Recording thought, emotions, and feeling by writing them down in my diary help me have better control of myself. Writing a diary every day has improved my writing style, vocabulary, and creativity. The more I think of different worlds and ideas the more I learn. Writing everything in my diary has also taught me perseverance. Writing about my goals and ambitions every day and making effort to achieve them despite failures has helped build a winning attitude that never lets me give up. I keep moving from one milestone because I am able to record my steady progress towards my goal.
Writing a diary also relieves all my stress because it’s a silent companion who never gives an opinion about my life. My diary silently listens to all my problems and I also write down all my deep innermost thoughts in my diary. I don’t have to keep all the things to myself because I can brain-dump all my stress, frustrations, pains, and problems in my diary. Many people will not believe me but writing a diary has enabled me to remember more by boosting my memory. I have also felt that my dear diary has helped me have a better memory function as I am able to remember more.

I have now entered college, it’s like starting a new life for me. I gave all my vacation time at our own store but now it’s time to focus on my studies again. I will strive to get the same success that I had in my school. America yesterday horizon welcomed a new space mission and I am very excited about the outcome. In my girlhood journey when I begin school and now at college I have been paying a lot of attention to studies but now I will also try to shine in extracurriculars and sports. The college has good quality furniture that was absent at school and also a great football ground. I made some new friends today and went to the mall with one of them. The mall had different clothing styles and I also got new clothes from that mall. My new friend David also helped me save much money with his bargaining skills. Among many friends, I think I will make him my best friend to spend my college days.
My Diary: 23rd May 2017
After returning from college I went to the shoe factory today with two children. I realized that buying things directly from factories saves money but there is limited variety there. I bought shoes for myself and the two children. I had a problem catching the first bus, therefore, I waited long hours for the next bus to arrive. I saw some children on the street asking for money and hoped everyone could receive free education. I also spent a good time in college, as I planned I joined our college football team and played as a defender. Teachers and fellow students are all very good but we all are still shy of each other. I am spending most of my time with David and hope to become best friends with him.

I eat my breakfast and then I eat my lunch in the school break time. I take my lunch with me. My mother is very aware of my food. She always cooks something interesting to me. I love eating Pizza and Burger, but she doesn’t buy me that kind of fast food.
She prefers to cook them for me. I love her cooked Pizza very much. And finally, after reading and watching TV at night at 10 o’clock, I go for my sleep. When I go to bed, I think about my entire day.
Holiday Routine:
When my school is close and I have lots of spare time, my daily routine becomes a bit different. I add time for video games, playing in the field with friends, and spending more time with my cousins.

Since my cousin was hospitalized, I decided to visit him. I took a bus at 8 o’clock which was very crowded because of the office hours. People were standing close to each other, and some were also hanging from the exit door as there was no space inside the bus. Even the senior citizens were standing as their seats were occupied by youngsters. There was an old lady who seemed to be sick, because of the heat and suffocation. I asked a young boy to stand up to provide her the seat. After sitting she drank some water and felt comfortable. Then, I helped her to get down from the bus. She thanked me and blessed me. I felt very happy that I had done some good deed.

I am very sad today. During the recess time, I saw a group of students littering in the school premises. They littered the corridors with plastic bags, foils, wrappers, etc. It was a very disappointing sight. I told them repeatedly not to litter and use the dustbin, but they did not listen to me. Not just this, even the playing field behind the classrooms was not spared by them. It looked no less than a garbage dump. I fail to understand how anyone can be so ignorant about his actions and its consequences. Sometimes, I feel disgusted that our environment has to suffer because of our bad habits.
I wish I could do something about it but my plan is to drop a letter in the suggestion box for the appointment of prefects to keep a check and ensure a clean environment at school. I hope things will get better due to my suggestions.

Today was such an exciting day. You know what, my team won the first prize the in ‘All India CBSE National Quiz Competition’. Not only this, but the cherry on the cake was also that the final round was telecast over the national channel. My parents were very happy and so were my teachers and friends. The quiz was on biodiversity. The preliminary rounds were not so easy. But I had very wise team members. We were the leading team in oral round as well. It was so much fun – with applause and praises. We had a cutthroat competition with two of the other schools but we came first which was unexpected, I was very elated. We received a trophy and a certificate. It was a very proud moment of my life.

My father has bought a new flat in Jamshedpur. He sold the village house at Murshidabad for his job transfer. It was really disappointing when I heard that we would go to a new residence. Here the children are not so friendly with me as I have come from a rural area. I go to the rooftop to enjoy the cloudlets floating in the sky. Hence every time I recall my good old days and I sob silently.

Therefore, I hesitate to speak in English before them. It is my heartfelt desire to improve my English-speaking skills but there is no good institute in my vicinity where I can improve my speaking skills. Therefore, my desire has not yet been fulfilled. I am very happy to share this wonderful experience with you. I had been practising day in and day out for the play participated in. Today was the final show. By the grace of God, everything went on well, I felt content when everyone praised our acting. I felt very lucky to have learnt controlled acting from such great and senior actors. My joy knew no bounds when a few days ago I saw my father coming home from office with a white puppy in his hands. I immediately ran towards him and took hold of the puppy. He is a German Spitz, all covered with white and golden coat. I named him Piya. I had never known till now that a pet can be so warm and affectionate. He is very playful and likes to spend his time playing with a ball. I give him milk, curd, chapati and dog food to eat. I take him for a walk twice a day. That is the time which he loves the most the moment I say, ‘Let’s go for a walk’, he starts showing his excitement. These words seem to be magic words.

Today was a busy day at work. I had a lot of meetings and deadlines to meet, which kept me on my toes all day. I felt a little bit stressed at times, but overall, I was able to stay focused and get everything done that needed to be done.
During my lunch break, I went for a walk around the park near my office. It was a beautiful day outside, and I felt grateful for the opportunity to get some fresh air and sunshine. As I walked, I listened to a podcast about mindfulness and tried to focus on being present in the moment.
After work, I met up with a friend for dinner. We caught up on each other’s lives and talked about our plans for the future. It was nice to have some social time after a busy day at work.
Before bed, I took some time to reflect on the day. I thought about the things that went well and the areas where I could improve. I also wrote down some goals for tomorrow, including getting up a little bit earlier and taking a few moments to meditate before starting my day.

Next time, I hope to remember to pause and take a few deep breaths while I remind myself that the traffic was out of my control. I couldn’t have predicted the delay, and I did the best I could under the circumstances. I also need to remember that being late once doesn’t make me a bad employee.
In the future, I’ll try to leave earlier to avoid getting stuck in traffic, but I also know that sometimes unexpected delays happen, and it’s important to be kind and patient with myself when they do.

Symptoms: I’ve been experiencing some lower back pain and occasional leg cramps. I also noticed that my appetite has increased lately.
Emotions: I’m feeling excited and nervous at the same time. The thought of becoming a parent is still sinking in, but I’m also looking forward to meeting my little one.
Overall, it’s been a great day filled with so much joy and excitement. I can’t wait to continue to document our journey in this pregnancy journal and look back on these special moments for years to come.
Notes: I need to start thinking about childbirth classes and making a birth plan. I also want to start looking for a pediatrician soon.

I've long been inspired by an idea I first learned about in The Artist's Way called morning pages. Morning pages are three pages of writing done every day, typically encouraged to be in "long hand", typically done in the morning, that can be about anything and everything that comes into your head. It's about getting it all out of your head, and is not supposed to be edited or censored in any way. The idea is that if you can get in the habit of writing three pages a day, that it will help clear your mind and get the ideas flowing for the rest of the day. Unlike many of the other exercises in that book, I found that this one actually worked and was really really useful.
I've used the exercise as a great way to think out loud without having to worry about half-formed ideas, random tangents, private stuff, and all the other things in our heads that we often filter out before ever voicing them or writing about them. It's a daily brain dump. Over time, I've found that it's also very helpful as a tool to get thoughts going that have become stuck, or to help get to the bottom of a rotten mood.
750 Words is the online, future-ified, fun-ified translation of this exercise. Here's how it works:
★ All online and private
In the past, looking for a spare notebook was probably easier than looking for a computer. Not anymore. I don't know if my hands even work anymore with pen and paper for any task that takes longer than signing a check or credit card receipt.
★ It's not blogging or status updating
I've tried writing my 750 words a day on Livejournal, Wordpress, PBWorks, Tumblr, and all of these other sites designed around putting content online. It hasn't worked for me. I fear that I might accidentally forget to mark daily pages as private. And it's just weird having my private brain dumps out on various sites that are designed to be more social. I don't need to title my entries, or tag them, or enable comments, or any of that other stuff. This is writing, and it's online, but it's not blogging, or Twittering, or Facebook status updating. This is between you and you.
★ 3 Pages = 750 words
I looked this up. 250 words per page is considered to be the standard accepted number of words per page. So, three standard pages are about 750 words. Of course if 750words.com hadn't been available, I would've totally found a way to prove that 249 words per page was the accepted standard. It really just comes down to the fact that this amount of writing feels about right. You can't just fart out 3 pages without running into your subconscious a little bit... 750 words takes a bit of effort, and it never fails to get me typing things that I have wanted to articulate without realizing it. And that's the point.
Because 750 words is nothing to sneeze at, it's also nice to have an easy way to know how many words you have to go. This site of course tracks your word count at all times and lets you know when you've passed the blessed 750 mark. And it gives you a nice big screen to write on, automatically scrolls as you write (like a typewriter), and automatically saves your writing as you go.
★ It's fun
Every month you get a clean slate. If you write anything at all, you get 1 point. If you write 750 words or more, you get 2 points. If you write two, three or more days in a row, you get even more points. It's fun to try to stay on streaks and the points are a way to play around with that. You can also see how others are doing points-wise if you're at all competitive that way. How I see it, points can motivate early on, and eventually the joy of writing will kick in and you'll be writing without any external motivation at all.
★ Learn about yourself in the process
For example, learn about how often you get distracted, and how fast you write.
Every day you write, you'll get beautiful stats that analyze the feelings, themes, and mindset of your words.
★ It's about writing, and getting into your brain
The rest are just tricks to help get us there.

Tips for Writing a Diary
- The word limit of a diary entry is 150 words. Everything you wish to say should be encompassed within this limit.
- Remember that a diary entry is not a documentary. Include only those things which were the highlight of the day.
- Spend a few moments going over the entire day and categorising the events which affected you the most.
- Focus on the emotions, feelings and thoughts that the day’s event(s) triggered.
- Use a personal confessional tone as the entry is a record of your personal life and past.
- Maintain the correct chronological order while noting things. Avoid skipping from one thought to the other.
- An anticipatory note at the end of the entry and looking forward to the following day is a good way of concluding an entry.
- Use grammatically correct sentences and avoid spelling mistakes. Also, avoid using long complex sentences.

I am very sorry for not writing to you last night. I was extremely tired after enjoying the entire day at Shangrila Resort. I could not even keep my eyes open. The place was so huge that by the end of the day we still felt like we did not see the entire place. It had one large pool for adults, two pools for children over 10 years, and a really shallow yet very cute pool for small children. There was a large waterfall as well. The entire place was surrounded by grass and trees. It felt as if we were in a real jungle. They also had speakers hidden in the trees giving sound effects of wild animals. The food too was fresh and filling. It gave us the energy to go on playing. We had a great time and wished we could stay there forever.

Struggle for Admission
Our board exam results have not yet been declared and already the news of malpractice is making the rounds. There are cases of attempted bribery reported for admissions into esteemed colleges. Such news is really very disheartening. Especially when coupled with the various reservation schemes already existing. This leaves no scope for children like me who do not fit in any minority groups nor can sum up large amounts for donation. This is a very serious problem, and I am really threatened by it. Even if the malpractices are ignored or hushed up, as very often they will be, the fact that these students will not excel in their courses is inevitable, thus causing a loss of the country’s resources employed in their training. I do not know what to look forward to anymore. I just hope and pray that such practices are tracked and nipped in the bud.

A Strange Dream
Last night, I had a very strange dream. I saw that two of my friends and I were going to attend my cousin’s wedding reception. On our way a rather strange-looking man intercepted us. Despite our protests, he insisted on narrating to us his tale of resentment. He looked unnaturally old with skinny limbs and glittering eyes, and the tale he narrated seemed too surreal to be true. He said he used to be a mariner who shot an innocent albatross who was guiding their ship out of the perilous ice at sea. This act enraged a powerful spirit who used to love the bird. His actions resulted in the death of his crewmates. Also, he was doomed to feel a great deal of agony which was relieved only when he narrated the tale to somebody. The dream taught me a valuable lesson: Never hurt the hand which helps you.

They intrigued me a lot as I could never imagine people giving up everything valuable to them for the nation and its people. These people are models of inspiration, especially in today’s day and age. The chief concern of every person these days is limited to his own luxuries and to that of his family. This has to change. As we see through history, progress can be achieved only when people give up their own interests in favour of the betterment of the larger society. The freedom fighters did their part in the struggle for our independence. It is our duty now to safeguard this freedom handed to us as a gift. We need to learn from them the value of selfless service and perseverance to do our part and give back to our country for the love and care we receive.

Tomorrow is the judgment day as they call it—the elocution competition that I have been preparing for all these days. I will be participating in it tomorrow. Just the thought of it has me shaken. My class teacher knows my insecurities about speaking to crowds. Maybe that’s why she forced me to take this up. I wonder what will happen tomorrow. I prepared a fairly good speech with my elder brother’s help. I am proud of him, though I will never admit it to him. He has a good command of the language. He is confident that I will do a good job. I hope I do. I’ve already practised it so many times that I can recite it in my sleep. I have to go to sleep now or else I will be late for school.

We have hidden cameras all around this place to monitor his progress and to come to his aid should he face any fatal difficulties. This will be the most difficult activity since the resources we will be leaving behind are very limited. He has to collect all of them and use them to the best of his abilities putting the training he received to good use. His excellence in all the tests before this has brought him so far. Nothing but the best is expected to come from him.

Today was my first day at school. Since we recently shifted to this city, everything here is new to me. It is a little difficult and often frustrating to get adjusted to everything, especially the people. The school was great though. For the most part, the day was uneventful, except for my being asked to introduce myself over and over again by every teacher that came. I made a few new friends too. Raman, my bench partner, plays football. He invited me to play with him after school but I had to decline since I hadn’t informed mom. I will go tomorrow though. I am sure I’ll have great fun. I have already begun to like this place.

Today my father sent me all alone to the bank. He called me this morning and asked me to get his passbook updated. When I heard him I panicked for a moment. But the look in his eyes told me that he trusted me with the job. This brought me immense joy and I set out to prove him right. I had been to the bank many times before but never alone and surely never to get a job done. Once I stepped in, I regretted not paying attention to my dad when I accompanied him. I had to spend some time asking around to figure out how to get a passbook updated. A kind man showed me what exactly I had to do and I got the job done. I returned home to the treatment of my favourite milkshake. I will never forget this trip to the bank.

We arrived at EsselWorld at about 9.30 AM today. Our school had booked the entire place so there were no outsiders. Since all the students in our school had come for the picnic, the place looked like a second school, but one where we could have a lot of fun. There were so many rides that we were sure to miss at least a few by the end of the day. As the school had arranged everything in advance, we did not have to pay for anything, even the rides. I enjoyed the pendulum and the rainbow the most. The food was delicious and filling too. There were a few handicrafts on sale. I bought a jute handbag for my mom. It was the best picnic I have ever attended. I would love to go there again.

Today was the worst day of my life. It was as if I had woken up from the wrong side of the bed. To begin with, I was late for school since there was no water supply in the morning. If all this was not enough, I was scolded by Miss Amera for not carrying my Math test book and the funny part is that the book was actually in my bag. Only I couldn’t find it during the class. I cannot understand how so many incidents could occur in one single day. There must be something seriously wrong with me. The sad part is that I could not control what happened. The Surprising Benefits of Journaling One Sentence Every Day
From 1986 to 2011, Oprah Winfrey hosted The Oprah Winfrey Show . It was the highest rated talk show of all-time and familiar to nearly anyone who owned a television set in North America at that time.
Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, the “Queen of All Media” built a brand that stretched far beyond the television screen. She went on to become a billionaire, a well-regarded philanthropist, and a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom. And as she was busy working toward these otherworldly accomplishments, Oprah relied on a simple habit: journaling.
Journaling is simply the act of thinking about your life and writing it down. That’s it. Nothing more is needed. But despite its simplicity, the daily journal has played a key role in the careers of many prolific people.
As you might expect, journaling is a favorite habit of many writers. From Mark Twain to Virginia Woolf, Francis Bacon to Joan Didion, John Cheever to Vladimir Nabokov. 1 A journal was rarely far from any of these artists. Susan Sontag once claimed that her journal was where she “created herself.” 2
Journaling has been utilized by scores of brilliant thinkers and inventors. Charles Darwin. Marie Curie. Leonardo da Vinci. Thomas Edison. Albert Einstein. 3 Similarly, leaders and politicians throughout history have kept journals in one form or another. People like George Washington, Winston Churchill, and Marcus Aurelius. 4 In the sporting world, athletes like Katie Ledecky, winner of multiple gold medals, and Eliud Kipchoge, the world record holder in the marathon, rely on journals to reflect on their daily workouts and improve their training. 5
Why have so many of history’s greatest thinkers spent time journaling? What are the benefits?
What Journaling Can Do for You
Nearly anyone can benefit from getting their thoughts out of their head and onto paper. There are more benefits to journaling than I have time to cover here, but allow me to point out a few of my favorites.
Journaling provides the opportunity to learn new lessons from old experiences. When looking back on her previous journal entries, Virginia Woolf remarked that she often “found the significance to lie where I never saw it at the time.” 6
Reading your old journal entries is a bit like reading a great book for a second time. You pick up on new sentences and see the past in a different way. Only this time, you are re-reading the story of your life.
Journaling sharpens your memory. When Cheryl Strayed wrote her hit book, Wild , she relied heavily on her journal. She recalled, “My journal provided the who, what, how, when, and why with a specificity that memory might have blurred, but it also did something more: it offered me a frank and unvarnished portrait of myself at 26 that I couldn’t have found anywhere else.” 7
Time will change your face without you noticing, but it will also change your thoughts without you realizing it. Our beliefs shift slowly as we gain experience and journal entries have the ability to freeze your thoughts in time. Seeing an old picture of yourself can be interesting because it reminds you of what you looked like, but reading an old journal entry can be even more surprising because it reminds you of how you thought.
Journaling motivates you to make the most of each day. There is something about knowing that your day will be recorded that makes you want to make at least one good choice before the sun sets. I will sometimes find myself thinking, “I want to have something good to write down tonight.”
Journaling provides proof of your progress. Writing down one sentence about what went well today gives you something powerful to look at when you’re feeling down. When you have a bad day, it can be easy to forget how much progress you have made. But with a journal, it’s easier to keep a sense of perspective. One glance at your previous entries and you have proof of how much you have grown over the months and years.
Of course, despite the numerous benefits of journaling, there is one problem.
Many people like the idea of journaling, but few people stick with the act of journaling. It sounds great in theory, but making it a habit is another matter.
This is where we return to Oprah’s story.
The Challenge of Making Journaling a Habit
In November 2012, after wrapping up her 25-year television career, Oprah wrote, “For years I’ve been advocating the power and pleasure of being grateful. I kept a gratitude journal for a full decade without fail—and urged you all to do the same. Then life got busy. My schedule overwhelmed me. I still opened my journal some nights, but my ritual of writing down five things I was grateful for every day started slipping away.” 8
She picked up one of her old journals.
“I wondered why I no longer felt the joy of simple moments,” Oprah said. “Since 1996 I had accumulated more wealth, more responsibility, more possessions; everything, it seemed, had grown exponentially—except my happiness. How had I, with all my options and opportunities, become one of those people who never have time to feel delight? I was stretched in so many directions, I wasn’t feeling much of anything. Too busy doing.”
She admitted, “But the truth is, I was busy in 1996, too. I just made gratitude a daily priority. I went through the day looking for things to be grateful for, and something always showed up.”
Most people know that journaling is helpful, but they never get around to making it a priority. How can we make journaling frictionless? What is the simplest way that to get the benefits of journaling without it feeling like another obligation?
How to Make Journaling Easy
I’ve spent a fair bit of time thinking about how to make journaling easy over the past year. In fact, I thought so much about it that I partnered with the premium notebook maker Baron Fig to create the Clear Habit Journal —a combination dot grid notebook, daily journal, and habit tracker that not only makes it easier to journal, but also easier to build any habit.
But before I start hawking my wares, let’s get something straight.
Here’s the truth: There’s no one “right” way to journal. You can do it wherever you want and in whatever way you want. All you need is a piece of paper or a blank document. However, although there is no right way to journal, there is an easy way to journal…
Write one sentence per day.
The primary advantage of journaling one sentence each day is that it makes journaling fun . It’s easy to do. It’s easy to feel successful. And if you feel good each time you finish journaling, then you’ll keep coming back to it.
A habit does not have to be impressive for it to be useful.
Journaling Prompts That Make Journaling Easy
Let’s talk about the process I designed to make journaling a cinch.
Every Habit Journal is designed to make the process of keeping a daily journal as easy as possible. It starts with a section called One Line Per Day.
At the top of each One Line Per Day page is space for a journaling prompt. Here are a few examples of journaling prompts you could use:
- What happened today? (Daily journal) 9
- What am I grateful for today? (Gratitude journal)
- What is my most important task today? (Productivity journal)
- How did I sleep last night? (Sleep journal)
- How do I feel today? (Mood journal)
Underneath the prompt are 31 lines. One line for each day of the month. This is where you’ll write your one sentence each day.
To start your journaling habit all you have to do is write your prompt for the month and jot down a few words each day. Once the month is complete, you can look back on 31 beautiful journal entries. The entire experience is designed to make journaling so easy that you can’t help but do it each day.

Where to Go From Here
When a habit feels like an annoyance, you’re unlikely to stick with it.
Journaling doesn’t need to be a big production. Just write one sentence about what happened during the day. Whether you use my habit journal or not is beside the point.
What matters is that you make it easy to show up. As Madeleine L’Engle, author of A Wrinkle in Time , put it: “Just write a little bit every day.” 10

There are all different types of diaries, like food diaries , health diaries or academic diaries . But your diary doesn’t have to be specific if you don’t want it to be, it can also just be a place where you write about whatever you want. If you’re just getting started, maybe you haven’t decided what you want to write about, and that’s fine. That is what we are here for – to help you with all those moments of writer’s block you may be having. Our tips can help guide you and inspire you. Let’s begin!
How to Start a Diary
To start a diary, all you need is a willingness to write. Start by figuring out what you want to write in your journal. If you aren’t sure, simply start writing and see where that leads. It can also be useful to set a time limit in your early writing sessions. Set an alarm for 10 to 20 minutes and start writing.
Keeping a diary is a great way to record your growth and personal development. More entries will allow you to look back and see what has changed over time. The earlier you start, the more grateful you will be later on.
8 Tips When Starting a Diary
Writing can be hard and getting started is usually the hardest part. If you feel like you don’t know how to write a diary entry, don’t stress over it. You can start writing about anything. You can even write about how you can’t think of anything to write. Once you start getting words out, they will start to flow naturally.
1. Decide to write
First, you need to decide you want to start a diary. Once you have decided you want to dedicate time to creating a diary, starting one will be easy.
2. Decide what to write
This is definitely the hardest part when writing a diary, but it is probably the most important. If you want your diary to be specific, decide what topic you would like to discuss during your entries. You can create multiple diaries for different topics, or just have one diary that has everything. Generally, diaries are personal and private thoughts, but they can also be a great way to keep track of personal musings on anything you would like:
These are just a few ideas to get you started, but if you would rather keep your diary more general, it is totally up to you!
3. Create a schedule
Starting a diary requires that you write in it frequently, but it is up to you to decide how frequently you want to write in it. Whether it be once a day or once a week, create a schedule that you can adhere to. The more you can make writing in your diary a part of your routine, the more comprehensive and helpful a practice it will become.
When you have decided what you want write in your diary, decide on a writing schedule that is appropriate for the topic. For example, if you want your diary to be general, maybe you want to decide to write in it at a certain time everyday, like right before you go to bed. If you want your writings to be more specific, like about food, maybe you will write in it every time you cook or find a new recipe. Make your schedule work for you and your topic.
4. Set a time limit
It is easy to get carried away and write too much when diary writing. A way to stay concise and on track is to set a time limit for your writing. Depending on how much you want to write, set a time limit that reflects that. Somewhere between 30 minutes and an hour is ideal. If you feel like you want to spend more time than that, feel free.
5. Date your entries
The great thing about a diary is that you are able to look back through it and see how you have progressed over time. It is important to date every entry you write. Luckily, Penzu dates your entries automatically.
6. Create an introductory entry
For your first diary entry, try to write an introduction to what your diary will be about. Introduce yourself, what things interest you, what you think it important and what you want this dairy to be about. Open up and be yourself.

- Suppressing your feelings in your journal entries will make the experience of writing less satisfying. Since you are writing for yourself alone, you should feel free to explore your thoughts and feelings in a deep and substantial way, without fear of judgement.
