Being the capital city, it is a place of national importance and all news is big news.

School admissions in Delhi are competitive, and securing a seat at one of the institutes is a matter of privilege. Here is a guide to admissions in Delhi for you.

Current Scenario for 2022-23

The admission process during the pandemic has changed. The process has the ‘new-normal’ trend as well. The applications have gone online. This is to bring about a sense of order and to avoid anxiety revolving around the future of education. Many parents are not accustomed to the new form of online admission; hence we have brought you a guide to school admissions in Delhi so you can understand it better.

School Admissions 2022-23 for Nursery, KG and Class 1

A well-planned admission procedure has been panned-out by the Directorate for 2022-23. Admissions to the entry-level classes(nursery, KG, etc) have been scheduled to start on 15th December 2021. This is for the open seats in the Private unaided recognized schools for the year 2022-23. Here are the important dates:

Number of Seats Open for Admission

Admissions in Delhi for more than 200,000 seats in classes Nursery, KG and Class 1 at over1,750 unaided private schools shall open on 15th December 2021.

Selection Criteria for Admission

While studying a guide to school admissions in Delhi, it is also important to understand the criteria for admission. Here is some information about this:

• The admission to the private unaided schools in Delhi under the General Category is done through the ‘ Point System ‘.
• The Points are assigned as per the ‘Selection Criteria adopted by each school’.
• The Maximum points are 100 .
• The candidate with the maximum points is selected as per the seats available in the school.
• In the case of ‘Same Scores’, a Lucky draw is used as the deciding factor.
• The final parameters of point allotment are executed by the school alone in case of admissions.
• The distribution of points is done as per the school’s choice alone .
• The points that have been abolished by the government cannot be included by any institute.

Some schools give priority to students on the basis of various factors. They include:

Neighbourhood: Most schools give preference to the students residing nearby. The school calculates distance using either ‘Radial Calculation’ or ‘Distance by Road’.

Alumni: There are schools in Delhi that give preference to the candidates if their parents are ‘Alumnus’ of the institute. This also varies from school to school. Some schools consider an alumni as a student who studied for 1 year while others require a minimum of 5 years of study.

The Girl Child: Some institutes reserve seats for girls during admissions.

Staff Ward: Certain institutes offer seats to the children and also grandchildren of the Staff at school. Eg Bal Vikas Public School.

Only Child: There are a few institutes that offer preference to the only child.

Delhi Police Personnel: Some schools have criteria for the children of the Delhi School Personnel.

Single Parent: Some institutes offer seats to the children of single parents as well .

Transferred From Other Schools: Certain schools also allot points to the students that have been transferred from other schools. This includes interstate, city, or international transfer.

Regional Minority: Some schools allot points to the regional minority students as well. Eg Montfort School, Jaspal Kaur Public School.

Adopted Child: There are cases where points are allotted for adopted children.

Documents Required for School Admissions in Delhi

• The latest photograph of the child, father, mother, and family photo.
• Aadhar cards of the: child, father mother
• A temporary Enrollment Slip can also be produced at the time of the admissions.
• Details and Spellings should be the same in all documents.
• Correct and authorized Birth Certificate of the child should be in place.
• At least 20 self-attested photocopies of the documents should be ready.
• Residential proof: Ration card, Smart Card bearing the name of the parents.
• Domicile Certificate : Child or parents.
• Voter ID card of any parent.
• Electricity bill/ MTNL telephone bill/Water bill/Passport in the name of any of the parents or child.
• Medical/ immunization certificate issued by a registered Medical practitioner.
• Affidavit for Distance from school.
• Letter by the Priest: for Catholic students
• Baptism Certificate: for Catholic students
• Religion minority certificate.
• Affidavit: Single parent
• Death/Divorced certificate in case of Single parent.
• Affidavit of Single Child
• Affidavit of Twin Children
• Transfer Certificate in case of transfer.
• Staff ID in case of staff children
• National Certificate of parents that are national awardees.
• Affidavit for Inter-community marriage.

Seat Break-up For Private Unaided Institutes

• 25%- EWS, DG
• 5% – Staff Quota
• 20%- Management Quota
• 50%- General Category.
• Nursery/ Preschool: 3 Years- 4 years (for those born between 1st April 2017 to 31st March 2018) including the upper and lower dates.
• KG/Pre-Primary: 4 years- 5 years (for those born between 1st April 2016 to 31st March 2017) including the upper and lower dates.
• Class 1: 5 years- 6 years (1st April 2015- 31st March 2016)

Admission Process 2022-2 3

With the ongoing pandemic, the application process and registrations have become a challenge. As it is not possible to travel, various new options are available. There are various resourceful and reliable ‘Third-party platforms’ that offer a guide to admissions in Delhi. These registered and reliable sources offer swift and smooth admissions to parents. The best part is that now you can easily apply to several institutes at the same time. With the hi-tech application processes, uploading and scanning of documents and submissions through the online channels are the new-norm.

This new method of online applications has been explored due to the current situation. The results have been encouraging and quite positive. Various schools have opted for online platforms and have also recognized various ‘education platforms’ that are exclusive for the process of admissions.

It is however the responsibility of the parents to investigate the authenticity of these platforms thoroughly to be able to rely on them for admissions.

Details that you need to apply to over 350 schools across Delhi and fill the common application form are mentioned below.

Step 1: Go to https://unf.app/dna21bbtn to start the process of filling the common application form and sign up using your Gmail account or by filling the signup form.

Step 2: After Signing up, select the area in which you are looking for schools to apply for admission.

Step 3: Once you have selected the area, click on apply on any school that you are seeking admission for your child in.

Step 4: After you have selected a school, select the class for which your child is eligible.

Step 5: Enter your child’s name, date of birth, and gender . This will create a profile for your child. You can make multiple profiles if you are seeking admission for more than one child.

Step 6: After filling the details, click on the ‘fill application form’ button to go to the common admission form.

Step 7: Carefully fill the common application form for admission.

Step 8: Upload the required documents .

Step 9: Verify all the details that you have filled and then proceed to payment by clicking the ‘Pay’ button.

Step 10: Add more schools that you want to apply for admission at by clicking the ‘ add more schools’ button or proceed to payment portal directly after checking the payment details .

Step 11: Enter the phone number and email address on which you to receive the invoice .

Step 12: Complete the payment using your preferred payment method.

Admission Grievance Cell

• The DOE has set up a District Admission Monitoring Committee (DAMC) at each district in Delhi.
• The Director and Directorate of Education is the chairperson of the DAMC.
• Help Desks at District Offices will assist the parents on topics concerning the admission process.
• This Help Desk will be functional until the end of admissions.
• As per the High Court order, no school can collect capitation fee/ donation from the parents at the time of admissions.
• Registration fee
• One month tuition fee
• Any other charges can be refunded within 15 days by displaying the right receipts.
• Schools must collect fees only monthly from the parents.

Presentation Convent Hr. Sec. School, Srinagar has a history of 84 glorious years in the field of education. We look back with a sense of gratitude and satisfaction at the enormous contribution this institution has made in the lives of all those who have passed through the portals of their Alma Mater. We now invite you to take a journey down the memory lane as we retrace our steps, to the journey which began in Ireland.

Presentation Convent Higher Secondary School is a selective K-12 independent day school for girls in Rajbagh, on the banks of Jhelum River, Srinagar. It was started in 1936 and run by the Presentation Sisters.

On 15 June 1939 the school building was officially inaugurated at Rajbagh.

The school was devastated by a fire on 12 January 1965 that completely destroyed the school building and part of the sisters’ residence. The clock tower survived. The school was rebuilt.

In its initial days the school was boarding and had a separate building for a boys' school. The school was co-educational until 1977.

The Nagle Block was inaugurated in 2009 and was put open for classes 11th & 12th in 2010.

Jubilee Block was started in 2011 to commemorate the Platinum Jubilee of the school.

Dear aspiring students,

I take this opportunity of welcoming you all to the University of Delhi, a premier Institute for higher education in India.

It gives me immense pride and pleasure to share with you that our university, established and incorporated in 1922 through an Act of the then Central Legislative Assembly, will complete its hundred glorious years on 1st May 2022. The University, which comprised three Colleges with 750 students in 1922, has expanded to 90 Colleges, 16 Faculties, and 86 Academic Departments spread over 407 acres across Delhi with a student strength of more than 7 lakhs, reflecting a microcosm of the diversity in India.

The University is a premier university in the country as per the national and international rankings. The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) for the year 2021, places the University at 12th rank among universities. As per the Centre for World University Rankings (CWUR), the National Rank of the University of Delhi is 6th for 2021-22. The Times Higher Education Asia University Ranking of the University is 201-250 (released in June 2021). QS World University Ranking of the University is 501-510 (2022), QS India Ranking (2021) of the University is 6th among Indian educational institutions and universities, and the QS Asia University Ranking (2022) is 77.

The University has always been a pioneer in laying milestones in academics for others to follow. It is actively engaged in the process of bringing a paradigm shift in higher education by orienting curriculum frameworks and structure of the programs with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The NEP 2020 is aimed at transforming the education system in the country and the University is leaving no stone unturned in order to implement the policy in its true spirit.

It is a pleasure to share with you that the University has decided to implement NEP 2020 from the academic year 2022-23. Implementation of NEP in the University, where more than 500 courses are run for about seven lakh students a mammoth task. However, the University has taken the bold step of implementing a new Undergraduate Curriculum Framework 2022 (UGCF), which will require overhauling the existing system to make the curriculum in line with the philosophy of NEP. The UGCF 2022 is formulated with a student-centric approach and provides flexibility in terms of choice of disciplines of study, developing academic pathways having creative combinations of disciplines for study with Multiple-Entry and Exit points, determining semester-wise academic load and the ease to learn at his / her pace, to the extent possible.

Our students come from as many as 75 world nations, with numbers increasing year after year. The UGCF 2022 shall promote internationalization as the undergradute curriculum aligns with the international standards and shall promote students' mobility.

Lakhs of students all over India dream to be part of this University after completing their schooling. Enabling equal access for enrolment on a level playing field is the first step toward making education accessible and inclusive. A significant step towards this is the adoption of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) as the mode for admission of students in various undergraduate programs of the University from the academic year 2022-23.

The University is expanding its academic horizon and adequate infrastructure development is planned accordingly. After demerger of Delhi College of Engineering and Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology from the University, the vacuum so created is now going to be filled by the introduction of three Bachelor of Technology Programs, namely B. Tech in Computer science and Engineering, B. Tech. in Electrical Engineering and B. Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering under the Faculty of Technology. Accordingly, a new building for the Faculty of Technology is planned to be set upright in the heart of North Campus. Infrastructural expansions including two blocks for Office and Laboratory in Maurice Nagar and two new hostels in Dhakka Complex are underway. For the convenience of students residing in various parts of Delhi, Facilitation Centres are being set up in Najafgarh (West Delhi), Bhawana (North-west Delhi), Surajmal Vihar (East Delhi), and Fatehpur Beri (South Delhi) to deal with various administrative matters.

During the recent pandemic, the University remained functional, without compromising  the health of its students and employees. The admissions, teaching, and learning well as Examination continued in online mode. While the situation is returning to normalcy, the University plans to roll out its year-long Centenary celebrations with which it intends to leave an indelible mark not only on the academia but on the larger community as well.

I urge everyone who will be joining the University of Delhi family to come forward and play an active role in the Centenary Celebrations as well as in taking forward the rich legacy handed down to us through the hard work and sweat of our predecessors. It is indeed our collective responsibility to give our best in all spheres of our engagement, without compromising with mediocracy, so that we continue to excel not just today but for times to come.

Different types of Government Schools in Delhi?

There are 4 categories of government-run schools:

• Rajkiya Vidyalaya : Government-run school affiliated to the Delhi Board of School Education (DBSE) for Class 1 to 12.
• Sarvodaya Vidyalaya : have all classes starting from the nursery.
• Pratibha Vikas Vidyalaya : Pratibha Vikas Vidyalaya (popularly known as RPVV or Pratibha) is a school system run by the Directorate of Education, Government of Delhi. Admission of students is in 6th and 11th standards. Admission in the 6th standard is based on an entrance test while Class 11th admissions are held on the merit base of CBSE results of class 10th.
• Schools of Excellence : Schools of Specialized Excellence are choice-based schools affiliated with the Delhi Board of School Education (DBSE) for Class 9 to 12.

Students who want to enroll themselves in Delhi Government Schools, have to satisfy the age and educational qualifications eligibility criteria decided by the department whose details are provided in the table below.

How to Fill the Delhi Govt School Admission Form?

Filling out the admission form is the initial and most important step of the admission process. To fill out the admission form there is no need for you to go to different schools and apply for admission. Now, you can easily fill out the form online. All you need to do is follow the steps mentioned below:

• Open the official portal of the Delhi Education Department at www.edudel.nic.in
• On the Home page, tap on Govt School Admissions .
• The Government School Admission for the Session 2023-2024 will open up.
• Check the section for Admissions in Classes VI to IX .
• Click on the link Online Registration Form
• The Application Form will open up.
• Enter the aforementioned details in the registration form and tap on Next.
• Fill out the online form completely.
• Click on Submit and print the form.
• You can also reprint the form or delete it by selecting the applicable option in the admission section.

Details to be Filled in Delhi Govt School Admission Form

It is very important to fill in each and every detail properly in the form to avoid any kind of problem and confusion in further proceedings. You need to mention the following details while filling out the admission form:

• Personal Details of the Students such as Name of the Student, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Name of the Guardian, Age, Gender, Address, and much more.
• Date of Birth of the Student.
• If available, the Unique Identification Document or Aadhar Card of the Student.
• The Bank Account Details of the Child including the IFSC Code and Branch Name are also desired by the authorities.
• Mobile number of the Parent or Guardian of the Student.

SoSE stands for School of Specialized Excellence and is chosen based school for the students of classes IX to XII. They fall under The Government of NCT of Delhi and allow students to specialize in their chosen field of study. Through master lectures, expert dialogues, and field trips, SoSEs expand exposure to numerous career pathways and have partnerships with top universities and local and international specialists in specific fields. Through projects, field trips, internships, and other opportunities in their area of interest, students will have the chance to engage in experiential learning. Schools of Specialized Excellence have been established in 5 domains: Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), Humanities, High-End 21st Century Skills, Performing and Visual Arts, and Armed Forces Preparatory School.

Getting admission to these schools is competitive as students need to appear for an exam and get good marks in order to confirm their admission. By following the steps mentioned below you can fill out the form of admission:

• Visit the official portal of SOSE Admission i.e., www.edudel.nic.in/sose
• Then you need to visit the admission section
• There you can register for admission and find the dates for exams and results.

Non-Plan Admission Scheme in Delhi Govt Schools

Non-plan admissions are for those students who have been out of school, dropped out for any reason, students whose parents have been transferred from different states to Delhi, and a student who comes from unrecognized school. This scheme is like a sub-part of the overall admission process to Delhi Govt Schools. The main motive of this scheme is to help students continue with their education and prevent a gap year.

Delhi Government has started the admission procedure for Class 9 in Delhi Model Virtual School (DMVS) for the academic year 2022-23. Aspiring candidates can register online from the official website -- dmvs.ac.in. The last date to apply for DMVS Class 9 admission is September 4, 2022. Students who have passed Class 8 from any recognised schools of India are eligible to apply for the admission process.

The DMVS will provide high-quality education in an online setup. The school will offer admission to students in Class 9 for the year 2022-23. To apply for DMVS Class 9 admissions, candidates have to register and fill out the admission form online. Delhi School of Excellence 2023 takes into account the admission for the classes from I-XII . Directorate of Education Schools of Excellence Branch, Govt. of NCT Delhi has opened the registration for admission in Classes VI to IX and Classes X and XII in Govt. Schools under non-plan admission. The admission process is taking place for Class IX & XII for School of Excellence Khichripur, Rohini Sector 23 & Sector 17, Dwarka, Kalkaji & Madanpur Khadar. Delhi School of Excellence 2023 Important Dates

The process of the 2023 session has been started, the candidates must be aware of all the important updates regarding the dates. 

Classes X and XII Delhi School of Excellence Schedule

For class Nursery to Class 3

An online computerized draw of lots is conducted at HQ level by a Committee under the Chairmanship of Director Education. The result of the Online Draw Of Lots for different categories comes in the form of the selected and waitlisted candidates. Result is basically generated at Headquarters (DoE). One can view the result at the official site or on the school notice board. 

For class IX

The entrance Test takes place for the class IX students.  On the basis of the performance of the candidates,  the merit is prepared. Only 40 students are enrolled in one section of a Class.

For Class XI

Candidates have to meet the minimum eligibility criteria set by the Directorate of education, New Delhi and the merit obtained in the entrance exam. The candidates may have to face an interview if required.

Delhi School of Excellence Admission 2023 Application Form 

Before applying the applicants are advised to ensure the eligibility criteria. Check the vital details for the same below in the given points:

• Applicants must apply online on the official website of the exam.
• Any incomplete details in the form will lead to the cancellation of the candidature.
• Without the fee payment, no form will be accepted.

• Further, the application form will appear on the screen

Step 3: Upload The Scanned Documents

• Upload the required documents such as mark sheet, photograph, signature in a prescribed format and size.  

Step 4:  Payment Of The Application Fee

• The candidates who are applying for the Delhi School of Excellence have not to pay any kind of application fee. There is not so much information regarding the fee. 

Delhi School of Excellence Admission 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria differ as per the classes. Candidates applying for the Delhi School of Excellence must check the eligibility requirement before applying for it. This is because if someone fails to fulfil the eligibility criteria then the application will be rejected. Thus to confirm the seat as per the class preference in Delhi School of Excellence, one must meet the eligibility required.  

Academic Criteria for Non-Plan Admissions Classes X & XII

• For Class IX: Residing in Delhi and have passed class VIII from any Govt. /Govt Aided/Recognised Unaided Schools.
• For Class XI: Students residing in Delhi and have passed Class- X in Academic Session 2020-21, as well as Class IX in the Academic Session 2019-20 from
• Government/Government Aided/Unaided recognized Schools of Directorate of Education/NDMC/Delhi Cantonment Board Schools of Delhi.

NOTE: For class XI there will be a common Entrance/Screening Test for admission to the School of Excellence. However, a separate merit list will be there  for each of the School of Excellence

Age Criteria

Delhi school of excellence admission 2023 exam pattern .

The entrance exam is held only for class 9.  On the basis of the merit in the Entrance Test of respective School of Excellence selection of the registered applicant is done. 

The students who have applied for the Delhi School of Excellence test must appear in the exam. They must check the Delhi School of Excellence Exam Pattern for Class 9.

• The Entrance Test will consist of Objective type questions 
• The questions will be asked from numerical & mental ability, General Knowledge, and Language comprehension and Descriptive type in English and Hindi.
• Exam duration is 2 hr 20 min
• There is no negative marking.

The candidates who are going to appear for the entrance exam must hold certain tips in order to get selected for the class or course.

Documents Need to Submit at Time Of Admission 2023

Candidates who get selected for the different classes must be aware that they need to submit certain documents in order to confirm the seats. If somebody fails to provide the documents within the limited time frame, then their admission will be cancelled. SO be aware that all the documents are ready before applying for the exam. 

The parents/ students must submit the following documents to the Head of the allotted school. 

• Passport size photograph of the child.
• For class VI to VIII: 
• School leaving certificate of a recognized school OR Original Date of Birth Certificate issued by MCD or any other Local Body.
• For class IX: School leaving certificate of a recognized school.
• Mark sheet of previous class passed (if applicable). 
•  Any of the following documents as residence proof:-
• BPL Card/Ration Card with parents and child name. 
• Domicile certificate of the parents or child. 
• Voter id card for the praent. 
• Electric bill
• Passbook that contains the name of the child. 
• Parent’s driving license
• Caste certificate (if any)

INTRODUCTION

Joint Admission Committee (JAC) for counselling and admission to Undergraduate Programmes in premier Delhi Government funded universities, offering Engineering, Architecture and Management programmes started in the year 2014, as an initiative of the Govt. of NCT of Delhi, to avoid multiple admission counselings and save the candidates and their guardian from the resulting inconvenience because of shifting of students from one institution to the other during the admission process. This year, Delhi Technological University (DTU), Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW), Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi (IIITD), Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT) and Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University(DSEU) are participating in JAC which is being conducted online with the support of the National Informatics Centre (NIC).
