This Master of Business Administration (MBA) (top-up) programme is for people who already hold the OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership (120 credits) qualification. This MBA (top-up) course allows you to achieve an MBA qualification in up to six months, so it’s a fast track to new opportunities and enhanced career prospects. To join the course, you should already hold the OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership (120 credits) qualification, and you should have suitable managerial experience.

Entry Requirements

To apply for this course, you need to possess the OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership (120 credits) qualification, and you must also have a minimum of 2 years of work experience in either a managerial or professional capacity which may include voluntary work, placements, internships, project management etc.

The course content of the SLIIT MBA programme has been carefully designed to meet current industry needs in consultation with industry experts and academia from locally and globally renowned institutions and approved by the Ministry of Higher Education. The SLIIT – MBA would stand out as a unique programme among MBAs offered in Sri Lanka due to its’ novel attributes

Another unique feature is the availability of renowned professors from high ranking overseas and Sri Lankan universities and professional organizations, who will deliver regular and guest lecturers. The entire panel of lecturers will possess Ph.D. or higher educational qualifications with hands-on business experience. Others are the full-time staff of SLIIT with Ph.D. qualifications and industry experience. Interaction sessions with high caliber business personalities (local and foreign). The course content is carefully designed to cater to the current industry needs with inputs from industry experts and academia (approved by the Ministry of Higher Education).

Eligibility Requirements

The applicants with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related area from a recognized university are eligible to apply for the course. Those with a Bachelor’s Degree in other subject areas need to have one year’s post qualifying experience. Applicants with professional qualifications and two year’s post-qualifying experience approved by SLIIT are also eligible to apply.

Course overview, aim of the course.

Whether you have worked in business for a number of years, or are a specialist and wish to progress into a more senior management position, this course will provide you with an opportunity to work at a more fundamental level on the issues that matter in business.

Alternatively, you may be a recent graduate keen to enhance your employment prospects. Whatever your level of experience, the MBA (Master’s Stage Award) offers a flexible study route and will allow you to refresh and enhance your management skills and knowledge.

You will investigate changing areas of strategy, leadership and management theory and practice, and will be able to confidently apply this knowledge to practical organisational situations.

The MBA (Master’s Stage Award) course allows you to top up your existing postgraduate qualification, typically through six months of full-time study.

You will be supported by your adviser in person or on-line via distance learning after the initial research methods training.
