application period running from December 22, 2022, to January 25, 2023.

Meanwhile, the second batch of the Civil Service Exam will take place on August 13, 2023, with the application period running from May 15, 2023, to June 14, 2023.

How To Book An Appointment For CSC Exam 2023?

The examinee must file their application personally at the respective CSC Regional Office, or at the CSC RO Field Offices where they plan to take the examination.

You can check the complete list, addresses, and contact numbers of CSC Regional Offices and Field Offices at the official CSC website .

What Is CSC’s Hotline Number?

The CSC Trunklines, as gathered from the Civil Service Commission’s website are 8931-8092, 8931-7939, and 8931-7935.

If you have other concerns regarding the examination, you can send a message to the Civil Service e-mail address at [email protected] .

The Unique Burial of a Child of Early Scythian Time at the Cemetery of Saryg-Bulun (Tuva)

<< Previous page

Pages:  379-406

In 1988, the Tuvan Archaeological Expedition (led by M. E. Kilunovskaya and V. A. Semenov) discovered a unique burial of the early Iron Age at Saryg-Bulun in Central Tuva. There are two burial mounds of the Aldy-Bel culture dated by 7th century BC. Within the barrows, which adjoined one another, forming a figure-of-eight, there were discovered 7 burials, from which a representative collection of artifacts was recovered. Burial 5 was the most unique, it was found in a coffin made of a larch trunk, with a tightly closed lid. Due to the preservative properties of larch and lack of air access, the coffin contained a well-preserved mummy of a child with an accompanying set of grave goods. The interred individual retained the skin on his face and had a leather headdress painted with red pigment and a coat, sewn from jerboa fur. The coat was belted with a leather belt with bronze ornaments and buckles. Besides that, a leather quiver with arrows with the shafts decorated with painted ornaments, fully preserved battle pick and a bow were buried in the coffin. Unexpectedly, the full-genomic analysis, showed that the individual was female. This fact opens a new aspect in the study of the social history of the Scythian society and perhaps brings us back to the myth of the Amazons, discussed by Herodotus. Of course, this discovery is unique in its preservation for the Scythian culture of Tuva and requires careful study and conservation.

Keywords: Tuva, Early Iron Age, early Scythian period, Aldy-Bel culture, barrow, burial in the coffin, mummy, full genome sequencing, aDNA
