ਮੇਰੇ ਸਕੂਲ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਰਵੋਦਿਆ ਹਾਇਰ ਸੈਕੰਡਰੀ ਸਕੂਲ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਇਕ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਸਕੂਲ ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਚੰਗਾ ਸਕੂਲ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਦਸਵੀਂ ਜਮਾਤ ਵਿਚ ਪੜ੍ਹਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਸਕੂਲ ਮੇਰੇ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਪੈਦਲ ਸਕੂਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਉਥੇ ਜਾਣ ਲਈ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦਸ ਮਿੰਟ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਇਹ ਇਕ ਵੱਡਾ ਸਕੂਲ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਤਕਰੀਬਨ ਪੰਜਾਹ ਕਲਾਸਰੂਮ, ਦਫਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਵੱਡੀ ਲਾਇਬ੍ਰੇਰੀ ਹੈ। ਲਾਇਬ੍ਰੇਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਹਰ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਹਨ। ਅਸੀਂ ਉਥੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਧਿਐਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ਅਸੀਂ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਵੀ ਉਧਾਰ ਲੈ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ ‘। ਇੱਥੇ ਰਸਾਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਖਬਾਰ ਵੀ ਸਨ ਇਹ ਇਕ ਸਹਿ-ਵਿਦਿਅਕ ਸਕੂਲ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਕੁੜੀਆਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਹਨ। ਸਕੂਲ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡਾ ਖੇਡ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਅਸੀਂ ਇੱਥੇ ਗੇਮਾਂ ਖੇਡਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ਫੁਟਬਾਲ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਨਪਸੰਦ ਖੇਡ ਹੈ।

ਸਾਡੇ ਸਕੂਲ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਦਵਾਨ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਬੁੱਧੀਮਾਨ, ਚੁਸਤ ਅਤੇ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੇਟੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਧੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਉਹ ਅਨੁਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਬਾਰੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਖਤ ਹੈ। ਇੱਥੇ ਲਗਭਗ 45 ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ, ਇੱਥੇ ਦਫਤਰ ਦਾ ਸਟਾਫ ਅਤੇ ਚਪੜਾਸੀ ਆਦਿ ਹਨ। ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਉੱਚ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਅਤੇ ਤਜ਼ਰਬੇਕਾਰ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਉਣ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਰੁਚੀ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਕੂਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਵੀ ਦਿਲਚਸਪੀ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਾਡੀ ਕਲਾਸ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਕੁਮਾਰੀ ਨੀਲੀਮਾ ਪੁਰੋਹਿਤ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਹਿੰਦੀ ਸਿਖਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਇਕ ਬੁੱਧੀਮਾਨ ਔਰਤ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਅਕਸਰ ਸਾਡੀਆਂ ਵਿਦਿਅਕ ਅਤੇ ਨਿੱਜੀ ਸਮੱਸਿਆਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੱਲ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ।

ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਕੂਲ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਦਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਮੇਰੇ ਸਕੂਲ ਦੀ ਇਕ ਮਾਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਪਰੰਪਰਾ ਹੈ। ਇਥੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਹੈਰਾਨਕੁਨ ਸ਼ਖਸੀਅਤਾਂ, ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰੀ ਬਣਾਏ ਗਏ ਹਨ।

ਸਕੂਲ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਥਾਂ ਹੈ ਜਿਥੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਕੁੱਝ ਸਿੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਮਲੀ ਰੂਪ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਸਕੂਲ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਕੋਰੀ ਸਲੇਟ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਲੇਕਿਨ ਸਕੂਲ ਆਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਸਲੇਟ ਰੂਪੀ ਦਿਮਾਗ ਤੇ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਅੱਖਰ ਛੱਪ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਕਿ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਮਿਟਾਏ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ ।

ਮੇਰੇ ਸਕੂਲ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ............ .............ਹੈ । ਇਹ ਸਕੂਲ ਐਨ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਸਥਿਤ ਹੈ । ਸਕੂਲ ਦੇ ਹਰ ਕਮਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੱਖੇ ਲੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਕਮਰੇ ਖੁੱਲੇ ਤੇ ਹਵਾਦਾਰ ਹਨ । ਸਾਡਾ ਸਕੂਲ ਨਰਸਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਬਾਰੂਵੀਂ ਜਮਾਤ ਤੱਕ ਹੈ । ਇਥੇ ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ 4 ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਦੇ ਕਰੀਬ ਹੈ । ਹਰ ਜਮਾਤ ਦੇ 8, 6 ਸੈਕਸ਼ਨ ਹਨ ।

ਮੇਰੇ ਸਕੂਲ ਦਾ ਸਟਾਫ਼ (ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਸਾਹਿਬਾਨ) ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਮਿਹਨਤੀ ਹਨ । ਸਾਰੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਉੱਚ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹਨ । ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਤਜ਼ੁਰਬੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਮੇਂ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੇ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ।

ਮੇਰੇ ਸਕੂਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਕ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡੀ ਲਾਇਬਰੇਰੀ ਹੈ । ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਪਈਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਹਨ । ਇਹ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਵੱਖ ਵੱਖ ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬੰਧਤ ਹਨ । ਇਥੇ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਨ ਗਿਆਨ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਦੀ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਗਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ । ਇਸ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਦੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬੰਧਤ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਵੱਖ ਵੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਯੋਗਸ਼ਾਲਾਵਾਂ ਵੀ ਬਣੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਹਨ। ਇਹਨਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਯੋਗਸ਼ਾਲਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰੈਕਟੀਕਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਨਵੀਆਂ ਖੋਜਾਂ ਵੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ।

ਸਾਡੇ ਸਕੂਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਇਕ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡਾ ਸਟੇਡੀਅਮ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ । ਇਸ ਸਟੇਡੀਅਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਵੱਖ ਵੱਖ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਖੇਡਦੇ ਹਨ । ਇਹ ਸਟੇਡੀਅਮ ਸਾਡੇ ਸਕੂਲ ਨੂੰ ਦੋ ਹਿੱਸਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੰਡਦਾ ਹੈ । ਇਹ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਪਾਇਮਰੀ ਵਿੰਗ ਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਵਿੰਗ ਦਾ ਹੈ ।

ਮੇਰੇ ਸਕੂਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਕ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡਾ ਪਾਰਕ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ । ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਖ ਵੱਖ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਫੁੱਲ ਪੌਧੇ ਲੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ । ਇਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਸਾਡੇ ਇਥੇ ਇਕ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਰੂਮ ਵੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਥੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਨਵੀ ਤਕਨੀਕ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਣੂ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ । ਇਹਨਾਂ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਲ ਇਕ ਮਿਊਜ਼ਿਕ ਰੂਮ ਵੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਥੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਡਾਂਸ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਗੀਤ ਦੀ ਟਰੇਨਿੰਗ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ।

ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਖਾਣ ਪੀਣ ਲਈ ਇਕ ਕੰਨਟੀਨ ਵੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਥੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਅੱਧੀ ਛੁੱਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁੱਝ ਨਾ ਕੁੱਝ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ । ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਕੂਲ । ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਕੂਲ ਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਕਰ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ ।

ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਾਬਦਿਕ ਅਰਥ ਹੈ “ਪੰਜ ਆਬ' ਭਾਵ ਪੰਜਾਂ ਪਾਣੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ।ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਸਤਲੁਜ, ਰਾਵੀ, ਬਿਆਸ, ਚਨਾਬ ਤੇ ਜਿਹਲਮ ਪੰਜ ਦਰਿਆ ਵਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ।ਦੇਸ ਦੀ ਵੰਡ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਪੱਛਮੀ ਭਾਗ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਲਾ ਗਿਆ ਪਰ ਫਿਰ ਵੀ ਪੰਜਾਬ, ਪੰਜਾਬ ਹੀ ਹੈ।ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਬਣਨ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਬਹੁਤ ਦੂਰ-ਦੂਰ ਤੱਕ ਫੈਲੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ। ਅਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਹਿੱਸੇ 13-14 ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਹੀ ਆਏ ਤੇ 18 ਜਾਂ 19 ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿ ਗਏ। 1966 ਈ: ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਵੰਡ ਹੋਈ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਫਿਰ ਕੁਝ ਇਲਾਕਾ ਹਿਮਾਚਲ ਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਹਰਿਆਣਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿਲ ਗਿਆ।ਹੁਣ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਖੇਤਰਫਲ ਲਗਪਗ 5028 ਹੈਕਟੇਅਰ ਹੈ।ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦਾ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਬੜਾ ਗੌਰਵਮਈ ਹੈ। ਇੱਥੇ ਵੇਦ ਰਚੇ ਗਏ ਤੇ ਇਹ ਗੁਰੂਆਂ, ਪੀਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਰਿਸ਼ੀਆਂ-ਮੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਧਰਤੀ ਹੈ।

ਪਹਿਰੇਦਾਰ

ਮੇਰੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀ ਖੜਗ ਭੁਜਾ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਉੱਤਰ-ਪੱਛਮੀ ਸਰਹੱਦ 'ਤੇ ਸਥਿਤ ਹੈ। ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਯੁੱਧਾਂ, ਜੰਗਾਂ ਤੇ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਵਾਸਤਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਆਪਣੀ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਭੂਗੋਲਿਕ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਕਾਰਨ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਹਮਲਾਵਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਪੰਜਾਬੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਕਰਨਾ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ।ਇਸੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਹੀ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਕੌਮ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਤੇ ਬੇਪ੍ਰਵਾਹ ਹੈ।

ਖੇਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ( Agricultural President )

ਮੇਰਾ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਖੇਤੀਬਾੜੀ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਦੇਸ ਵਿਦੇਸਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਣਕ, ਚਾਵਲ, ਮੱਕੀ ਤੇ ਕਈ ਹੋਰ ਅਨਾਜ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇੱਥੋਂ ਦੇ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਬੜੇ ਮਿਹਨਤੀ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਦਿਨ-ਰਾਤ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਅੰਨ ਦੇ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਢੇਰ ਸਾਰਾ ਵਾਧਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਇੱਥੋਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਨੂੰ ਉਪਜਾਊ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਨ ਦਾਤਾ ਕਹਿ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਅਤਿਕਥਨੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ। ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦਾ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਅਨਾਜ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਬਹੁਤ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਬੋਲੀ ( Punjabi language )

ਮੇਰੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਬੋਲੀ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਹੈ। ਇਥੇ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜ-ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਦਾ ਦਰਜਾ ਦੁਆਇਆ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸ਼ਹਿਦ ਵਰਗੀ ਮਿੱਠੀ ਤੇ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਬੋਲੀ ਹੈ।ਪੰਜਾਬੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਬੋਲੀ 'ਤੇ ਬੜਾ ਮਾਣ ਹੈ।ਇਹ ਸਾਡੀ ਮਾਂ-ਬੋਲੀ ਹੈ। ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਾਂ-ਬੋਲੀ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਤੋਂ ਮੂੰਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੋੜਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਤੇ ਮਾਣ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਵੀਰ-ਬਹਾਦਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ( The land of the brave )

ਮੇਰਾ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵੀਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਭੂਮੀ ਹੈ। ਸੰਸਾਰ ਜੇਤੂ ਸਿਕੰਦਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਜਿੱਤਣ ਲਈ ਆਇਆ ਤੇ ਇੱਥੋਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਪੋਰਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੂੰਹ ਤੋੜ ਜਵਾਬ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਨਸਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਮਹਾਨ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ, ਕਰਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਰਾਭਾ, ਊਧਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਤੇ ਲਾਲਾ ਲਾਜਪਤ ਰਾਏ ਆਦਿ ਦੇਸ-ਭਗਤਾਂ ਨੇ ਇੱਥੇ ਜਨਮ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਦੇਸ ਦੀ ਅਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਲਈ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀਆਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ। ਪੰਜਾਬ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੂਰਬੀਰਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਮਾਣ ਰਹੇਗਾ।

ਗੁਰੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਧਰਤੀ ( The holy land of the Gurus )

ਮੇਰੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਗੁਰੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਛੂਹ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਲਾਮਾਲ ਹੈ। ਦਸਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਦਾ ਮਾਣ ਵਧਾਇਆ। ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ, ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ, ਮਹਾਰਾਜਾ ਰਣਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ, ਬਾਬਾ ਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਆਦਿ ਮਹਾਪੁਰਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਇੱਥੇ ਹੀ ਹੋਇਆ। ਇੱਥੇ ਹਰ ਸਾਲ ਗੁਰਪੁਰਬ ਮਨਾਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂਆਂ ਦਾ ਬੜਾ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।ਉਹ ਬਾਣੀ ਰੂਪੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਿੱਜੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ੁਲਮ ਦਾ ਟਾਕਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਤੱਤਪਰ ਹਨ।

ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਨਾਚ ( Leading dance )

ਗਿੱਧਾ ਤੇ ਭੰਗੜਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਨਾਚ ਹਨ।ਢੋਲ 'ਤੇ ਡੱਗਾ ਵੱਜਦੇ ਸਾਰ ਪੰਜਾਬੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰ ਥਿਰਕਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਮੁਟਿਆਰਾਂ ਗਿੱਧਾ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਹਿਲਾ ਦਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਵਿਆਹ-ਸ਼ਾਦੀਆਂ ਜਾਂ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਮੌਕੇ 'ਤੇ ਭੰਗੜੇ, ਗਿੱਧੇ ਖ਼ੂਬ ਧੁੰਮਾਂ ਮਚਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।ਪੰਜਾਬੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਇਹ ਨਾਚ ਅੱਜ-ਕੱਲ੍ਹ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਪੱਧਰ 'ਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮਣਾ ਖੱਟ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹਨ। ਵਿਦੇਸੀ ਤੇ ਹਿੰਦੀ ਜਾਂ ਹੋਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਂਤਕ ਫ਼ਿਲਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਨਾਚਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਕਰਨਾ ਸਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਾਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ।

ਵੱਡੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਤੇ ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰ ( Business at the big city )

ਪੰਜਾਬ ਨੂੰ 22 ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੰਡਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਜਲੰਧਰ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ, ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ, ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਤੇ ਬਠਿੰਡਾ ਆਦਿ ਮਹਾਨਗਰ ਕਹਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਹੌਜ਼ਰੀ ਦੇ ਸਾਮਾਨ ਲਈ, ਜਲੰਧਰ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਨ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਤੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਦੇ ਵਪਾਰ ਲਈ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਭਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਹੈ। ਵਿਦੇਸਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਥੋਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਭਾਰੀ ਮੰਗ ਹੈ। ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਰਾਜਧਾਨੀ ਹੈ। ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਹਰਿਮੰਦਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਉੱਤਰ ਭਾਰਤ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਤੇ ਹਰਮਨ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਤੀਰਥ ਸਥਾਨ ਹੈ।

ਖੇਡ ਖੇਤਰ ( Sports field )

ਮੇਰੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਖਿਡਾਰੀ ਵੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ। ਮਿਲਖਾ ਸਿੰਘ, ਯੁਵਰਾਜ ਸਿੰਘ, ਹਰਭਜਨ ਸਿੰਘ, ਪਰਗਟ ਸਿੰਘ, ਸੁਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਤੇ ਨਵਜੋਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਿੱਧੂ ਆਦਿ ਨੇ ਦੇਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਉੱਚਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦਾ ਦਾਰਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਭਲਵਾਨ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਕਰਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਪਹਿਲਵਾਨੀ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਝੰਡੇ ਗੱਡੇ ਹਨ।

ਤਰੱਕੀ ਦਾ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨਾ ( Aim for progress )

ਮੇਰਾ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦਿਨੋ-ਦਿਨ ਖ਼ੂਬ ਤਰੱਕੀ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਇੱਥੋਂ ਦੇ ਮਿਹਨਤੀ ਤੇ ਉੱਦਮੀ ਲੋਕ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗੇ ਵੱਲ ਲਿਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ਹਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਜਿੰਨੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ ਕਰਾਂ ਓਨੀ ਥੋੜ੍ਹੀ ਹੈ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਸ 'ਤੇ ਬੜਾ ਮਾਣ ਹੈ, ਫ਼ਖਰ ਹੈ। ਇਸਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਸਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਇੱਕ ਕਵੀ ਲਿਖਦਾ ਹੈ :

“ਸੋਹਣੇ ਦੇਸਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਦੇਸ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਨੀ ਸਈਓ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਫੁੱਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਫੁੱਲ ਗੁਲਾਬ ਨੀ ਸਈਓ।"

ਇੰਜ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਭਾਰਤ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਂਤ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਾਂਤ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਵਿਲੱਖਣ ਜੀਵਨ ਜਾਚ ਹੈ। ਪੰਜਾਬੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਨਾਲ ਦੇਸ ਤੇ ਵਿਦੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਂ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ।ਦੇਸ 'ਤੇ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਭੀੜ ਬਣੇ ਤਾਂ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਮੋਢੀਆਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨਿਭਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।ਦੇਸ ਦੀ ਅਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਲੜਾਈਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜਾਬੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਸ਼ਹਾਦਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਸ ਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਾਣ ਵਧਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
