The Chair will take into account the student's preferred starting date, but does not guarantee any.

Grading of the thesis

The submitted version of each thesis is read by Professor Keil and the instructor and only the final content shall be graded. The instructor and Professor Keil will read the thesis independently, discuss the strengths and weaknesses of your work and give the final, non-negotiable grade. No student will be offered a possibility to submit an additional version or otherwise extend the thesis time under any circumstances.

Each thesis is assessed according to the Chair's international standards (which are kept quite high) on what should be expected from Bachelor or Master thesis.

Please take into account that the grading of each thesis can take up to eight weeks. If a student has a real need to receive the grade sooner (e.g., to be able to apply to an exchange program and need to have the thesis in the record before the deadline, or if the graduation becomes at risk) the student must inform us well in advance, with the clear reasons for the urgency and we will do our best to accommodate the schedule.

International Management (B. A.)

international management bachelor thesis

The Bachelor's degree program in International Management (B. A.) at THI Business School offers a comprehensive business education with a strong international focus. As part of the International Management degree program , students acquire knowledge in digital transformation & business models, national and international accounting, cost accounting and cost management as well as global supply chain management, among others. In addition, students can specialize in various management functions, including marketing and sales, digital business and controlling and finance.

In addition to business subjects, the course also includes learning a foreign language (Chinese, French or Spanish) and acquiring intercultural skills, e.g. as part of International Business Diplomacy and Crosscultural Management.

In addition, the International Management degree program includes a required study abroad and a required internship abroad , each lasting one semester, and offers guest lectures, excursions and student projects. Our I nternational Management degree program thus prepares students for a wide range of career opportunities in Germany and abroad, in corporations or SMEs. This Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) can also be studied as a dual degree and offers a double degree program .

Practical orientation is very important to us. Therefore, your International Management studies will start with an introduction week including an excursion as well as the analysis of an international company in teamwork. In the first part of your studies, you will learn about the basics of business administration and the basics of international management based on the latest scientific findings. These include e.g.  Digital Transformation & Business Models, National and International Accounting, Cost Accounting and Cost Management and Global Supply Chain Management. The lectures are partly taught in English. This allows you to consolidate your knowledge of English, which is important in an international context. In addition, you learn another foreign language (Chinese, French or Spanish) and thus increase your language skills. Furthermore, you will complete a basic internship of 8 weeks in the commercial sector.

From the third semester, you will solidify your specialist knowledge in international management and you will acquire relevant leadership knowledge and leadership skills in the context of International Business Diplomacy and Crosscultural Management. In addition, you will improve the foreign language you have chosen. You choose one out of eight selectable specializations and you will work on current topics in small groups directly with the professors. In addition to further basics such as Marketing and Sales, Corporate Finance and International Strategic Management, you can acquire professional, social and sustainability skills in five elective courses such as Business Start-up and Coaching for Formation of a Company, Social Competence in Communication and Negotiation or Sustainability Management. A theoretical semester is spent at a university abroad. THI offers you more than 140 cooperation partner universities. The theoretical semester is followed by the practical study semester which must be completed in a company abroad. With the final bachelor thesis you acquire the academic title Bachelor of Arts. This gives you the opportunity of a direct career entry or further specialization in the context of a master's programme.

Approximately half of the courses are in English or in an additional foreign language.

New international students bring diverse perspectives, cultures to campus.

Latest group of global student scholars from nearly 70 countries find their footing at SDSU during orientation for Fall classes

International students gather at San Diego State University for Fall 2024 orientation.

After earning a bachelor’s degree in her native Bangladesh, Munira Hasan began searching for a U.S. graduate psychology program that emphasized her interest in childhood development and youth mental health.

She found it at San Diego State University, arriving on campus for the first time last week, excited to begin her new academic journey.

“The program is really good. It is really selective, and my research interests match with my thesis adviser,” she said. “This was my first-choice school. I applied to a bunch of places, and I am very happy to get in. It feels so natural for me.”

Hasan joined roughly 550 new international students from nearly 70 countries last week for welcome orientation ahead of classes for the fall term.  They include four-year degree seeking undergrads, degree-seeking graduate students, and study abroad exchange students, some of whom plan to attend SDSU for the full academic year.

SDSU International Students mingle during orientation for the Fall 2024 term.

The total number of international students enrolled for the fall term, including returning students, won’t be available for a few weeks. For the university, this cohort of global students enriches  the cultural and intellectual diversity of the SDSU campus community, said Cristina Alfaro, Ph.D., Associate Vice President of International Affairs.

“We are committed to preparing graduates who are ready to thrive in a global context,” said Alfaro in his opening remarks. “SDSU’s focus is on bridging the gap from college to career because employers today are seeking individuals like you—leaders who possess a global perspective. That’s why we encourage many of our students to study abroad and engage in global learning experiences, as the demand for now in careers is that you have global perspectives.”

While international students attend SDSU for many reasons, the academic programs and the West Coast location often rank near the top.

International Students from Brazil attend orientation for the Fall 2024 term

Leny Dijoux, a French exchange student, is spending a year at SDSU studying political science. “I think it’s cool to be in California,” he said. “It’s right next to Mexico. You can take Spanish. There are a lot of cultural features. I love it.”

Camila Morales, a degree-seeking freshman from Costa Rica majoring in mechanical engineering, called SDSU “a very complete university with good programs and a good social vibe.

“I wanted to study in California,” she said, “but a lot of options weren’t that affordable for international students. I did my research on each CSU, and San Diego State was the best for the program, the location, tuition and fees.”

Victoria Carlyle, a degree-seeking freshman from Toronto, Canada, chose SDSU after researching schools in California with the best tourism management majors.

“They have a really good program for hospitality and such a beautiful campus,” she said.

Nanaka Ushiyama, an exchange student from Japan taking LGBTQ+/gender studies classes at SDSU, lived in the Midwest for a few years during middle school. Now she’s looking forward to exploring a different part of the U.S.

“I want to improve my English and make more friends here,” she said.

International Student Munira Hasan from Bangladesh came to SDSU to study child development and mental health

Hasan, the graduate student from Bangladesh, plans to join a lab that investigates emotion regulation and social psychology using neuroscience methods to better understand and improve childhood development.

“In my country, mental health in general is super overlooked, and childhood mental health is even more overlooked,” she said. “I want to do something that will help the current research picture where I can be a resource for children.”

Learn more about the map styles

Each map type offers different information and each map style is designed for a different purpose. Read about the styles and map projection used in the above map (Physical Map of Novosibirsk).

Physical map

Physical map illustrates the mountains, lowlands, oceans, lakes and rivers and other physical landscape features of Novosibirsk. Differences in land elevations relative to the sea level are represented by color.

Green color represents lower elevations, orange or brown indicate higher elevations, shades of grey are used for the highest mountain ranges in the world. Underwater topography is represented by blues. Darker blues are used for the deepest water, lighter shades of blue represent shallower water such as the continental shelf.

Geographic map projection

A map projection is a way how to transform points on a Earth to points on a map. This map of Novosibirsk uses Plate Carree projection. The Plate Carree projection is a simple cylindrical projection originated in the ancient times. It has straight and equally spaced meridians and parallels that meet at right angles.

All projections from a sphere to a plane are distorted. The drawback of the Plate Carree projection is that it doesn't make an attempt to compensate for these distortions. For the general view of Novosibirsk, this is not a significant problem. The detailed maps use the Mercator projection which preserves the shape of small areas better.
