In general, you’ll want a few fields that will help describe your assigned tasks and some markers for better organization. Here are some essential components to look for:

  • Assignment description: An efficient assignment tracking template will have space so you can jot down assignment notes. This avoids confusion and lets you anticipate the difficulty of your to-dos.
  • Dates:  Having dedicated fields for your due dates lets you plan your schedule better. This way, you know how much time you have to complete a task. Additionally, when paired with your assignment notes, you can sort them according to priority levels.
  • Completion status: Keeping track of task statuses lets you know which tasks have started, are in progress, are accomplished, or need revision. Moreover, it’s also a great way to remember which tasks you need to return to.
  • Subject and type:  You also want to categorize your assignments into their respective subjects. Another way to group them is by assignment type, including papers, lab reports, collaborative work, and similar tasks.

Basic Assignment Tracking Template

With all the considerations laid out above, we created a simple but effective assignment tracking template you can use for free. While it may only feature a single functional tab, it has nine named columns you can organize according to your tasks.

Column A—Days Remaining

This is self-explanatory, but you can refer to this column to see the number of days you have left to do or submit your assignment. Depending on the days remaining, you can also decide which tasks to prioritize according to their deadlines.

The cells under this column are automatically updated using our pre-loaded formulas , so avoid modifying them. Instead, you can change the values under the last two columns of this template.

Columns B to D—Tags for Status, Subject, and Task Type

Under these columns, you can set the categories of your assignments either by their completion status, class, or assignment type. You can select the values from the drop-down lists that come with the template based on the American curriculum.

Additionally, these statuses are associated with specific colors, making them more visual so that you can view and handle multiple ongoing tasks more efficiently. If the subjects listed differ from what you’re currently taking, you can modify the options.

To modify the subject options, follow the steps below:

  • First, click on a cell’s drop-down list and locate the pen icon at the bottom.

  • Click the pen icon to open the drop-down settings on the left-hand side of your screen.
  • Change the values listed on the options, such as editing Math  to Physics.
  • Once you’ve set your preferred selection, click the “ Done” button.

  • Upon clicking, a pop-out might appear on your screen asking whether to apply the changes to a wider cell range.
  • Simply click “Apply   to all”  to replicate the changes to the other cells.

Another handy feature is the filter option in the “Status”  column. You can use this to view your tasks based on their completion level. For example, you can choose to see only the in-progress tasks. Here’s how you do it.

  • To get started, click on the filter icon next to the “Status”  label.

  • You should see a list of values with checkmarks on their left side once you scroll down.
  • To deselect all of them, click on “ Clear.”

  • Next, begin selecting the tasks you want to see per status, such as To start  and In-progress.
  • Finally, click “OK.”

  • To revert the view, simply follow steps one to five, ensuring to select all the categories again.

Columns E to I—Assignment Details

You can start entering the information you know about the tasks at hand. The columns E to G are divided into three categories: Assignment Title, Description, and Files/Links. If your assignment has attachments and URLs, such as resources, you can keep them in the last column mentioned.

Meanwhile, columns H to I serve as fields where you can input the dates when your task is given and when you need to submit it. Take note that these are installed with data validation rules—you can’t enter values that aren’t valid dates. These values are also used to calculate the Days Remaining column.

Semester Assignment Spreadsheet

If you are looking to plan your entire semester ahead of time with your potential tasks, this is a helpful assignment tracking template. It’s much simpler than the previous spreadsheet discussed and gives you a semester-wide overview of your assignments.

This assignment tracking template has only three fields that you can update. The first field is the (1) Date , which is located under the seven days of the week (with a total of fifteen weeks in the spreadsheet as per the American semester.)

The second is the (2) Tags  field, which allows you to categorize your tasks according to the subject. As with the other template, these tags are color-coded for an easier view. Lastly, you can also populate the (3) Assignment Details , the blank spaces beside the tags.

Assignment Tracker Template For Students (Google Sheets)

If you’re a student searching for a way to keep your assignments organized, congratulate yourself for taking the time to set yourself up for success. Tracking your assignments is one of the most important steps you can take to help you stay on top of your schoolwork .

In this Writing Tips blog post, we’ll discuss why keeping an inventory of your assignments is important, go over a few popular ways to do so, and introduce you to our student assignment tracker, which is free for you to use.

Why Tracking Is Important

Keeping your assignments organized is essential for many reasons. First off, tracking your assignments enables you to keep abreast of deadlines. In addition to risking late submission penalties that may result in low grades, meeting deadlines can help develop your work ethic and increase productivity. Staying ahead of your deadlines also helps lower stress levels and promote a healthy study-life balance.

Second, keeping track of your assignments assists with time management by helping prioritize the order you complete your projects.

Third, keeping a list of your completed projects can help you stay motivated by recording your progress and seeing how far you’ve come.

Different Ways to Organize Your Assignments

There are many ways to organize your assignment, each with its pros and cons. Here are a few tried and true methods:

  • Sticky notes

Whether they are online or in real life , sticky notes are one of the most popular ways to bring attention to an important reminder. Sticky notes are a quick, easy, and effective tool to highlight time-sensitive reminders. However, they work best when used temporarily and sparingly and, therefore, are likely better used for the occasional can’t-miss deadline rather than for comprehensive assignment organization.

  • Phone calendar reminders  

The use of cell phone calendar reminders is also a useful approach to alert you to an upcoming deadline. An advantage to this method is that reminders on your mobile device have a good chance of grabbing your attention no matter what activity you’re involved with.

On the downside, depending on how many assignments you’re juggling, too many notifications might be overwhelming and there won’t be as much space to log the details of the assignment (e.g., related textbook pages, length requirements) as you would have in a dedicated assignment tracking system.

  • Planners/apps

There are a multitude of physical planners and organization apps for students to help manage assignments and deadlines. Although some vow that physical planners reign superior and even increase focus and concentration , there is almost always a financial cost involved and the added necessity to carry around a sometimes weighty object (as well as remembering to bring it along with you).

Mobile organization apps come with a variety of features, including notifications sent to your phone, but may also require a financial investment (at least for the premium features) and generally will not provide substantial space to add details about your assignments.

  • Spreadsheets

With spreadsheets, what you lose in bells and whistles, you gain in straightforwardness and customizability – and they’re often free! Spreadsheets are easy to access from your laptop or phone and can provide you with enough space to include whatever information you need to complete your assignments.

There are templates available online for several different spreadsheet programs, or you can use our student assignment tracker for Google Sheets . We’ll show you how to use it in the next section.

  • Click on this link to the student assignment tracker . After the prompt “Would you like to make a copy of Assignment Tracker Template ?”, click Make a copy .

2. The first tab in the spreadsheet will display several premade assignment trackers for individual subjects with the name of the subject in the header (e.g., Subject 1, Subject 2). In each header, fill in the title of the subjects you would like to track assignments for. Copy and paste additional assignment tracker boxes for any other subjects you’d like to track, and color code the labels.

3. Under each subject header, there are columns labeled for each assignment (e.g., Assignment A, Assignment B). Fill in the title of each of your assignments in one of these columns, and add additional columns if need be. Directly under the assignment title is a cell for you to fill in the due date for the assignment. Below the due date, fill in each task that needs to be accomplished to complete the assignment. In the final row of the tracker, you should select whether the status of your assignment is Not Started , In Progress , or Complete . Please see the example of a template that has been filled in (which is also available for viewing in the Example tab of the spreadsheet):

4. Finally, for an overview of all the assignments you have for each subject throughout the semester, fill out the assignment tracker in the Study Schedule tab. In this tracker, list the title of the assignment for each subject under the Assignment column, and then color code the weeks you plan to be working on each one. Add any additional columns or rows that you need. This overview is particularly helpful for time management throughout the semester.

To help you take full advantage of this student assignment tracker let’s recap the steps:

1. Make a copy of the student assignment tracker .

2. Fill in the title of the subjects you would like to track assignments for in each header row in the Assignments tab.

3. Fill in the title of each of your assignments and all the required tasks underneath each assignment. 

4. List the title of the assignment for each subject and color code the week that the assignment is due in the Study Schedule .

Student Data Trackers in Google Sheets

Tracking Student Data in Google Sheeets: Video Tutorials & Student Data Tracker Templates

It can be difficult, at times, to keep track of all of your instructional data, especially with so many subjects during our day. Especially if your school district, or school, doesn’t have a data system. Google Sheets is a great tool to keep track of student data for ongoing formative assessments, as well as diagnostic assessments. Having your assessment data accessible also makes it easy to use data to drive classroom instruction, or intervention. Once you have your data spreadsheet set up, it’s easy to adjust for different needs. And, you can reuse the same set up year after year. There are so many ways to customize your student data tracker spreadsheets to fit your needs, and make it work for you! I talk about a few different set ups I’ve used, and/or continue to use, throughout this post. Here’s a look at some easy ways you can track student data with Google Sheets.

Why track student data in Google Sheets?

Tracking student data in Google Sheets has many practical benefits!

  • Accessibility- Since it’s cloud based, you can access it anywhere! I hate lugging my school computer home, so I rarely do. But, if I’m grading at home, I can still access my student data spreadsheets from home!
  • Collaboration- Since more than one person can access Google Sheets at once, it’s the perfect program for managing student data for more than one classroom. Tracking RtI or intervention data or grade level performance on a school or district assessment are both done easily within Google Sheets. Or, it just makes it possible for you to share your data with your administration team, principal, or instructional coach.
  • Autocalculations- My favorite reason for using Google Sheets or Excel for my data is the built in formulas! I use it to figure out student percentages from raw scores, I use it to generate a list of students based on proficiency, and I use it to color code based on student proficiency. I always build in averages into the spreadsheet so that I can monitor my overall student performance.
  • Visualization- If you are a visual learner, it’s super fast and quick to add graphs and charts to reflect your data. While that’s not frequently how I like to view it, it’s super simple to add in.
  • Versatile- From just checklists for attendance, weekly assessments, formative assessments, and more, you can use Google Sheets (or Excel!) to manage virtually anything you want to track in the classroom!

I used to use Excel to track my data, back in the olden days. Over the years, I’ve shifted to Sheets. I don’t think there’s a single feature I miss in my switch, especially since I don’t utilize the full functions of Sheets or spreadsheets in general.

How do I create student data trackers in Google Sheets?

The first iterations of my data tracking were literally just places to store scores. Over the years, as I’ve learned more about options available in Excel and now Google Sheets, I’ve been better able to customize them to meet my needs. Whether you’re looking to create one spreadsheet you can use to track data in a subject area, or a powerhouse of sheets to hold everything you need, you can build the spreadsheet that meets your needs.

I could list a series of steps to follow to build your student data tracker. But, chances are, if seeing the steps was enough for you, you would have already made your own! So, I think videos are the most helpful. Many people have anxiety around spreadsheet software but I love using them! I’ve spent significant amounts of time learning new things when I want the spreadsheet to do something I don’t yet know how to do! I’m not a pro by any means but I’ve learned a few tricks or two along the years.

This video walks through setting up a pretty basic, academic, standards-based student data tracker. I teach you how to build in formulas to copy information from other cells (so you don’t need to duplicate names), auto-calculating percentages, how to set up conditional formatting to color code based on student mastery, identifying the number of proficient students, and how to build in averages.

More In-Depth Student Data Tracking

In this Part 2 video, I take that same student data tracker and build individual student reporting pages. These allow you to see how each individual student is performing, standard-by-standard or skill by skill. It’s all set up with formulas so once it’s set up for one student, it’s pretty quick and simple to create it for the rest of the students in your class!  In this video, I talk through formulas for copying cells over to be displayed, adding graps, and conditional formatting.

Student Math Data Tracking Sheets

I think it’s very important to track student data standard by standard in math. It allows you to see who is in need of reteaching or extra support. So many skills build off of a previously learned skill in math. It makes it easy to spiral standards, but also means it’s critical students master them so they’re ready for the next layer. I have standards based math data tracking sheets prepped and ready for you. They’re currently available for grades 1-4. They are prebuilt with the Common Core Math Standards, but are editable so you can change them to match the standards for your state. Or, add in additional skills you’d like to track.

My favorite part of these math data trackers are the student information sheets. These student data pages are auto-generated! They’re literally  no extra work for you! They prepopulate based on the assessment scores you enter into the data spreadsheet. They display the student scores by standard, organized by domain. This makes them perfect reporting pages for parents, or to take with you to a data meeting like RtI, MTSS, or IEP case conferences.

Each is tailored to your specific grade level and includes a video tutorial that walks you through how to use them. Phonics Tracking Sheets

Another pre-made student data tracker template I have available is my phonics tracking spreadsheets. This spreadsheet is built using the Quick Phonics Screener but is entirely editable to match whatever assessment you use. Tracking phonics data skill by skill is a great way to ensure students are making progress with their foundational reading skills. Heggerty Phonemic Awareness Assessments Data Tracking

Do you give the Heggerty Phonemic Awareness Assessments? If so, this data tracker is for you! Designed for the Kindergarten and Primary Phonemic Awareness Assessments, this data tracker also creates individual student reporting pages. You can add more tabs by just duplicating them. However, they will not show up on the student pages without extensive work.

Do you have a data tracker for UFLI?

I don’t. I believe they recommend the QPS or Core Phonics Survey as the diagnostic assessment. If you were wanting it to track your students’ progress each week, this is set up for diagnostic and progress monitoring assessments and not weekly. With that said, if the format fits your needs, you are able to edit the skill titles and raw scores to match any assessment’s sequence.

Hi, my email service shows you opened the email and clicked the link, though it’s possible that’s just the filtering. Since the email came through, it seems, I’m not sure me sending it would go through any differently. It shows it sent on 7/15 and was opened. Can you confirm if you did or did not receive it? Otherwise, you may need to have it sent to a personal account because your district filter may be blocking it.

Free Assignment Checklists for Google Classroom

Keeping your students’ assignments organized each week can be easier said than done. Using these FREE assignment checklists for Google Classroom (with spots for reminders and messages) will hopefully make your life (and your students’ and parents’ lives) a little easier while teaching in a digital classroom.

Help keep students (and parents) organized with Google Classroom using these FREE digital assignment checklists! There are digital assignment checklists for daily assignments, weekly assignments, and subject-specific assignments!

Using Assignment Checklists in Google Classroom™

Google Classroom™ is not super intuitive as a learning platform. When posting multiple assignments a day/week, it can be tricky for 8-10 year olds to stay organized and find what they need.

One solution that many teachers use is to have an assignment checklist slide to help students find the assignments and keep track of which tasks have been completed.

To help you implement this with your digital learning, I have some FREE assignment checklists for you (available for download in the section titled Download the FREE Assignment Checklists for Google Classroom™ Here).

There are several versions of the digital weekly assignments for you to choose from. Variations are included for different amounts of assignments, different subject areas, and even different color schemes. I recommend saving a master copy of all of the slides and then making copies of the ones you want to use.

  • Daily Assignment Checklists (with Today and with Days of the Week)
  • Subject-Specific Assignment Checklists (Math, ELA, Reading, Writing, Science, Social Studies)

Each slide comes with editable spaces to list assignments and link to them right in your Google Drive or Classroom page. There are also sticky notes to add reminders, inspirational messages to your students, or additional links. This would be a great spot to post a fun challenge, extension, or early finisher activity.

To keep your students even more organized, there are moveable checkmarks to keep track of which assignments they have completed as they make their way through the week.

Linking Classroom Assignments to Digital Assignment Checklists

After you have uploaded any necessary files to your Drive and posted all of your assignments and materials to your Classroom, you’re ready to link everything to the checklist slide!

Choose the assignment you want to link to. Click on the three dots and select “Copy link” from the dropdown menu options.

Select the text you want to link the assignment to. You can change the name of the assignment and then click “Insert link.” A window will pop up. Paste the link into the space provided.

Assigning Weekly Checklists in Google Classroom™

When your Weekly Checklist is complete with assignments, links, and notes, you are ready to share it with your students in Classroom!

Step 1: Create a new assignment.

Step 2: Title it something like “Assignment Checklist for Week of April 27th” and add instructions as needed. (That way, you can create a new one each week and stay organized.)

Step 3: Add the file from Google Drive and choose “Make a copy for each student” (since they will be editing it by dragging checkmarks over to completed assignments).

Step 4: Add a due date. (I recommend the end of the week/day that the checklist is for.)

Step 5: Click “Assign” and you’re all set!

Quick Checklist for Posting to Google Classroom™

  • Upload any files needed for the week’s assignments to Drive
  • Post assignments for the week to Google Classroom
  • Link to each assignment on the assignment checklist
  • Link to other important sites or pages from the sticky notes on the page
  • Upload the linked assignment checklist to your Google Classroom as an assignment (and make sure you make a copy for each student!) and set due date as the end of the week

Is there a way to use this agenda so that when I child clicks on a link to the assignment it will take them directly to “their copy” of the assignment. If I made an assignment in which each student will have their own copy when opened, will this agenda work?

What is a Notion template?

A Notion template is any publicly shared page in Notion that can be duplicated. They allow you to share your favorite workflows with the community, or duplicate other workflows that you want to use.

How do I use a template?

Once you identify the template(s) you’d like to use, click the Start with this template or Get Template button. If you’re already signed into Notion, the template will automatically be added to your workspace in the Private section of your sidebar. If you’re logged out or don’t have a Notion account, you’ll be prompted to sign in or create an account first.

How do I make a Notion template?

You can make any Notion page a template by clicking Share in the top right, select the Publish tab, and click the Publish to web button. Make sure the Allow duplicate as template is toggled on. To share, use the public-facing URL or click the Copy web link button in the Publish tab.

How do I submit my template to the Notion Template Gallery?

To submit a template to the gallery, go to notion.so/templates and click the Submit a template button in the upper right corner or visit notion.so/submit-a-template . Fill out the form (including your public template link, template name, template descriptions, and template category) to share your template with the Notion community!

How can I customize the template?

Once you’ve added a template into your workspace, you have endless options for what you can change, edit, or update to fit your needs. Templates are just a starting point to help you create your ideal workspace.

Here are a few common updates and changes that you can make once duplicating a template:

Pages — Update the page cover photo, add/change an icon, and change the page title.

Text — Add formatting, like bold, italics, text color, and background color. Change heading levels, add bullet or numbered lists, and move sections around.

Blocks — Add blocks like callouts, toggle lists, or tables. Remove blocks that you don’t need to reduce clutter or make space for extra blocks.

Databases — Change property names, types, and icons, or add/remove properties that don’t fit your needs. Add new database views, like boards, lists, calendars, timelines, or galleries.

Having once been students ourselves, we know that all students start off the school year with good intentions of keeping track of assignments and due dates and generally staying ahead of all that is required of them. Inevitably, the workload starts to pile up and there are many small assignments in addition to the bigger tests and projects, and it can be quite difficult to keep tabs on everything .

With quite a few assignments up in the air at any given time multiplied by several subjects, we wanted to create something to help every student keep track of it all. The 12 Free Printable Assignment Trackers you’ll see below are intended to accomplish just that!

In these assignment trackers, you’ll find spaces to write in your specific assignment, the due date, and a space to indicate if it was completed or submitted, amongst other details.

Tracking points in the classroom: How to get started in 10min

Integrating points (sometimes call experience or XP points) into your classroom routine can significantly impact students by promoting positive behavior and increasing engagement. Points provide immediate recognition and establish a more constructive learning environment. They give quick feedback to both students (and teachers!) and make things more fun.

A classroom engaged in a competition

A simple leaderboard serves as a good way to track and display these points, giving a visualization of students' progress and achievements. In this post we'll look at how you can quickly set up a classroom leaderboard yourself.

Considerations

To get started you should consider the following points:

  • define clear and inclusive criteria for awarding points,
  • maintain the leaderboard regularly, and
  • acknowledge the diverse capabilities and achievements of all students. fostering an inclusive and supportive environment is vital, where every student feels valued and recognized for their efforts, regardless of their standing on the leaderboard.
  • It is essential to secure student data and to consider the implications of publicly displaying points.

Next, what are some activities you can give points for?

Ideas for classroom points

Here's some ideas to get you started:

Class Participation: Points can be given for taking part in class discussions, asking questions, and adding to the learning environment.

Homework Completion: Points can be given for turning in completed homework on time, showing responsibility.

Quiz and Test Performance: Points can be given for doing well on quizzes and tests to reward understanding of the material.

Group Collaboration: Points can be given for working well and contributing in group projects or activities, promoting teamwork.

Positive Behavior: Points can be given for showing good behavior like helping others and being respectful in class.

Start small and improve

Starting new things, like a points system, can seem daunting. But, it's okay to start small and learn as you go. It doesn’t have to be perfect at first. Maybe start with a tiny test — pick one or two things to give points for. This way, it’s easier for you and the students to get used to it. You can see what works and what doesn’t and make changes as needed.

As you and the students get more used to it, you can try more things. The main thing is to keep trying and keep improving!

Just proceed as follows (it will take you 3 minutes):

  • First, you need to go to this page and click START HERE. You can do this without registering or providing an email address.
  • You must then enter all participants. Further participants can be added later.
  • Click on CREATE LEADERBOARD.
  • Your leaderboard has now been created ✨.
  • Click the "PUBLISH" button at the top of your board. Choose how you want to publish or share your leaderboard. You have the option of sharing a read only link with your pupils (and parents too).

Assignment trackers are a must-have addition to any student’s toolkit.

An assignment tracker is a tool that helps learners break down difficult assignments into more manageable chunks. For example, if an assignment asks a student to pick a topic and then write an essay plus make a presentation to the class, the tracker might cover the following tasks:

  • Pick a topic
  • Research the topic
  • Plan/outline the presentation and essay
  • Draft the essay (with a rough number of paragraphs)
  • Draft the presentation (with a rough number of slides)
  • Compile the bibliography

How much time the student would dedicate to each part of that work would depend on the number of credits the module is worth and how much the assignment itself is worth as a percentage of the learner’s grade.

Compared to those in high school, college students have a lot more freedom in terms of their ability to manage their own schedules. A typical high school student will spend around 30 hours in the classroom each week, while college students spend half that time in face-to-face lectures or classroom environments. However, the actual workload in college is higher, with most courses requiring 2-3 hours of self-directed study per hour of contact.

Track student progress and receive student work

The teacher dashboard allows teachers to view class rosters and track student progress while also allowing students to move at their own pace. Students produce at least one project in each lesson. Students can share their projects with teachers for comments, feedback, assessment, and more.

  • Checkmarks indicate completed lessons.
  • A paperclip indicates work the student has shared work with the teacher.

Each middle and high school lesson also comes with a lesson plan and rubric to help guide the lesson and measure progress.

Lessons do not need to be completed in order; you can choose which lessons to share with students and use them in any order. You’ll still be able to track student progress on the dashboard.

Track student progress

Log in to your teacher dashboard and click on Current classes .

Click on the class name. A new page will open and you can view the overall progress for each lesson in that class. 

The Progress summary section shows how many students have started working on the lesson and the percent of the lesson that has been completed.

Click Videos watched  to view the student roster, the percentage each student has completed of the selected lesson, and how many steps each student has completed.

The chart icon indicates that a student has completed the lesson reflection.

The numbers indicate how many steps have been completed. Example: 6/7 means the student has completed 6 out of 7 required steps.

A paperclip indicates that a student has shared work with the teacher.  

Click on the Steps completed cell to view a breakdown of a student's progress. A side panel will open and you can check:

Projects . Click Submitted Work to open the direct file link that the student has shared with you.

Videos that the student has watched will have a check mark next to them (click on the title to view the video).

Reflection answers. Shaded answers indicate the option the student selected. 

If you click on one of the answer options, it will appear as though you have changed the student’s answer. This change only appears while you are currently viewing and does not actually change the student’s answers. This is a known issue that we are working on fixing

Receive student work

When a student is signed up for a teacher's class with the class code, that student has two options for sharing work with the teacher (details below). For either option, the student should make sure to be signed in using their Applied Digital Skills account.

In most lessons, when a student begins a project, they will see a Shared Work pod on the right hand side of the screen. The Shared Work pod only appears on the right hand side of the page when a video instructs students to share work. It contains a field for students to paste the URL (file link) of their project.

If a video instructs students to share their work, they will see Shared Work and a paperclip icon on the right side of the screen. It contains a field for students to paste the URL (file link) of their project.

Instruct students to do the following:

  • Copy the shareable link or URL
  • Paste it in the Shared Work section
  • Click Share your work.

To access the shared work:

  • Go to your teacher dashboard.
  • Click on the class name.
  • Click View progress details for the lesson you want to view.
  • Click the paperclip icon to open the side panel.
  • Click Submitted work to view the shared project.

Whether or not a video instructs students to share work, you may want your students to share their work with them to monitor or grade their progress.

  • Open the project.
  • Click Share (upper right corner of the page).
  • A pop up will appear. Instruct students to type in your email where it says Add people and groups.
  • Confirm what kind of access you want: Viewer , Editor , or Commenter. ( Learn more about how others view, comment or edit files here .)
  • Keep the Notify option checked.
  • Students have the option to include a message.
  • When ready, click Send.

Once the file is shared, you will receive an email message that a file has been shared with you. To access the shared work, open the email and open the file link.

You can also access shared work by opening your Google Drive and clicking Shared with me in the left side menu.

If the Share Work prompt appears during a video and a student shares work this way instead of through the prompt, you will still have access to the work, but their progress will not be accurately reflected in the teacher or student dashboard.

Export Student Quiz Submissions to CSV File

Teachers have the ability to view quiz submissions in the Applied Digital Skills dashboard. Students must be registered with a class in the dashboard and logged in to submit a quiz. Follow these steps to export student quiz submissions to a CSV file. 

  • Sign in to the Applied Digital Skills dashboard
  • Select a class
  • Select Quiz Results. 
  • In the top right hand corner on this page, a button will appear to Export Results .
  • Once clicked, you will see your students’ quiz submissions in CSV format

Please note that teachers need to export from the dashboard again if additional quiz results are submitted.

Delete Student Quiz Submissions

In the Applied Digital Skills dashboard, teachers have the option to delete student quiz submissions individually or for the entire class.  Follow these steps to delete student quiz submissions.

  • Sign in to the Applied Digital Skills dashboard 
  • Navigate to the Quiz Results section of the class. 
  • Select the entire class or an individual student. 
  • A button will appear to Delete Responses .
  • When the button is selected a pop up window will appear confirming to delete an individual student or class quiz submissions.

Track student progress with Google Classroom

Applied Digital Skills lessons can be shared to Google Classroom. However, student progress on Applied Digital Skills lessons must be tracked using your Applied Digital Skills account. 

To track student progress on Applied Digital Skills lessons that are shared to Google Classroom, you must also  add each lesson to your Applied Digital Skills class. 

  • From Applied Digital Skills, select the lesson you want to share.
  • Click the Add to class icon and select one of your Applied Digital Skills classes.
  • Next, share the lesson to your Google Classroom.
  • From the pop up window, click View lessons .
  • Find the lesson, then click Add to Google Classroom .
