The IGNOU has released the guidelines that students must comply while preparing and submitting their assignments. Here are the updated guidelines:

All the assignments should be hand written.

Students must use A4 ruled paper (unless it is instructed on your TMA).

Leave 4 cm margin on left and right side of each page.

Do not use staplers, to bind the pages; you use need threads (what is typically found with cover files).

Avoid using any ink colour other than blue and black.

First you need to attach the cover page (You will find it at your study centre).

Then, attach a photocopy of your IGNOU ID card.

After that, attach a copy of your TMA (question paper on your assignment document).

Lastly, attach your hand written answers.

Leave one blank page in the end.

Do not use any files while submitting your assignments. Your assignment should only consist of the pages, tied with a thread.

You must take a submission receipt, which will be stamped by the study centre with submission dates. In case, your study centre is unable to provide you one, take a photocopy of the cover page of your assignment and get that stamped.

Note: For submission of practicals, you need to use a cover file.

IGNOU Assignment submission status 2024, practical and project status.

IGNOU assignment submission status shows the present status of assignment mark or grades transmitted to IGNOU Head Quarter located at New Delhi. The NEW link to check assignment status is given in Table below . The assignment status database is migrated from old server to new server. This data is forwarded by Study Center or Regional Center and can be checked on ignou.ac.in . On this same platform you can check the status of project and practical status also.

Possible reasons for non updating the IGNOU assignment award is given below. In such case student need to approach correctly for updation of their assignment marks.

IGNOU Assignment status is displayed generally after 30 to 40 days from the final last date for that TEE session (June / December). The possible  Many Reasons for non reflection of assignment status is listed below. IGNOU Assignment status for June 2024 has started showing now on the website. It indicates the course code for which assignment data is entered and sent.

IGNOU Assignment status is almost 95% completed for June 2024 Session. Assignment portal has started showing the status " Received to be processed " online. Study Centers has almost completed feeding data in the transmission portal for TEE December 2023 session . Click here to Check your present assignment status.

Question : I Submitted Assignment in March- May but assignment mark is not showing.

Answer : This assignment status reflects in August / September. So student need to wait till August - September.

Generally Once the assignment submission date is over, Study Center takes necessary  steps to get the assignment evaluated and is sent to the approved evaluator / Academic Counsellor of IGNOU for evaluation. Later when Evaluator completes the evaluation and tabulation of marks course wise then it submitted to the Study Center Co-ordinator. Later it is uploaded on the University website.

The Status of IGNOU assignment for June session starts showing on the portal from July onwards. In the same way December session assignment status starts showing in January. The Process of forwarding the marks of assignment the study center has just started for December session.

Assignment status is updated in this intermediate portal when mark / grade is transmitted by Study Center or RC. Status can be checked online minimum after one month of submission. Assignment, Practical, Project marks status first reflects on this intermediate portal, later it is updated in IGNOU Grade card.

• Enter your enrollment number.
• Select your programme.

Why IGNOU assignment status is not showing ? There are several reason for the same described here.

Gap in assignment submission is common in distance learning and guidelines for the same is here . It is important to submit the assignment before last date in order to avoid loss of six month or one session. Download your IGNOU ID card and attaching a copy with your assignment submission is a good practice. Know the reason for non reflection on assignment grades.

Assignment mark is directly updated in the grade card online after few months of submission. Student can also avail Student Supprt Services in case of any need.

When IGNOU Assignment Marks reflect in IGNOU Grade Card Online ?

It may take approximately 30 days to get updated in the online Grade Card after the online transmission by your IGNOU Study Center/Regional Center.

Large number of students are getting confused about checking their assignment status & marks online after submission of their assignments to the study centre which they prepare diligently. What is the Meaning of different Status message in IGNOU Assignment Submission status ?

There are 3 types of messages which reflects under “Status” Column.

Why My IGNOU assignment status showing online but not updated in grade card ?

There are some cases when Assignment grades are not reflected in Online IGNOU Grade Card even if it is forwarded by Study Center and it appears in intermediate status of assignment portal with the status “ Check Grade Card Status for detail” .  The possible reason for non updation of assignment mark in grade card is given below

Reason 1 : The first possible reason for such cases is, student may have submitted the assignment to the Study Center before their due  session and without completing minimum duration of study.

Example : Student of Jan 2021 admission Cycle (MEG which is Year based) is eligible to submit assignment in Sept / October 2021 – for TEE DEC 2021 Session. If such student submits assignment for TEE June 2021session then data of such student will not be updated on the grade card. In such case student need to contact study center or Regional center for further guidance.

Reason 2 : The Second possible reason for such cases is, Student submit the assignment to the Study Center after their maximum validity of Admission.

This is the sole responsibility of students to submit the assignment in correct session and after completion of minimum duration and before the maximum Admission Validity or else marks will not be updated in the grade card. For further clarity contact your regional center.

When should I see IGNOU Assignment submission status ?

The status of assignment submitted for June Session  starts reflecting on the website from  June / July  month. Similarly the status of assignment submitted for December Session  starts reflecting on the website from December / January  month.

Why my IGNOU Assignment mark is not updated in Grade Card online ? Discrepancy in course code ?

Any discrepancy, such as course code error, updation with wrong course code and wrong session etc, in your assignment submission status, you may bring to the notice of Co-ordinator OR functionaries of study center for immediate resolution.

IGNOU only accepts handwritten assignments; no typed assignments are allowed.

The document should be in the form of a PDF.

The maximum size of the document should not exceed 100 MB.

The file should be saved under your name.

Do not submit the assignment more than once.
