There is no concession for SC/ST students in IIM A, B and C. But this is not a major issue.

IIMs offer a lot of financial aid services to financially weak people. In some cases, the entire fee is paid by the college or some part. It depends on the judgment of the panel on the basis of your situation.

All IIMs offer educational loans at a relatively low interest rate. Banks usually consider IIM students as a profitable investment. So rather than worrying about the money, focus more on your goals.

Which is best -MBA in finance from ISB Hyderabad or top IIMS A/B/C?

Pratima Khatri

ISB Hyderabad is known for its lack of specialization in Finance. It’s a common understanding now that even if one is preferring ISB Hyderabad for admission, they know that they should go for anything but Finance. Studying some aspects will give you a deeper insight as to why MBA in Finance from ISB Hyderabad is not recommended.

Faculty: Although the visiting faculty is quite decent, it’s the domestic faculty that has ruined the culture at ISB. They are arrogant, pathetic, and extremely incapable. They insult the students regularly and disturb student-teacher relations.

Placements: The roles offered in Finance were below average like Operations, Sales, and BD roles. Such roles were offered in abundance by the banks or start-ups. However, the superior roles like IB/PE/VC/M&A/FP&A/Equity Research/Credit Rating/Asset Management/TAS were offered scarcely. For instance

  • only 10 FP and A roles were allotted that too only to CAs
  • Only one Investment banking role was offered by Barclays
  • Only 5 PE/bc roles were offered and there was a strong preference for a prior IB/PE/VC experience and IIT undergraduate background.
  • One M and A role was offered only
  • 4 Asset Management and zero Equity Research and Credit Rating roles were offered.

So the best roles were offered limitedly while the batch size stood at 900. Most students ended up with unsatisfactory placements. Now you can decide whether or not to join if you are confident to face the placement scenario.

What are the best courses to take in IIM Bangalore?

IIM Bangalore offers a variety of courses to cater to the needs of all its students.

The ones I found most useful are-

  • Consumer Behaviour by Prof. S. Ramesh Kumar- This is the best course according to me, irrespective of the subjects of your interest. This topic is important for every business in the world.
  • Brand Management by Prof. YLR Moorthy
  • General Commercial Knowledge by Prof. Shankar Subramoney- This course is all about the most essential laws and contractual agreements.

Apart from this, here are some professors whose style of teaching and depth of knowledge is unparalleled-

  • Prof. Dinesh Kumar
  • Prof. Anshuman Tripathy
  • HR by Prof. Vasanthi
  • Prof. Mulky

Research a bit on these courses, and find some information on the above listed professors.

How good is the IIM Bangalore Business Analytics Program?

Sugandhi Sood

IIM Bangalore belongs to the holy trinity of MBA colleges in India, i.e., IIM A,B,C. PGDBA is meant for people interested in the field of Business Analytics or Data Science. It is also a good option for working professionals who wish to progress in their Business Analytics career.

The curriculum is designed to make the students understand important concepts related to Data Science and Technology, and their role in Business Management. All the PGDBA candidates at IIM Bangalore are eligible for placements and summer internships.

The demand for Business Analytics is only growing, and IIM Bangalore is the best brand to learn such a high demand course.

How good is P3M course in IIM Bangalore?

PPPM or Project Program & Portfolio Management is an excellent short-duration course offered by IIM Bangalore. This executive education program selects only 20 candidates each term. The course is for

  •  Candidates with work experience
  •  Candidates currently in middle management to senior management roles.

The program comprises faculty dinners, case study discussions, case study analyses, discussions about real-life management issues, group presentations, and other problem-solving discussions.

The faculty for this program is extremely supportive and helps you throughout the course.

How can you compare ISB’s CBA vs IIM Bangalore’s BAI courses?

Debapriya Bhattacharya

Both ISB’s CBA and IIM Bangalore’s BAI are vastly different from one another. The following are some of the advantages and disadvantages of both. CBA at ISB:

  • Global Faculty and a very good campus are available to CBA students for the entire year, just like PGP students.
  • Very good networking opportunity with 100+ batch as you live on campus with them sharing food, time, and fun.
  • As the 5th batch of CBA graduates, the alumni base is strong.
  • Except for tutorials, the teaching method is primarily offline.
  • Prof Shailesh, Prof Sarang Deo, Prof Arun, and Prof Sudhir Voleti are some of the best faculty in the market.
  • ISB Brand Value because ISB promotes this course as a full-time option.
  • One of the main factors is the high cost.
  • They should raise prices slightly and offer more career opportunities.

IIM B or L:

  • Global Faculty and Excellent Peers
  • IIM Brand Worth.
  • More suitable for working people is the online method.
  • In comparison to ISB, the fees are minor.
  • You are not permitted to stay on campus, which limits your opportunities to network with your peers.
  • Although IIM promotes this as an executive course, it is more appropriate to take it offline because concepts are difficult to grasp online.

Is it worth doing an E MBA from IIM Bangalore? I work as SSE. I make around 50 lakhs per annum, age 32 and I have a B Com.

If you measure the worth of a degree by its salary, you will never be satisfied, and I recommend that you do not pursue an MBA. Money is only one of many factors to consider before beginning an MBA program. The salary you have is something that most people do not get even after an MBA/Executive MBA; average salary packages range between Rs. 22 and Rs. 25 lakhs. You are already earning twice as much.

If you want to advance your knowledge of business/strategy/finance/organizational behavior and advance to a higher position where you can have a significant impact, an MBA is unquestionably a good option. However, there is no guarantee that you will earn more than 50 lakhs after completing your EMBA. Go for it if you want to learn and are willing to take a pay cut after your MBA. Don't do it if you're only in it for the money. You could invest in the stock market and watch your money double over time. MBA does not magically transform 50 lakhs into 1 crore.

What are the fees at the IIM Bangalore?

Nikhil Ranjan

For Indian PGP students, the total fee for 2 years at IIM Bangalore is Rs. 24.5 Lakhs.

This fee covers Tuition, Library, Internet, Case Permission Royalty, Course Material, Hostel Room Rent and Service Charge, Medical Insurance, Personal Accident Insurance and Alumni Activity.

A caution deposit of Rs.15,000 is to be paid one-time, during registration. This deposit is not included in the total fee and is to be paid separately. Along with it, Rs. 5,000 is to be paid as hostel deposit during the same time. Additionally, a mess advance of Rs. 30,000 is to be paid each term.

The entire amount does not include Service Tax or other taxes, which if applicable, will be collected from the students accordingly. Hostel is provided for PGP students, but one can opt to live outside the campus in the second year.

Nandi Hills In Karnataka: What To See, Do, And Eat

What to see, do, and eat while visiting the Nandi Hills In Karnataka

Nandi Hills, located just 60 kilometers from Bengaluru in Karnataka , is a popular weekend getaway for Bengaluru folks. This hill station is known for its panoramic views, especially the stunning sunrise over the misty hills. Visitors can explore the ancient temples, Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace, and the serene Amrit Sarovar Lake. Adventure enthusiasts will enjoy trekking and paragliding, while nature lovers can revel in the rich biodiversity. The lush greenery and pleasant climate make Nandi Hills a refreshing escape from the city's hustle and bustle, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty and historical significance. Here is a guide to what to see, do and where to stay and eat in Nandi Hills.

Things To Do And See In Nandi Hills

Tipu's summer residence.

History enthusiasts can head out to explore the ruins of the summer retreat of Tipu Sultan, also known as Tashk-e-Jannat. Initiated by Haidar Ali and concluded during the reign of Tipu Sultan in 1791, the palace's name translates to 'envy of heaven.' Admission is INR 15 for Indian visitors and INR 200 for foreigners.

Hours: 8:30 am to 5:30 pm daily.

Tipu's Drop Point

Perched atop a 600-meter-high cliff, Tipu's Drop boasts awe-inspiring vistas and a haunting past. Legend has it that this was where prisoners met their fate at the hands of Tipu Sultan's army, the formidable ruler of Mysore. Additionally, it offers an unrivalled vantage point for experiencing the sweeping panoramic beauty of the Nandi Hills. In fact, you will see many viewpoints across the hills from where you can check out the valleys below.

Bhoga Nandeeshwara Temple

Located at the base of the scenic Nandi Hills, this sacred temple is devoted to Bhoganandishwara and Yoganandeeshwara. Bhoga Nandeeshwara Temple is also known as the Nandi Temple. It showcases stunning architecture and intricately carved sabha-mandapa, with inscriptions and artwork reflecting Shaivism, Vaishnavism, Shaktism, and Vedic deities. The temples offer a serene and peaceful environment, making it a truly captivating experience for all visitors.

Go Paragliding

Seeking adventure? Embark on an exhilarating ride on a powered paraglider for an unforgettable experience. The scenic hills will serve as a magnificent backdrop, offering captivating views of the picturesque countryside below. Plan your paragliding experience in Nandi Hills between October and March for optimal wind conditions and clear skies.

Cycling In The Hills

Experience the beauty of the hills on a guided cycling tour that unveils the rich history and culture of the valley. Choose from tours with different difficulty levels. The Treasures of Nandi Cycling Trail is a route that leads through enchanting woodlands, misty mountains, and picturesque countryside. Don't miss the chance to discover the historical village of Nandi nestled at the foothills.

 Yoganandishwara Temple

The Yoganandishwara Temple, situated atop the picturesque Nandi Hills, is a stunning example of the Chola architectural style. The majestic entrance to the garbhagriha (sanctum sanctorum) is adorned with intricately designed brass-covered doors flanked by impressive dwarapalakas (door keepers) on either side. Legend has it that these remarkable doorkeeper images were presented as gifts by Krishnadevaraya, the illustrious ruler of the Vijayanagara Empire.

Amrita Sarovar

Nourished by perennial springs that gracefully contribute to its pristine waters, the lake serves as a crucial lifeline, supplying water to the entire region. This natural wonder is a sanctuary for nature enthusiasts, offering an opportunity to marvel at the diverse avian population that has found a home by its tranquil shores.

Go On A Trek

Skandagiri, a renowned trekking destination, is about 70 km from Bangalore and just 3 km from Chikballapur. This picturesque hill provides a stunning overlook of the Nandi Hills and the surrounding landscape. The trek, spanning approximately 8 km, offers a diverse terrain and is considered suitable for novice and experienced trekkers. The journey takes about 4 to 8 hours, allowing trekkers to immerse themselves in the natural beauty at their own pace. The panoramic views from the hilltop are nothing short of breathtaking, especially during the awe-inspiring sunrise. To embark on this memorable adventure, trekkers are required to obtain permission from the forest department and can conveniently book their trek online through Karnataka Eco-tourism.

Another option is Channagiri, a captivating trek in the Nandi Hills area. This 3km hike, reaching an elevation of approximately 1,350m, promises a breathtaking panoramic view and an intimate encounter with the terrain. Winter mists add a touch of magic to the landscape. Explore this enchanting terrain post-monsoon (September to February) when it's adorned with lush shrubs and thorny bushes. Despite some steep points at a 70° angle, the overall trek is surprisingly manageable and immensely rewarding.

Where To Eat And Stay In Nandi Hills

You will find a variety of resorts, campsites, and homestays to choose from. Hotel Mayura Pine Top, managed by KSTDC, offers a fantastic option if you prefer to stay on top of the hills. Numerous dining options are available around Nandi Hills. Embark on a delightful culinary journey by starting your day with an assortment of delectable South Indian breakfast options at the charming eateries near the foothill. Wander through the vibrant local stalls that showcase an array of classic North Indian favourites, including mouthwatering parathas stuffed with aromatic fillings like spiced potatoes and paneer.

The Information

How to reach nandi hills.

Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru is conveniently located near the destination, around 60km away. Transportation options abound, whether you prefer the convenience of a bus, the flexibility of a taxi, or the comfort of a private car. The nearest railway station, Chikkaballapur, is about 19 km away, providing easy access to the hill station via well-connected roads.

Best Time To Visit Nandi Hills

The best time to visit Nandi Hills is from September to February. During this period, the weather is cool and pleasant, with temperatures between 10°C and 25°C, making it ideal for outdoor activities like trekking and sightseeing. The monsoon season (June to August) brings moderate rainfall, making the hills lush and green but making the trails slippery. Winter months, particularly early mornings, offer breathtaking views of mist-covered valleys and sunrises, creating a serene atmosphere. Avoid the summer months (March to May) as temperatures rise, making it less comfortable for exploring.
