Pretty average follow up although pt1 itself was average too. Started with a bang but totally messed up in the middle part. There's like atleast 20 minutes could have easily cut down to make it a decent flick. Yoo Hae-jin's family comedic bullshit made this film more like k-drama. Especially Yoonas role was uncalled for. The villain was steriotype and unlikeable here. Nothing else worth mentioning except some good hand to hand combat from Hyun Bin and the new entry of Daniel Hennery was good a pick too. And lastly Hyun Bin is pretty bad actor imao. Is he trying be korean Ryan Gosling?

To truly test my korean comprehension, I watched this in Korean with no subtitles. It was such a laugh trip, I feel like if I was completely fluent I would have found it even funnier. 

The action sequences were so unique and well choreographed. And the comedic timing was spot on. Although the plot towards the end was a bit predictable but the build up to the climax was good.

'Confidential Assignment 2: International' starring Hyun Bin and Yoona promises exciting new elements

Confidential Assignment 2: International, the sequel to the 2017 blockbuster, Confidential Assignment, is set to be released on September 7, 2022.

With less than a week to go until its big screen premiere, audiences are eager to see Hyun Bin and Girls Generation idol YoonA returning with new tricks up their sleeve. From fresh actors to a spicier story-line, the upcoming sequel promises to offer much more than the first installment of the franchise.

The upcoming sequel will also feature American actor Daniel Henney , who became a household name after his debut K-drama My Lovely Sam Soon. Henney will once again appear alongside his former co-star Hyun Bin.

Additionally, award-winning actor Jin Seon-kyu is also set to star in this movie as the main antagonist.

Confidential Assignment 2: International promises double the fun with multiple new elements

The 2017 release, Confidential Assignment , revolved around the bond between a North Korean detective named Rim Chul-ryung ( Hyun Bin ), and a South Korean detective named Kang Jin-tae (Yoo Hae-jin). The movie portrayed the synergy between the two detectives as they try to nab a mutual enemy.

The sequel to this, Confidential Assignment 2: International, promises the same thrill and intrigue alongside a bundle of new elements designed to make the upcoming movie double the fun. Here, we explore some of these elements.

Old characters, new quirks

For starters, the close friendship between Chul-ryung and Jin-tae will continue in Confidential Assignment 2: International. In the sequel, they will be seen reassembling to capture Jang Myung-joon (Jin Seon-Kyu), the leader of a violent criminal organization.

The two returning detectives will have some newer quirks added to their already interesting personalities. Chul-ryung has come back friendlier and more intelligent, whereas Jin-tae now boasts the unique appeal of being both comical and pathetic,

These detectives are joined by Min Young (YoonA), a beauty YouTuber and Jin-tae's spirited younger sister-in-law. In the upcoming sequel, Min Young is hysterically erratic, unconcerned with her daily salary of 100 won (about $0.07), and is perpetually caught up in a dream love triangle with Chul-ryung and an FBI agent named Jack.

However, what is interesting about this love triangle is that it is completely made up and involves neither of the two guys in reality.

A new character

The sequel will also touch upon the story of Jack, an FBI agent who flies all the way down to South Korea in search of the common enemy. As mentioned before, over the course of the film, Jack also gets entangled in Min Young's imaginary love triangle.

Both Min Young and Jack are brave, action-oriented characters who are expected to add to the thrill of the movie.Their disagreements and blunders, paired with all the other collaborative efforts throughout the film, promise to add both comic relief and tension to the tale.

Better action

Besides the characters, the intriguing plot of Confidential Assignment 2: International will be complemented with fresh and gripping action sequences.

The action intensity is expected to build from physical combat and eventually delve into gunfights, wire scenes, and automobile chase.

Confidential Assignment 2:International is scheduled to be released on September 7, 2022. during the Chuseok Holiday and is therefore expected to make a big premiere in national theaters.

Confidential Assignment 2: International

Story: Jang (Jin Sun-kyu) is a drug lord who was actually supposed to produce drugs on behalf of North Korea and sell them abroad in order to supply the country with a steady cash flow. But he defected and now lines his own pockets. North Korea also has a problem with the fact that Jang has a billion dollars that belong to them. They want the money back and so Lim Cheol-ryeong (Hyeon Bin) is sent to America, where the FBI captured Jang. The FBI's lead investigator Jack (Daniel Henney) is not at all happy that he has to give Jang to North Korea. However, when the prisoner is being handed over, there is a big shootout and Jang manages to escape. For reasons unknown to the North, Jang flees to South Korea and goes into hiding, were he also launches a new drug. Lim is sent to South Korea, where he is supposed to collaborate with Detective Kang Jin-tae (Yoo Hae-jin). The two have already solved a case together in the past, but despite their friendship, Kang is aware of the fact that Lim's loyalty lies with his own country. When Jack gets involved in the case too, it seems almost impossible for the parties to cooperate. Still, the three have no other choice but to share their knowledge with each other if they want to put a stop to Jang's activities - as the drug lord has already forged an extremely dangerous plan with which he wants to take revenge for the death of his family.

Review: If you don't have the best memory anyway, it's no surprise you cannot remember "Confidential Assignment" . Luckily, I can use my reviews as a memory aid, and I quickly realized that the first part was simply forgettable. That's why I was all the more surprised to see that there was a second installment in the first place, and even the more astonished that it was basically better in all respects too, so much so that it could actually be called a good movie. This is not only due to the excellent action (which was already pretty decent in the first part), but above all due to the humor, which works on a level that is not embarrassing at all - instead it's really entertaining. Moreover, the flat characters were fleshed out more and - also thanks to a third "buddy" - the direcctor finally managed to get the chemistry between the main characters right, which is something that didn't work in the first flick.

The reason why the movie has the subtitle "International", apart from the fact that the introduction is set in the USA, is the third person in the league. Daniel Henney ( "My Father" ) is the Korean Michael Wong. He almost always speaks English and only sporadically speaks Korean when it suits him. The fact that he always immediately scores points with women, mainly because of his appearance and masculinity, starts a nice competition between his character and that of Hyeon Bin. But that is not the only reason for tension between them, because - needless to say - all three protagonists are loyal to their own country and therefore always have to hide some information from the others. Of course, in a buddy movie like that, there just has to be some betrayal followed by remorse and redemption. Overall, it can be said that adding another character brings more dynamic to the movie and actually increases the level of entertainment.

Towards the end, however, there are still some nice action scenes, and again the level of violence contrasts the family movie atmosphere. A contrast that is actually quite pleasing this time. Action fans will also get their money's worth thanks to some gripping scenes, but it's mainly the humor that works really well in this sequel. The dialogues between the individuals are entertaining and create a pace and dynamics that make the 128 minutes fly by in an instant. Different to what we get to see in so many sequels, there is hardly anything over-the-top here, and thanks to the introduction of a third character into the bromance you can even watch the movie without needing any knowledge of the previous picture. Accordingly, "Confidential Assignment 2: International" has done everything right as a sequel. As a movie on its own, you don't get anything seriously new here, but what you get is some solid entertainment.

Introduction

Jang Myong-jun , the leader of a North Korean criminal organisation, is about to be transferred to Pyongyang when FBI agents are attacked by North Korean gangsters and Myong-jun flees. Because Myong-jun allegedly entered Seoul using a forged passport, the North Korean government dispatches Im Cheol-ryong to catch him. Kang Jin-tae meets Cheol-ryong and decides to resume the investigation to track down Myong-jun, but their work is thwarted by an FBI agent named Jack, who wants to bring the North Korean criminals back to the United States on charges of murdering FBI officials. They agree to expand the operation to a trilateral collaboration of Koreans and Americans. The plot hinges on how the trio captures Myong-jun .

This is a sequel to the action comedy Confidential Assignment (2017), and both Hyun Bin and Yoo Hae-Jin reprise their roles as Cheol-Ryung and Jin-Tae respectively. Yoona also returns as Jin-Tae’s sister-in-law, Park Min-young that has a crush on Cheol-Ryung . Daniel Henny's Jack , an American FBI agent, would be a new addition to the premise.

It's been a long time since we've seen such an entertaining package of action-comedy that includes action-packed choreography in addition to funny slapstick lines and scenes. From the beginning to the end, the film is packed with action and hilarious scenes that will undoubtedly brighten your day. There’s not a single dull moment in the show. Kudos to the director for the great action sequences and the brilliant use of slow-mo at the right timing that further enhances the impact of the scenes!  (Yes, the slow-mo here is really a highlight)

I really enjoy watching Hyun Bin, Yoo Hae-Jin , and Daniel Henny interact. Despite having very different personalities, this trio worked well together. All of their conversations are lighthearted, fresh, and funny, and they fit perfectly into a buddy-cop film like this. The charms of Hyun Bin and Daniel Henny are no joke, and female fans will enjoy them. In fact, the show is self-aware and has consistently emphasised their charms.  Yoo Hae-Jin , on the other hand, is a comedy genius who makes the audience laugh every time he appears!   Yoona should also be praised for her portrayal of an innocent yet love-hungry character in the show. She works well as a comedic actress, and I hope to see her in more of them.

The plot of the show is quite generic in the "cop hunts down baddies" style, but they have added a twist at the end. Some may have predicted this, but the story is overall very palatable and not overly complicated. The pacing is smooth and slick, with a good balance of comedy and action. The soundtracks are also excellent and perfectly complement the film.

The only drawback would be the use of CGI in certain scenes that were clearly shot with a green screen. However, this is a minor flaw in light of the overall enjoyment of the show!

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the film. In fact, I thought it was one of the best films I'd seen in recent months. If you haven't seen the movie yet, please do so!

In order to bring down an international criminal organization that is hiding in South Korea, elite North Korean detective Lim Cheol ryung (HYUN Bin) is dispatched to the South , while South Korean detective Kang Jin tae (YOO Hai Jin) is sent to Cyber Crimes unit when an undercover operation goes South.

He's desperate to return to his old team when he's given a special detail with Cheol ryung once more. As Min-young's heart is reignited to see Cheol ryung again, he and Jin tae proceed to work together despite being suspicious of each other's motives.

Just as they're about to raid the criminal organization's leader, JANG Myung jun (JIN Sun Kyu)'s hideout, FBI agent Jack (Daniel HENNEY) bursts in!
