రామ్‌ అనగానే ఇప్పటికీ “ఇస్మార్ట్ శంకర్” గుర్తొస్తుంది. ఆ సినిమా తర్వాత 'రెడ్' అనే ఫ్లాపొచ్చినా, రామ్‌ పై ఇంకా ఇస్మార్ట్ ఇమేజ్ కొనసాగుతోంది. దానివల్ల ఈ ది వారియర్‌ పై కొన్ని అంచనాలు ఏర్పడ్డాయి. 

తమిళ సినిమాలు చూసే వారికి లింగుస్వామి దర్శకత్వమంటేనే పక్కా మాస్ మసాలా అని వేరే చెప్పక్కర్లేదు. దానికి తోడు దేవీశ్రీప్రసాద్ సంగీతమనగానే ఫుల్ డోస్ మాస్ సినిమాలు ఇష్టపడే ప్రేక్షకులు టార్గెట్ ఆడియన్స్ అవుతారు. మరి ఈ చిత్రం మాస్ ఆడియన్స్ మెప్పుదల పొందేలా ఉందా? 

ఇక విషయంలోకి వెళ్దాం.

కర్నూలులో డీఎస్పీగా చార్జ్ తీసుకున్న సత్య అనే ఆఫీసర్ లోకల్ గూండా గురుని ఎలా ఎదుర్కున్నాడనేది ప్రధాన కథ. 

ఇందులో కథేముంది..ఎప్పుడో వందలసార్లు వాడేసిన ఫార్ములాయే కదా అనిపిస్తోందా! బహుశా దర్శకుడికి కూడా ఇలాగే అనిపించి ఉండొచ్చు. అందుకే ఒక చిన్న పాయింట్ యాడ్ చేసి అదే కొత్తదనమనుకోమన్నాడు. అదేంటంటే .. డాక్టరైన హీరో పోలీసాఫీసరవడం. జబ్బు పడ్డ వ్యవస్థకి మందేయడానికి డాక్టర్ పోలీసవుతాడన్నమాట.

ఇక ఆది పినిశెట్టి ఇందులో విలన్. మర్డర్ చేసే ప్రతిసారి ఒక మొక్క నాటుతూ ఉంటాడు. ఇది కూడా కొత్తదనంలో భాగమే అనుకోవాలి. అయితే, ఎప్పుడో ముఠామేస్త్రిలో ఇలాగే ఒక విలన్ పాత్ర మర్డర్ చేసిన ప్రతిసారి చీమనో, దోమనో కాపాడి- “అక్కడ ప్రాణం తీసా..ఇక్కడ ప్రాణం పోసా..లెవెలైపోయింది” అంటూ ఉంటాడు. ఇక్కడ ఆది పినిశెట్టి ట్రాక్ చూస్తే ఆ ముప్పయ్యేళ్ల నాటి క్యారెక్టర్ గుర్తొస్తుంది. 

ఇలాంటి పాయింట్సేవో కొన్ని పెట్టుకుని కొత్త తరహా సినిమా తీస్తున్నట్టుగా అనుకుని తీసేస్తే ప్రేక్షకులు మాత్రం ఏం చేయగలరు నిట్టూర్చడం తప్ప.

మొదటిసారి డైరెక్ట్ తెలుగు సినిమా తీసిన లింగుస్వామికి ఇక్కడి ఆడియన్స్ పట్ల టేకిట్ ఫర్ గ్రాంటెడ్ అభిప్రాయమున్నట్టుంది. 

అదలా ఉంచితే హీరోయిన్ కృతికి రేడియో జాకీగా మంచి పాత్రే ఇచ్చారు కానీ ఆమె కథకేమీ ఉపయోగపడలేదు. ఇది కూడా దర్శకుడి లోపమే. కథానాయిక పాత్రని కథకి పనికిరాకుండా మలచడం మెచ్చుకోదగ్గ విషయం కాదు.

ఇతర నటీనటులు, సాంకేతికత బాగానే ఉన్నా ఎమోషన్ అందని విధం, రెండవ సగంలో ఆశించిన గ్రిప్ లేకపోవడం ఈ ది వారియర్ ని దెబ్బతినేలా చేసాయి. 

దేవీశ్రీప్రసాద్ స్వరపరిచిన పాటలు మాస్ ప్రేక్షకుల్ని పూర్తిస్థాయిలో రంజింపజేసేలా ఉన్నాయి. ముఖ్యంగా 'విజిల్, 'బుల్లెట్' పాటలు హైలైట్. 

సంభాషణల పరంగా సాయిమాధవ్ బుర్రా అక్కడక్కడ మెరుపులు చూపించాడు.

ప్రతి హీరోకి పోలీస్ క్యారక్టర్ చేయాలని ఉంటుంది. ఇన్నేళ్లకి రామ్‌ కి కూడా ఈ చిత్రంతో అవకాశమొచ్చింది. తన మార్క్ ఎనెర్జీతో పాత్రకి పూర్తి న్యాయం చేసాడు. పోలీసుగా మారిన డాక్టర్ కనుక డబుల్ షేడ్స్ లో పర్ఫార్మెన్స్ చూపించాడు.

ఈ సినిమాలో చెప్పుకోదగ్గ విశేషమేదైనా ఉంటే అది డీఎస్పీ సంగీతం, హీరోయిన్ కిడ్నాప్ సన్నివేశాన్ని తెరకెక్కించిన తీరు. మూస కొట్టుడు కథ, ఏ ట్విస్టూ లేని ఫ్లాట్ నెరేటివ్ ఈ సినిమాకి పెద్ద మైనస్సులు.

ఏ సినిమా అయినా ప్రధమార్థమెలా ఉన్నా ద్వితీయార్థం బలంగా ఉండాలి. కానీ ఇక్కడ అది జరగలేదు. హీరో అన్నాక విలన్ మీద గెలుస్తాడని అందరికీ తెలుసు. కానీ ఎలా గెలుస్తాడనే చోట కాంఫ్లిక్ట్ పాయింట్ బలంగా పెట్టుకోవడం ప్రాధమికమైన అంశం. దర్శకుడు ఈ విషయంలో విఫలమయినట్టే. కేవలం రామ్‌ లోని ఎనెర్జీ ప్రేక్షకుల్ని చివరిదాకా కూర్చోబెట్టిందంతే. 

కథ, కథనం, ప్లాట్ పాయింట్ అనే ఆయుధాలని బాగా పదును పెట్టుకుని ది వారియర్ వస్తాడనుకుంటే..పదును లేని పాత కత్తిలాంటి కథతో వచ్చాడు. అందుకే యుద్ధం చేసి ప్రేక్షకుల మనసు గెలవలేకపోయాడు.

Critics Review

This war is a lost cause.

Director Lingusamy has been going through a low phase and has been looking out for a strong comeback on screen. However, he Warrior which he has written and directed, is definitely not that film. This movie seems to be a potpourri of some of his earlier films where the hero plays a cop who is out to get the bad man and remove evil from society. The story is highly predictable with cliched dialogues and poorly written. (more)

War On Audience

yet another disappointment from the seasoned filmmaker. The Warriorr takes off on a regular note where the hero is introduced followed by a song and then the hero shifts from Hyderabad to Kurnool where he meets his love interest (Krithi Shetty). There are some cute moments of romance initially. But they are not enough to take the story forward. (more)

Lingusamy is known to make action films in a particular style and has done the same with this film. Though the narration is decent, it does not arrest you much with its screenplay. More hero villain elevations should have been added from the first half itself. (more)

Ram and Aadhi shine in this commercial potboiler

The Warriorr is a masala-laden commercial pot-boiler that�s meant to be watched over a shared bucket of popcorn. There�s no �relief� or unnecessary comedy scenes (just unnecessary duets) breaking the flow of this war between Satya and Guru. Watch it if that�s the kind of cinema you like. (more)

Ram Pothineni's latest suffers from generic screenwriting and shallow characters

It's disappointing that a film that attempts to try so many things lacks in execution. The screenplay offers no emotional drive to keep us invested � something that recent films like Ayyappanum Koshiyum ( Bheemla Nayak), where an ego trip was enough to make a solid conflict, managed to do. Lingusamy's long journey to find his redemption proves to be longer, and for Ram Pothineni, who wears his heart on the sleeve as Satya, it's another futile attempt and an unlucky debut in Tamil. Loses The Battle

The Kurnool backdrop, a rowdy controlling the entire city, a police officer taking on the rowdy� none of these are new to the Telugu audience. Perhaps, director Lingusamy thought a doctor becoming an IPS officer to give treatment to the wounded system might bring newness to the mass genre. It would have been different had he infused some energy in the latter part. (more)

Ram Pothineni and Krithi Shetty's film is a cringe-fest

The Warriorr is a film that has wasted crores of rupees on a story that we saw ages ago. Every moment in the film reminds you of a scene you have watched in some or other commercial entertainer. Aadhi does a good job initially, but his role is reduced to a caricature. The less said about Devi Sri Prasad�s jarring music, the better. Because you would have lost half of your hearing capacity by the time the film ends. (more)

A formulaic template mass masala that is let down by average writing!

The Warriorr is a formulaic and template action drama that strictly goes by the old book treatment. Due to this, the film is largely predictable. Even the 'supposedly' unexpected pre-interval twist falls flat because you have already seen it coming. The twist had already been revealed in the trailer and so there is no cinematic high that you get when the reveal is made. The film doesn't offer anything new in terms of screenplay and writing and it is the regular good vs bad that we have been used to seeing for ages. That itself becomes the biggest issue for the movie. The film did have the potential to become a solid action entertainer but falls flat because of its predictable and ineffective writing. (more)

The Warriorr First Review: Ram Pothineni-N Lingusamy Dish Out A Full Energetic Mass Entertainer!

The first review of Ram Pothineni's latest film The Warriorr is out. The movie seems to be an entertaining mass action film with its shining moments.

Written and directed by N Lingusamy, the warriorr marks the Tamil debut of Tollywood's energetic star Ram Pothineni. The movie is slated for a grand worldwide release on July 14.

A few of the film buffs and Censor Board members who got to see the movie firsthand before anybody else shared their opinions on it through their respective social media handles. Going by their opinions, the movie is sure going to be a super hit.

The movie is billed as a heavy action drama with mass elements and Ram, easily shoulders it. The film's songs, dance sequences, action scenes, and performances by the cast are being applauded.

Ram Pothineni looks ravishing as a cop in uniform and his portrayal of DSP Satya is very impressive. He nailed the performance of the character. Fans of the actor are sure going to enjoy his performance in the film.

According to a few reviews on social media, the first half is quite entertaining with two songs, and the twist just before the interval bang is kind of a highlight for the movie. The popular Bullet song and whistle song are placed in the second-half narration. The second half is filled with visually entertaining mass elements. The face-off scenes between Ram's character and Aadhi's character are another highlight of the film, say the reviewers.

The movie is produced by Srinivasa Chitturi and stars Akshara Gowda, Aadhi Pinisetty, Krithi Shetty, and Nadhiya in prominent roles. Bharathiraja, Chirag Jani, Redin Kingsley, Brahmaji, and Jayaprakash form the rest of the cast.

The film's cinematography is rendered by Sujith Vaassudev and edited by Naveen Nooli. Devi Sri Prasad composed the film's soundtrack.
