My House Essay 250 Words

A home serves as a sanctuary from the daily grind, providing solace and security. I reside in a charming abode nestled within a bustling urban neighborhood. This location boasts convenient proximity to a bus stop, educational institutions, shops, and more. My home is my haven, a place where I feel at ease and self-assured, and one where I yearn to spend most of my time.

Inside, there are three spacious bedrooms, a welcoming dining area, a well-equipped kitchen, and well-maintained bathrooms. In the front yard, we’ve cultivated a delightful garden with colorful flowers, while the backyard is dedicated to growing our own vegetables. Abundant natural light permeates the house, enhancing its inviting ambiance.

Constructed from a combination of sturdy materials like bricks, wood, tiles, and marble, my home exudes a timeless charm. The marble flooring lends an air of elegance throughout. The bedrooms are generously proportioned, well-ventilated, and flooded with natural light. Our bathrooms are commodious and feature modern showers, while our dining area is tastefully adorned.

The open kitchen allows us to savor the view of our backyard while preparing meals. Notably, our windows, constructed from rich brown wood, are broad and open wide during sunny days. The window in our dining room particularly captivates me, as it overlooks a street lined with majestic, ancient oak trees.

Our neighborhood is graced with friendly and considerate neighbors who readily extend their kindness and support. While my house is undeniably beautiful, it is the presence of my family that truly infuses it with warmth and charm. I hold a deep affection for my cherished home.

My House Essay 300 Words

A home holds a special place in our hearts, for it’s where we truly live and thrive. It’s a fundamental need for all of us, and we design our homes to suit our unique needs, using materials like wood, cement, iron, mortar, and bricks.

Speaking of my home, I consider myself truly blessed to reside in the serene Adarsh colony of Gorakhpur. Ours is a modest abode, as we belong to a middle-class family. But within these walls, our family thrives, comprising my dear father, caring mother, my three beloved sisters, and our ever-smiling grandmother.

Inside, our home offers us two bedrooms, a spacious veranda, a well-equipped kitchen, a cozy living room, a convenient bathroom, and a charming little garden outside, which also doubles as a garage. My father takes it upon himself to ensure our home gets a fresh coat of paint and regular maintenance every year. Right in front of our house, there’s an empty plot adorned with various trees and plants, enhancing the beauty of our surroundings.

The three of us sisters share one room, painted in our favorite shade of blue, a space we utilize for our studies. We take pride in keeping our room spotlessly clean. My mother, a stickler for cleanliness, extends her touch of orderliness to the entirety of our home, both inside and out.

Though we might be a small family, our home radiates with happiness. It’s a haven that envelops me in a feeling of security and comfort, a place where my fondest childhood memories were crafted. During festivals and special occasions, our home undergoes a magical transformation as we adorn it with decorations, making it even more enchanting.

In Conclusion

My home is my sanctuary, the ultimate place for relaxation and contentment. The very mention of it fills my heart with warmth and affection. It’s a dwelling brimming with positivity and blessings, all thanks to the loving souls that make up my wonderful family, who transform it into a beautiful abode.

My House Essay 500 Words

A home is a special place that provides comfort to all who reside in it. This is because a home is brimming with love and vitality. Just like anyone fortunate, I too have a home and a caring family. In this essay about my home, I will describe its characteristics and share its significance in my life.

A Peaceful Place I Call Home

Nestled within the heart of the city lies my beloved home. It’s not overly spacious, nor is it too petite; rather, it’s just the right size for my family and me. Our household consists of my father, mother, sister, and grandparents. What makes our dwelling particularly special is its vintage character, as it’s been passed down through generations.

Despite its age, our home stands resilient and strong. It boasts six rooms, each with a unique touch that reflects the individuality of its occupant. For instance, my elder sister, a passionate music enthusiast, has adorned her walls with posters featuring her favorite musicians, including BTS and RM.

The centerpiece of our home is the spacious living room, boasting lofty ceilings. Here, we still cherish the vintage sofa set that my grandmother received as a wedding gift. Adjoining it, you’ll find antique relics like an old television and radio, both of which my grandmother continues to use to this day.

My personal sanctuary lies just next door – my bedroom. It’s my most cherished space, housing all the things I hold dear. Notably, my pet guinea pig resides in a cozy cage here. Additionally, our storage room is a repository of items we no longer employ but can’t quite bring ourselves to part with.

Stepping outside, our front lawn boasts a charming garden. It’s here that my mother tends to her kitchen garden, a labor of love where she cultivates various seeds, introducing new varieties each month to enhance our culinary experiences.

Yet, the fondest memories I hold dear are tethered to our terrace. This spacious outdoor haven is adorned with an array of flourishing plants. It’s witnessed countless joyous family moments and serves as a playground when my cousins come to visit. As a result, every nook and cranny of my home carries a special place in my heart.

In the course of life, I’ve come to a profound realization – not everyone enjoys the same kind of home as I do. Some have considerably less, and sadly, some have no home at all. This awareness has deepened my sense of gratitude and appreciation for the place I fondly call home. I understand that not everyone is fortunate enough to have a good home and a loving family, and for this, I feel truly blessed. Appreciation Towards My Home The reason I hold my home in such high regard is that, as I journey through life, I know that I will look back on the cherished memories I’ve created here with warmth and nostalgia. The simple act of reminiscing about those moments will be all the more special due to the consistent sense of safety and security that my home has always provided. It genuinely is an ideal place to live.

In conclusion

My home occupies a unique and cherished place in my heart because it instills in me a profound sense of belonging, regardless of the circumstances. It aids me in comprehending my role in the world and my connection to the vast universe. For this reason, I am profoundly thankful to have a place that I can wholeheartedly call my own.

Household Rules Help Set Expectations for Kids

Establishing household rules can help everyone in the family with boundaries. We rounded up the best family rule examples to help you create your own.

Family Rules Examples

Tips for creating household rules.

If you're like most parents, you may struggle to list your household rules off the top of your head. Although you know what behavior is acceptable (and what isn't), labeling your specific expectations may be a little tricky. That's why it's important to create a written list of household or family rules.

With a list of family rules, everyone becomes clear about expected behavior, including what is allowed and what is not. Rules also help kids feel safe and secure. When your rules are clear, you'll be less likely to get into  power struggles . Your child's attempts to say, "But, I didn't know!" won't be effective when you remind them of the list of household rules.

A lengthy list of family rules could become too complicated and confusing, so aim to keep your list short and simple.

Treat people and property with respect

These rules may include:

  • Ask permission to borrow other people’s belongings.
  • Do not hurt anyone’s body (no hitting , pushing, or kicking).
  • Do not hurt anyone’s feelings (no yelling , put-downs, or name-calling).

Implement an immediate consequence if this rule gets broken. Time-out or loss of privileges can help kids learn to make better choices. This is a good rule for parents as well as kids as you need to model appropriate behavior and anger control.

Knock on closed doors before entering

Teach kids about privacy by establishing a rule about knocking on closed doors before entering. This can help reinforce the idea that you should respect other people's space.

Pick up after yourself

Explain what it means to pick up after yourself. Tell your child to put their dishes in the dishwasher when she's done eating. Or explain that you expect your children to pick up their toys before they get out new toys. This rule enhances household safety and cleanliness, plus develops good habits for when your children go on to live independently.

Electronics curfew

Many families establish rules about electronics . While some families limit screen time to a couple of hours per day, others set rules about what time electronics need to be turned off. Setting a curfew for electronics before bedtime can help develop good sleep hygiene for both children and parents which enables you to get a better night's sleep .

Make amends when you hurt someone

Teach kids to take responsibility for their behavior by creating a rule about how to respond if they’ve hurt someone. Sometimes an apology may be enough and at other times, you may need to institute  consequences .

Tell the truth

Stressing the importance of honesty will only be effective if you role model the behavior. If you tell your kids to always tell the truth, but claim your 13-year-old is only 12 so you can get a low cost movie ticket, your words won’t be effective. Kids can’t tell the difference between “white lies” and other lies so if you’re going to stress the importance of honesty, show that you're honest.

Practice good dental and body hygiene

Washing hands, brushing teeth, and bathing must be done for good health. Establish these as a rule so your children develop good habits .

Attend family meetings

Holding regularly scheduled family meetings can help you review the rules, talk about schedules, and make any changes as necessary. While some families may want to schedule a meeting once a week, other families may find that meeting once a month is plenty.

Family rules should include the rules that  everyone  in the house is expected to follow, including parents. So don't include, “Bedtime is at 7 p.m.,” unless you also plan to go to bed at that time. Your household rules should also be specific to your family's needs and values.

You may also find that you need to revise your list from time to time. Work together as a family to problem-solve specific issues. For example, if you’re noticing that several family members aren’t picking up after themselves , talk about it and see what you can do to better enforce this rule.

Decreases in self-reported sleep duration among U.S. adolescents 2009–2015 and association with new media screen time . Sleep Medicine . 2017.

Writing a ‘ my house essay ’ does not have to be troublesome. If you are a student trying to write an essay on this topic, then this article should be able to help you.

In this article, I have listed three references to an essay on my house. These three suggestions have different word limits (800, 600, 500, and 200 words.) you can choose your preferred reference based on your choice.

My House Essay: 700-800 Words

My House Essay_ 700-800 Words

Have you ever closed your eyes and pictured the perfect place? Maybe it’s a sandy beach with crashing waves, a bustling city full of lights, or a quiet forest teeming with life. For me, the perfect place isn’t somewhere far away; it’s right where I am – my house. It’s more than just bricks and mortar; it’s a place filled with memories, comfort, and the feeling of belonging.

My house isn’t the grandest or the fanciest. It might not win any architectural awards, but it has a charm all its own. It is a small two-storied house tucked away on a quiet street surrounded by a garden filled with seasonal flowers. At first glance, it looks like a charming old house with a creaky front door. No matter what it looks like from the outside, the inside holds a warmth that makes it truly special.

Stepping through the front door is like entering a different world. It might be the smell of freshly baked cookies wafting from the kitchen, the soft glow of a reading lamp in a corner, or the playful barks of a furry friend greeting you at the entrance. Each house has its own unique welcome, a sensory experience that instantly puts you at ease.

The heart of my house is probably the living room. It’s the place where everyone gathers, a space that’s seen in movie marathons, epic board game battles, and countless stories shared by the flickering light of the fireplace (or the warm glow of the TV!). This central space might be a formal living room with plush couches, a casual den filled with beanbags and pillows, or even a sunroom flooded with natural light. No matter the style, it’s the room where laughter and conversation flow freely.

The kitchen is more than just a place to cook; it’s the heart of many happy memories. It might be the aroma of your mom’s special dish filling the air, the sound of sizzling pancakes on a Saturday morning, or the chaos of baking a birthday cake with flour dusting everyone’s faces. It’s a place where families bond, sharing stories and laughter as meals are prepared. It’s the room where traditions are created, from helping grandma knead dough for her famous cookies to learning a new recipe with your dad.

Bedrooms, on the other hand, are individual havens. They are our personal sanctuaries, filled with things that reflect our personalities and interests. My room might be a haven for books and board games, a music lover’s paradise with posters and instruments, or a budding artist’s studio bursting with paints and sketches. It’s a space where we can relax, recharge, and be ourselves.

A house is more than just a room…

But a house isn’t just about the rooms; it’s about the memories that fill them. It’s the laughter echoing from birthday parties, the nervous butterflies before a school play practiced in the living room, the quiet moments spent reading a favorite book curled up in a corner.

Each creak of the floorboards, each worn patch on the rug, tells a story. Maybe it’s the chipped mug you used for your first cup of hot chocolate, or the dent on the wall from an epic dodgeball tournament in the hallway. These imperfections aren’t flaws; they’re proof of life lived, stories etched into the very fabric of the house.

Of course, a house doesn’t come to life on its own. It’s the people who fill it with love, laughter, and warmth that make it a home. It’s the family meals shared around the table, the movie nights where popcorn spills and blankets get tangled, the quiet moments spent talking with a loved one. And It’s the feeling of safety and security, the knowledge that no matter what happens outside, there’s always a place where you are accepted and loved.

Sometimes, a house can be more than just a place with walls and a roof. It can be a refuge, a place to come back to after a long day, a space to celebrate victories and find comfort in times of need. It’s a constant presence in our lives, a silent witness to our growth and change. It’s a place where traditions are passed down, where dreams are nurtured, and where we learn what it means to belong.

So, the next time you step through your own front door, take a moment to appreciate the magic that surrounds you. It might not be a palace, but it’s your own special place – a place called Home.

My House Essay: 600 words

My House Essay_ 600 words

A house can be defined as a building of any size that has four walls and a roof and is used by individuals or families for shelter and living purposes. It is one of the most basic requirements of human beings apart from food, clean water, and oxygen. However, not many people have a house or even a roof over their heads to protect themselves from the natural elements like sun and rain. This is why I consider myself blessed that I live in a house made of bricks and cement which protects my family and me from the sun, wind, rain, and cold winds.

My Ancestral House in Chandannagar

Our house is in Chandannagar, a city in the Hooghly district of West Bengal. The house was built by my grandfather’s father during the 1930s and is more than 70 years old. It is an ancestral house that I share with my big joint family consisting of 15 members.

There is a very interesting story associated with the house. My grandfather’s father used to work as an accountant for the zamindars of the Balagarh region. They were very pleased and impressed with my grandfather’s father because of the dedication and sincerity shown by him during the course of his employment with them. As a result, they gifted a handsome sum of money along with this land to my grandfather’s father upon his retirement. Our ancestral house which I am going to talk about here was built on this land.

A Short description of my Ancestral House

The house is three-storeyed and quite large. The house is U-shaped with an open courtyard in the middle. On either side of the courtyard, there are long pillars and red-floored verandahs. At one end of the courtyard, there is a small thakurdalan where rituals and pujas of different gods and goddesses are held throughout the year.

There are two large staircases at either end of the ground-floor verandah leading to the upper floors. The house has 20 rooms in total and 10 bathrooms. Some of the rooms are set aside for guests and my cousins who have married and moved away, but frequently come to stay with us.

In the ground floor, we have a sitting area, a kitchen and a dining area. The dining room is quite large and can hold 20 people at once. In addition to these three rooms, there are only two other rooms on the ground floor. On the first floor there are 10 rooms. My grandparents, parents, paternal uncles and aunts stay in this floor. My cousins and I have our rooms on the top floor. This is because we wanted some privacy from the elders. When all the cousins are here during festival times, we have lots of fun.

We have a huge U-shaped terrace – from one end of the terrace we can see the road in front of our house and from the other end we can see the garden at the back of our house. Back when I was a kid, we had a clear view of our neighborhood and surrounding areas. But nowadays there are lots of apartment building around our house which blocks the view.

Conclusion

I feel extremely lucky that I have a room of my own in my ancestral home which I share with my huge joint family. I feel safe and secure and the place holds a lot of beautiful memories of my childhood. It is a privilege that not many can enjoy. This is why I aim to take care of my ancestral home for as long as I can with or without my cousins’ help.

My House Essay within 500 words

My House Essay within 500 words

We should always be happy about the things we have – including the people close to us and our belongings. I live in India , where most people live below the poverty line; having a house equals almost everything. This essay is about my house, where I belong.

The Idea Of A House

A house is very important among some essential commodities (food, shelter, and clothing). Based on their requirement and living capacity, humans have constructed their houses in different styles and structures throughout the centuries. In the modern era, while some of us live in a ranch, duplexes, apartments, bungalows, or little huts.

But, no matter where we live, a house is where we feel at ease and safe. It is our shelter for ultimate safety, love, peace, and comfort. The idea of a house started in the ancient age when cavemen dwelled in caves. During this period, life was unrecognized and was not systematic. However, as the human species evolved, the need for houses became prominent with the population increasing.

Houses are built upon two different aspects – needs and imagination. The foundation needs to be strong to withstand any small natural disaster, and the construction should have different appearances based on how far we can imagine.

I was born in a village in West Bengal, India, and I live in a spacious house in the village. No, my house is not big like a bungalow. But it is spacious enough to accommodate ten family members. My father and my uncles inherited the house after my grandfather’s death, and we still live as one family.

We do not have a bedroom for each family member, but we manage the five medium-sized rooms we have. We have five bedrooms, two bathrooms, and two toilets at my home. However, there is only one kitchen where the meal for the entire family is cooked.

The house takes the shape of a square, with the bedrooms, kitchen, bathrooms, and toilets surrounding an open veranda facing the open sky. There is only one entrance to the house, and it leads straight to the main road in front of the house.

The surrounding of my house is full of different small and big trees like –Mango, Jackfruit, Bamboo, Neem, and more. Unfortunately, I had to leave my happy home and birthplace and come to the city for my job. Right now, I share a 2BH apartment with a friend.

Dream House

However, someday, I dream of returning to my home and renovating it into the house I dream of having. I want to renovate my house with lots of ventilation, a little space for a garden, spacious rooms, and clean water and electricity system. Most importantly, I will include a little balcony and a small library at my home.

A house is a place where we can be ourselves, and let our guard down. It is where we can feel loved, cared for, and feel at ease. Also, it is not always about the existence of a brick-and-mortar property; our family members or people who love us create a sense of feeling at home.

The backyard is my favorite place in the house. It has a swing, a small garden, and a large patio where I like to relax on sunny days. My house is not just a physical structure but a place that holds many of my precious memories and is a true reflection of who I am.

It is where I was born and grew up. All the fond memories of playing with my father, laughing, and sleeping on my mother’s lap are built around this house.

Essay on My House for Students and Children

500+ words essay on my house.

Essay on My House:  The world consists of all types of people. Some are fortunate enough to have amenities while some aren’t. Especially in a country like India, where the majority of the population lives below the poverty line . To own a house here is no less than a luxury, one which I thankfully have. I am blessed to be protected by four walls and a roof.

Essay on My house

It is my parent’s hard work that has given us this blessing. Many people in today’s world are always complaining about the things they don’t have. The person who has a house wants a bungalow. The one who owns a bungalow wants a palace. The one living in a palace wants an island. This never-ending cycle goes on. However, if we look at the people below us rather than those who are above us, we will be happier.

An Underrated Blessing

Having a house is an underrated blessing. If you have not realized it yet, you can go and ask any person who doesn’t have a house. Only then will you realize what a great blessing it is to have a house. Houses do not necessarily have to be luxuriously filled with the latest amenities. A house is complete if you have a roof over your head.

Moreover, if you have your loved ones around, then there can be no greater blessing. You must realize the importance of your house before it gets too late. Even I never knew how precious my house was up until one incident that changed my outlook.

We had house help growing up. The maid who used to work for us always came early in the morning and would leave in the evening. Even when my mother asked her to leave early as she completed the work on time, she never did that. On the other hand, she used to do extra work. Later we found out that she never really had a house. It was just a hut which had one chair and one folding. And that she liked spending time most of the time at our house because she had access to all basic facilities like electricity and clean water.

This incident made me realize how I took my house for granted. It is truly an underrated blessing which is overlooked by others. We must value our homes before it gets too late.

I live in my ancestral home with my grandparents, parents, and siblings. My grandfather built this house with his hard work. It has four rooms, one kitchen, two bathrooms, and a patio. My house is at least fifty years old.

I admire the beauty of my house. The vintage vibes make it even more beautiful. My grandparents have a small garden in the patio which adds greenery to my house. Moreover, it also has two trees. One is a pomegranate tree and the other is a Henna tree. They provide us with shade and sweet fruits.

My house has very high ceilings as it was made many years back. It has vintage switchboards which give it a very unique look. My house is situated in the middle of four roads. It is not joined to any other house. My house has four entrances from each side.

Whenever my friends come over to my house, they click a lot of pictures. Even my relatives love the interior of the house which is a mix of modern and vintage architecture. My house is colored in brown and beige color and it stands out in our locality.

Long Essay On My House

Everyone has their own special place in the world that they can call home – whether it’s a house, an apartment, or even a treehouse! In this essay, we’ll take a look at what makes our houses unique to us and explore the ways in which we make them our own personal havens. Read on to find out more about my house and what it means to me!

Introduction

I was born and raised in a small town in upstate New York. My parents still live in the house I grew up in and I have many happy memories of my childhood there. After college, I moved to New York City to pursue my career. I now live in a small apartment in Brooklyn with my cat, Mr. Mittens. Though I love my life here, there are times when I miss the simplicity of my childhood home.

When people ask me where I’m from, I usually just say “New York.” But if they ask me specifically where in New York, I always hesitate for a moment before answering. Do I say the name of the small town where I grew up? Or do I say the name of the big city where I live now? They are both part of my story, but they feel like such different parts of my life.

I was born and raised in a small town in upstate New York. My parents still live in the house I grew up in and I have many happy memories of my childhood there. After college, I moved to New York City to pursue my career. Though it can be overwhelming at times, living here has been an amazing experience and has allowed me to meet so many interesting people from all over the world.

My house description

I live in a small town in the middle of nowhere. My house is old and drafty, but I love it. It’s my refuge from the outside world. When I’m inside my house, I can relax and be myself. I don’t have to worry about what other people think of me.

My house is small, but it has everything I need. There’s a cozy living room with a fireplace, a comfortable kitchen, and a bathroom with a clawfoot tub. Upstairs, there are two bedrooms – one for me and one for my cat, Max.

I’ve lived in my house for five years, and I can’t imagine living anywhere else. It may not be perfect, but it’s perfect for me.

Reasons for loving my house

There are many reasons to love my house. I have lived in it for four years, and it has been a great place to call home. Here are some of the reasons why I love my house:

1. It’s close to everything. My house is located in a small town, but it’s only a few minutes away from the city. This is convenient for when I need to go into the city for work or errands.

2. It’s comfortable. My house is the perfect size for me and my family. It has all the amenities we need, and it’s always nice and clean.

3. It has a great yard. I love spending time outside, and my house has a large yard with plenty of space for gardening, playing games, and relaxing.

4. It’s mine. After years of renting, I finally bought my own house four years ago. This is the place I can truly call home, and I’m so grateful to have it.

The history of my house

I have always been fascinated by the history of my house. I grew up in a small town in Massachusetts and my family has lived in the same house for generations. I remember hearing stories about my ancestors from my grandparents and great-grandparents. They would tell me about the original settlers of the town, how they built the first houses, and what life was like back then. I was always intrigued by these stories and wished I could go back in time and see it all for myself.

As I got older, I started doing some research on the history of my house. I found out that it was built in 1790 by a man named John Smith. He was one of the first settlers of the town and he built several houses in the area. I also found out that my house was used as a stopping point for stagecoaches traveling between Boston and New York City. It was a popular stop because of its location near the river.

I continue to be fascinated by the history of my house and love learning more about it. Every time I find out something new, it feels like I am taking a step back in time. It is amazing to think about all of the people who have lived in my house over the years and all of the memories that have been made here.

Memories associated with my house

There are many memories associated with my house. I grew up in this house and have many happy memories of childhood experiences here. Some of my favorite memories include playing in the backyard with my friends, having sleepovers in the living room, and spending time with my family in the kitchen. Each room of my house holds special memories for me and I cherish these memories dearly.

My house is my haven, and it always has been. It is where I can find peace, safety, and comfort. Its walls are a reminder of the wonderful memories I have with my family and friends. My house may not be grand or luxurious but it means the world to me because it holds within its walls all that matters in life – love, laughter, joy, hope and dreams for the future. No matter what happens in life or where I go from here on out, this place will remain close to my heart as long as I live.

Essay on My House (1000+ Words)

Many people tend to understand that providing a comfortable place of refuge is a privilege for thousands of people in poverty.

Homes are areas that have a space for resting, dining, and maintaining personal hygiene peacefully. Consequently, these simple requirements for protection become impossible for those who are homeless or expected to live in cramped shelters for individuals like them.

It is the hard work of my parent, which has earned us this blessing. Many out there in the contemporary world are still moaning about what they don’t have. The guy who’s got a house wants the bungalow aims for a castle.

An Underrated Blessing

Getting a house is an understatement of joy. If you haven’t noticed that yet, you should go and ask someone who doesn’t have a home.

I live at my ancestral home of my grandmother, my parents, or my siblings. I thank them for their hard work , including my grandparents, who designed this home. It has four beds, a kitchen, two bathrooms and a patio. My building is nearly fifty years old.

I just like the balcony in my house – it’s next to the kitchen, and overflowing with several species of plants, most of which also have lovely flowers. The balcony is a great place to stand and watch the sun dip far below the sea within the tall buildings.

Houses for everyone

Most residents travel in small houses, houseboats, tents, and campers. Mobility is beneficial for those who do not want to live in a particular location and want a cheaper way to move and work.

However, through considerable media attention and efforts to support the homeless, such people and families continue to rise in percentages.

10 Lines on My House

But none of these aspects dictates what makes the house the home–a house is one in which the entity is at ease, in which they can spend their time with the ones they truly live for.

Introduction

There are different types of people living in the world. Some are lucky enough to acquire all the amenities while some are not. Specifically, almost 80% of the population live below the poverty line in India. Only a fortunate few can own a piece of land where they can build a house or buy a flat. As far as myself is concerned, I am blessed enough to be surrounded by four walls and a roof. It is a small but beautiful house that we call home. It is the fruit of my parent’s hard work and sacrifice.

House: A Blessing

In this world of uncertainty, having a house is obviously a blessing. This can only be understood when the people who do not have it are asked about it. This is the only way of realising the blessing of owning a house. A house is not always defined as luxurious if it is filled with all the latest amenities. Only a roof over the head can complete a house if there is happiness filled in it.

But then again, only four walls and a roof always cannot complete a house. It is successfully completed when you are surrounded by your loved ones. The importance and significance of a house must be realised before it is too late. I realised it later. I had started to understand the importance of my house after an incident.

I have grown up with my parents and grandparents and a maid. The maid was from a distant place and she has been staying with us from my childhood days. One thing I noticed was that she did not want to go home. She worked for our house tirelessly. Even when my mother asked her to visit her home she denied every time. This particular thing astonished me. After that, I came to know that she did not have a proper house to live in. She wanted to spend all the time at our house because she was able to access all basic needs like electricity and water. This particular thing made me realise that no house is taken for granted. I am truly blessed to have a house.

I live in a house made by my parents, with my parents and grandparents. My parents built this house for us with a lot of hard work. It has three rooms, one balcony, one kitchen, two bathrooms, and a terrace. The house is open towards the south and very airy. The balcony is large enough where we can spend a lot of time enjoying the beauty of nature. The house is well-equipped with all the basic amenities. The speciality of our house is obviously the balcony. The location of the house is also very good as it is easily accessible from all parts of the city.

My house is also a destination for my friends and relatives. Everyone likes the interior decoration and the set-up of our house. The perfect blend of modern facilities and vintage architecture makes our house so special.

Essay - My House

My mother always said, “The best things in life are free”. I believe that the only thing that really makes a house is the family that lives there. In this essay, I am going to show you why my family means so much to me more than any other thing and why this is the house that I want to live my whole life in.

My father is a carpenter and has worked hard to provide us with the best house, life, and education that we could have asked for. The house my family lives in, is a beautiful three story, ranch style home with a big yard and the perfect views of the surrounding city skyline. The house has one of the largest living areas my family could ever ask for. The house has been built with great workmanship and every room has been planned with the family in mind.

My father used every cent of the money that he earned building this house to provide us the best life. The house has been remodelled many times over the years, as my parents had different ideas on how they wanted it to look. Some of the updates include new flooring, ceilings, and appliances. My mom spends most of her time cleaning the house, doing laundry, and cooking dinner, even though she has been a homemaker all her life. I was lucky enough to be able to spend every summer as a kid helping my father fix the house up.

During the school year, I helped him keep the house clean and I got to spend most of my free time doing what I really love, watching action and comedy movies. I was always impressed with how much work my father had to do to build this house and how proud he was when he finally finished. For the past 12 years, I wanted to be a professional basketball player, and have a lot of fun in the process of being a professional basketball player.

I am a very competitive person and I always wanted to beat my opponents to prove how good I am. During my college years, I would go to practice twice a week and play every single game. My teammates always supported me, and my father always encouraged me to do the best I can. When I had to make a decision of which college I wanted to go to, I chose Duke University because I thought that it would be a better opportunity for me to succeed.

The school is where I got my first opportunity to show the world that I am a professional basketball player. My team, Duke Blue Devils Basketball, had a very successful year as they won the ACC Championship. I made the decision to leave my school, North Carolina because I wanted to live in the city and I have more experience playing in front of a home crowd. I did not play as much as I wanted to, because I was hurt during the first season and had to rest my ankle. My dream was to play in the NBA, and I had the opportunity to get drafted when I was drafted number 14 by the Utah Jazz. I have loved my time at Duke and I am thankful to the coaches and teammates I have had. I am going to leave Duke Basketball with more than my high school teammates because of the opportunities I have had during the years I was there.

The house I live in now is my fourth home. It's my "dream house." It's big, and there's room for everything: books and furniture, clothes, pictures, toys, whatever. It's the perfect house for a three-year-old boy. It's even pretty. My sister bought it when she moved in, and we've added lots of stuff since then. It's a good place to live and it's warm in the winter, cool in the summer, and light-filled in the daytime.

But my house is not a house for me. I'm the oldest of four siblings and I'm usually the last one in my family to find a place. The others have homes already and they're busy taking care of their families. I'm not that busy. I don't have children and I don't really have much in my life. Most of the time I just stay home and read or watch television. And I like it like that.

In addition to reading and watching television, I also like to play games. I play a lot of the video games my sister has bought for me, but I also have many other toys and games of my own. My sister's house is a little crowded with the things I use, but I have room for it in my house. My house has a closet full of shoes and clothes and all the toys my brother has brought home since he was a baby. But my house is not a home.

It's too big and too expensive. A one-bedroom apartment in my neighbourhood is much smaller and much cheaper than my house. Plus, I have a little room in my own closet. I can't take everything with me when I move, just like I can't take all the things in my house with me. I have to decide what stays with me and what goes in my basement. I try to make a list of the things I want to take, but sometimes it's too difficult to decide which things are more important. I'm not sure where my house came from.

My mom bought it, but she's not always been around. We live in a three-story house, and it's hard to find anyone to live in our basement. We can't even make any money renting it out, because people don't even want to visit. I've called my dad once in the last few months, and he said he had no idea where we were, but I know the truth. He's not really my dad.

I wonder if my house was always this way and if my mom would still be my mom if I stayed. She was more, my mom, before I was born, and after I came into her life, my dad started to get more important to her. When she met my dad, she got pregnant again, but my mom and I never got to see him. So my mom went back to her old life, and I thought she would never get to know me. I always wondered if I would have had a different life if I had stayed. I know I'd have wanted a better life for my mom, and I would've wanted a better life for myself, but I had to go and make my dad happy.

I know the decision I have to make was hard for my mom, but my dad's the one who didn't want me, and it's not like he's changed his mind. He still doesn't want me around. I just wish my mom had tried harder, but she did the best she could. It was hard for her to keep trying after he told her no more times.

Conclusion

My house is my temple and my cosy corner at the same time. At the end of a tiring day it is the refuge of our house that we seek so fervently. It is certainly painful to think of people spending days and nights under the open sky but at the same time it fills me with the determination that I must grow up to be successful in eliminating their distress.

Each room reflects our personalities and aspirations, making the house uniquely ours. My house is more than just a dwelling; it is a sanctuary where we find inspiration, create memories, and nurture our dreams. It reminds us that a home is built not just with bricks, but with love and hope.

Essay on My House for Class 2

‘I have a big house, located in the central tower of the city. It has a large balcony from where we can see the beautiful sunset every evening. There is a cosy living room. We have soft sofas and colourful cushions. The walls have pictures of my family smiling and having fun. It’s where we play games and tell stories.

My bedroom is next to the kitchen. It is painted in my favourite colours, red and purple. I have a comfy bed with my favourite teddy bear. My toys and books are neatly arranged on shelves. I love sleeping in my cosy room.

There is the kitchen, where my mother cooks delicious food for everyone. I usually stay away from the kitchen as I mix up the ingredients sometimes. There is a balcony facing west, where me and my brother enjoy the cool evening breeze.

My house is the best place in the world. It’s my little paradise, where, my father, mother, brother and my dog, Jhonny, feel safe and happy. I love my house very much!’

300 Words Essay on My House for School Students

‘My house is located on the 2nd floor of my building and consists of 3 bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, and 3 washrooms. My house is a sanctuary of emotions for me and my family. Since I was born, we have been living there and it’s our warehouse of memory, where we laughed, played, and grew together. It’s not just a house; it’s our canvas of memory.’

‘My house is one of the oldest structures in the neighbourhood and has witnessed many seasons of fall, summer, autumn, and winter. The front door still has scratches from our energetic dog, Bruno, who used to run in the entire house all day.’

‘When I go home after school, I can smell the scent of the walls and the floor, my bed calling me for a nice nap, and my mother, cooking delicious lunch for me and my siblings. Our kitchen had a big pantry, where my mother cooked meals for us. The constant fighting between me and my brother over beverages in the refrigerator is one of the nostalgic memories.’

‘The living room was adorned with furniture and our family photograms. It was the heart of our home, as my entire family used to watch TV at the end of the day. The cute remote fighting and preferred place on the sofa are some memories I still cherish.’

‘We had three bedrooms, one for my parents, one for my elder sister, and one for me and my brother.  It’s a space where I retreat to reflect, recharge, and indulge in the luxury of personal space.’

My house is more than some brick and cement structure; it is our sacred kingdom of memories, a place where me and my family are complete and feel safe. Our late-night laughter, whispered secrets and comforting embrace make my house more than a residence.’

Paragraph on My Dream House

‘My dream house will be located on top of a mountain so that I can see everything from there and enjoy the rich beauty of the hills. I can experience the clouds passing thousands of miles out of my windows from sunrise to sunset. My dream house will be a magical castle with colourful decorations and superhero wallpapers all over it. Since I’m a dog lover, there will be a pair of Golden Retrievers, with whom I’ll play all day in our backyard. Inside my dream house, there will be a large living room, where me and my family can have our 3 times meals and enjoy movies. I’m not sure about the size of my dream house, but it will be big enough that my parents, siblings, and dogs can live a fruitful life. Each day will be celebrated with joy and happiness, and I can go on treks anywhere on the hills.’

Essay On My House For Class 1, 2 & 3 Kids

Shaili Contractor

Key Points To Remember When Writing An Essay On My House For Lower Primary Classes

5 lines on my house, 10 lines on my house in english, a paragraph on my house for children, short essay on my house in english for kids, long essay on my house for kids, what will your 1st, 2nd or 3rd grader learn from this essay on my house.

Everybody has a strong connection to their house. The house’s structure, size, special features, elements of beautification and even the family members residing in the house make each home unique and special. Essay topics such as describing “My House” are frequently asked in class as part of writing exercises. Essay writing is an important skill that children need to develop from an early age. My House is a relatively easy topic as children can gather lots of thoughts and details about their house creatively. Let us guide your child to write an essay on My House for classes 1, 2 and 3 in a few single lines, a short paragraph, and a long paragraph.

Here are some tips for writing an essay on My House:

  • An essay on My House can involve different details about the house, such as its size, location, type, and architectural style.
  • When describing the house, you can talk about how the different features make you feel.
  • Make the features more appealing by giving the readers a feel of them.
  • Long essays should have introductory and concluding lines.
  • Talk about what you feel about your house, your favourite features, and why you think your house is the best.

Five-line essay for class 1 is the best way for your child to learn how to write. Here is an example of a five-line essay:

  • My house is my most favourite place in the world.
  • I live with my mother and father in my house.
  • My house has three floors and lots of stairs.
  • We have a garden outside our house with beautiful flowers.
  • I love staying in my house.

A longer essay for classes 1 & 2 sets the foundation for writing skills in children by gathering more ideas and including more details. Check out this example of a 10-line essay on My House:

  • My house is a beautiful three-storied building situated in the suburbs of the city.
  • It is located in a green and peaceful neighbourhood.
  • We have gardens in the front and back of the house.
  • When you step inside the house, you will enter a spacious living room.
  • Our house has five rooms. My sister and I each have a separate room.
  • My room has a balcony that faces the neighbouring park.
  • I spend time on my balcony every evening and enjoy watching the sunset with my grandpa.
  • We have a kitchen in the house that connects to the garden in the back.
  • We grow all types of herbs and vegetables in the kitchen garden.
  • My house is the best one in the whole world.

Short paragraph essays are a good place to learn how to write longer essays. Here is an example of a short essay on My House:

Every person needs a house to stay in. I live in a cozy house in the middle of the city with my parents and younger brother. Our house is just one street away from the playground where I go to play cricket. Our house has two bedrooms, one living room, and one kitchen. My brother and I share the same room in the house. Since my house is close to the main road, we find it easy to go from our house to any part of the city. We have a terrace in the house where my brother and I often play. I love my house because it is a great place to live.

Here is an example of a short essay on my house. These essays are the building blocks to learning how to write long essays:

My beautiful house is on the outskirts of the city. We have built our house on a big plot with lots of garden space and greenery to enjoy. My house has three bedrooms and a living room, along with a kitchen and a dining room. All of this is surrounded by a high compound wall on which we grow decorative creepers.

Our house is spacious and also well-lit since we have huge windows in all the living spaces. When we sit for our breakfast every day, we enjoy a wonderful view of the backyard with the lawn and flowers. Different materials such as bricks, cement, tiles, marbles, and wood were used to build the house.

My house is the best place in the world, and my friends love to come here and play with me. We have plenty of space to play all the games and don’t have to go out on the street.

A long descriptive essay about my house can be tricky to write because children need to write creatively after gathering several ideas. However, children can write a good essay by going about it systematically and maintaining the flow. Here is an example of an essay for class 3:

I live in a gorgeous house inside a colony in a small town next to the city. Our house was constructed recently, and we moved in a few months ago. It is a two-storied building with four rooms, a living room, kitchen, dining room, terrace, and a basement. We have plenty of space within the compound to build a garden. We have planted many different types of flowering plants and vegetables in our garden.

My room is on the first floor with a big balcony that has a panoramic view. It also enables me to set up my telescope and observe the night sky comfortably. We have a big kitchen with a door that opens to the garden in the back. My parents take their tea on the lawn every evening in the kitchen garden.

My favourite part of my house is our terrace. It is a vast open space on the roof of our house which is nicely decorated for spending leisure time. There is a large swing on the terrace, on which I love to spend my evenings reading my favourite books. Sometimes I also call my friends over, and we play catch on the terrace. At night, the open terrace is breathtaking to look at. I can see all the stars and the moon as well when the skies are clear. I like to lie down and count the stars during such clear nights.

Our house is located in a very friendly and nice locality. There is a small market near my house from where my father brings fruits and vegetables every morning. We also have very good neighbours. They are kind and generous people who are ready to help at any time. I love my new house and all its beautiful features. I enjoy spending time in my house more than anywhere else.

From these examples of compositions on My House, children can gather plenty of ideas on how to write an essay on their own. This essay is also a great opportunity for your children to express their thoughts and feelings about their home. It also helps them observe their house in better detail than ever before, as they write their observations in words.

Our house has a special place in our hearts. It is the place where we feel safe and secure. From the examples above, children can pick up ideas and craft their own compositions on the topic.

Essay on My House: A building constructed by people for shelter and living can be defined as a house. They carry out their essential activities in homes. The house is built for the family, and a house becomes a home with the care and affection of the family members. A home is a place that gives a sense of comfort, security, and well-being. Today we will write an essay on essay on my house.

It is rightly said, “East or West, one’s home is the best”. House gives us coziness, relaxation, and comfort. House is an apartment, home, or a flat where we live, especially with our loved and dear ones. It carries a love for those people who live away from their house. However, those who are homeless are deprived children of God.

Like other fortunate children, even I have a house. I stay with my loving parents and an elder sister. We stay in a cooperative housing society. Although our house is small, it is cozy and filled with love, laughter, peace, and joy. It has one bedroom, a hall, and a kitchen. The bedroom is painted with lemon yellow color. Our hall is painted with bright pink and kitchen with light green colors.

My house is located on the first floor of the building. However, it is situated far out in the suburbs. It is at some distance from the town. The neighboring areas near my house are full of peace and silence. There are plenty of trees around our society. This keeps the surroundings cool and pleasant. We get plenty of fresh and cool air.

A great deal of love and kindness is seen in my house. There is simple but useful wooden furniture in the house. My mummy takes great care that my sister and I keep the house neat and tidy. Our dining table has a green glass on it. My sister and I share a common study table. Daddy has specially made two beds, one above the other for me and my sister. I sleep on top and she sleeps below.

There are quite a few facilities in the kitchen. We have a sandwich maker, a small microwave oven, an idli cooker, and a pop-up toaster. We even have a juicer. Our television is in the hall. In the late evening, after daddy comes from the office we all sit together and watch our favourite programs. There is also a wall cabinet in the hall. We have kept our trophies and other prizes on the cabinet.

Different comforts and luxuries in the world cannot make a house a home. Kindness, gentleness, affection, and unconditional love can make a house a home. When I see my house, I am filled with the feeling of being grateful to God. I am even thankful to my parents for providing me with such a comfortable house.

Essay on My House for Students in English – Simple Words

January 3, 2021 by Sandeep

Essay on My House: My beautiful house is a paradise for my entire family. We have three bedrooms, kitchen, bathrooms, living room, dining hall and a prayer hall. Our house is beautifully planned with the latest marble flooring and exquisite decorative walls. The architecture of the house looks serene and splendid with eco-friendly patterns. We have allowed provisions for rainwater harvesting and groundwater collection to aid water conservation.

Essay on My House 200 Words in English

Below we have provided My House Essay in English, suitable for class 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.

People live in many different kinds of houses. As for me, I usually live in an apartment on the top floor of a building in the middle of the city. As I live in the heart of my city, it is often bustling with crowds of busy people trying to get to work, get back home, or spend some time with their friends and family. Since I live on the top floor, I am lucky enough not to be disturbed by street sounds like honking, traffic, and roaring motorcycles.

My apartment has three bedrooms – one for me and my brother, another for guests, and a third for my parents. It also has a single kitchen, a living room, multiple bathrooms, a balcony, and a long hallway connecting all these rooms. As someone who has shifted houses multiple times in several years, it can be difficult to develop a strong attachment to a house. Nevertheless, my favourite aspects of the apartment would definitely be the large windows in my room.

Two of the four walls of my room mainly consist of windows, which allows plenty of sunlight to enter and gives me a gorgeous view of the sunset in the evening. I also love the balcony in my home- it’s attached to the kitchen and is filled with many different kinds of plants, some of which even have beautiful flowers. The balcony is also an excellent viewing spot to stand and stare at the sun dip below a sea of tall buildings.

The Sacred Appeal of Household Labor

A woman in a white dress holds a large white cleaning cloth in front of herself.

By Lydia Sohn

Ms. Sohn is a United Methodist minister and writer. Her book, “Here: A Spirituality of Staying in a Culture of Leaving,” is forthcoming.

In the early days of motherhood, I found myself taking an interest in the steady stream of ads and apps that promised to help my husband and me stay on top of our piling-up chores. Seemingly every household task could be subcontracted for a fee — offers to pick up, clean and fold our laundry; handymen to put together new furniture; sleep experts to sleep-train our toddler; a bevy of meal-kit purveyors, each vying for my attention with promotional postcards and sign-up bonuses.

I was becoming immersed in a self-help world of books, essays and podcasts that encouraged busy parents with full-time careers to outsource as much as they could to optimize what truly mattered to them — in my case, being really good at my job and having the maximum level of quality time with my family and friends. I no longer wanted to return home after a long day of work to cook a meal for the family (or have my husband do it either). And if outsourcing domestic labor meant having less money, it also meant doing less of what I didn’t want to do so that I could do more of what I did want to do.

We have a modern-day obsession with efficiency. Market research projects that 80 percent of dual-income households in America will use some kind of cleaning service in the coming years. And though there have been precipitous fluctuations in growth rates, share prices and usage statistics (especially during and after the pandemic), the gig economy, which includes convenience platforms like Grubhub, TaskRabbit and Instacart, has seen consistent growth in recent years.

It wasn’t until I read “The Wisdom Way of Knowing,” by Cynthia Bourgeault, an Episcopal priest, that I began to wonder if something was getting lost in our culture’s emphasis on time management. In the book, Ms. Bourgeault describes her rationale for how she organized a retreat for participants seeking to deepen their spirituality: “On Eagle Island, certainly, we could have doubled the instructional time and hired out the cooking and chores. It would have been vastly more efficient. The only problem — at least if the road maps we were following are correct — is that none of the sacred alchemy would have taken place.”

Such an idea isn’t new; it finds its roots in many ancient spiritual traditions, including the Christian tradition of the Benedictine monastic order. Indeed, it lies at the heart of the unofficial Latin motto of the Benedictines, “Ora et labora” (“pray and work”).

As Western Europe fell into political and cultural disarray during the early Middle Ages after the fall of the Roman Empire, some scholars claim that the Benedictines served as a steady but silent pillar through their devotion to “Ora et labora.” The Benedictines introduced cutting-edge agricultural methods that their neighbors were unfamiliar with, helping them to cultivate wastelands for food and welfare. And during a time when a majority of the continent was illiterate, the Benedictines promoted literacy and preserved classic manuscripts, laying the foundation for European universities. When the monks weren’t laboring in the fields or copying manuscripts, they were engaging in their regular spiritual practices of chanting, lectio divina (a contemplative method of reading the Bible) and meditation.
