A Case Study on Defective Cellular Organelles

This case study introduces students to the structure and function of cellular organelles and seeks to show their importance by discussing diseases and disorders that can result when an organelle does not function as it should. The storyline follows a family whose joy at bringing home a new baby is soon altered by their child's sudden illness, which is eventually diagnosed as Leigh Disease. This disease occurs when defective mitochondria fail to produce energy needed by the cell, particularly affecting cells with high-energy needs like those in the brain, muscle, and gastrointestinal tract. The narrative also discusses some of the ways in which Leigh disease is inherited, treatment options, and the typical prognosis. The case was designed for an introductory non-majors biology course, but could also be used in other science or health related courses. Instructors also have the option of running the case in a "flipped classroom" in which students watch three recommended videos outside of class as a way of preparing for working on the case in class.

Since marketing theory of 4 Ps has been developed based on the studies on large enterprises, so it cannot be applied to SMEs directly, where marketing practices may differ considerably from those of larger enterprises. Mục tiêu: Nghiên cứu nhằm đánh giá thực trạng rối loạn giọng nói (RLGN) và hiệu quả can thiệp cải thiện RLGN ở 476 nữ giáo viên tiểu học (GVTH) huyện Gia Lâm, TP. Hà Nội. Phương pháp nghiên cứu: Nghiên cứu can thiệp không đối chứng. Kết quả: 87,82% GVTH ở huyện Gia Lâm có tỷ lệ RLGN cao, trong đó RLGN chức năng chiếm 78,71%, các RLGN thực thể chiếm 21,29%. Nghiên cứu can thiệp vệ sinh giọng nói, luyện giọng và điều trị bệnh lý tai mũi họng (TMH) và bệnh trào ngược họng thanh quản (LPR) có hiệu quả tốt đối với RLGN, làm giảm tỷ lệ mắc và mức độ của RLGN. Can thiệp cũng làm cải thiện các triệu chứng của các bệnh lý kèm theo, cụ thể với LPR trước can thiệp có 46,3%, ở lần khám thứ 2 còn 13,4%. Bệnh lý TMH kèm theo trước can thiệp là 28,7% giáo viên, ở lần khám thứ 2 còn 7.9 %, p<0,05. Kết luận: Tỷ lệ RLGN ở nữ GVTH chiếm tỷ lệ cao, can thiệp bằng luyện giọng và điều trị nội khoa đem lại hiệu quả cao đối với RLGN ở các GVTH.

Getting a big advantage is the main goal in every business. To that end, the company will be required to produce products with the use of maximum resources to provide optimal benefits. Companies must also consider any changes that occur, either from profits or resources optimally so as not to affect corporate profits. This study aims to know the size of optimal benefits for the utilization of resources for the production tofu that can be obtained by SMEs Harapan Nunggal simplex method, and knowing that changes can still be tolerated without altering the optimal gains obtained. With the assumption of tofu as a product is inelastic, because the price changes that occur will not affect to demand of tofu. The results of this study and based on the calculation of the simplex method, optimal benefit is obtained when SMEs Harapan Nunggal produce small tofu as much as 14.595 pieces. Lòng trung thành với thương hiệu của khách hàng đóng vai trò quan trọng cho sự thành công của doanh nghiệp. Dựa trên lý thuyết xây dựng thương hiệu, nhóm tác giả phân tích tác động của trải nghiệm thương hiệu, sự hài lòng và niềm tin thương hiệu cùng tình yêu thương hiệu đến trung thành thương hiệu. Mô hình phương trình cấu trúc được sử dụng để kiểm tra các giả thuyết nghiên cứu bằng việc phân tích dữ liệu của 250 người có sử dụng mỹ phẩm tại thị trường Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh. Kết quả nghiên cứu đã chứng minh tầm quan trọng của trải nghiệm thương hiệu cùng sự hài lòng và niềm tin thương hiệu trong việc xây dựng tình yêu thương hiệu và lòng trung thành với thương hiệu. Ở góc độ thực tiễn, doanh nghiệp cần tăng cường cơ hội trải nghiệm của khách hàng, cụ thể là việc cho phép khách hàng có cơ hội sử dụng thử sản phẩm của doanh nghiệp. Ngoài ra, cần xây dựng cộng đồng người sử dụng sản phẩm để họ có thể chia sẻ cảm nhận cá nhân về sản phẩm của doanh nghiệp.

Pengembangan model layanan evaluasi berbasis context input process product (CIPP) merupakan salah satu bentuk solusi dari permasalahan guru BK dalam melaksanakan evaluasi terkait dengan layanan informasi yang telah dilakukan. Pengembangan model CIPP ini muncul karena kurang pahamnya guru BK dalam melakukan evaluasi sehingga menyebabkan kesulitan untuk mengetahui keberhasilan pelaksanaan layanan informasi di sekolah, lemahnya akuntabilitas dan kesulitan untuk melakukan perbaikan serta pengembangan. Melalui model context input process product (CIPP) ini, evaluasi layanan informasi dapat dilakukan secara komprehensif.

Preparing soft skills for students has been being a matter of great concern to both society and the education industry. Soft skills are an essential factor for the success and happiness of each individual. Many decades ago, the weakness of soft skills of Vietnamese students have been warned by educational organizations, businesses and domestic and foreign experts. Although knowledge that is considered as a necessary condition during the learning process; it is still not a sufficient condition for students who want to get a desired job. Nowadays, soft skills training activities are quite popular in almost universities and it is one of requirements for student’s graduation. However, these training activities are different in each university. In this study, from the practical experience in training soft skills of other universities, the authors recommend some basic solutions for integrating soft skills into main subjects in the specialized knowledge teaching process.
