Microsoft PowerPoint Designer & Slide Layout Issues

Previously, I used Designer in PowerPoint to create professional looking full-page graphics/images for my reports. I was able to drop an image of any size (small/big) onto a blank slide (no background, no theme) and Designer used to provide suggestions with the image resized to fit the entire slide (usually without loss in image resolution) - along with overlay of honeycomb patterns, other backgrounds and patterns automatically. Most importantly, the design ideas did NOT leave a placeholder for slide title or section title. In the past few days, when I do the exact the same thing, designer ideas only fit my image into a text place holder on a certain slide layout leaving another placeholder for me to insert slide title - therefore, the only design ideas shown to me are those that correspond to the slide layouts present in the slide master (6 or 7 or 8) and those ideas are not any more different than if I were to select a certain layout, insert my image in one text placeholder. How do I reset designer to go back to the way it used to work before? Please help!

Update: I just discovered that Designer works as it used to, when I leave my slide orientation as landscape - only when I change it to portrait, do I see the above issue occurring.

Thanks for your updated sharing back with us. It seems like the key is set the slide orientation as landscape but not portrait, then the Designer will work as you need.
