Lucknow University Starts Application For Admission To UG, PhD Programmes

The university of lucknow has started the application for admission to undergraduate (ug), ug professional and phd programmes at the university. candidates seeking admission can apply online at lkouniv.ac.in..

The University of Lucknow has started the application process for admission to undergraduate (UG), UG professional and PhD programmes at the university. The application window opened on Tuesday, March 9. Candidates seeking admission to UG, UG Professional and PhD programmes can apply online at lkouniv.ac.in.

For admission to undergraduate programmes for the academic year 2021-22, the online registration window will close on April 22. However, the university will allow the candidates to apply online with a late fee till April 27, 2021. Candidates seeking admission to UG programmes including BA, BA (Hons), BSc (Maths), BSc (Biology), BCom, BCom (Hons), Shastri, LLB (5 Years), BVA/BFA, BSc/ BSc Yoga, BVoc (Renewable Energy), BSc Agriculture and BJMC can apply online at the university website.

For admission to UG Professional programmes including BBA, BBA (IB), BBA (MS), BBA (Tourism) and BCA, students will be able to apply till April 22 and with a late fee till April 27, 2021.

Lucknow University PhD Admissions: जानिए लखनऊ यूनिवर्सिटी में PhD से जुड़ी सभी डिटेल्स.

Lucknow University PhD Seats: अगर आप पीएचडी करने की प्लानिंग कर रहे हैं और रेगुलर के अलावा पार्ट टाइम पीएचडी में दाखिला लेना चाहते हैं तो लखनऊ यूनिवर्सिटी आपको यह मौका दे रही है. दरअसल लखनऊ विश्वविद्यालय ने शैक्षणिक सत्र 2021- 22 की पीएचडी दाखिले (PhD Admissions) के लिए ऑनलाइन आवेदन फॉर्म जारी कर दिये हैं.  यूनिवर्सिटी ने पहली बार डिग्री कॉलेज के क्वालिफाइड टीचर्स को भी पीएचडी का मौका दिया है. कुल मिलाकर 1292 सीटें तय हुई हैं. सबसे ज्यादा एजुकेशन विषय में 158 और इंग्लिश में 103 सीटें रेगुलर पीएचडी के लिए हैं.  अभ्यर्थी यूनिवर्सिटी की वेबसाइट  www.lkouniv.ac.in  पर इस संबंध में बाकि जानकारी ले सकते हैं.

 लखनऊ यूनिवर्सिटी के रेगुलर और पार्ट टाइम पीएचडी (Part Time PhD) में वो अभ्यर्थी आवेदन कर सकते हैं जिन्होंने अकेडमिक सेशन 2020-21 में अपनी मास्टर्स पूरी की हो. आपको बता दें कि पीएचडी की वैकेंट सीट्स में अलग-अलग विषयों की रेगुलर पीएचडी के लिए 12 से 46 सीटें हैं. इसके अलावा पार्ट टाइम पीएचडी के लिए 46 सीटे हैं. 

 24 ऐसे सब्जेक्ट जिसमें नहीं है एक भी सीट

 जानकारी के मुताबिक पिछले सेशन में पहली बार पार्ट टाइम पीएचडी की शुरुआत की गई थी. इस साल इन सीटों में डिफेंस स्टडीज, फ्रेंच, अर्थशास्त्र, हिंदी और होम साइंस जैसे 2 विषय ऐसे हैं जिनमें एक भी सीट नहीं है.  सिर्फ 13 ऐसे विषय हैं जिनमें कुल 46 सीटों पर प्रवेश का मौका मिल रहा है.

University of Lucknow PhD Admission 2023-24 Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates for admission to the Ph.D programme shall have a Master’s degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions.
• A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non Abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time, or for those who had obtained their Master’s degree prior to 19th September, 1991. The eligibility marks of 55% (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible based only on the qualifying marks without including the grace mark procedures.
• Candidates possessing a Degree considered equivalent to M.Phil. Degree of an Indian Institution, from a Foreign Educational Institution accredited by an Assessment Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality standards of educational institutions, shall be eligible for admission to Ph.D. programme.
• All candidates who have applied will be allowed to appear in the entrance test.

Selection Procedure

• Admission will be based on Research Entrance Test (RET) followed by an interview.
• A candidate seeking admission to the PhD programme shall be required to have secured at least 50% marks in RET. There will be 5% relaxation in marks for OBC/SC/ST candidates i.e. 45% will be minimum qualifying marks for OBC/SC/ST candidates.
• The Entrance Test will consist of 50% of research methodology and 50% shall be subject specific.
• The syllabus of the subject specific part will be from the respective syllabus of PG Programs of the University of Lucknow.
• All candidates who qualify the RET with the minimum prescribed cut-off have to attend the interview.
• Candidates have to report for interview at the stipulated date and time which will be declared on the University website.

Merit List Preparation

• Final merit list will be based on marks obtained in the written test and interview.
• In the final merit candidates would be given a weightage of 70 % to the entrance test and 30% to the performance in the interview.

Part-Time PhD Programme

• For Part-time PhD check the conditions mentioned in the PhD Ordinance.
• A candidate has submitted a NOC from the Head of the Institution/Organization where he/she is employed.
• Part-time Ph.D. scholar will not be eligible for any fellowship/scholarship from any source.

A candidate must have at least five years of continuous service experience at a senior level in a recognized educational institutions/Union Government/State Government(s)/Armed Forces/PSUs or Corporations listed in BSE or NSE. Candidate must submit a certificate in this regard to the DRC.

Procedure for Part-Time PhD Admission

• For part-time PhD programme the final selection of candidates shall be based on a separate test.
• There will be 70 % weightage shall be given to a write-up of 1000 words submitted by the applicant and 30 % weightage on the Work Experience, Academic Index and performance in the Interview/viva voce.

University of Lucknow PhD Admission 2023-24 Application Process

Candidates can apply online at the official website of University of Lucknow.

It is the sole responsibility of the student to go through the updated PhD Ordinance of L.U. and check his/her eligibility while submitting the application. The eligibility will be verified by the University at the time of Counselling/Admission.

Requirements for Application Form Submission

• Valid Email ID
• Aadhaar No.
• Mobile number should be with the applicant at the time of form filling
• Login credentials (Registration Number & Password) will be sent on the registered Mobile Number and Email ID.
• Alternate Mobile Number  (Preferably of parent)
• Scanned Photo  in JPEG format (Maximum File Size is 50 KB)
• Scanned Signature  in JPEG format (Maximum File Size is 50 KB)
• Aadhaar Card
• Driving License

Application Fee

• Applicants who are eligible to avail the benefit of Economically Weaker Section (EWS) seats have to select ‘Yes’ on the ‘Personal Information’ page while filling the online application form. Along with this, to prove the authenticity of same, the related certificate has to be uploaded on the ‘Upload Document’ page which shall be issued by the Competent Authority.
• The reference number of Caste Certificate issued by the competent authority will have to be entered for availing the benefit of reservation for OBC, SC and ST applicants. Validity of these certificates will be verified from the Government website. Along with this, to prove the authenticity of same, the related certificate has to be uploaded on the ‘Upload Document’ page.
• Applicants of OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) category would require the following certificates:
• The Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Class candidates originally belonging to Uttar Pradesh will be given the benefit of reservation. Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Class candidates of other States will be treated as General.
• Applicants will have to enter the reference number of Income Certificate at the time of filling the online application form. Along with this, the certificate for this must be uploaded on ‘Upload Document’ page.
• Certificates whose details are not available on respective Government website will not be entertained.
• The applicants who do not have a valid income certificate issued by competent authority will not be given benefit of zero fees at the time of admission.

Steps for Application Form Filling

• Applicants have to fill the relevant details in the form. These fields cannot be edited later.
• Applicants will receive their login details in the mobile number and email ID provided at the time of registration.
• Applicants have to enter their personal details
• Enter the marks of all the subjects mentioned in the mark sheets
• Applicants have to upload their photo and scanned signature.
• Applicants can preview all the entries made at this point. If there is some error, they can edit it or start the entire process again. Once they have submitted the application fee, the data submitted in the registration page cannot be edited under any circumstances.
• If all the entries in the application form are correct, the applicant can submit the form and proceed for payment of the application fees.
• Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking
• Applicants can print their complete application form and fee receipt to complete the application process.
• Applicants have to retain a printout of their application form which will be needed later on.
• Applicants do not have to send the print out of the application form to the University.

Lucknow University: Students can change stream after passing entrance test

Students seeking admission to postgraduate (PG) courses at Lucknow University, Uttar Pradesh, will now have the option to change their stream from the new academic session 2024-25 if they succeed in the entrance examination, stated a report by IANS .

A candidate holding a graduation degree in Humanities can pursue Commerce or Science, and vice versa, under the new National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 adopted by the university.

Prof Geetanjali Mishra, Dean of Academics, said, "A student who has a BA or BCom degree can apply for MSc, and similar will be the case with other streams. Also, if a student has studied Humanities at the 10+2 level and graduation, he or she can study Science at the PG level. The only eligibility we have set to attain this multidisciplinary education is that a candidate should have a UG degree in any stream and should crack the university’s entrance test."

"We have adopted it under NEP, which aims to provide students with the flexibility of transitioning between different fields of study. Instead of compulsion and rules for studies, LU has given priority to the choice of the student," she said.

"The entrance test will be based on the syllabus of graduation only to test a candidate’s knowledge. The entrance test will have multiple-choice questions, and candidates will be required to answer 100 questions of one mark each," she added.
