Christmas speeches: short and sweet

By:  Susan Dugdale  | Last modified: 09-30-2023

How to prepare the best Christmas speech ever!

Christmas speeches are often expected as part of workplace celebrations, like the annual company or office Christmas party. Or they may be included in a family and friends get together on Christmas day.

And, yes, it can be really tricky pulling a good one together.

Let's face it.

By the time the season of merriness is upon us, being hey-ho, cheerily merry about preparing a Christmas speech can feel like a step too far.

One twinkly fairy light too many.

However, you can do this. You can find the right words, and make the speech you give a gift by keeping it short, simple and sincere. In other words: stunningly, genuinely awesome. Just the best Christmas speech ever. ☺

The most efficient way to prepare your speech is to:

  • start with reading through the 7 step  Christmas Speech template . That will help  you focus your thoughts about what you want to speak about.
  • look over the 6 Christmas theme suggestions to see if there's one you would like to use as the core idea or thread linking your ideas together.
  • look through the Christmas quotations to see if there's one you'd like to use somewhere in your speech. (Maybe at the conclusion?)
  • then download the free printable speech outline pdf .
  • follow steps 1- 6   to create your speech outline using the printable.
  • use the suggestions in step 7 to get from the speech outline to a speech ready for rehearsal.
  • go through each of the suggestions in step 8 (a bonus step!) to make sure you are as prepared as you can be.

 7 step Christmas speech template

1. who is your speech for.

Is it family, friends, work colleagues, club members...?

What do they want, or expect, to hear? What would delight them?  Is it stories about the events of the year shared by everybody, the company triumphs or challenges...?

Does the occasion suit light-hearted humor or is a solemn tone more appropriate?

Knowing exactly who the audience is will help you choose the tone and content of the speech.

For example, it's unlikely your workplace colleagues would think it appropriate if you were overly flippant, or familiar, and regaled them with tales of your five year old son's exploits. Or that your family would be thrilled to hear a detailed week by week breakdown of how sales sunk or soared in the third quarter.

2. What is the purpose of your speech?

Are you aiming to inspire people? Do you wish to unite them? Perhaps you want to thank them? Maybe you want them to laugh and relax.

And perhaps what you want to achieve is a combination of all those suggestions.

Being clear about why you are making the speech will guide your choice of theme, tone and content.

What's certain is you're not deliberately setting out to bore them by rambling on and on, then on some more.

3. What theme is right for your audience?

Image: A red line with 4 Christmas ornaments hanging off of it. Text: A theme is a thread to hang your speech on.

A theme is a thread to hang your speech on. It unites it by linking all the pieces, (opening, body and conclusion), together.  To keep your speech simple choose  one from these  six theme suggestions .

4. Organize or outline the body of your speech

It's easier to begin with the body or middle of your speech because this is where you express your main points or ideas around your chosen theme. You will add the conclusion and beginning later.

Depending on how long you want to speak for, choose 1 to 3 main points fitting your audience, purpose and theme.

Start with the most important first. For each point you make, give one or two examples to illustrate it.

When you give your speech you'll link the points with transitions, or bridges, to enable your audience to follow you easily from one idea to the next.

(If you want more information about transitions, why you need them, and how they work, you'll find it here on this page:  how to write a speech . Scroll down the page to Step 5: Transitions.)

The pattern or template you'll use looks like this:

  • Point One : Main idea - Example, example Transition or link to...
  • Point Two : Idea - Example, example Transition or link to...
  • Point Three : Idea - Example, example Transition or link to conclusion of your Christmas speech.

5. Organize or outline the conclusion

The ending of you speech should leave your audience full of hope: looking forward to coming events, united, and with a sense of gratitude.

To finish well, reinforce your theme, summarize your main points and end with strong statement or maybe a quotation.   What's ideal is an ending your audience will remember.

For more about conclusions, with examples of speech endings, see: how to end a speech .

6. Organize or outline the introduction

The beginning of your speech:

  • Acknowledges and welcomes guests to the occasion. (If you have guests of honor, name them.)
  • Introduces the theme of your speech.
  • Gives a broad overview of the main points.
  • And links or transitions into the body of the speech - your most important and first point.

7. Getting from outline to speech

A speech is not a speech until it is spoken out loud to an audience.

If you've followed the first six steps what you've got now is a collection of ideas: sequenced notes covering everything you intend to speak about.

Your next task is to tie your content together from beginning to end so when you say it out loud it flows naturally and can be easily followed by your audience.

There are several ways of doing this.

a) Give a manuscript speech

One way is to use your outline to write the entire speech out paragraph by paragraph, sentence by sentence, word for word. This is called a manuscript speech.

When you deliver the speech, you will read it.

Use the manuscript method if it makes you feel more comfortable or safer. That's important if this is a first speech, or you are very pushed for time.

(Here are two short company Christmas party speeches . Both are in manuscript format. I have given you the complete text of each one to read.)

For much more about writing speeches see: how to write a speech . The article has tips on how to write oral language, that is language to be spoken rather than read, writing for a particular audience, tone and vocabulary choices, how to write a good introduction and a lot more.

Once you've finalized the text you're ready to practice reading it aloud. For you own sake please take the time to do this.  A speech badly read is very difficult to listen to and you want your speech remembered for the right reasons.

Besides, delivering a manuscript speech well is a valuable skill to have. Find out  how to read a speech effectively .

b) Give an extemporaneous speech using cue cards

Another way is to give your speech extemporaneously. That is to use a mix of carefully scripted and sequenced material and impromptu speaking.

Done well, an extemporaneous speech is naturally flowing and conversational. (My sample office Christmas party speech is an example of one.)

Steps 4, 5 and 6 of your completed outline forms a large chunk of the preparation for one.

How you link all that material together, and the exact words you use is the improvised or impromptu part of the mix.

To interact with your audience and speak freely, without having to use a podium to put outline notes on, use hand held cue cards. This entails transferring your outline to a carefully curated series of numbered and labeled cards.

Each card carries one MAIN point and its supporting details.

When you glance at it, the words and phrases you've put on it act as a prompt and you remember what you wanted to cover.

For more: how to make and use cue cards

Rehearsing your speech

Both ways, manuscript and extemporaneous, need practice or rehearsal before you deliver the speech to your audience.

Have a few trusted friends, colleagues or family members listen to it. Get their feedback on content, tone and length, * (2-3 minutes is good.) Make any changes necessary, and run it through again.

* Timing your speech is important. You'll want to make sure it easily fits the time allotted in occasion's program. And that you avoid the embarrassment of going on too long and keeping people from what they want to do! Keep it brief.

8. How, when and where is the speech being delivered?

This eighth step covers the make or break details: the seemingly little things that if overlooked can change an experience from happy to challenging in an instant.

How, when and where you deliver your speech significantly affects aspects of the preparation you need to do.

For example if the setting for your speech is an intimate family gathering around the dinner table you won't need a lectern/podium on a raised stage or a microphone.

But if you're in a hall they might be absolutely necessary to be seen and heard.

Thinking ahead will help you make sure you have gathered together everything you need and have done everything you can in order to give your speech well. For instance:

  • If you need a mike, you've got it, know how to use it and have tested it.
  • If you're standing on a stage or dais to give your speech that you've stood on it before the event to make sure the sight lines for those watching are OK and that everyone will see you.
  • You've made sure the lighting works for you and the audience.
  • If you're using either cue cards or a complete manuscript, you've practiced with them to make sure you can read them easily. (See how make cue cards and  how to read a speech effectively  for information about the best readable lay outs.)
  • You've got a stand to put your notes on, if you need one.  You've checked that it's the right height for you and have practiced using it.
  • If possible, you've scheduled your speech for the beginning of the occasion.
  • You've saved the glass of Christmas cheer to have after your speech rather than before it and, you've remembered to smile. This is a festive 'we-are-having-a-good-time'  speech. You need to look the part! ☺

(This list is a version of what I call a Bring-It-On list . The principle behind compiling one is that if you carefully think through every aspect of making the speech, there'll be very little chance of something vital being overlooked.

  • Have I got the right date, the right venue?
  • Are my clothes sorted?

A bring-it-on list is great for reassuring yourself that you've done as much as you can to be ready.

Open the  Bring-It-On list  link and you'll find out more about them and a printable ready for your use.)

Speech Script: Christmas

Christmas is a time of joy, togetherness, and celebration. Whether you’re delivering a speech at a family gathering, a community event, or a corporate function, a well-crafted Christmas speech can captivate your audience and create a memorable experience. In this article, we will explore the essential elements and techniques for writing a compelling Christmas speech. From setting the right tone to incorporating themes of love, gratitude, and hope, we will guide you through the process of crafting a speech that spreads the festive spirit and resonates with your listeners.

Table of Contents

Christmas Speech Tips

Understand your audience.

Before diving into writing your Christmas speech, it is crucial to understand your audience. Consider who will be present and tailor your message accordingly. If you’re addressing a family gathering, focus on personal stories, cherished memories, and the importance of family bonds during the holiday season. For a business or community event, emphasize themes of unity, gratitude, and the spirit of giving.

Set the Tone

The tone of your Christmas speech should reflect the warmth, joy, and significance of the occasion. Begin with an engaging introduction that captures attention and evokes the festive atmosphere. Incorporate anecdotes, humor, or heartwarming stories that resonate with the audience. Use vivid language and sensory details to paint a picture of the Christmas spirit.

Embrace the Themes of Christmas

Christmas is associated with several meaningful themes that can be woven into your speech to create a sense of connection and resonance. Some key themes to consider include:

Love and Compassion: Highlight the importance of love, kindness, and compassion during the holiday season. Share stories of acts of generosity or acts of service that exemplify the true spirit of Christmas.

Gratitude: Encourage your audience to reflect on the blessings and joys in their lives. Express gratitude for the presence of loved ones and the opportunities that the year has brought. Encourage acts of gratitude and giving back to the community.

Hope and Renewal: Christmas is a time of hope and new beginnings. Inspire your listeners by emphasizing the power of hope and the potential for positive change. Discuss the significance of the holiday season as a time to reflect on the past year and embrace the possibilities of the coming year.

Structure Your Speech

A well-structured speech helps convey your message effectively. Consider the following structure:

Opening: Begin with a compelling introduction that grabs the audience’s attention and establishes the tone and purpose of your speech. You can start with a relevant quote, a personal story, or a thought-provoking question.

Body: Organize your speech into coherent sections, each focusing on a specific theme or message. Use transitions to guide your audience smoothly from one idea to the next. Incorporate personal anecdotes, quotes, or references to Christmas traditions to illustrate your points.

Conclusion: Summarize your main ideas and leave your audience with a memorable closing statement. Reiterate the key messages of love, gratitude, and hope, and end on an inspiring note that resonates with the festive spirit.

Use Imagery and Metaphors

To make your speech more vivid and engaging, employ imagery and metaphors. Paint a picture with your words, describing the sights, sounds, and emotions of the holiday season. Incorporate metaphors to convey deeper meanings and create a lasting impression.

“Christmas is a magical time when our hearts are adorned with twinkling lights of joy and our spirits dance to the melody of love. Like a cozy fireplace, it warms our souls and brings us together in a tapestry of togetherness. The holiday season is a snow globe of possibilities, where dreams flutter like delicate snowflakes, transforming our world into a breathtaking wonderland. It’s a time when the spirit of giving takes flight, like a flock of angels spreading their wings of compassion. Let us embrace this season like a symphony conductor, orchestrating acts of kindness and harmony, as we weave the threads of love and hope into the fabric of our lives.”

In this paragraph, metaphors are used to evoke vivid and imaginative images related to Christmas. The twinkling lights, cozy fireplace, snow globe, snowflakes, flock of angels, and symphony conductor are all metaphors that symbolize the feelings and atmosphere of the holiday season. These metaphors help create a sense of enchantment, warmth, and unity, enhancing the overall impact of the speech.

Practice and Delivery

Even the most well-written speech can fall flat without proper delivery. Practice your speech multiple times to familiarize yourself with the content and ensure a smooth delivery. Pay attention to your tone, pace, and body language. Maintain eye contact with your audience, and use gestures and facial expressions to enhance your message. Consider using notes or an outline to stay on track, but strive for a natural and conversational delivery.

Christmas Speech Example #1

Ladies and gentlemen, distinguished guests, and beloved friends,

Good evening and a merry Christmas to all of you! Tonight, we gather here in the spirit of joy, unity, and celebration as we embrace the magic of Christmas. This cherished time of the year brings us together, transcending our differences and reminding us of the power of love, compassion, and togetherness.

Christmas is a season that holds a special place in our hearts. It is a time when the air is filled with anticipation, when the world seems to sparkle with lights and decorations, and when the simple act of giving brings us immeasurable joy. It is a time of reflection, gratitude, and renewal.

As we come together with our loved ones, let us take a moment to appreciate the blessings that surround us. Christmas is a time to be grateful for the precious gift of family, friends, and the moments we share with them. It is an opportunity to express our gratitude for the love and support that enrich our lives each and every day.

Moreover, Christmas is a season of giving, a time when we extend our hands and hearts to those in need. It is a reminder that the true spirit of Christmas lies not in the material gifts we exchange, but in the acts of kindness and compassion we bestow upon others. Whether it is through donating to charities, volunteering our time, or simply reaching out to lend a helping hand, let us embrace the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of those less fortunate.

Let us not forget the significance of this season as a time of hope and inspiration. Christmas reminds us that even in the darkest of times, there is always a glimmer of light. It is a beacon of hope that guides us towards a brighter future, encouraging us to believe in the power of miracles and the potential for positive change.

In the midst of the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, let us not lose sight of what truly matters. It is the love, the laughter, and the moments of genuine connection that make this time of year so special. It is the shared meals, the heartfelt conversations, and the memories we create together that will remain etched in our hearts for years to come.

As we celebrate this Christmas, let us carry the spirit of the season with us throughout the year. Let us continue to spread love, kindness, and goodwill to all those we encounter. May the joy and warmth we experience during this time be a guiding light that leads us towards a future filled with peace, understanding, and harmony.

In closing, I would like to express my deepest gratitude for each and every one of you who has joined us today. Your presence here fills this room with a sense of joy and camaraderie that embodies the true essence of Christmas. May this holiday season bring you an abundance of blessings, and may the spirit of Christmas reside in your hearts, not just today, but always.

Once again, I wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy New Year! Thank you.

Christmas Speech Example #2

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls,

A joyous Christmas greeting to all of you! As we gather here in the embrace of this festive season, I am filled with an overwhelming sense of happiness and gratitude. Christmas is a time that unites us in a shared celebration of love, hope, and the power of giving.

When we think of Christmas, we often conjure images of twinkling lights, beautifully decorated trees, and the aroma of freshly baked cookies that fill our homes. But beyond the decorations and festivities, Christmas holds a deeper meaning—a message that resonates with our hearts and souls.

Christmas reminds us of the importance of family and cherished friendships. It is a time when we come together, setting aside our differences and embracing the bonds that unite us. The laughter, the stories shared, and the memories created during this season are treasures that we hold dear for a lifetime.

In the spirit of Christmas, let us extend our love and kindness to those around us. Each act of generosity, no matter how small, has the power to touch lives and spread happiness. Whether it’s a warm smile, a helping hand to someone in need, or a thoughtful gift, let us remember that the true spirit of Christmas lies in selflessness and compassion.

As we immerse ourselves in the festivities, let us also take a moment to reflect on the true reason for this season. Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, a symbol of hope and salvation. It is a time to embrace faith, renew our spirits, and seek a brighter future filled with peace and goodwill.

Let us not forget those who may be less fortunate during this time. Christmas calls us to reach out to those in need, to lend a helping hand, and to share our blessings with those who may be experiencing hardship. Through acts of charity and compassion, we can make a profound difference in the lives of others, spreading the true meaning of Christmas far and wide.

As we exchange gifts and partake in festive feasts, let us remember that the greatest gift we can give is our presence, our time, and our love. It is the simple gestures of love and genuine connection that have the power to touch hearts and bring immeasurable joy.

In conclusion, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for being here today. Your presence fills this gathering with warmth and happiness. May this Christmas be a time of immense joy, love, and peace for you and your loved ones.

As we navigate through the coming days and weeks, may the spirit of Christmas guide us, inspire us, and remind us of the boundless possibilities of a world filled with compassion and understanding.

Once again, I wish you all a very merry Christmas and a new year filled with hope, happiness, and endless blessings. Thank you.

Christmas Speech Example #3

Distinguished guests, dear friends, and fellow celebrants,

Gathered together on this magical Christmas occasion, I am honored to address you all with a heart brimming with joy and a spirit filled with the warmth of the holiday season. Christmas, a tapestry woven with traditions and tales, beckons us to embrace its enchantment and immerse ourselves in its timeless charm.

As we bask in the glow of twinkling lights and the melodious carols that fill the air, let us pause to reflect on the profound symbolism that lies beneath the surface. Christmas is a season of rebirth and renewal, reminding us that even in the darkest of times, there is always a glimmer of hope. It is a time when the world seems to hold its breath, waiting for miracles to unfold and dreams to come alive.

Just as a snow-covered landscape transforms into a winter wonderland, so too does this season transform our hearts. It fills them with a sense of wonder, reminding us of the innocence and joy we once experienced as children. It is an invitation to embrace our inner child, to believe in the extraordinary, and to see the world through eyes illuminated by the purest of lights.

Christmas is a time of gratitude, a season that invites us to appreciate the blessings that grace our lives. It is a time to cherish the company of loved ones, to hold them close and create lasting memories. Like the flickering flame of a candle, the love we share burns bright, casting a warm and comforting glow on those around us.

In the spirit of this generous season, let us remember the true gift of Christmas: the gift of giving. It is through extending a helping hand, lending an ear, or offering a kind word that we truly embody the essence of this special time. Just as a star guides the way for weary travelers, our acts of kindness illuminate the path for those in need, offering them solace and support.

Let us not forget those who are less fortunate, those who may be experiencing hardship or loneliness during this season. Christmas calls upon us to extend our compassion, to share our blessings with those who need it most. In doing so, we become beacons of hope, beacons that shine through the darkness and offer a glimpse of a brighter tomorrow.

As we gather around tables adorned with festive feasts, let us savor the flavors of togetherness and gratitude. Let the laughter and merriment that fill the air be a testament to the bonds we share, transcending borders and differences. Christmas unites us, reminding us of our shared humanity and the power of love to bridge even the widest divides.

In closing, I extend my heartfelt wishes for a Christmas filled with love, joy, and peace. May this season be a time of reflection, a time to embrace the magic that surrounds us, and a time to forge connections that will endure for a lifetime. As we journey through the coming days, may the spirit of Christmas guide us, inspire us, and remind us of the extraordinary capacity we possess to make this world a better place.

Thank you, and may your hearts be filled with the true essence of Christmas. Merry Christmas to all!

Stocking Inspiration — How to write Holiday Speeches that make everyone’s nice list.

write speech on christmas

Thinking of a speech or a toast for the annual office party is enough to make you hope a trio of Christmas ghosts might spirit you away.

Whether in-person, or via virtual, speeches, like gifts, need planning. You’re looking back to the year just gone, and forward to the year ahead. There are victories to mark, and hard times to acknowledge. There are people to be thanked. And the whole holiday package needs to be wrapped and presented in just the right festive spirit.

It’s the keynote speech of the night.

Fear not. We come with tidings of great joy. With the addition of just a couple of simple speech-writing techniques, holiday speeches can sparkle. Choose three or four of them for your end-of-year message, and you’ll have Jolly Holly oratory to be proud of.

Let our rhetoric-soused, speech-writing elves do the heavy lifting for you.

For supporting your theme

First word repeat: a christmas tricycle.

write speech on christmas

Three wheeler bikes offer firm support.

With a wheel at each corner, there are no worrisome wobbles. Holiday speeches get that same stability when simple connecting phrases are repeated  in consecutive lines:

“This year we’ve delivered service that is the best in the market . — We’ve been able to give our customers a product that is the best in the market, and that’s because we have a team of people who are the best in the market !”

“ Let’s celebrate a successful year past. Let’s celebrate a successful year ahead. Let’s celebrate  an incredibly well earned holiday”

For linking ideas

Last word, first word: the train-set.

write speech on christmas

For one step further on from the tricycle, try a train-set!

Train-sets link together. The rear of one car connects to the front of the car behind, creating a cohesive whole that moves forward as one. The same effect is achieved by stringing phrases together. Make the last word of one line become the first word of the next. It’s a stylish technique that connects themes, and sounds superb.

“I wish you happy holidays . Holidays full of excitement . Excitement that brings you back refreshed next year.”

“Make it a priority this holiday to find some downtime . Downtime brings time for reflection , and reflection gives rise to new ideas ; ideas that lead to new opportunities.”

For really hammering home the holidays

Autocorrect: candy cane pencil with eraser & sharpener.

write speech on christmas

What better way to write your Holiday speech than with a candy cane pencil. For this technique though, you’ll also need an eraser and sharpener because you’re going to turn the usual bland Holiday greetings into something sharper!

First think of a nicely classical Holiday greeting, such as “I wish you all happy holidays.” Now take your eraser and audibly rub-out the bland, replacing it with something more ear-catching:

“I wish you all happy holidays. No, I don’t… I wish you all sensational holidays!”

“This has been a good year. No, strike that. This has been a fantastic year!”

For listing accomplishments

Noisy comma: eight tiny reindeer.

write speech on christmas

For lists of accomplishments, make each stand proud by replacing normally silent commas, with the word “and”.

In the classic Christmas poem, Santa calls his reindeer. Each name stands-out brighter than a red suit in a snow-drift. This is because each is emphasised by the stressed word ‘and’ that appears before it. Imagine if the line went: “Now Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donder, and Blitzen.” then instead of standing out, they’d all become one long stretch-reindeer blur.

“This year we’ve launched products and won clients and expanded the business and been more successful than ever before.”

“We’ve grown the team and increased our service levels and developed the business.”

To pack items into a list without those items blurring, remember the old saying:

“Many ‘ands make lists work!”

For encouraging miraculous achievements

Strength: a charlie brown tree.

write speech on christmas

When your team have beaten the odds and pulled off the impossible, that needs celebrating.

Charlie Brown conjured holiday magic from the unpromising foundation of a poor little Christmas tree. The last one on the lot, and missing all its needles, it was a ‘Charlie Brown Tree’. Everybody laughed at it. But Charlie Brown made that tree glitter.

Where have your team conquered seemingly unconquerable odds. Emphasise those moments. Celebrate those moments. Conjure the magic of past achievements, and your team will conjure magical achievements to come.

“We’ve grown the business. If we can grow the business in a recession year like this, then think what we can achieve next year.”

“We’d all agree that project ABC was the most demanding assignment we’ve ever been asked to do. It was a tight deadline. It was a challenging client. And they kept changing the specs. And still we achieved it! If we can meet that sort of pressure, we can meet anything!”

For defining ideas

Analogy: a drum kit & snakes and ladders.

write speech on christmas

There are toys children love to receive but that parents hate them to be given. Drum kits for example. Why do parents hate Holiday drum kits?

It’s because drums are to family friction as games are to family fun.

Analogies create the illusion of cause and effect: A is to B, as C is to D. It makes your case sound logical and your logic sound vivid. Where things are vivid, they are always remembered!

Make them seasonal: Santa is to Christmas as the Bunny is to Easter

Make them businesslike: Creativity is to success as oxygen is to breathing

Make them funny: Holiday time with the family can be to relaxation as a canal-root filling is to massage

For tackling painful memories

Understate: a lump of coal.

write speech on christmas

When times have been hard or tough decisions made, your team will expect you to reference those times.

Remember that this is a Holiday speech though. You don’t want to collapse the party spirit. Negatives need acknowledging without re-animating, so use a “not……but…” structure:

“This past year has not been without its challenges, but……”

“There have been times when this past year has not been the easiest, but… ..”

“We’ve had to make decisions that have not been happy ones, but… .”

Follow that “but…” with an uplifting statement. You will have nodded to the tough times, but immediately redirected your audience to better times to come.

To create a sound that sounds superb

Foresound: a suzy snowflake snowglobe.

write speech on christmas

Seasonal sound-bites often use words that start with the same letters.

Let’s take “Suzy Snowflake”, and “Dominick the Donkey”, and then of course there’s the phrase itself: “Happy Holidays”.

Coned consonants double the delight of delivery. So instead of a “peaceful holiday”, why not try wishing people a “perfectly peaceful holiday” instead?

You see — you just can’t get away from those replicating festive foresounds. Ho! Ho! Ho!

To avoid it all becoming a just little too sugary….

Even odds: sour candies.

write speech on christmas

Here’s another way to double-up on the double-sound technique, and make Holiday audiences pucker with pleasure.

This treat starts sour, and then turns sweet! Take two words that start with the same letter, but that have more or less opposite meanings. Now collide them together. Make sure the first one’s nasty, and the second one’s nice!

“Fearsomely festive.”

“Disgustingly delightful.”

“Fiendishly fun-filled.”

“Horribly happy.”

It’s a tasty little contradiction that brings sweetness with a twist.

To add festive colour

Seasoning: a box of crayons.

write speech on christmas

While plain speaking might be admired, a speech that is plain is a speech that will fail.

Holiday speeches need to move, to inspire, and be remembered. It needs to have colours. The colors of a bright box of brand new crayons.

Google for a “Christmas Word Cloud”. There are lots out there to choose from. Sprinkle sparkling adjectives throughout your speech, in an approximate ratio of 1:50. For every 50 words of plain speaking, have one bright splash of festive colour.

May your Holiday speech be bright . May your Holiday speech be memorable. And may your Holiday speech be fun.

If you have fun in the writing, then you’ll have fun in the delivery, and if you’re enjoying it then you can guarantee that your audience will as well.

Happy Holidays!

2-Minute Speech on Christmas for Students

‘Hello and welcome to everyone present here. I am delighted to present my speech at Christmas. We all know that the entire world celebrates the 25th of December as Christmas Eve. But how many of us know what this festival means? What is the importance of Christmas in the Christian culture? When was the first time we celebrated Christmas?’

‘The Christmas celebration started in ancient Rome in the 4th century. During this time, Rome was ruled by Constantine, who was the first Christian King. Since then, Christmas celebrations spread to different parts of Europe and other continents.’

‘Christmas is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ. Christ is known as the Son of God. This festival is not a religious festival but is a season of love, kindness and goodwill. During Christmas, everyone finds solace in others’ company. For some, it might just be a day off from work or school, but this festival has a special meaning.’

‘It’s a celebration of hope and renewal. It’s that time of the year when we reflect on ourselves, appreciate the blessings we’ve received and look forward to future opportunities. The gifts and sweets we exchange on Christmas day tell how much we care and love each other.’

‘We all have done Christmas tree decorations at school, home and community centre, where gifts, starts, ornaments and lights were hung to make it look aesthetically pleasing. Christians visit the Church, attending the services including prayers, hymns and reflections on the birth of Jesus Christ.’

‘Then comes the Santa Claus and Stockings feature of the festival. Excited and eagerly we wait for Santa Claus to give us gifts while we are asleep. The next morning starts with us looking at our gifts given by Santa, thanking him for his kindness and love for all of us.’

‘So this Christmas Eve, let us spread the message of love, hope and joy to everyone. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and may the warmth of the season stay with all of you throughout the coming year.

Thank you.’

Christmas Speech

Christmas speech

A Christmas speech is a traditional address given during the holiday season. It is typically delivered by a person of authority, such as a religious leader or political figure, and is meant to inspire and uplift the audience. Christmas speeches are also given in the workplace and at family dinners.

Merry Christmas – or is it Happy Holidays? About 31% of the world’s population considers themselves  Christian  and celebrate December 25th as the birth of Jesus Christ. Another 14% observe some holiday traditions, even though they do not consider themselves Christian.

Christmas speeches abound during the holiday season. The speeches may acknowledge the religious roots of the holiday or not, depending on the audience.

Religious leaders may make the spiritual aspects of the holiday their key speaking points. In contrast, popular speakers to more cosmopolitan audiences may stress the positive attitudes of love, generosity, and goodwill toward men. At office parties, where the staff may represent mixed cultural backgrounds, speeches may focus more on the holiday’s secular aspects. Family dinners and holiday get-togethers often have Christamas toasts and longer speeches.

Table of Contents

What Is A Christmas Speech About?

The purpose of a Christmas speech is to reflect on the holiday’s true meaning and encourage others to embrace its spirit of love, generosity, and goodwill toward all. It may also touch on family, community, and faith themes.

Speeches to religious congregations tend to focus on the birth of Jesus Christ as the Son of God, the impetus of the feelings of love, peace, and kindness.

Religious speech on the birth of Christ

What Do You Say In A Christmas Speech?

The Christmas season is a time of joy, love, and giving. It is a time when loved ones come together to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, if they are believers, and to share in the spirit of generosity that defines this special holiday. As such, knowing what to say in a Christmas address is essential.

First, it is vital to acknowledge the significance of the occasion to Christians across the world and express gratitude for being able to celebrate it with loved ones.

Second, one should highlight the importance of spreading love and kindness this season by sharing personal experiences or stories demonstrating these values.

Additionally, one can use their speech to encourage others to give back by volunteering or donating to those in need.

Finally, it is essential to end positively by wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and expressing hope for a happy and prosperous new year.

A Christmas speech should be heartfelt, inspiring, and reflective of the true meaning of the holiday season. It should encourage others to spread joy and kindness while celebrating with loved ones.

How To Write 10 Lines About Christmas?

Although most think of Christmas as a joyous time, for many, Christmas is a very emotional time of year, and those emotions are sometimes deep or painful. So, while there are many idealized aspects of the Christmas season, Christmas speeches can sometimes go deeper and be more poignant than tinsel and good tidings.

The following tips will help you get the most out of your 10-line foundation.

  • Focus on the key elements that make this holiday unique or important to you.
  • Start by describing what you find most illustrative of the holiday. This may be the sights, sounds, or smells of the season. Or it may be traditions that you hold dear.
  • Include sentences highlighting the importance of spending time with loved ones, whether it’s sharing a meal, sending thoughtful cards, extra time for phone conversations, or special gifts for the season.
  • You might also want to mention classic Christmas traditions like caroling or watching holiday movies.
  • Reflect on the true meaning of Christmas – celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ – and how this message can bring hope and peace to people worldwide.

Writing about Christmas can be a rewarding experience

By following these tips, you can easily lay the foundation for a Christmas speech and write 10 lines that capture the spirit of this beloved holiday.

What Are Some Good Christmas Speech Topics?

You can cover many topics if you are tasked with giving a Christmas speech.

Among them are:

  • The true meaning of Christmas.  This can include discussing the holiday’s religious significance by reflecting upon the first Christmas and the birth of Christ, but “peace on earth” and a loving holiday spirit are frequent themes even in more secular settings.
  • Important events from the previous year in their spiritual context.  Events over 12 months can significantly impact personal and community growth. Presenting these things in their larger context provides perspective and a sense of peace and understanding.
  • The importance of giving back.  The spirit of generosity is often highlighted at Christmastime, and organizations hold toy drives and deliver Christmas food baskets. But volunteer opportunities and the needs of charitable organizations exist all year long. A Christmas speech is an excellent time to remind people of this and how they can make a difference in your community. This topic can be made more relatable by referencing Santa Claus, who embodies the spirit of generosity that’s felt during this season.
  • Family and community traditions.  Traditions bring people closer together during this particular time of year. Sharing personal stories and memories can make your speech more relatable and engaging.
  • The significance of the Christmas tree.  Although we may now think of the  Christmas tree  as a means to display ornaments, many cultures have attached more profound meanings to them. Its roots are pagan, but it is a universal symbol of the season.

Whatever topic you choose, remember to speak from the heart and spread joy to those around you.

What Is An Appropriate Template For A Christmas Speech?

Christmas is a time for family, community, and goodwill. It’s also time for believers to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and to share in the spirit of the season. As such, an appropriate template for a Christmas speech directed at Christians should reflect these values.

The speech should begin with a warm welcome to all present , acknowledging their presence and thanking them for coming. It should then discuss the true meaning of Christmas – the birth of Jesus Christ or the love of the season – and how this event has impacted our lives.

The speaker can also d iscuss the importance of family, friends, and community during this time of year. They can highlight acts of kindness and generosity throughout the year or encourage others to give back during this season.

Finally, it is important to end on a positive note by wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. The speaker can also express their hope that everyone will continue spreading love and joy throughout the year.

An appropriate template for a Christmas speech should focus on love, giving, family, community, and positivity. By following this template, speakers can create meaningful and memorable addresses.

Speeches by political leaders and bosses might reference why Christians celebrate but plan the discourse around the value of the season.

How Do You Start A Christmas Speech?

A well-crafted Christmas speech should be sincere, conveying a message that resonates with the audience. It should also be engaging and entertaining, using humor or personal anecdotes to connect with listeners.

Ultimately, a Christmas speech allows individuals to come together to celebrate this particular time of year. Whether delivered in a church or at a community event, it reminds us all of the importance of kindness and compassion towards one another.

What Is The Best Christmas Speech?

The best Christmas speech is one that comes from the heart and delivers a message of inspiration, hope, and love. It doesn’t have to be done with platitudes and false joy. Sincere emotion and truth in the message will be more impactful.

Such a speech should also be inclusive. It should acknowledge the diversity of beliefs and traditions during this time of year. It should encourage people to come together in unity and celebrate their differences.

What Are Example Of Memorable Christmas Speeches?

There have been innumerable speeches given during the Christmas season. The most memorable ones are those that inspire and uplift us. World leaders, celebrities, and religious figures have delivered some of the most powerful Christmas speeches.

Greeting From The UK

For over 90 years, the British Monarch y has offered a Christmas message that reflects the monarch’s views about Christmas and discusses  current issues and concerns,

One such speech was delivered by  Queen Elizabeth II  in 1957 during the queen’s Christmas broadcast on the BBC. This was the first time the traditional address was televised.

Her Majesty spoke from Sandringham house in Norfolk, the exact location King George V used for his first Christmas address in 1932.

Dubbed the “Queen’s Speech,” she spoke about the  importance of family and community during the holiday season . Her words resonated with people worldwide and continue to be remembered today.

Queen Elizabeth II’s son, the now King Charles III, has continued the tradition of the royal family’s Christmas address by delivering his first Christmas message in 2022.

The King addressed the commonwealth from St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle with an emotional and uplifting message honoring his late mother and expressing optimism for the future of Great Britain.

U.S. President

U.S. presidents also make Christmas speeches to the nation. One memorable Christmas speech was given by President Ronald Reagan in 1981. He spoke about the true meaning of Christmas and how it brings hope to all people. His message of peace and unity touched many hearts.

Pope Francis

In recent years, Pope Francis has delivered powerful Christmas messages focusing on social justice issues such as poverty, inequality, and environmental degradation. His speeches remind us that Christmas is not just about gifts and decorations but also about caring for those in need.

Memorable Christmas speeches inspire us to be better people, love one another more deeply, and make a positive difference in our communities.

Christmas Speeches

Christmas Speeches (Plus 2 Examples)

In December, people will ask you to deliver Christmas speeches. You will be joining one Christmas party to another. You can prepare your impromptu speeches ahead of time.

Purposes of Christmas Speeches

I will give you examples of Christmas speeches for different occasions and audiences. But before that, let’s talk about the purpose of Christmas speeches.

Celebration of Love and Togetherness.

At its core, Christmas is a festival that celebrates the bond of family and friends. The season emphasizes togetherness, warmth, and the joy of being with loved ones.

We start hearing Christmas songs in September. We Filipinos joked about it being the time of Jose Mari Chan, the singer best known for his Christmas songs. Most of his songs are about spending Christmas together with your family.

Reflection and Gratitude.

The end of the year is a time for reflection on the past year—its challenges, its joys, and its lessons. It’s a time to express gratitude for the blessings and the support received.

No matter what happens to your business, people do expect you to be grateful. We can learn from both good and bad. We are thankful for the experiences. And we look to the next year with hope.

Hope and Renewal.

We say, “Merry Christmas and Happy New Year”. The Filipino version is more hopeful. It goes, “Maligayang Pasko at Manigong Bagong Taon”. Manigong is a Tagalog word that means prosperous or bountiful.

Christmas speeches often touch upon hope for the future. We hope for new beginnings and we pray for better days ahead. A one-line on hope and renewal will make your speech an expression of faith.

Generosity and Kindness.

We exchange gifts. We show kindness and compassion. This is the story of Christmas. The idea of spreading cheer and making someone’s day brighter is important.

In our speeches, we honor people.

This is an opportunity to delight people who are always present but never given attention.

I remember a TV commercial that showed how every employee wrote only one person’s name to win the raffle draw. The janitor deserves the grand prize.

Do remember the invisible people in your Christmas speech. Make them shine. Everyone will remember this.

The Story of Christmas

There is the tendency of some companies to make the culture more American. This is a common mistake of young American entrepreneurs here in the Philippines.

They say “Happy Holidays” because they don’t want to favor one religion. But the Philippines celebrate religions. That’s why we have too many holidays.

Do not be afraid to talk about the Christmas story. You don’t have to delve into the religious aspects of Christmas. But you can talk about the significance of the story in our lives.

Leaders use stories in their speeches. Surely, The story of Christmas is one of the best ways to connect with your Filipino audiences.

Doing so is not a show of disrespect to others. It is a way of enriching our diverse cultures.

Unity and Community

Christmas is a time when communities come together. We set aside differences to celebrate in unity.

Parents do see Christmas as an opportunity to reunite siblings. And I have seen its magic many times. The spirit of Christmas allows people to open their hearts and forgive.

Consider this when you compose your speeches. When you are speaking at a family or community gathering, find a way to mention unity and forgiveness.

You don’t need to know who has a problem with whom. But trust me, this works.

Personal Anecdotes and Memories.

Make your speech heartfelt and relatable. Tell personal stories or memories related to Christmas. This helps forge a deeper connection with the audience.

I have my favorite Christmas story. And when there are opportunities to share them, I do.

The workplace also gives us many memorable stories. And bringing back these stories the minds of our co-workers show shared experiences.

How to Craft Your Christmas Speech

Crafting a Christmas speech is no different from other speeches. You begin with understanding your target audience. Know what they want to hear from you.

Audience-first speeches serve to make people listen. They cannot unhear them because they also have this conversation inside their heads.

This will help you clarify your core message. Your core message drives a point. It tells you what you want your audience to think, feel, and do after your speech.

I have given you earlier some of the purposes of a Christmas speech. You can use one or two of them to help you clarify your core message.

The core message comes with a promise. The audience wants to know what’s in it for them, and how they can use your message.

You can drive that by telling stories, anecdotes, and dialogues. Use humor. When you have a serious message, use more humor.

Finally, help your audience decide. Make a call to action. And make sure your action is doable. This will help them win at once.

You can make them take action while you are delivering your Christmas speech. What’s important is that you tell your audience what they can do.

Examples of Christmas Speeches

Here are some examples of Christmas Speeches. You may use each as an inspiration in crafting your own.

OFW Christmas

Christmas has always been a special time for us. It’s a season filled with love, joy, and the warmth of togetherness.

But I understand, for many of us, this year might be different.

With distance between us, with some of our beloved family members away from home, the festive lights may seem a bit dimmer, and the carols a touch quieter.

However, let’s not forget what truly binds us together. It’s not the physical gifts under the tree or even the shared meals. It’s the bond of our hearts, the memories, and the unshakeable foundation of our family.

To our brave OFWs who sacrifice so much to provide for us, know that your spirit is felt here at home.

Every festive decoration, every carol sung, and every prayer whispered carries a piece of you.

Distance is but a number. Our hearts know no boundaries, no miles. And so, this Christmas, let’s celebrate not just the moments we share face-to-face, but the love that keeps us connected, always and forever.

Let’s cherish our shared memories, laugh at our old stories, and dream of the days we’ll be together again.

Because the true essence of Christmas, and the true strength of our family, aren’t defined by proximity. It’s defined by love.

Always remember, no matter where we are in the world, our family bond remains unbreakable. Merry Christmas to all, near or far. We are, and will always be, together in heart.

First, a big Merry Christmas to all of you!

I want to start by saying a massive ‘Thank You.’ Our company did really well this year, and it’s all because of your hard work. Every team in our company pulled together, and we did more than we ever hoped for.

I’ve got some exciting news. Next year, we’re going to introduce some new products. I think you’ll all be proud of what we’re about to offer.

And because you’ve all worked so hard, I have a surprise. After tonight’s party, everyone will get a special bonus. It’s my way of saying ‘Thanks’ for all your effort.

But I want to share something important. Yes, work is vital. We all work hard, and that’s great. But let’s not forget about our families, our friends, and the other things that make us happy. We don’t just live to work; we work so we can enjoy our lives.

So, this Christmas, spend time with those you love. Have fun, laugh, and enjoy the special moments.

I hope next year we can do even better at work, but always remember to take time for the other important things in life.

Thank you, everyone, for making this year great. Merry Christmas and let’s look forward to more good times together!

Christmas Party Speech: How to Write One

Writing a Christmas party speech can be daunting, especially when you know it is going to be delivered before work colleagues and peers. However, writing an air-tight speech will go a long way to quelling those nerves. So here are the basics for writing a great Christmas party speech, from A-Z.

Writing the beginning of your Christmas message to staff

A Christmas party speech for employees must do two things as quickly as possible: the first is to get the listeners’ attention, the second is to present the question or theme which will expanded upon in the body of the speech. Traditionally, a Christmas party speech will begin by welcoming the guests, thanking them for coming and perhaps acknowledging those who made a special effort to be there. By contrast, the modern approach is to postpone these formalities until later in the speech, to grab the listener’s attention immediately. A speech of this kind will begin with a story of sorts. For example, ‘The end of the year looked a long way away back in August. When the big project landed on our desks, I know several of you were very sick with the flu, and poor Joan was taken to hospital.’

To be clear, there is nothing wrong with doing the greetings and acknowledgements first, but neither is it wrong to leave it until later in the speech. But if you do choose to go with option A, keep it short and sweet. Then launch straight into your story.

The body of a Christmas party speech

This is the bulk of a Christmas party speech, which will include all the highlights and low points of the year, as well as the lighter moments. Again, these anecdotes will ultimately be seen through the lens of whatever themes you have established at the beginning. Perhaps Joan came back to work a few days later than they had been told and found only one slice of her “Welcome Back” cake in the refrigerator. As a result, the moral of the story established at the start might be that ‘laughing and caring about one another is what gets us through the hard times.’ From this premise, you would have carte blanche to launch into every funny story and act of kindness that year. On the subject of humour, a quick reminder to take care that your laughs are good-natured and won’t embarrass or offend. This is not an open-mic comedy spot; these people know one another and must work together.

At some point in the body of the Christmas party speech, you will need to talk about the challenges and regrets of the year. Talk about those who have retired. Perhaps someone died. If so, be sure to honour their memory. Those closest to them will greatly appreciate that you remembered them.

Ending a Christmas Party Speech

The end of a Christmas party speech is the perfect time to thank everybody for coming along, and to highlight your message (in my example with Ruth, laughter and caring). If your opening story was not of a personal nature, you might want to end with a recollection of Christmas – from your childhood, or how special it is to spend it with your children. A Christmas party speech, after all, is an opportunity to bring people closer together, in laughter and gratitude. Beyond being staff members, we’re all human.

Holiday Message from CEO to Employees

Even if you aren’t having an office Christmas party or event at a venue, you can send a written message by email or read it at a company meeting. With a Christmas message to your staff, you cover similar content. This can be wishing happy holidays to family and friends, outlining the successful year and any challenges that have been overcome. One of the big differences with a written message is that it isn’t the best format for humour compared to delivering a speech. Instead, you can mention some of the good times you shared over the past year.

1-minute Speech on Christmas

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I stand before you today, to talk about a globally celebrated event, Christmas. What comes to your mind when you hear the word ‘Christmas’? For most of us, it’s a picture of happiness, love, and joy. It’s a day of giving and sharing, a day filled with warmth, and a day that fills our hearts with hope and goodwill.

To delve deeper, Christmas is celebrated on the 25th of December every year, marking the birth of Jesus Christ. This day isn’t just significant for Christians but is celebrated with equal enthusiasm by people of different religions all over the world. The essence of this festival lies in its spirit of giving, spreading love, and promoting peace.

What makes Christmas so special? Perhaps, it’s the beautifully decorated Christmas tree with twinkling lights. Maybe it’s the excitement of opening presents, or the irresistible aroma of freshly baked cookies and Christmas dinner. But above all, it’s that feeling of togetherness when we spend time with our loved ones, sharing stories and creating memories.

However, Christmas isn’t just about the festivities. It also reminds us to be kind to one another and help those in need. The story of Santa Claus, or Saint Nicholas, teaches us the joy of giving without expecting anything in return. In essence, Christmas is about spreading joy and love all around us.

In conclusion, Christmas is much more than just a holiday. It’s a reminder to us all to love one another, to give and share joy, and to cherish and create beautiful memories with our loved ones.

2-minute Speech on Christmas

Good morning! Today, we gather together to speak about a holiday that, whether we realize it or not, brings us all closer. A holiday filled with goodwill, cheer and a spirit of giving that extends beyond our family and friends to touch the lives of those we may not even know. That holiday, as you may have guessed, is Christmas.

Christmas is celebrated on the 25th of December each year to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ. However, it has evolved beyond its religious roots to become a global holiday that brings people together, regardless of their beliefs. It’s a day marked by spreading joy and goodwill, expressing love and gratitude, and celebrating life itself.

One of the most beautiful aspects of Christmas is the magic it brings, especially for children. The sparkling lights, colorful decorations, the smell of cookies baking in the oven, and the anticipation of Santa Claus with his bag full of gifts, bring an undeniable charm and excitement. Christmas trees, a central symbol of the holiday, glimmer with decorations and under them lie the gifts, wrapped and waiting to bring smiles to the faces of loved ones.

But Christmas isn’t all about the decorations, gifts, and feasting. Beneath all the festivities lies the true spirit of Christmas – love, joy, and a sense of unity. During this time, we come together, we help each other and we give. We give not just to our loved ones, but to those less fortunate, because Christmas is about sharing and caring. There’s something about Christmas that inspires people to be more generous and more considerate, spreading kindness, like the snowflakes of winter, touching every heart.

Another truly beautiful aspect of Christmas is the music that fills the air. The lovely melodies of Christmas carols and songs bring an immediate sense of peace and happiness. Whether it’s “Jingle Bells,” “Silent Night,” or “Deck the Halls,” these songs have a way of warming our hearts and reminding us of the joy of the season.

In essence, Christmas is a time of reflection – a time to recognize and appreciate the good in our lives. It reminds us to pause, to look around and see all that we have, and all that we have to offer. Christmas is a gentle reminder that we are not alone, that we are part of a community, a part of a much larger universe.

So, as Christmas approaches, let us embrace the spirit of the holiday. Let’s remember to spread kindness, to offer help to those in need, to appreciate our loved ones, and to find joy in the simple things. Because, at the end of the day, the magic of Christmas is not in the presents, but in His presence, in the love and camaraderie we share with our family, friends and community.

In conclusion, let Christmas be a season of reflection on the past, celebration of the present, and hope for a brighter and better future. May the spirit of Christmas bring us all closer and illuminate our path towards a prosperous New Year.

Thank you, and I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Good morning everyone! As we all know Christmas is around the corner, so it’s time to recall why Christmas is celebrated every year around this time. Every year Christmas is celebrated on December 25. It is believed that December 25 is the birth of Jesus Christ. The name of Christmas comes from the mass of Christ or Jesus.

Christmas is celebrated all over the world with joy and happiness, especially by Christians. It is the time of the year when friends and family come together and celebrate it with joy and spread happiness with each other. It is a time of the year where everyone remembers how grateful they are and also helps in doing voluntary work to help poor people.

The significance of Christmas is known to everyone. As we all know Christmas is celebrated as the day of the birth of Jesus Christ in this world and it symbolises the significance of life. He was born in a world that only knew greed, hatred, vengeance, and hypocrisy. This is the month when common greetings like Hello, How do you do etc are replaced by “Happy Christmas!” of course with a warm smile! Once again I welcome you all with a very warm “Happy Christmas” and start my speech on Christmas.

Christmas is a Christian festival which commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ. It is a public holiday, a day off for everyone and most of the businesses remain closed on the day. Preparations for the Christmas begin days before the main day. People start decorating their houses and gardens with lights, flowers, Christmas tree and other decorative. People exchange greetings and gifts, visit relatives and friends; organize get together and feasts. Days around Christmas are filled with tremendous activities and joy. Kids prepare Christmas rhymes with delight, Twinkling stars and trees so bright, Santa’s sleigh and reindeer in flight, Bringing joy on this magical night!

In a culturally diverse country as ours, Christmas symbolizes unity too as we celebrate it together, across the demographic lines of religion and culture. Any festival in India cannot be complete without its delicacies and Christmas is no exception. I personally like the aroma of fresh fruit cake coming from the houses and find it irresistible! Don’t you? I am sure you too love it!

You could see the festive mood setting in with beautiful Christmas carols playing everywhere. It really makes the ambience pleasant and joyous. The sound of bells, coming from the churches fill up the surroundings and make the festival more vibrant.

Children are the happiest around Christmas. They receive a lot of gifts and surprises from their parents, relatives and not to mention Santa Claus. They believe that Santa comes silently in night and plant gifts for them in the Christmas tree; which is actually done by their parents.

Children are the happiest going out with their family for buying Christmas tree, gifts and sweets. It is the time when they are taken for outings, movies, shops and also get to choose gifts of their choice.

Having said all that on Christmas, there is one more thing I would like to mention here, since I have the opportunity to do so. Donate or volunteer! That’s correct, you heard me right. There are some families or individuals who cannot afford the celebrations and the joy as you do. You can bring some happiness in their life by giving them a gift; believe me that you will never forget the smile that you will bring to the children’s faces.

This holiday is a great time to show your concern and compassion towards other through donation or volunteering. Christmas is a reason to be happy and spread happiness. Brighten your own house as well as the house of others.

One of the most important celebrations expected by the workers of a company or maybe an organization is absolutely the end of the year; the right time when they celebrate the Christmas and the New Year at the same time.

On this celebration, all of the employees forget about their activities at the job and they just care about eating, dancing and getting many presents for Christmas .

But the most important part of this celebration is when the regular workers have the chance to share a special moment with their bosses and with the highest authorities of the company.

On this kind of event, the tradition commands that the chief directors and the managers of the company have to give a speech to thanks for the contributions of the workers and wish them a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year .

For that reason, it is very important that the manager prepare a good speech before this event, because a manager is not allowed to say something just from his heart, on this kind of celebrations, the speech must be formal and concrete.

If you are a manager of a company and you do not know how to prepare a really good speech during the toast for Christmas and the New Year , he we will give you some advices, because you have to know that this is a chance to get closer to your workers, and of course, they will be paying attention to each one of your words during the speech.

Our first advice and the most important one will be that you have to give a short speech, it would be something great if the speech last no more than 2 minutes.

It is important that you use simple but nice words, that way you will show the nice treat your company offers to your workers. Also, do not make any jokes if you do not want to lose any respect with your workers.

Finally, you can make mention of some good achievement of the company but it has to be very short, otherwise, the crowd will get bored easily, of course, you do not have to reveal any statistics or numbers in your speech.
