History has proved that one who works hard will definitely be successful. There might be hurdles and failures in between, but one must not give up and must keep on going. We should emulate great personalities like Edison, who worked day and night for his inventions. The president, prime minister, our teachers, parents, etc., have all worked hard to reach their positions.

Hard work will definitely pay off. History has shown that hard work is an essential part of our lives. Without hard work, there is no success in life. An idle person, who is seen relaxing all the time, can never achieve success. It is impossible to reach the height of success without hard work. People always think of shortcuts, but there is no shortcut in life. Everything depends on hard work and the way you take up things. We have heard the success stories of Edison, Mahatma Gandhi, Isaac Newton, Saina Nehwal, Roger Federer and so on. These people are among the many who have led exemplary lives and have become perfect models of how hard work can bring success. It has been proven in history that someone who has truly worked hard will definitely reach the height of success. They might cross the hurdles and face failures but will reach the height. A person who sits back and relaxes throughout the day, thinking of being rich one day, will never be successful. If you have truly worked hard, it will certainly pay off, and you will undoubtedly enjoy your success; however, if you live your dreams, you will end up only dreaming. You must be determined and dedicated to your work in order to achieve your goal. If you are studying, you must be committed to your academics and work hard to achieve higher grades; if you are working, you must be committed to your job. Hard labour pays off in the end, as history has shown. We have all heard about the efforts successful people have put in to make a life. A perfect example of this would be A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the Former President of India. He was known to sell newspapers as a child. Look at what he is today. He is called the Missile Man of India. Many like him have become living examples of how even the worst situations can lead you to the best of situations.

Why is hard work important in our lives?

Hard work is essential in someone’s life to reach the height of success. The path to success is definitely difficult, but if you have worked really hard, then you can reach the height of success.

How is hard work beneficial to students?

Not many understand the value of hard work as a student. Working hard can help students score higher grades, which in turn, would benefit their higher studies. Above all this, reaping the fruits of success for all the efforts you have put in would encourage you to set goals and confidently work towards achieving them.

Our lives are not complete without effort. It takes a lot of effort to succeed in school, work, business, etc. It is impossible to sit back and unwind; if you put in the effort, you will achieve. To put it another way, someone who does nothing wins nothing. It is crucial to recognise the importance of working hard. Below are a few sample essays on “Hard Work”.

Essay on Hard Work

100 Words Essay On Hard Work

Hard work will undoubtedly pay off. History has demonstrated that hard work is a vital component of our lives. There is no achievement in life without effort. An unproductive individual who is mostly seen unwinding is unlikely to succeed. With action, it is possible to achieve to outstanding heights. There are no shortcuts in life, despite what people frequently believe. Everything depends on how you approach things and how hard you work. We have heard about the achievements of Edison, Gandhi, Newton, Saina Nehwal, Roger Federer, and others. Only a few have lived admirably and emerged as ideal examples of how perseverance can lead to achievement.

200 Words Essay On Hard Work

The path to success is paved with hard work. There is nothing else like it in human life. It's a frequent misperception that you don't need to work hard when you're fortunate. Contrarily, the situation is different. Talent is beaten by diligence. It always pays off and is never ineffective or wasted.

Smart Work | Success is assured with consistency, tenacity, and challenging strenuousness. Smart work should always accompanied by hard effort, though. Both have the same meaning and purpose. Working hard while being wise is therefore always valued and crucial for everyone.

Hard Work For Happiness | Work is an essential component of human existence. It is the most significant driver of modern human progress, achievement, and development. Hard work begins when we are serious, determined, and dedicated to completing the objectives and goals we have set for ourselves. Thus, we can only achieve our objectives, find success, and lead happy lives via hard work.

Kalam’s Example | Former Indian President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam serves as a prime illustration of this. As a child, he would sell newspapers to support his family. No one knew that he would grow up to be the great person that he did. He is referred to as the “Missile Man of India”. Many others like him have become tangible illustrations of how even the worst circumstances may lead to the best.

500 Words Essay On Hard Work

Children must learn early on that effort is necessary to succeed. My parents always encourage me to put in the effort to succeed in life. But until my teacher explained the gravity of this virtue to the class, I could not grasp it. She advised us that nothing could be accomplished without the appropriate amount of effort. It would be best if you practise your calculations and equations before I called myself a master of Maths. It would help if you practised the rhythm and moves repeatedly before starting to call myself a dancer. She used numerous examples. To emphasise the value of perseverance, she also used the names of multiple notable figures, like Mahatma Gandhi, Thomas Edison, and Narendra Modi. Her advice was greatly appreciated. She helped us understand the following:

What Is Hard Work?

To achieve your goal, you must put in a lot of effort. It works continuously, carefully, and assiduously to complete/master a task or realise an objective. In certain circumstances, a person's physical and emotional commitment is necessary to achieve a destination, desire, goal, etc., similar to how a child has to put in a lot of effort to do well in school.

Significance Of Hard Work

Everything in life requires effort, and effort teaches us discipline, time management, dedication, and determination. Any aim requires preparation, adherence, focus, and action. Failures might sometimes slow us down on the path of hard struggle, but consistent hard work gives us the experience and strength to overcome any challenge. Success happens when we gain knowledge and confidence over time. In addition to helping us overcome our setbacks, hard work also enables us to break undesirable habits and doubts. The benefit of working hard is that it produces desired outcomes.

Hard Work Leads To Success

When I was younger, my friends used to make fun of me for not being academically gifted, and as a result, I became miserable. But I never gave up since my family never stopped supporting me. I started putting in more effort, and I had one of the best exam results in the class today. Work ethic pays off. If you work hard and have faith in yourself, you will succeed. Hard work is unquestionably the secret to success. When we put in the effort, we see success, which makes us happy and satisfied.

Benefits Of Diligence

A person who diligently exercises rarely gets sick or contracts a serious illness. Apart from this, their body stays in good shape. People who are physically healthy also remain mentally healthy, given that the mind and body are interconnected. Similarly, those who diligently practice their passion, be it music, art, cooking, and the like, tend to achieve the success they wish to, relative to those who just sit back and wish for good things to happen. Thus, hard work and diligence go hand-in-hand.

Concentration

Another crucial element of hard work is concentration. Whatever we are doing should have our complete attention for that time such that we are able to reap the maximum outcomes out of the effort we are putting in.

Thus, hard work, diligence, concentration, are members of the same family. These are essential for people to be able to create for themselves the kind of lives that they desire to have.

Essay on Hard Work for Students in English [Easy Words]

January 13, 2021 by Sandeep

Essay on Hard Work: The basic factor that leads a person to success is undoubtedly hard work. Sitting idle and waiting for the right opportunity to come our way results in no progress. It is only with a lot of hard work that a person can achieve his dreams. We have to maintain consistency in our efforts and never let laziness and boredom replace them. We should work hard to use failure as a stepping stone to success.

Essay on Hard Work 500 Words in English

Below we have provided Hard Work Essay in English, suitable for class 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 & 10.

“I’m a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work, the more I have of it.” ~ Thomas Jefferson

You can never reach your aims or goals without working hard. Hard work is defined as putting in maximum effort and showing maximum endurance. It is rightfully said that the only way you can guarantee success in your life is by working hard. It has no other substitute. A person is put on this earth, not merely to survive, but to live. While you live, you develop certain aspirations and dreams. As a human being, one has to be committed to their desires and put hard work in the path to achieving them.

Hard Work is the Key to Success

This is a famous English proverb that holds true since centuries. Success is something that everyone wants, but alas! It is not free. One has to pay the price for it by working hard. You are expected to sacrifice and struggle for success. It is okay to get only a three hour sleep, and it is entirely alright to fail at times. Hard work along the way teaches us the true meaning and value of things. It helps us respect our work and develop many great qualities. But working hard alone does not guarantee your success. You need to have faith in yourself and strong self-belief. We all are bound to fail in something sometime or the other. Don’t fear failure and see yourself climbing the staircase to success faster and faster.

Importance of Hard Work

Hard work is essential to achieve something in life. It is important and holds value because it teaches us discipline, helps us gain a purpose and bestows us with miraculous results. Hard work helps us build discipline in life. A businessman does not become a billionaire overnight. He goes through many trials and errors. It takes years for him to network and builds an empire. He slowly climbs every step of the ladder.

On the way, he learns humility and discipline. This is how he can manage his people effectively. Similarly, you cannot expect an athlete to win an Olympic medal without any practice. They have to learn endurance and resort to training for very long hours. Working hard gives us a purpose in life. It helps us overcome our laziness and procrastinating attitude. We are filled with zeal to fulfil our dreams. We develop patience and start aiming higher with every milestone achieved.

Hard work also helps us get rid of our bad habits and doubts and helps us overcome our failures. The best thing about working hard is that it gives you results. You get to measure your progress at each stage. This helps you persevere and add momentum to your life. Many people simply sit around and wait for good things to happen. But trust me, nothing great can ever come to you if you do not take action. Find strength in yourself and accomplish what you have set out to do.

English Summary

Hard Work Pays Off Essay

I have always been an average student in my class. This hurt my feelings and then I resolved that I shall study very hard and become a rank holder. I wanted to be placed among the first three at the end of each examination.

Since I have a strong will-power I worked hard all day long I paid great attention to all that the teachers taught in the class and also spent a lot of fruitful time in studying in the library.

At home too I would sit down at my study table for hours before going to play with my friends. I was confident of my position in the examinations. I managed to score high marks and to my delight, the class teacher announced my grade in the class.

While she went on reading out each student’s marks I sat with bated breath. I waited expectantly for my name and she saw my anxiety. She put an end to my impatience and informed us that I had topped in the class with the highest marks in all the subjects.

That day was indeed the beginning of a change in my life. A gold medal was awarded to me at the school annual day for my performance.

In fact, I got two medals-one for securing the highest marks and the other for a very commendable effort considering the fact that I have always been an average student.

As a walked up to the dais where the chief guest at the annual day was handing over the prizes and medals my heart swelled with pride. I glanced at my parents who were sitting among the audience and it filled me with warmth to see them smiling with delight at my achievement.

That memorable day has remained in my memory ever since that day and I now realize that one can achieve almost anything if he has the will and determination.

Although this incident occurred a year ago, I have not forgotten it and it shall continue to give me strength wherever I strive to achieve some feat that I otherwise may consider impossible.

Personal Narrative Essay: Hard Work Pays Off

From practice to solos; concerts, private lessons, and auditions; I believe hard work pays off. I have been playing the violin since 5th grade, and this year as a freshman I am in the Advanced Orchestra. I have been taking private lessons for three years and I believe they are the reason I am in the Advanced Orchestra. The violin takes much hard work and dedication. It involves repetition, memorization, and physical maneuverability. The violin is a very rewarding instrument, the more work you put into it, the more you get out of it.

I remember one day in lessons, everything just clicked. The notes seemed to fly right off my fingers. My scales were crisp and clean. My vibrato was powerful and rich. My performance piece sounded clear and strong. It is moments like those that make me remember how much I love the violin even through all the tough practicing moments.

I have performed multiple solos for judges and audiences. Each time I am less and less nervous and I thank lessons and practice for giving me the confidence to do better each time. My first solo, I was shaking and missed a few notes. Every solo after has greatly improved and I am proud of how far I have come. After my first solo, I was unsatisfied with how I played, so when it was time for another performance I practiced even more so I could be confident and proud of my abilities. When I take the stage, under the bright lights with all of the eyes watching me, I am more confident than the first time. It has become easier to play my piece from memory without any mistakes and with emotion. I sound my best when I block out the staring eyes and just play. Walking off the stage is the best feeling after a strong performance, my confidence is higher and I am usually so happy with how I played.

Being in an Advanced Orchestra is very intimidating because I am the only freshman and surrounded by amazing, talented musicians. The intimidation makes me want to work harder and improve to be at their level. I hope to one day be first chair violin and as gifted as they are. Becoming as skilled as them will take much hard work and dedication, but I know that when I become that talented I will feel very accomplished and proud.

Playing the violin has shown that the harder one works the more rewarded they are. With the violin, you must put in the work to see the results you would like.  I did not expect to be the only freshman in the Advanced Orchestra. This one small example in my life proved to me that everything takes work, and hard work at that. I can bring this experience with me throughout my life to achieve everything I want to when I put the work in. I believe that anything I work hard for, I can accomplish.

THE REAL REASON HARD WORK IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS

' src=

We all want to be successful in life, or at least most of us do. We want to achieve and grow and become better human beings. However, there is a requirement of success that can be summed up in two words… HARD WORK. That’s right, hard work and success go hand in hand. Why? Because…

“Hard Work Beats Talent When Talent Doesn’t Work Hard.” – Tim Notke –

Hard work and success are intertwined, and the only way to reap the latter is to do the former. The issue for many is that hard work is challenging, and it requires persistence and dedication.

To become successful though, we need to put in the hours and be willing to trust the process. There really is no way around this fact.

The good news for you, is that many people are not willing to work really hard. Convenience, ease, and stability is what most people default to. Especially when they don’t enjoy their jobs or when they feel like their careers or business ventures are stagnating.

Most people will eventually just stop caring and gradually only do what is absolutely necessary. No doubt this is a tragedy for those who would shirk off the value of hard work. But, it is an opportunity for you, and anyone else who is willing to do the work, the hard work.

It is true; hard work is not easy or comfortable; however, obtaining success without it is virtually impossible. With that said, if you want to learn exactly why hard work is the key to success, and a few things you can do to fully embrace hard work and make it work for you, then read on.

Why Hard Work Is The Key To Success

Why Hard Work Is The Key to Success

The thing with hard work and success is that both take a significant amount of time and effort. You have to spend a lot of time working hard for success to build up over time gradually. So you’ll have to decide if you’ll want to endure the pain of hard work and reap the rewards, or look back and regret never having tried? That said, here are some points to consider before you make your choice.

1. Everything Comes At A Price

Success, for the vast majority of people, does not come without a fee. That fee is hard work. People who have reached various levels of success in their lives understand that there is no return without dedication and sacrifice.

You have to wake up early and head to work even when you do not feel like it. You have to push past the obstacles and hold the goal in your mind, realizing that each step forward is one closer to achieving it.

2. Hard Work Helps You Make Your Luck

If you are an average Joe and simply idle your way through life, you are likely just a spectator waiting for something to happen or fall into your lap. The truth of the matter is that the odds of this happening are improbable.

hard work always pays essay

You need to have goals, dreams, and ambitions, and not only that, you need to have the drive to set them into motion. Success will not happen overnight, but with the right amount of persistence and hard work, the better one’s luck tends to be.

When opportunities come your way, do not let them pass you by; grab hold of them.

3. Hard Work Helps You Develop Values

When you adopt the mindset of a hard worker, other things begin to develop. You start to persevere where others would find it too difficult and quit. You begin to form an appreciation for what you have but will constantly be taking action to ensure better things materialize.

But most importantly, you stop blaming others for your circumstances and instead seek to find a way to overcome. Laziness becomes a thing of the past, and so does procrastination. You realize that time is of the essence, and these things were holding you back.

Additionally, you begin to have fewer insecurities, and the fear of failure dissipates.

4. Hard Work Fosters Discipline

It is not always going to be easy, and some days even the most driven people may be tempted to give up and throw in the towel, but that is where discipline comes into play. Discipline ensures that you still get up and face the day regardless of how big the challenge seems.

You always give your best, and you are determined to see the result.

As time passes, you’ll realize how much you have already invested in your dreams, and you’ll grow in confidence. You’ll realize that what you have given up to be where you are is not worth giving up on; you have come too far to give up any ground.

5. You Reap What You Sow

If you invest money over time, eventually, it will begin to accumulate, and you will have an extensive portfolio. The same goes for hard work, as you reap what you sow .

As you exert energy each day and focus on your goals, you are consistently investing in your future success, and over time you will begin to see the progress you have made.

As you begin to see the strides you have made, it will compel you to push on and realize that you will ultimately reach the place you want to be if you continue on this trajectory. You will begin to feel a sense of accomplishment and pride in your work, and this will help encourage you to continue on.

Things To Focus On To Capitalize On Hard Work

how to work hard

Hard work will undoubtedly help you advance in life, and fending off things like laziness, excuses , and procrastination are key. However, there are other things that you need to be doing in conjunction with working hard to ensure that you truly reach your potential.

1. Work Smart

Many people out there slave away day and night, yet they still do not earn much or achieve the goals they have set for themselves. This is likely because they lack the knowledge and education to properly utilize their efforts to reach a better space.

If you are in a job you hope to grow in, you need to be constantly learning. So, work hard on the job, but also, be sure you are also working hard to learn more and find solutions that would give you an advantage in your pursuits.

Jim Rohn , the great business philosopher once said, “Learn to work harder on yourself than you do on your job. If you work hard on your job you can make a living, but if you work hard on yourself you’ll make a fortune.” His wisdom still rings true today.

2. Create Opportunities

Now many people are well educated and understand the ins and outs of what they do. However, they lack the opportunities to help propel them forward.

hard work always pays essay

In this case, you need to work hard on networking and interpersonal skills to help sway people to want to give you opportunities.

Embracing the philosophy of hard work is more than just working hard physically, it is also about working hard to improve your soft skills and your ability to take action. Doing so will open up all sorts of opportunities for you.

So, work hard on the skills that would increase opportunities for you.

3. Plan To Succeed

For your hard work to pay off, you need to put plans in place to ensure that you will succeed. Gain as much knowledge as you can about your field, constantly seek new opportunities and partnerships, and then make plans on how you can use that knowledge to capitalize on those opportunities.

Hard work without planning won’t lead nowhere, you’ll make some progress. But, when you throw some good planning into the mix, you can dramatically reduce the timeframe and effort required to accomplish your goals .

4. Conquer Your Fears

Many challenges will come our way in our pursuits, and one of the bigger challenges that we must face is fear, especially fear of the future. Instead of pretending that it is not there, learn to overcome your aversions and realize that things like failure are merely a part of what will help you grow into a better version of yourself.

If you’re willing to work hard, but not willing to seize certain opportunities due to a lack of confidence or your fear of failure, then you’ll stifle your progress. So, work hard on becoming fearless, and you’ll make clearing the anxiety-inducing obstacles much more conquerable.

5. Learn To Believe In Yourself

One thing that often hinders people from working hard and succeeding is the curse of self-doubt. If you constantly believe that your efforts will be in vain, they will likely manifest in this way.

Similarly, if you doubt your efforts will get you anywhere, you’ll be less likely to do your best work. And if you doubt that you deserve the fruits of your labor because of a lack of belief in yourself , you’ll handicap your efforts.

Instead, know your strengths and improve on your weaknesses so that you can foster confidence in yourself and your work. The more confident and self-assured you become, the harder you’ll work.

Whether we like it or not, we all need to work in life to earn our keep, but for some, they’ll go above and beyond this, and they’ll push further than others to ultimately achieve success. Yes, work is not always pleasant, but it is how we get to where we want to be, regardless of what field we are in.

So remember, hard work is the key to success. The harder you work on your job, business, or creative pursuits, and the more willing you are to take on new challenges and work hard to learn new things, the more likely you’ll grow to reap the massive opportunities that are bound to come your way.

Hard Work Leads to Success

You won’t regret how hard you worked once you’ve achieved the success you were after. But, if you sit back, take it easy, and watch life pass you by, you most certainly will. So aim high and work your tail off, because success is achieved through hard work.

10 WAYS TO ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS IN 2024

' src=

Setting goals is a crucial part of success. No matter what you want to achieve in life, be it in your career, relationships, or in business, identifying what you want to achieve and then making a plan to move toward that destination is one of the most important steps of all.

When you know what you want and the exact outcome you desire, you can then create a plan and take action to get there. This is why setting goals works. Extraordinary people are able to produce amazing results in life because they have a clear goal that they want to achieve in mind. They know what they want, and then they get to work on their goals, every single day.

With that being said, if you want to master yourself, achieve greater results in life, and ultimately make your dreams a reality, you’ll need to learn how to set and achieve your goals. So, here the top 10 ways to achieve your goals in 2024. Enjoy!

Top 10 Ways To Achieve Your Goals This Year

Best Tips to Achieve Your Goals

1. Always Keep Your Goals in Your Mind

One of the most common reasons why some people fail at their goals while others succeed at them, is that those who successfully achieved their goals are really adept at keeping their goals top of mind.

Of course, this is easier said than done. But, it is backed up by the one of the most well-known success phrases of all-time…“You become what you think about most of the time”. It’s a phrase that conveys the fact that your life is organized around your thoughts. Hence, your dominant thoughts will determine how you will live your life.

If you always think about having not enough money, guess what, you will not be having enough money. You will find it hard to come up with extra money and there are always more days left at the end of the money.

Your thoughts dictate your life. Tony Robbins once said, “Where you focus goes, energy flows”, thus, if you always think about your goals and focus on them, that’s what you will create in your life. So, always choose to consciously think about your goals.

This is why you need to write down your goals, review them, visualize them, and see yourself achieve them. Make a vision board for your goals if you want to.

2. Make Sure Your Goals Align With Your Inner Values

Next up on the list of top 10 ways to achieve your goals is to ensure they align with your values. Yes, you have to make sure your goals align with your inner values. You don’t want to set a goal that is not in harmony with your values.

For example, if you are someone who values security more than adventure, setting a goal like traveling alone around the world may not work for you. Even if you force yourself to do it, you will not enjoy the progress and the experience.

Here’s another example, many people set income goals. And if money isn’t their main purpose, their goals will never work. They will find it hard to come up with the drive to put themselves into action and they will find ways to sabotage their own success.

This is what happens when your goals conflict with your values. Instead, learn to set goals that align with your inner values. Set goals that make your heart sing.

3. Make Your Goals Measurable

Are your goals measurable? Most people set very general and vague goals like, “I want to become rich”, or “I want to be happy”, etc., but these goals are vague, and they are not measurable.

Let me ask you, if your goal is to live a happy life, how do you know when you have achieved it? That’s the problem. When your goal isn’t measurable, you will never know when you have reached it.

So, make your goals quantifiable. Make them measurable so that you can tell when you have reached them. Plus, when something is measurable, you can then come up with a specific action plan to achieve it.

If your goals are not measurable, you will work day and night without knowing if you have reached them.

4. Identify the Lead Measures

Lead measure is an important measure of your goals. Most people focus on their main target or the results they want, but they don’t focus on their lead measures, and this is why they fail.

Your lead measures are the measures that directly impact the results of your goals.

For instance, if your goal is to lose weight, the two main lead measures are exercise and diet. How much time do you spend to exercise each week? And do you track your diet and calorie intake?

You see, these two measures will directly impact your goal of losing weight. If you want to achieve your goal, then all you need to do is to focus on the two lead measures: exercise and diet.

And you hit your exercise and diet target, you will automatically reach your weight loss goal.

Here’s another classic example. If you want to increase your sales, what should you do? You focus on prospecting and presentation. The more prospects you present to, the higher your number of sales. Therefore, the number of prospects you approach, and sales presentation you deliver are the two lead measures you must work on.

When you achieved your lead measure goals, you will achieve your main goal, which is to increase your sales. So, focus and work on the lead measures.

5. Focus on Making Progress

Next, don’t always think about your goals and the results, when it comes to maintaining your momentum, you need to focus on making progress.

As a blogger, one of my goals is to build a huge responsive subscribers list from my blog. But if I focus on the result, the number of subscribers I get each day, I’m going to fail. Why? When I first started, my blog is new and there are no visitors and subscribers.

So, if I think about my goal of having a ton of subscribers, I will feel dejected, lose my motivation, and eventually give up on my blog. Instead, I choose to focus on making progress.

I know that if I want to grow my subscribers, I will need to publish new articles consistently. Hence, I focus on publishing content. Every time I published a new article, I celebrate and reward myself. I feel good about it and it drives me to continue publishing new content.

And so, day after day, I make progress. And slowly, the number of visitors to my blog increases, and the same goes for my number of subscribers.

Can you notice the difference? Having a goal is important, but to achieve your goal, you need to make progress. Hence, it is more important to focus on the progress than to only think about your goals and do nothing.

Let your progress motivate you and get you to your goals.

6. Work on Improving Yourself Every Day

There is no way you can achieve your goals if you don’t improve yourself. You are where you are because of what you know and what you do. If you want to get to a new place, you need to do something different, and that requires you to improve yourself.

I love to give an example of playing games. If the character in your game is at level 3 and you need to fight a level 5 enemy, you will find the enemy difficult to beat. But as you play the game, gain better experience, and level up your character, say to level 8, the same level 5 enemy will be easy to beat.

Therefore, work on improving your level. When the size of you increase, the problem will become a small problem.

It is the size of you that matters, not the size of the problem. If you think you are having a big problem right now, it is because the size of you is small. You must learn to improve yourself so that the problems become no problem for you.

7. Set Goals That Are Fun and Exciting

Think about it, if something isn’t fun or exciting, will you have the motivation to achieve it? Obviously, the answer is no. But unfortunately, that’s what most people do. They set goals that are not fun or exciting to them.

You have to understand that if you want to achieve your goals, your goals must be fun and exciting so that you will want to wake up each morning and work on them. If your goals are boring and uninspiring, you will choose to continue to sleep than to wake up and chase them.

Set a goal that makes your heart sing. Be passionate about your goals and make sure you are excited when you think, talk, and work on your goals .

8. Make Your Goals Challenging

Besides making your goals fun and exciting, you must also make them challenging. Why? Because that’s the only way you can grow.

You see, Albert Einstein once said, “A ship is safe at the harbor, but that’s not why it is built for.” Your life is meant to be fun, exciting, and challenging. You want to live a remarkable life, isn’t it? Hence, make your goals challenging.

Think about it, if you are currently earning $5,000 a month, making an additional $100 isn’t going to make you jump out of your bed in the morning. What you want is to have a goal that is challenging and inspiring.

You want your goals to force you out of your comfort zone so that you can grow and become someone better, and worthy of the goals.

9. Take Baby Steps Each Day

It doesn’t matter how big your goals or how difficult they are, as long as you take baby steps and make progress each day, you will eventually get to your goals.

The key is in making progress every day. You can’t achieve your goals by thinking about them, you need to do something.

There is a saying, “If you swing the ax five times, every day, eventually the tree will fall.” Yes, no matter how big the tree, if you just swing an ax at it just five times a day, it will eventually fall.

The same principle applies to your life and your goals. As long as you take action and persist in working on your goals every day, you will eventually arrive at your destination.

Therefore, be consistent. Commit to taking at least 5 baby steps each day, and trust me, you will achieve your goals faster than you thought possible.

10. Believe in Your Goals and Trust Yourself That You Can Do It

Last up on this list of the 10 ways to achieve your goals is related to belief. You need to believe in your goals and trust yourself that you can do it. First, you must believe that your goals are possible. And second, you must trust that you can achieve them.

When you truly believe you can achieve your goals, you will do whatever it takes to reach them. Think about why people buy lottery tickets. Well, it is because they believe that they stand a chance to win, right? If you don’t believe you stand a chance to win, you will never bother buying the lottery ticket.

The same goes for your goals. When you believe that you can achieve them, you will do it with a 100% commitment rather than a half-hearted attempt.

Therefore, believe that your goals are possible and trust that you can achieve them.

There is no way you are going to achieve your goals if you all you do is sit there and do nothing. Reading this article is good because it helps you understand what you need to do to achieve the results you want, but until you implement the knowledge and take action , nothing is going to happen.

“Dream Big, Start Small, But Most Of All, Start.” – Simon Sinek –

“People Often Say That Motivation Doesn’t Last. Well, Neither Does Bathing – That’s Why We Recommend It Daily.” – Zig Ziglar –

What is Motivation?

Before we get into the rankings, let’s briefly discuss what motivation is.  Why?  Because clarity leads to awareness, awareness leads to better decisions, and better decisions leads to better results.

One of our favorite definitions of motivation, is simply, “Motivation is the driving force by which humans achieve their goals.” We like it because it sums up why we all want to be motivated.   We all want to achieve something.

Success Motivation Defined

Another great definition of motivation is “Motivation as the state or condition of being motivated or having a strong reason to act or accomplish something.”

Both definitions speak to the fact that most people want to be motivated to achieve.  They both demonstrate that we all wish accomplish those things we’ve made up their minds to do, and know that feeling motivated plays a big part in how much success we find.

The Ranking

In the past the ranking used for these motivational blogs was acquired by using Alexa rankings; however, Alexa was unplugged last year. As such we’ve employed a different ranking methodology for this year’s list. The rankings below have been determined by the popularity of each site. We’ve compiled an estimated monthly search volume for each site listed using the combined services of Ahrefs, SEMRush, and UberSuggest.

Now, we know traffic doesn’t necessarily convey how “motivational” a blog or site is, but it does demonstrate a level of value that the market and search engines have placed on them, which is why we’ve chosen to use monthly traffic as a ranking factor.

With that being said, the rankings on this resource page may change over the course of the year, as traffic volumes for sites change seasonally.  Also, some of the motivational sites listed may be ranked lower than you’d expect based off your own experience with the brand, but that’s because the site’s listed below do not account for a blogs/brands YouTube traffic and audience.

At the moment, this is the most comprehensive list of motivational blogs on the internet for 2024. So, check each of them out, and allow them to keep you fired up to unleash your potential daily.

Without further ado, here is your list:

I had a mentor in my younger years who would always tell people about this special poem his father had him memorize while he was growing up.

The father posted this special poem on their fridge so that he and his brother could see the words from this poem every single day before going to school.  You could say it was the father’s way of ensuring his kids realized the importance of taking action and striving to realize their life’s potential.

A Story of Action

This is what the poem read:

“Spring has past, summer has gone and winter is here…. And the song that I was meant to sing…. remains unsung, for I have spent my days stringing and unstringing my instrument.”

That poem was powerful because it was written by a man whose heart was filled with regret over living a life half lived.  It’s was written by a man who was always getting ready to sing the great song of his life, he was always getting ready to start achieving, he was always getting ready to start fulfilling all the possibilities of what his life was meant be…but he got busy being busy.  He didn’t take action, and so his life became a story of inaction.

Unfortunately, far too many people can relate to this poem. Far too many people have already become stuck in a similar cycle of never getting started on “that thing”, be it a dream, a desire, or that goal that really stirs their heart.

The result?

Potential unrealized.  Happiness unrealized.  A great and fulfilling life… unrealized.

If you’re reading this, and you feel like you’ve been waiting on the sidelines of life for far too long, perhaps today is the day you stop stringing and unstringing your instrument .  Perhaps today is the day you stop waiting and start doing .  The day that you decide your story will be a story of action.

Here’s Your Nudge

So is it?  Is today the day you start taking action on all the things you want for you and your life? If you’re not sure, let me nudge you in the right direction. Here are some of the best stop waiting quotes and quotes about taking action. If you’re ready to get off your couch and into action let’s dive right in:

Hard Work Always Pays (Essay Sample) 2023

If all people in the world could engage their minds to work relentlessly and persistently under all circumstances, the word poverty would have become a history. Every hour becomes productive simply because nobody entertains laziness. Making every second count enables people to overcome all impossible obstacles and the throwbacks in lives. To work hard is to be responsible for everything done regardless of being watched or not. No pain, no gain is a phrase mostly used to steer people to great success. The phrase teaches resilience in all undertakings that everyone must strive to earn something in spite of the harsh conditions.

A story is told of Arthur, an African young man who despite all his parents being alive, they meant nothing to him. They had no idea of how he clothed, ate, or went to school. Being humble parents does not give anyone a right to neglect parental responsibilities. The struggles he encountered in his lifetime were visible to every student in his class. He wore a torn uniform, walked to school barefooted.

Rising at the crack of dawn has never been anybody`s cup of tea, but Arthur, young as he was could do it. He used to supply water to an industry located at a distance of five kilometers away from his home before going to school to cater for his needs, school fees included. His father neglected him completely. He used to work at the construction site, and the little money he could earn will be spent on alcohol and cigarettes. At times, he could come home late to find Arthur doing his homework. He could kick him off the table and implant himself their smoking somberly on a sofa. Arthur could just go and strain in his dark room.

To utter surprise, teachers could punish him thoroughly whenever he came to school late. This was in spite of them being aware of the adverse hardships he was undergoing. Nevertheless, he has never pushed away from his academic excellence. He kept his faith towards his goal. Nobody in the entire class could beat him academically. Generosity was his great virtue, being always there to uplift the weak in class anytime he was consulted. He never wanted his colleagues to suffer while he was around.

Everything that has beginning will at some point end. He sat for his final exam, and as many expected, he passed so well. He attracted so many well-wishers who promised to sponsor him in advance level. Their small sluggish rental house was flooded with different brands of vehicles. Everyone was eager to know the little hero who proved, so genius to break all records nationwide. Their little room was filled to the brim with different types of gifts.

Several years later, Arthur graduated as a neurosurgeon from one of the top university in the world. His father kept on with his drunkenness, and as he was on his way towards home, a fast moving vehicle hit him, breaking his both legs and damaging his head badly. The local medical experts referred him to an international hospital. Coincidentally, that was where Arthur had been posted. He wept bitterly seeing his dad in such condition and promised to do his best to restore him back. Three months later, he was discharged. Tears of joy misted his vision when he learnt that his son was able to cure him. From then henceforth, he promised never to take alcohol.

Through his hard work, perseverance, and determination, Arthur made to his destiny despite all the challenges he encountered. Paying attention to a problem is digging a grave to enter anytime. Success never comes on a silver platter but through hard work. Nobody was meant to stay in every situation permanently, change is inevitable.

Desirée Rieckenberg lifts students in need

The Massey Award winner and dean of students is always on call to help them navigate difficult situations.

Desiree Rieckenberg posing on UNC Campus.

Desirée Rieckenberg’s passion for helping students began when she was in their shoes.

Rieckenberg, the UNC-Chapel Hill dean of students, was a first-generation college student from a rural community when she arrived for her first year at Eastern Illinois University. She was forced to do a lot on her own as she learned how to navigate campus life.

Fortunately, she met people who invested in her when things were good but also supported her when they weren’t. That experience stuck with her and is something she still draws on today.

“The notion of working in a space that allows me to lift up and celebrate folks, and also support people as they navigate something, really rang true to me,” she said.

For helping students in many situations across her 12 years at Carolina, Rieckenberg was given a 2024 Massey Award . The honor recognizes “unusual, meritorious or superior” contributions by University employees.

Rieckenberg sees most of her work at what she calls intersections of the student experience, key moments that include anything from taking a leadership role in a student organization, struggling to pass a class or having a mental health challenge. From there, she strives to help support their success at Carolina.

Nominators highlighted her work creating the Care Team , which meets weekly to assist students experiencing challenges that threaten to disrupt academic progress, and partnering with the Office of Scholarship and Student Aid on a new financial literacy initiative. Carolina hired its first director of financial well-being this spring.

Additionally, Rieckenberg was praised as a “relentless champion” of the Carolina Veterans Resource Center, a “committed collaborator” and an unselfish servant leader who creates a culture of trust within her office.

Her team has grown over the last several years as it serves more students, particularly in times of crisis and emergency. No matter the situation, Rieckenberg keeps the individual student at the forefront.

“Carolina may be a big place, but Carolina should be a place where they feel like they are family and that they’re cared for,” she said.

The nature of her job means she’s as likely to get a call at 3 a.m. as she is at 3 p.m. She’s the primary contact for students going through traumatic life events ranging from the death of a loved one, a serious injury or significant financial setback.

She credits the people around her for helping juggle those difficult situations.

“It comes down to being able to surround yourself with good people and really talented people, and being able to have a supportive family and personal life that allows me to do those things,” Rieckenberg said. “I have a fantastic team of people who do the work and who surround me in a way that lifts up the things we’re doing in support of students. I have a fantastic partner, and I have two kids I’ve had since I’ve been in this role. They have come up in the space that they understand the work I do is important, that it helps and serves so many people.”

Rieckenberg was speechless when told of her Massey Award. She was drawn to this work because she saw its impact first-hand, as a student. She’s humbled to know others see that, too.

“It touches your heart in a way that recognizes an impact,” she said. “That’s really how I got into this work, because I had people who poured into me and created an impactful experience for me. And I continue to do this work with the hope that I can be impactful on our students and our campus and colleagues.”
