  • Candidate should have a Master's degree with at least 55% marks or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master's degree with equivalent grade.
  • From 55% to 50% relaxation of 5% of marks may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC.
  • A candidate who have completed M.Phil. course work with at least 55 % marks. From 55% to 50% relaxation of 5% of marks may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC.

Duration of Research

  • For PG Degree Holders: Full Time (Minimum 3 years and maximum 5 years) and Part TIme (Minimum 4 years and maximum 6 years)
  • For M.Phil Degree Holders: Full Time (Minimum 2 years and maximum 4 years) and Part TIme (Minimum 3 years and maximum 5 years)

Course of Study

  • Course I: Research Methodology (Research Methods of the concerned discipline)
  • Course II: Research Trends in the concerned discipline / Advances in the concerned discipline
  • Course III: Special Paper (Pertaining to the area of specialization chosen by the candidate under a guide)

Procedure for Admission

  • The candidate will get admission by a two-stage process through an entrance test, called Common Eligibility Test (CET), and an interview. The test will be conducted at the following centers: Erode, Tirupur, Coimbatore, Ooty, and Pollachi/Udumalpet.
  • A candidate who has a Master’s Degree shall be eligible to appear for CET. However, the candidates who qualify in UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF) / SLET /UGC-NET (including JRF) / SET / GATE are exempted from appearing for CET. Candidates who have M.Phil. Degree or scientists working in DRDO/Faculty of Air Force Administrative College are also exempted from appearing for CET.

Common Eligibility Test

  • Common Eligibility Test shall be of objective type with 50 multiple-choice questions.
  • No negative marks for wrong answers.
  • Each question carries 0.7 marks. 
  • Each question has four options.
  • The maximum marks shall be 35 (50 x 0.7 = 35 marks).
  • Passing marks will be 10 out of 35.

Criteria for Selection

  • PG qualifying examination marks shall be converted to 50. 
  • Candidate has to secure 25 marks out of 50 marks in the qualifying degree.
  • In both CET and interview candidates have to secure 25 marks out of 50 marks.
  • Eligibility Requirement for Admission: 50 out of 100 marks

Reservation Criteria

  • 31 % for open competition.
  • 30 % for Backward Classes
  • 20 % for Most Backward Class
  • 18 % for Scheduled Castes

About University 

The Bharathiar University was built up by the Government of Tamil Nadu in the Year 1982, under the Bharathiar University Act I of 1981 (Tamil Nadu University Act I of 1982). The University was perceived by the U.G.C with the end goal of the honor of awards, in 1985. The University is an individual from the Association of Indian Universities and the Association of Commonwealth Universities. It is of an affiliating type, with locale over the income region of Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Tirupur, and Erode. It has at present 127 Affiliated Colleges including 93 Arts and Science Colleges, 1 Air Force Administrative College, 12 Institutions of Information Science and Management, and 30 Research Institutions. 

The University is arranged at the foot of the Maruthamalai Hills around 12 km from the city of Coimbatore, in a rambling grounds of around 1000 sections of land. The environment is very tranquil and is perfect for scholarly interests. The grounds have various compositionally structured structures, which house the different Teaching and Research Departments, the Library, the Internet Center, the Administrative Offices, the Hostels, and the Canteen. The University has 13 schools and 37 Research Departments on Campus, devoted to instructing and research, which incorporate the Bharathiar School of Management and Entrepreneur Development and the School of Distance Education. All the Departments/Schools have kept an eye on by profoundly qualified and experienced employees. The University follows Choice Based Credit System and semester example of guidance for all the Postgraduate courses. Every semester is having at least ninety working days. FACT SHEET: President   Biden Announces New Actions to Keep Families   Together

Since his first day in office, President Biden has called on Congress to secure our border and address our broken immigration system. As Congressional Republicans have continued to put partisan politics ahead of national security – twice voting against the toughest and fairest set of reforms in decades – the President and his Administration have taken actions to secure the border, including:

  • Implementing executive actions to bar migrants who cross our Southern border unlawfully from receiving asylum when encounters are high;
  • Deploying record numbers of law enforcement personnel, infrastructure, and technology to the Southern border;
  • Seizing record amounts of fentanyl at our ports of entry;
  • Revoking the visas of CEOs and government officials outside the U.S. who profit from migrants coming to the U.S. unlawfully; and
  • Expanding efforts to dismantle human smuggling networks and prosecuting individuals who violate immigration laws.

President Biden believes that securing the border is essential. He also believes in expanding lawful pathways and keeping families together, and that immigrants who have been in the United States for decades, paying taxes and contributing to their communities, are part of the social fabric of our country. The Day One immigration reform plan that the President sent to Congress reflects both the need for a secure border and protections for the long-term undocumented. While Congress has failed to act on these reforms, the Biden-Harris Administration has worked to strengthen our lawful immigration system. In addition to vigorously defending the DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood arrivals) policy, the Administration has extended Affordable Care Act coverage to DACA recipients and streamlined, expanded, and instituted new reunification programs so that families can stay together while they complete the immigration process.  Still, there is more that we can do to bring peace of mind and stability to Americans living in mixed-status families as well as young people educated in this country, including Dreamers. That is why today, President Biden announced new actions for people who have been here many years to keep American families together and allow more young people to contribute to our economy.   Keeping American Families Together

  • Today, President Biden is announcing that the Department of Homeland Security will take action to ensure that U.S. citizens with noncitizen spouses and children can keep their families together.
  • This new process will help certain noncitizen spouses and children apply for lawful permanent residence – status that they are already eligible for – without leaving the country.
  • These actions will promote family unity and strengthen our economy, providing a significant benefit to the country and helping U.S. citizens and their noncitizen family members stay together.
  • In order to be eligible, noncitizens must – as of June 17, 2024 – have resided in the United States for 10 or more years and be legally married to a U.S. citizen, while satisfying all applicable legal requirements. On average, those who are eligible for this process have resided in the U.S. for 23 years.
  • Those who are approved after DHS’s case-by-case assessment of their application will be afforded a three-year period to apply for permanent residency. They will be allowed to remain with their families in the United States and be eligible for work authorization for up to three years. This will apply to all married couples who are eligible.  
  • This action will protect approximately half a million spouses of U.S. citizens, and approximately 50,000 noncitizen children under the age of 21 whose parent is married to a U.S. citizen.

Easing the Visa Process for U.S. College Graduates, Including Dreamers

  • President Obama and then-Vice President Biden established the DACA policy to allow young people who were brought here as children to come out of the shadows and contribute to our country in significant ways. Twelve years later, DACA recipients who started as high school and college students are now building successful careers and establishing families of their own.
  • Today’s announcement will allow individuals, including DACA recipients and other Dreamers, who have earned a degree at an accredited U.S. institution of higher education in the United States, and who have received an offer of employment from a U.S. employer in a field related to their degree, to more quickly receive work visas.
  • Recognizing that it is in our national interest to ensure that individuals who are educated in the U.S. are able to use their skills and education to benefit our country, the Administration is taking action to facilitate the employment visa process for those who have graduated from college and have a high-skilled job offer, including DACA recipients and other Dreamers.

Bharathiar University PG and Diploma Admission 2024

The University offers a number of PG programmes including MA, M.Sc, M.Com etc. in multiple disciplines along with several diploma programmes such as PG Diploma in Environmental Education, Cheminformatics etc. In addition to it, the university also offers B.P.Ed and M.P.Ed programme along with MBA and MCA (Regular and Lateral Entry). Selection of candidates will be done on the basis of performance in an entrance test (60 marks) and in the qualifying examination (40 marks) upto V Semester / II year. The Entrance Test will be conducted in the university campus only.

Eligibility Criteria :

Candidates must fulfill the following criteria to be deemed eligible for admission to most of the PG courses offered by Bharathiar university:

  • Candidate should have passed with minimum 55% aggregate in marks at the undergraduate level from any recognized university in the country. The course must have been in a related field, and the viability of an acquired degree in terms of its applicability to the subject of the Master’s degree is at the discretion of the University.
  • A relaxation may be given to reserved categories as per the regulations of the Government.
  • For the M.Ed. degree, a B.Ed. degree is preferable, though BA with education related fields may be accepted.
  • In case of Biochemistry, a minimum of 60% aggregate is required at the undergraduate level to apply.
  • For M.Sc. programmes, Science stream with related subjects must have been a part of the curriculum at the undergraduate level.
  • For courses in Economics or Econometrics, the following subjects are accepted: Economics, Econometrics, Mathematical Statistics, Business Economics, Commerce. Other related subjects may be considered at the discretion of the University.

Selection Process :

  The selection process varies depending on the course applied for. It may a direct one, where candidates either are offered the seats on a first come first serve basis depending on merit and availability, or based on the entrance examination conducted by the University. Certain courses under the university may have interviews as part of the process before finalizing the list of selected candidates. Bharathiar University M.Phil and Ph.D Admission 2024

The University offers M.Phil  and Ph.D. courses in almost all the university departments with more than 37 specializations being offered.  The general eligibility for admission to the research programs is a post-graduate degree in a related discipline. There are generally two sessions of applications accepted, in November and May, with the process being the same as the other courses offered by the university. The University conducts a  Common Entrance Test  for admission to the research programs, followed by a personal interview. 

Candidates must fulfill the following criteria to be deemed eligible for admission to this university.

  • Candidate should have passed with minimum 55% aggregate in a Master’s level degree from any recognized university in the country. The course must have been in the subject applied for, or in a related field as acceptable at the discretion of the university.
  • A 5% relaxation may be given to reserved categories as per the regulations of the Government, i.e. 50% minimum requirement,
  • At the discretion of the University Board, certain candidates may be exempted from the entrance examination, by virtue of them clearing prominent examinations such as NET or the equivalent.

The selection process is based mainly on the performance in the entrance examination conducted by the University.

  • The entrance test consists of questions covering general areas, as well as subject specific and research oriented questions.
  • Candidates who obtain satisfactory marks in this entrance test may also have to participate in a personal interview.
  • The final merit list is based on a cumulative grading of performance in the entrance examination, personal interview, and the qualifying degree scores (Master’s level).

Exemption from the written test:

  • M.Phil. degree holders need not appear for common entrance test, however they will be required to appear for the interview.
  • UGC/ CSIR-JRF NET/ SLET/  GATE / Teacher fellowship holders / Scientist working in DRDO / faculty of Air Force Administrative College/foreign candidates need not appear for entrance test. Such candidates shall be directly admitted to the doctoral program through interview.

Candidates seeking admission to PG Degree/ Diploma courses can apply through online or offline mode. Interested students can register themselves online through the official university website and submit the required fee through available payment modes. Students can also apply offline by obtaining the application form and submitting it upon completion along with the processing fee for Rs. 300/- as Registration fee (Rs.150 /- for SC / ST candidates) through Demand Draft and necessary enclosures.

Offline Registration:

  • Students can obtain the prescribed the application form in person from university office at a cost of Rs.300/- to be remitted by a Bank of India Challan (into the Genral fund Account of Bharathiar University) or a demand draft of any Nationalized Bank. Demand Draft (DD) should  be dated not earlier than April 17 and must be drawn in favour of the Registrar, Bharathiar University and payable at Coimbatore .
  • In case of SC/ST candidates, the fee is Rs. 150/-provided they produce an attested Photo copy of his/her community certificate along with the request for application.
  • Candidate shall also send a self addressed envelope (28 x 13 cms) affixing Rs. 60/- stamp along with the application form

Admission to School of Distance Education, Bharathiar University are done twice a year, Application forms are available for download at the university website/ obtained in person from the university centres and completed applications are received round the year. The enrolment is made a continuous ongoing process throughout the year.

Honest Review of AJK College of Arts and Science.

  • The Cultural Celebrations Were Great. The Environment during the events organised by the college were very student friendly.
  • Campus is located outside the city limits surrounded by beautiful mountains and Lush green environment. This is a very ecofriendly campus
  • The Quality of the placements could be improved if proper efforts are implemented.
  • The Labs are well equipped, but the time spent in labs should be a bit higher.

Passing the 12th exams from any state, cbse or icse board will make you eligible to apply here. The application forms can be acquired in the admission cell in the college or any of the admission center's. There are no reservation quotas to the best of my knowledge. The Frequency and timing of the exams will depend on the ODD or EVEN semesters. Even semesters are shorter and hence the exams are very frequent. In the longer ODD semesters the exams are fairly timed to accommodate the students and the the other events.

If you are planning to pursue a B.Com degree after completing IPCC, it is suggested you do it through IGNOU. 

It provides exemptions in certain subjects for those who have completed CA-IPCC through a special agreement with ICAI. Madras University also offers the same.

Though you also have to submit assignments when you do it from IGNOU and you can get B.Com there in the first year.
