best education topics for youtube channel

If you’re like a lot of people, you probably use YouTube for listening to music, watching videos of cute animals, or just for procrastinating on homework.

While it is a platform for all of those things, there’s a whole other side to YouTube you may have never considered. YouTube has hundreds of channels that can teach you any subject you could ever think of (as well as dozens you didn’t even know existed).

With hundreds of hours of video uploaded every minute, however, it can be difficult to sort out the helpful, quality channels from the useless ones.

That’s why we’ve created this guide, which covers the 100+ best educational YouTube channels currently in existence. You’ll find videos on everything from music theory to weird geography facts to how to succeed in business (the hard, effective way).

To be quite honest, the right mix of these YouTube channels might be able to teach you more than you could ever learn in college. At the least, many of these channels can serve as useful supplements to the classes you are taking. If you’re not a student, you can still get a lot of value out of watching these, as they can help you to never stop learning .

Studying and Learning

This is a college blog, after all, so it makes sense to start with some channels that will help you improve your study skills. Some of these channels focus on specific study techniques, while others will guide you through specific subjects.

If you’re looking for advice on school supplies, organization, or just what the academic side of college is like, then check out this channel from current college student Sareena.

Easy Languages

Most language courses are boring, formulaic, and unrealistic. Easy Languages is the opposite — each video teaches you vocabulary, grammar, or concepts in a language using real conversations with people on the streets.

They have videos for just about every language you can think of, and they add new content regularly. If you’re trying to learn a language , this is an essential resource.

Thomas Frank

Thomas Frank makes videos that help you be more productive – whether you’re in high school, college, university, or the real world.

This includes study tips to help you learn faster and ace your exams, advice on destroying procrastination, reading and note-taking strategies, and more.

Philosophy Tube

Want to get a philosophy degree for free? Then watch Philosophy Tube, which shows you how to use philosophy to make sense of current events and life’s big questions.

Ali Abadaal is a junior doctor in the UK’s National Health Service (NHS). He vlogs about life as a doctor, as well as about how to study more effectively.

Study with Jess

Jess graduated top of her class with a psychology degree, and now she’s created this channel to help you get motivated and stay organized. While there are lots of videos for college students, there’s also plenty aimed at high school students or even people who are out of college.

Mariana’s Study Corner

Mariana is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in International Law, and in her spare time, she works on this channel, which focuses helping you stay organized and study smarter (while also giving some sweet writing material recommendations).

Med School Insiders

Ever wonder what life in med school is like? Are you a pre-med or current medical student looking for advice on how to set yourself up for success? This is the channel that will answer all questions you have about how to pursue a career in medicine .

Crash Course

Struggling with a particular academic subject? Want to learn a new subject on your own? Crash Course can help. They have courses on physics, philosophy, games, economics, U.S. government and politics, astronomy, anatomy & physiology, world history, biology, sociology, computer science, film history, mythology, literature, ecology, chemistry, psychology, and U.S. history.

You’ll never have an excuse to say “I’m bored” again.

The Coding Train

In the future, being able to code will be as crucial as knowing how to read. Okay, so that’s probably an exaggeration, but if you’ve been wanting to learn how to code, The Coding Train is a great place to start.

The videos are detailed, easy to understand, and even funny. Whether you want to learn the very basics or are exploring a more advanced topic such as machine learning, The Coding Train has a video series for you.

Each week, Mike Boyd takes a new skill and tries to learn it as quickly as possible. Whether it’s knife throwing, making a fire, or picking locks, you’ll be amazed how quickly you can learn when you focus and apply the right techniques.

Toby, a physics Ph.D. student living in Australia, makes videos about physics, math, astronomy, and beauty in the world around us.

Music, Movies, and Arts

You can use YouTube to (sometimes illegally) watch movies or listen to music. But you can also learn a lot about the techniques that artists use to create them, which is what each of the channels below looks at in one way or another.

Wisecrack produces a variety of shows that explore big ideas in unusual (and hopefully super entertaining) ways. They use movies, TV shows, video games, and books to explore concepts in philosophy and critical thinking.

Patrick (H) Willems

Patrick Willems is a filmmaker who produces short films, critiques popular films, and explores the techniques behind the movies you love (or love to hate).

Do you love indie and alternative music? Then you’ll love this channel, which explores the best of these genres that’s currently out there.

Lessons from the Screenplay

This channel analyzes screenplays to help you understand what it takes to tell a great story (and how you can do the same).

Lindsay Ellis

Lindsay’s video essays explore media through a critical eye, focusing especially on high-profile superhero and action movies.

Imaginary Ambition

This channel presents unconventional explorations of what defines different musical genres, styles, and artists.

Each video from Polyphonic is a video essay about music and other aspects of pop culture. The videos about classic rock are especially interesting if (like me and most people reading this blog) you’re too young to remember when the music came out.

Now You See It

Now You See It takes a look at the themes and tropes in film. As the channel descriptions puts it, “It’s like a college film analysis class minus the lecture halls, essay assignments, and student loan debts.”

Alt Shift X

Do you love to nerd out about  Game of Thrones  and  Westworld ? Then this is the channel for you, where you’ll find explanations and detailed analyses of these shows.

Terrible Writing Advice

You can often learn just as much from studying bad work as you can from great work. This channel teaches you to be a better writer by (very sarcastically) telling you how  not  to write.

Volksgeist makes videos “examining important works of music.” The channel primarily focuses on hip hop artists and albums, though there are also videos about rock and even other music YouTubers.

Misteramazing

This channel is hard to explain (and frankly a bit over my head), but it generally uses music and media to explore post-irony .

A channel that examines movies, literature, and writing to answer the question, “How does someone become a great artist?”

Captain Midnight

These videos take a critical look at superhero movies and other pop culture, with lots of speculation and commentary about what these movies do right (and how they could improve).

LowSpecGamer

For the serious video game nerds only, LowSpecGamer shows how to run modern games on low-end computers…by doing whatever it takes.

Music Education

Thomas, Martin, and I all play music and are interested in learning more about it. These are some of our favorite channels for learning about everything from music theory to the reason pop songs are so catchy.

Paul Davids

If you’re learning guitar, then Paul Davids’ channel is a must-watch. He teaches everything from basic scales to advanced chord progressions and riffs. He also has a variety of videos that will help you shop for guitars and gear.

Adam Neely is a bassist and composer who makes videos about music theory and “new horizons in music.” It’s definitely more of an advanced channel, but any music nerds reading will love it.

Music theory might seem like an obscure, boring topic that only music majors or composers need to care about. If you watch this channel, however, you’ll learn that that couldn’t be further from the truth. In fact, music theory can help you appreciate the music you love at an even deeper level.

Andrew Huang

Andrew Huang is a producer, composer, and all-around creator of unusual, inventive music. His channel explores weird instruments, how he makes songs, and his travels around the world. Whether you’re looking for some Ableton Live tips or just want some inspiration, this channel will provide.

Rob Scallon is a guitarist and all-around multi-instrumentalist. His videos explore how he makes music, including song challenges and genre-bending compositions.

He also does interviews with people who play interesting instruments, such as the organist at Wrigley Field and the professional carillon player at the University of Chicago.

Science, Engineering, and Technology

Have a science question? Struggling in your physics class or wondering how engineering shapes the world around us? You can find the answers in the channels below, which show just how mind-blowing science and tech can be.

Simon Clark

Simon Clark makes videos about climate physics and the crazy world of online video.

Practical Engineering

Unless you’re an engineer, you probably think of engineering as a boring, complex topic that only the gifted few can understand. Practical Engineering, however, will show you just how interesting and important engineering is.

And unlike lots of channels that just show video footage or animations to explain a topic, Practical Engineering uses real scale models and at-home examples to demonstrate engineering concepts. At the very least, this channel will give you a deeper appreciation for all the thought that goes into engineering everyday things.

Draw Curiosity

Ph.D. student Inés Dawson makes videos about interesting science and language facts, all with the aim of stimulating your curiosity about the world around you.

TierZoo uses gaming to explain zoology, showing some of the bizarre things that have resulted from evolution.

Every Think

Every Think explores science and, more generally, “everything interesting that is.” Whether you’re curious how atomic clocks work or what happens when you get struck by lightning, Every Think has the answer.

Minute Earth

The animated videos on this channel explore the science of the world, with a special focus on animals and food science.

Whether you’re curious which form of transportation is the greenest or which type of non-dairy milk has the lowest environmental impact, Our Changing Climate will help you out.

Cool Worlds

Cool Worlds is the project of David Kipping, a professor in the Department of Astronomy at Columbia University. The videos explore astronomy, exoplanets, astroengineering, the search for extraterrestrial life & intelligence, futurism, and interstellar travel. It may sound like science fiction, but it’s all based in very real science.

There are lots of YouTube channels that make animated science videos, but Kurzgesagt creates some of the most beautiful ones out there. We really can’t express how gorgeous these animations are. You have to see it for yourself.

Deep Look explores science topics by “going very, very small.” Each video uses macro photography and microscopy to take a very close look at the natural world. Each video will teach you something new…and possibly creep you out a bit.

Isaac Arthur

Interested in futurism and space exploration? This channel uses science fiction as a way to examine what could be possible as technology continues to advance and we reach further towards the stars.

Medlife Crisis

Medlife Crisis aims to give you accurate, research-backed information about science and medicine. The host is cardiologist, internal medicine doctor, and university researcher, so you can bet the information will be high-quality.

But even more than giving you accurate information, Medlife Crisis does so with humor and hilariously bad jokes, making even the most obscure topics interesting.

Science with Katie

Katie is a biochemist who makes videos about the basics of chemistry, biology, and the science of health.

Minute Physics

A channel that explains complicated physics concepts in short, simple videos (with lots of fun whiteboard drawings).

SciShow discusses strange and fascinating science topics, with regular episodes based on questions from viewers.

SciShow Psych

Using the same style as SciShow, this channel focuses on the wonders of the human brain and how humans interact with the world.

SciShow Space

From the beginning of time itself to the current groundbreaking research and space exploration, you’ll find it on SciShow Space.

Plus, the narrator has a soothing British accent that makes the channel great for relaxing after a day of work or studying.

Host Rene Ritchie is obsessed with technology, and he shares his obsession on this YouTube channel, where he discusses trends in personal technology and apps.

Simone Giertz

Everybody’s talking about the “maker movement,” but few channels on the topic are as exciting and funny as Simone Giertz. Whether it’s turning a Tesla into a pickup truck or building a robot that gives (somewhat questionable) manicures, this channel will both educate and entertain you.

Animal Wonders

Ever wonder what it’s like to care for over 80 exotic animals? This is what Animal Wonders explores, as well as fascinating facts about animals you didn’t even know existed.

Ms Beautyphile

The beauty products we use every day have a fascinating science behind them, and this channel will teach you all about it.

Real Engineering

Engineering is a fascinating subject that manifests itself in almost every aspect of our daily lives. Real Engineering explains the math and physics behind how all of this works, along with a good bit of interesting history in the process.

These videos tell stories of unusual (and at times disturbing) medical cases that the channel’s creator has witnessed or heard about from colleagues.

3Blue1Brown

Amazingly well-explained videos about complex math concepts.

TechAltar creates videos about the past, present, and future of consumer technology.

The founder of City Beautiful is a city planner, and he creates videos to educate people about topics such as transportation, land use planning, and urban design.

Second Thought

Second Thought explores questions worth thinking about using stick figures and poorly drawn animals.

It’s difficult to categorize Tom Scott’s channel, and that’s precisely what makes it so interesting to watch. In his “Things You Might Not Know” series, he explores unusual topics in science, geography, and pretty much anything else that interest him.

Meanwhile, his “Amazing Places” series will take you across the world to some of the most fascinating and bizarre spots on Earth. Expect to leave each video informed and awed.

Let’s take a look at some of the best educational YouTube channels out there that can help you to improve your knowledge and make learning fun.

Why Educational YouTube Channels are a Good Idea

Firstly, it is important to remember that you can only concentrate for a limited time.

In fact, one popular study technique is known as the 50/10 study sessions. This means you study for 50 minutes and then take a 10-minute break.

What’s great about many YouTube accounts is that they ensure that each lesson is short and sweet. This makes it easier to stay focused and concentrated without getting distracted or fatigued.

Another great thing about YouTube videos is that they are engaging, but not distracting like study groups might be. While it may be fun to study with friends, it can be easy to drift off in conversation and talk about things that have nothing to do with studying.

Most YouTube channels also have organized playlists. This means that each lesson is given in the correct order of how you should learn the subject.

Finally, some learners simply find it easier to study using visual or audio methods. YouTube videos provide both visual and audio assistance, which makes them easier and more fun to learn from than textbooks.

So without further ado, let’s take a look at some of the best YouTube learning channels out there!

10 of the Most Popular Science and Education YouTube Channels

These genius YouTubers teach you stuff worth knowing

best education topics for youtube channel

  • University of Ontario
  • George Brown College
  • Online Dating

The science and education shows on YouTube explore and present information in fun and creative ways. Adding special effects, filming real experiments, and pumping personality into their lessons allow YouTubers to create videos that are more exciting and interesting to watch than a similar lesson from a college or university course.

The incredible people who run these channels know how to make learning fun. Take a look at the following list of top science and education channels that make you want to learn as much as possible while keeping you entertained.

Thought-provoking content.

Not traditionally academic.

Breaks down complex topics.

Might not help with school.

Might be too technical.

Vsauce is a channel that never disappoints. Host Michael Stevens explains some of life's most interesting questions like Did the past really happen?  or Why don't we all have cancer?

His videos can be enjoyed by just about everyone and never lack in thought-provoking details. Michael knows how to break down the most complex topics and ideas in an intriguing way so everyone can understand.

VlogBrothers

Super long-running channel.

Entertaining and informative.

Takes questions from viewers.

Not their main focus anymore.

Might not be all that academic.

John and Hank Green of the VlogBrothers are two of the most accomplished and recognized YouTubers of all time. On their main channel, they take turns vlogging back and forth about various topics, often taking questions from their viewers—also known as nerd fighters.

Together, they've launched several successful projects, including the annual VidCon YouTube conference and the DFTBA Records distribution network.

MinutePhysics

Short, quick videos.

Direct approach.

Can definitely help with school questions.

Somewhat narrow focus.

Still might be too technical for some.

MinutePhysics puts a cool spin on learning with bite-sized videos that explain science and physics topics in hand-drawn doodles that are sped up to the speed of the narration, so you get the clearest visual representation of what's being explained.

If you're short on time and attention span, MinutePhysics's two to three-minute videos offer the perfect mini-lessons for straight-to-the-point learning.

SmarterEveryDay

Tries to make topics accessible.

More casual style.

More entertaining than academic.

The SmarterEveryDay YouTube show features a mashup of everything from general vlogging about interesting science topics and telling stories through short animations to filming real experiments. Host Destin Sandlin is always mixing it up to keep it exciting.

Unlike other YouTube channels, SmarterEveryDay follows a casual vlogging style and doesn't use a ton of fancy editing tricks and effects to be interesting to watch.

PBS Idea Channel

From a trusted source.

Regular content.

Diverse topics.

Discusses more than it explains.

Probably not the best for school.

Want a break from all that science stuff but still want to learn something new and awesome? The PBS Idea Channel and host Mike Rugnetta explore fascinating connections in pop culture, technology, and art.

Many of the channels on this list focus on presenting real facts and scientific explanations. This one focuses more on ideas, trends, and opinions to back up interesting arguments.

The channel is officially part of PBS.org. It releases a new video every Wednesday.

Numberphile

Math for people who don't like math.

Tries to make numbers more interesting.

Not really structured lessons.

Dislike math? You may want to reconsider after watching a video or two from Numberphile. This YouTube channel shows that it's all about number exploration. You'll be surprised to learn how many everyday things in life can be explained in a numerical sense.

From figuring out how to win at a game of Dots to understanding what infinity means, Numberphile can probably turn any bad math student into someone who wants to learn more about the wonderful world of numbers.

Variety of topics.

Real-time demos and experiments.

Diverse topics make it less predictable.

If you're looking for an all-around cool science show with great variety, maybe similar to the stuff you see on the Discovery channel, then Veritasium is a YouTube channel you need to subscribe to.

The show focuses on delivering "the element of truth" in all sorts of science and engineering topics, featuring everything from amazing demos and mind-blowing experiments to interviews with experts and interesting discussions with all sorts of people.

AsapScience

Uses pictures to make topics accessible.

Tackles interesting questions.

Great for people without a science background.

Doesn't necessarily explain how things work.

Similar to MinutePhysics, AsapScience uses fun and colorful doodles to dig deep into some of life's most fascinating questions, using science. The show answers questions like, What if humans disappeared? and Should we all be eating insects?  It's hard not to be enticed by some of these titles.

Each video does such a great job at teaching that the youngest and least scientifically educated people should be able to understand it.

CrashCourse

Experienced and well-known YouTubers.

Free complete courses.

Courses aren't always updated regularly.

John and Hank Green from the Vlog Brothers also run the CrashCourse channel. This show offers free courses in anatomy, physiology, world history, psychology, literature, astronomy, and politics. John and Hank host the show along with three other prominent YouTube hosts.

With the help of these free online courses, both teachers and students can benefit from a learning style that's incredibly informative, fun, and rewarding.

Another channel from the Green Brothers.

Covers a variety of topics.

Answers interesting questions.

Not really academically focused.

SciShow is one of the many channels the Vlog Brothers have launched over the years. Primarily hosted by Hank Green, SciShow educates viewers about science, history, and other interesting concepts.

Of all the shows on this list, this one has some of the coolest editing effects. Colorful animations and text fly around the host as he speaks while tackling questions like Why are eggs egg-shaped? and How do oysters make pearls?

But maybe you just have to ask yourself if you’re an adult first?

This would’ve been a great channel to have in your back pocket during college because in roughly 15 minutes, Crash Course will, well, deliver a crash course in just about any topic you need. He isn’t going to come running into your kitchen with obscenities flying in every which direction, but if you want to learn “How to Properly Cook a Steak ,” the recipe for the perfect cereal french toast, or even “How to Properly Wash Your Hands in the Kitchen,” then Ramsay’s YouTube channel is a must. His temper flares easily, which always makes for good viewing, and with the occasional Hollywood friend stopping by, this channel is a nice dose of reality TV combined with kitchen education.

When you subscribe to Zach King, the world of magic and illusion will be at your fingertips. King shows the basics of shadow illusions and will often leave you scratching your head in outright confusion while hitting the rewind button over and over again. This channel is the one you stumble upon and the next thing you know, days have passed by and you still wondering how, why, or who.

The videos may be a little longer than the stated five minutes, but the true execution of the crafts and DIY projects takes no longer. 5-Minute Crafts delivers with “What to do on a Boring Day,” “20 Sure-Fire Pranks,” and “Cool Ways to Workout at Home.” The library almost seems endless and by the time you’ve scanned the entire offering, and you will have forgotten the initial video that caught your attention. 5-Minute Crafts has something for everyone and just when you think you’ve seen it all, a new video is uploaded.

Remember back in the day when sitting in English class, there was the cool kid that could spin a pen around his thumb without blinking an eye? Now you can be that guy if you tune into Stephen Robinson to Learn Cool Stuff. Videos with the details of “Balding Gracefully,” How to Rip a Phonebook in Half,” and “How to Ski for Free” are just a sampling of the videos offered by Robinson. The instruction is simple, straightforward and by the end of the video, you’ll be the king of the castle.

We all respond to stress differently. For some, it produces a panic of tail-chasing “what if” ideation or sets off a downward spiral of lethargic cynicism. For others, it leads to explosive overachievement, which doesn’t seem that bad until you run out of stuff to clean, cook, or organize. And for still others, stress is a trigger for serious disorders like anxiety, depression, addiction, and self-harm.

These are all side effects of the brain and body going into "emergency mode." When your brain senses danger, it signals the body to shut down anything unnecessary, while turning up the senses to maximize your perception of where and whom the danger is coming from.

For many parents, the proverbial plate has never been more full. A dramatic lifestyle shift has most of us cooped up at home, entertaining and educating our kids as best we can. It's a grind, especially if you're still working.

Sometimes, you need a little extra push. You can spend days — weeks, even — swimming through the seas of the internet in search of quality content suitable for your tikes. Fortunately, we've done a bit of that for you. Below are some great, mostly online and free-of-charge resources for parents of young children. They’re all interactive, educational, and vital right now as we try to assume the roles of nannies and teachers or try to juggle working and parenthood. Variety PBS Kids for Parents Thank the deities for public broadcasting. This invaluable site basically walks you through parenting, a healthy reminder given all that's happening right now. Learn about pie charts by way of pizza, make a snow globe from home, discover the power of your senses, and so much. more. Better still, it weaves in a lot of the great children's programming that PBS is known for, alongside activity guides according to age and weekly itinerary ideas. There's even very evolved and useful sections devoted to social skills and emotional self-awareness. It's equal parts activities for kids and guidance for parents. National Geographic Kids You and the kids may be stuck to your yards or the nearby park but you can still explore exotic locations via National Geographic. The iconic outlet’s kids zone is set up with info about the entire animal kingdom, with the fun facts, slideshows, maps, video footage, and absorbing info you’ve grown to expect from the publication. Even if you don’t have a subscription to the magazine (although you probably should), you can spend a lot of quality time in the kid section of Nat Geo. Things like quizzes and Beaver Badminton (a joy to play) are for slightly older kids, but there’s enough there to distract toddlers for a while too.

“I know this time of self-isolation is hard and scary for people, but however bad you are feeling, please, please don’t consider starting your own podcast,” Derry Girls actress Nicola Coughlan recently joked on Twitter. “Straight men under the age of 35 are particularly vulnerable to this and we all need to be vigilant of the dangers.” Some of the backlash to her tweet was swift and cruel, even though lots of people have made similar observations.

Top 11 Educational YouTube Channels for Kids

These expert- and parent-loved educational YouTube channels for kids in kindergarten, elementary, and middle school will educate and entertain for hours on end.

You're far from alone if your child is head over heels for streaming YouTube videos. According to 2020 data from the Pew Research Center, 80% of all parents with a child age 11 or younger said their child watches videos on YouTube, and 53% noted that their child does this daily. But given that there's so much questionable content, parents often try to steer their kids toward YouTube channels that are as educational as they are entertaining.

We chatted with experts and parents to round up the best educational YouTube channels for kids. Read on for 11 channels to feel good about queuing up for your kids.

1. StorylineOnline

StorylineOnline started as a children's literacy website created by the SAG-AFTRA Foundation. "Who wouldn't want Betty White to read the all-time favorite, Harry the Dirty Dog, with her signature 'Rose' voice?" says Titania Jordan, chief parenting officer of parental-control app Bark and co-author of Parenting in a Tech World . Kids will also gain comprehension and verbal and written skills, thanks to Storyline Online's curriculum guides that complement their educational titles.

2. Amy Poehler's Smart Girls

Amy Poehler's Smart Girls YouTube channel tops the list of best educational YouTube channels for middle school-aged kids. "By empowering girls through intelligence and imagination instead of fitting in, Amy Poehler's YouTube Channel gives girls the freedom to just be them," notes Jordan. 3. Khan Academy Kids

Khan Kids YouTube channel, a part of the online learning platform Khan Academy, was built to offer learning resources to parents and kids aged 2 to 8. The channel features a weekly "Circle Time" video encouraging children to learn, play, and read together.

Meredith Bodgas, a mom of two from Bellmore, New York, says her sons love Mr. DeMaio . "He's a real teacher whose YouTube channel teaches elementary-school-age kids about history, social studies, and science," says Bodgas.

"He's a millennial and knows that millennial parents are watching along with their kids , so he plants '90s references for us. His videos run 10-20 minutes, but my 6-year-old stays entranced throughout and actually retains the information." That makes this one of the best educational YouTube channels for kids and parents.

5. PBS Kids

Parents rave about the PBS Kids YouTube channel. "There is no comparison when it comes to getting ready for kindergarten ," notes Becky Bracken, a mom of one from Phoenix, Arizona. "And the emotional intelligence stuff in Daniel Tiger is second to none. And I still can't hear Elmo singing 'Bye Bye Binky' without openly weeping."

6. SciShow Kids

Ashley Austrew, a mom of two from Omaha, Nebraska, says her kids are big fans of SciShow Kids , a science-based channel that inspires kids of all ages to do experiments, research new questions, and talk with experts.

"They have helpful explainers on a wide range of science topics like 'what causes thunder and lightning,' 'why are there seasons,' etc.," she says. "My kids like that we can find videos to answer all the quirky questions they have, like why bread has holes in it, and they really enjoy the little cartoon elements and visuals that make complex topics accessible to them."

7. BrainPOP

BrainPOP's animated, curricular content is meant to engage kids on a slew of subjects, from engineering to Emily Dickinson, while supporting educators and boosting achievement. BrainPOP is geared toward kids in grades 4 and up, while BrainPOP Jr. serves kids in kindergarten to grade 3. There is also BrainPOP Espanol and BrainPOP Francais.

Lauren Sweeney, a mom from Evanston, Illinois, says her son loves the content. "They do a great job of breaking down really complex—and sometimes weighty, there's a GREAT one about BLM—stuff in a way that makes sense to kids," she notes.

8. Mike Likes Science

Jordan loves the science-inspired music videos on the Mike Likes Science YouTube channel for middle- and high-school-aged kids. "Mike's catchy hip-hop tunes and rap definitely make the memory part of science and math just a little easier to navigate," she says.

9. Art for Kids Hub

Rob, a dad of four, uploads new art lessons for elementary school-aged kids to the Art for Kids Hub YouTube channel every week. "This family-inspired art channel teaches kids how to draw just about anything with easy step-by-step instructions," notes Jordan.

10. Netflix Jr.

Mo Mulla, dad and founder of the blog Parental Questions , likes Netflix Jr. for its catchy animated tunes, which encourage toddlers and young elementary school-aged children to sing, play, and learn everything from their numbers, colors, animals, time, ABCs, and more.

For kids in grades K-12, Ted-Ed is an invaluable, engaging resource. "We love this channel because it infuses life lessons and social action into creative stories," explains Jordan.

"The collaboration between creative animators and educators teaches kids about the importance of getting involved in your community, knowing what's going on in the news, in science, in the arts. There's a reason this channel has over 19 million subscribers."

Starting an educational YouTube channel can be incredibly rewarding. By creating content related to the topics you’re passionate about, you’ll be able to help others learn and grow. You’ll also have the chance to become a leader in your field and build a loyal following.

Plus, creating videos for YouTube is an effective way to market yourself or your business. If you’re new to YouTube channel creation, check out our beginner’s guide to understanding YouTube channels .

Creating a successful educational YouTube channel is no easy task, but with some dedication and hard work, you can make your mark on the platform. Here are some steps you can take to get started. Once you’re ready to start, check out our step-by-step guide to easily create your YouTube channel .

Choose a topic

The first step in starting an educational YouTube channel is deciding on your content’s focus. What topics are you passionate about? Are there any areas of expertise that you can draw from? Choose one topic or several related ones and stick to them when creating your videos. This will help you build up a dedicated audience over time and make it easier for people to find your content.

For example, if you’re passionate about cooking and want to create educational videos, focus on creating content related to cooking rather than branching into other topics like gardening or interior design. If you love astrology, create videos related to astrology and not about tarot or numerology.

Create quality content

Now that you’ve chosen a focus, it’s time to start creating content. Quality is key here, so ensure the videos you create are informative, entertaining, and professional-looking. Investing in good audio and video equipment will pay off in the long run — after all, viewers won’t stick around for long if your videos are grainy or the audio isn’t clear.

Some tech accessories to think about investing in include professional lighting, a good microphone, and video editing software .

Incorporate SEO

You’ll need to incorporate Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to get the most out of your educational YouTube channel. This means optimizing your videos and descriptions with relevant keywords, so they show up in search results. Doing this will help you get more views and attract potential leads.

Once you’ve created your educational YouTube channel and have a few videos under your belt, you can start to implement some best practices. Here are a few tips to help you get the most out of your channel.

Keep lessons short and sweet

Most viewers are looking for quick and easy-to-digest content. Try to keep your videos under 5 minutes long, as this will help you maintain viewers’ attention and maximize the retention of information.

Be consistent

Consistency is key when it comes to YouTube channels. Posting regular content will help you build an audience and keep them engaged. Aim to post at least one video weekly, and consider setting up an editorial calendar to help you stay on track.

Add captions or subtitles

Captions and subtitles make your videos more accessible to people with hearing impairments or those who don’t understand the language. They can also help viewers find your videos, as search engines can index them.

Turn PowerPoint lessons into videos

If you’re delivering a lecture or presentation, don’t just post the slides on YouTube. Turn them into videos by recording your screen and adding narration to each slide. This will help make your content more engaging and easier to follow.

Use thumbnails

Use attractive, eye-catching thumbnails on all of your videos. This will help draw attention to your content and encourage viewers to click on it. Be sure our video has a text overlay as the cover photo, so it’s obvious to the reader as they scroll through.

Leverage playlists

Grouping related videos together in a playlist is a great way to keep viewers engaged and make it easier for them to find more of your content. Playlists can also help you build a following, as they show up in YouTube’s search engine.

Promote your videos everywhere

Don’t forget to promote your videos on social media and other platforms. This will help you reach a wider audience and get more views. You never know who is looking for help in your area of expertise, so make sure to share your videos as much as possible. You can even create a promo video for your online courses to make it easier for your audience to share.

Engage with your audience

Make sure to engage with your audience. Respond to comments and questions, create polls and surveys, and ask viewers for feedback on what kind of content they’d like to see in the future. This will help you build relationships with your viewers and keep them coming back for more.

Be a human being

Above all, make sure to show your personality in your videos. Viewers want to connect with real people, so don’t be afraid to be yourself and share stories or anecdotes that make you relatable.

Focus on the quality of your audience

You don’t need a lot of followers on YouTube to make money. What’s more important is having a loyal audience who engages with your content. So focus on creating quality content that educates, entertains, and inspires your viewers.

Creating an educational YouTube channel comes with a range of benefits. Not only can it help you reach more students and teach them valuable skills, but it also has the potential to generate income.

Monetize your videos

You can monetize your videos on YouTube and make money from advertisements. This is a great way to supplement your income or even create a full-time job. You’ll need to apply for the YouTube Partner Program and meet their eligibility requirements to get started.

Build an online presence

11 Best YouTube Channels for Students [Study Better in 2023]

11 Best YouTube Channels for Students [Study Better in 2023]

Table of contents

best education topics for youtube channel

Laura Jane Bradbury

The information you consume as a student will change your later success as a professional.

You don't want to consume "junk food" videos. But how can you find those too few channels that actually help students succeed?

As a business student, I didn't have a lot of time to spend watching YouTube.

Sometimes though, I needed that relief from schoolwork, and I found a few channels that quite surprisingly, helped me become a better student.

These are the channels you will see below.

The difference between "time wasters" and helpful YouTube videos

Research suggests it’s often easier to concentrate and learn from video content rather than reading a textbook. While this isn’t an excuse to give up on reading, it is worth browsing through the 114 million active YouTube channels available.

YouTube has greatly benefited me as a writer—and it can be similarly advantageous for you as a student. After all, we both must write, research, read, analyze, and motivate ourselves to complete assignments before a deadline.

If you’re someone who uses the platform to listen to music and watch funny cat videos, I recommend you take some time to check out some of the best YouTube channels for students I’ve found. From learning how to effectively manage my time to getting inspired by talks from successful writers on how to move past writer’s block, I’ve found these channels have a meaningful impact on my writing practice, and they could help you too.

Have you ever wondered if it’s ethical to get rid of mosquitoes? Or why the only solution to treating a common cold is rest and hydration?

The makers of TED Talks have created the channel TED-Ed as an educational initiative specifically for young people. The channel has a range of animated videos designed to feed your curiosity.

These fun, lighthearted videos don’t just cover random thoughts, however. There are plenty of practical, everyday answers, such as how to manage emotions or why your jeans wear out so quickly (definitely worth knowing!).

The videos are all under ten minutes long, making it easy to digest lots of bite-size pieces of knowledge.

2. Wordtune

AI (artificial intelligence) is transforming learning and writing. This article you are reading, for instance, was co-written with Wordtune. We wrote about our process of writing Youtube scripts , and that also features AI writing tips.

Wordtune’s AI technology corrects spelling and grammar in addition to offering wording suggestions to make your sentences more concise and compelling. Rather than replacing text with machine-generated content—which isn’t going to help you learn anything—our AI tools offer a range of options for you to choose from to enhance your writing.

The Wordtune Youtube channel includes easy-to-follow videos to search you how Wordtune can improve your writing. Discover, for example, how the Wordtune Editor’s Spices feature can make writing faster and easier.

We also publish helpful writing tips, such as easy exercises that can improve your writing and how to avoid plagiarism.

3. Crash Course

Education is highly valuable, but sometimes it misses out on key life knowledge. For instance, no one told me how to transition from being a student to having a full-time job.

Crash Course creates educational videos on different subjects such as literature, world history, biology, theater, and philosophy. As a student, there is plenty of life wisdom to absorb. Learn how to manage finances, for example, and balance a job while studying.

The channel has an excellent ten-week series on study skills which provides tips on note-taking and getting organized.

Launched in 2012 by brothers Hank and John Green (you might also recognize John as the author of The Fault in Our Stars ), Crash Course was one of the first 100 channels of YouTube’s $100-million-dollar original channel initiative. If you really find learning from Crash Course is up your alley, the channel has even partnered with Arizona State University to offer online courses for college credit.\

4. Ali Abdaal

Ali describes himself as a former doctor turned entrepreneur. After graduating, he worked as a doctor for two years before focusing solely on his YouTube channel, his podcast, and his company, 6med. Each year, 6med helps students apply to medical school and pass exams.

To further prove Ali’s credibility, his video, “How I ranked 1st at Cambridge University” has over a million views.

If you’re interested in study and productivity tips, join Ali’s 4 million subscribers. As well as documenting his financial success, Ali produces videos on how to stop overthinking. He also produces book recommendations and study tips that can help you succeed in your exams.

Videos are uploaded on a weekly basis, but there are already more than 600 videos to catch up on.

5. Self Publishing TV

It’s estimated that there is only a 1-2% chance of getting published with a traditional publisher. With such low statistics, Self Publishing TV offers a solution to publishing your work by yourself.

In each video, accomplished authors talk on topics related to producing and selling your own book. You can find advice on character development, sales and marketing, writing a screenplay, and how to write a first draft.

In 2022 the channel’s creator, Chandler Bolt, was listed on Forbes’ 30 Under 30, a yearly list of the most successful entrepreneurs and leaders in their fields under the age of 30. Chandler has helped thousands of authors write and publish their own books.

Even if you’re not interested in becoming an author, Self Publishing TV has lots of guidance for students. Learn, for instance, how to grow your social media to promote your work and build an email list.

6. Blogilates

Studies show that exercise boosts memory, concentration, and problem-solving. But with assignments to juggle, gym memberships that cost an arm and a leg, and potential neighbors downstairs, it can be a slog to work out as a student.

If you struggle to find ways to get moving, Blogilates has over a thousand exercises and healthy eating videos. The channel’s creator, Cassey Ho, is one of the most well-known fitness YouTubers with 8 million subscribers.

Cassey is a certified Pilates and fitness instructor who has the credentials to teach you how to correctly position yourself during different exercise moves. This will help avoid injuries that could result from following workouts designed by those who aren’t certified fitness experts.

As a bonus, most of Cassey’s workouts don’t require jumping or loud cardio moves, which makes them convenient for dorms. You can also find tips on budget-friendly healthy eating.

7. Dr Amina Yonis

Dr. Amina Yonis has taught and lectured hundreds of students. She is a cancer researcher and runs an academic proofreading company.

On her channel , Amina shares lots of advice that helped her to complete her studies at four top universities. The channel stands out for me because of its detailed, academic tips.

For instance, Amina shares a resourceful guide on the outline she used to get top marks in all of her university essays. She also uncovers all the steps required to conduct research, how to paraphrase without plagiarizing, and how to read a paper quickly and effectively.

In addition, the channel covers studying tips and shares advice on how to revise during Ramadan. Some popular videos include “Easy Harvard Referencing” and “How to Trick Your Brain to Learn.”

8. Motivation2Study

You have a deadline coming up, so you know you need to study. But you just can’t find the motivation to absorb more information or do more research. Sound familiar? This is one of those moments where the duties of a professional copywriter overlap with the duties of a student, so here’s a recc from my personal toolkit.

Motivation2Study posts inspirational videos to stop procrastination, worry and stress. The channel also focuses on mental health awareness for students.

Most of the videos are from keynote speakers who share critical lessons they’ve learned that have changed their lives. As I listen to inspiring advice and uplifting music from this channel, I’m reminded to relax and not panic. This is particularly helpful when I’m stressing over writer’s block.

My top recommendation from Motivation2Study is “Stop Wasting Time” by Ed Mylett, a global keynote speaker and one of the youngest CEO marketing directors to join World Financial Group.

The video offers practical advice on relatable issues. For instance, Ed describes how it’s human nature to avoid pain, which causes people to procrastinate and do their most difficult tasks last. He shares how we can extend our capacity and manage our work better by doing the toughest assignments first.

9. Talks at Google

Google’s YouTube channel is filled with inspiring and helpful content for students and writers.

If you struggle to focus in class, I recommend watching Dr. Gloria Mark’s talk on attention spam. Gloria is Chancellor Professor of Informatics at the University of California and is a visiting senior researcher at Microsoft Research.

If you want to brush up on your writing skills, lots of successful writers, including best-selling author Vanessa O'Loughlin (pen name “Sam Blake”), provide writing tips such as how to develop characters and a plot. You’ll also find a pep talk for when you’re struggling to find words from Grant Faulkner, the executive director of National Novel Writing Month.

Plus, Talks at Google has over 5,000 interviews on other useful topics for uni life such as cooking recipes. Although there is a lot of content to scroll through, Google has organized its channel videos into different playlists so you can quickly find what you’re after.

10. EnglishClass101

If you’re an international student, you might be considering ways to brush up on your English language skills. EnglishClass101.com will make learning English fast, easy, and fun. Whether you are a beginner or a longtime ESL speaker, you can find practical ways to improve your skills as you navigate uni life.

Look out for the free gifts available from the channel, including ebooks, courses, and printable worksheets.  New videos are posted weekly, so you have plenty of content to choose from.

For tips on improving your English writing, you can also check out our resourceful guide for non-native English speakers . Wordtune can be highly beneficial for you, as our AI technology suggests ways to improve your vocabulary.

11. Terrible Writing Advice

If you have a sarcastic sense of humor, you’re going to love this channel. Terrible Writing Advice creates funny animated videos on writing tips and ideas. Each video has a reminder and a nugget of wisdom to digest at the end.

For example, a video on writer’s block makes a lighthearted joke at the pressure we put on ourselves to always have something inspiring and interesting to write. The video overall reminds us that it’s normal to have moments of self-doubt and uncertainty.

The channel covers all sorts of writing issues, from trying to be original, knowing how to start and end a story, to how to handle criticism of your work.

The creator, J.P. Beaubien, is an author and a member of the Knoxville Writers Guild. He created the channel after becoming frustrated with the amount of inadequate and incorrect writing tips he came across online. Over 400,000 people are subscribed to the channel, which releases a new video each month.

Thanks to YouTube, we don’t need to go to the gym, join a language class, or pay to listen to an inspirational speaker. When you want to take a break from studying or gain some useful advice, head to one of these YouTube channels to enjoy high-quality content.

First, you need to hone in on your channel's niche. Your niche will be the topic or category your channel focuses on. Is your channel meant to support your existing business?

Or are you creating content around a passion, hobby, interest, or expertise?

Avoid having too broad a niche so your audience understands your channel‘s purpose and the kind of content they’ll see. A narrow niche also means less competition, which can grow your channel faster.

Marc Hans, senior professor at HubSpot Academy , suggests considering your end-user.

“Focus on your end-user as a role, an occupation, title, or industry,” he says. “And consider your value and expertise. For example, if you are creating a channel for aspiring marketers, what value can you share based on your experience?”

He also says to create value in your channel's title and imaging.

“For instance, 'Marc's Marketing Channel' is vague, but 'Tips for Aspiring Marketers from a World Class Marketer' is more compelling and direct,” Hans says.

You don't want your channel to be too narrow to the point where you cannot create much content within your niche over time. Your niche should be broad enough to encompass different subtopics.

Subtopics are important because, according to Hans, every content you post may not appeal to every person within your audience — and that's okay!

“If you have a YouTube channel about marketing, your audience may consist of CMOs, aspiring marketers, digital marketers, social media managers, etc.,” he says. “You should strive to give each persona something at least once every three posts.”

For instance, Frugal Aesthetic is a channel focusing on fashion. The channel covers fashion history, recommendations, reviews, commentary, and style tips.

The topic is broad enough to create different kinds of videos under the same umbrella. Still, the niche channel is unique thanks to the host's memes, dry humor, and off-the-cuff dialogue to execute his videos.

How to Start a YouTube Channel

Once you‘ve chosen your niche, it’s time to research competitors, which would be the channels creating similar content. For example, let's say your YouTube channel focuses on reviewing and analyzing comics.

To find other channels with the same topic, go to the YouTube search bar, type “comic book reviews,” and see what channels pop up.

Westminster Dog Show 2024: Sage the Miniature Poodle wins Best in Show

There's a new top dog in New York.

"Sage," the Miniature Poodle, won the Best in Show honor at the 148th annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show on Tuesday, beating over 2,500 dogs of more than 200 different breeds for the ultimate prize. Sage, a three-year-old from Houston, Texas, was handled by Kaz Hosaka in the last show of his career.

Sage is the first poodle to win Best in Show since 2020. The winner was selected by Best in Show judge Rosalind Kramer, out of High Point, North Carolina.

"Mercedes," the German Shepherd, a 4-year-old from Bethesda, Maryland, was named the Reserve Best in Show, the runner up of the greatest dog in America.

Group winners from Westminster Dog Show 2024

  • Herding Group : Mercedes (German Shepherd)
  • Hound Group : Louis (Afghan Hound)
  • Non-Sporting Group : Sage (Miniature Poodle)
  • Sporting Group : Micah (Black Cocker Spaniel)
  • Terrier Group : Frankie (Colored Bull Terrier)
  • Toy Group : Comet (Shih Tzu)
  • Working Group : Monty (Giant Schnauzer)

Who won Westminster Dog Show Terrier Group?

Last but not least, the Terrier Group.

“The terrier group is like the Kansas City Chiefs,” a Fox Sports broadcaster said, likening the group of dogs to the back-to-back Super Bowl champions . Why? Because the Terrier group has produced 47 Best in Show winners, the most out of the seven groups.

"Frankie," the Colored Bull Terrier, was named the best in the terrier group and will move on to Best in Show. A terrier last won the top honor in 2019 with a Wire Fox Terrier.

Who won Westminster Dog Show Working Group?

"Monty," the Giant Schnauzer, is back on top of the Working Group. For the second year in a row, Monty was named the best in his group and will advance to Best in Show for another crack at the top title.

Can Monty make history? A Giant Schnauzer has never won Best in Show. The Working Group has won Best In Show 15 times before, most recently in 2004 with a Newfoundland.

Crowd buzzes over Rafa, the Tibetan Mastiff named after tennis icon

It might be clay court season in the tennis world, but New York is buzzing over Rafa
Rafa the Tibetan Mastiff, that is.

Rafa the Tibetan Mastiff is named after none other than Spanish tennis legend Rafael Nadal , the 22-time Grand Slam winner. Tibetan Mastiffs are described as a “very stubborn” breed, which some would use to describe his namesake. Nadal has used that headstrong mentality to win four U.S. Open titles at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York, where the 148th Westminster Dog Show is being held for the second year in a row.

Who won Westminster Dog Show Sporting Group?

"Micah," the Black Cocker Spaniel, is the winner of the Sporting Group and will advance to Best in Show. Autumn "Sonnet" the German Shorthaired Pinter finished in second place, followed by "Accelerate" the Chesapeake Bay Retriever and "Cutter" the Labrador retriever.

A Black Cocker Spaniel has won Best in Show two times in Westminster history when "My Own Brucie" won the honor back-to-back in 1940 and 1941.

Martha Stewart: Westminster Dog Show superfan

Martha Stewart is quite the animal lover.

Less than two weeks after giving the “Riders Up” call at the 150th Kentucky Derby in Louisville, the legendary businesswoman dropped by the 148th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in New York. (Fun Fact: The Westminster Dog Show is the second longest continuously held sporting event behind only the Kentucky Derby.)

Back to Martha ... The mother to five canines said she loves coming to the dog show “to see the best of the best.” And she has past experience. In 2012, her late Chow Chow Genghis Khan won “Best in Breed” at the Westminster Dog Show that year.

“I try to make it an annual event because I really do love beautiful dogs
I see breeds I’ve never seen before,” she said. “My dogs are at home. I have two Chow Chows
and I have three (French Bulldogs). I  think I have a ‘Best in Show’ at home right now, Luna Moona, my newest Frenchie. She’s coming. Watch out.“

How to watch Westminster Dog Show 2024

The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show concludes Tuesday night and will run from 7:30 p.m. ET until 11 p.m. The event will be broadcast live on Fox Sports 1.

Westminster Dog Show live stream

Streaming for the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show will be available on FS1 Live and the Fox Sports app. Streaming is also available on Fubo  (regional restrictions apply).

Westminster Dog Show schedule

Prior to Best in Show judging, which will take place at the end of the event, the Sporting, Working and Terrier Groups will judged.

Westminster Dog Show groups

Dogs are divided into seven different groups: Sporting, Hound, Working, Terrier, Toy, Non-Sporting and Herding.

How does the Westminster Dog Show work?

Essentially, dog shows evaluate what is known as conformation, or a particular purebred dog’s adherence to its breed standard. There are 212 breeds of dog currently recognized by the American Kennel Club; those are divided into seven different groups: Sporting, Hound, Working, Terrier, Toy, Non-Sporting, Herding.

Dogs first compete among their own breed to select a Best of Breed or Best of Variety champion. The judges select the winner that most closely adheres to its breed standard, which is written and maintained by the national breed club, and then later approved by the AKC.

Once all the Best of Breed champions are crowned, those then compete against the other dog breeds in their respective groups. The group judge will then assess all the different Best of Breed champions to come up with four placements, with only the group winner advancing to Best in Show judging.

All seven group winners advance, and the Best in Show judge will assess the group winners to come up with Reserve Best in Show — or the runner-up recognition — and Best in Show, the top prize.

The 2024 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show is taking place at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens, N.Y.

Best of Show at Westminster in 2023

At the 147 th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, “Buddy Holly” made history . A six-year-old Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen (PBGV), he became the first of his breed to ever win the coveted Best in Show recognition in Westminster.

To get to Best in Show, “Buddy Holly” had to top 402 other dogs across 34 different breeds to win the Hound Group. Prior to his triumph, PBGVs had only one Hound Group win in Westminster, back in 2007.

“Buddy Holly” is from Palm Springs, California, and is owned by Janice Hayes. The American Kennel Club recognized PBGVs in 1991. They are shaggy-coated rabbit hunters originating from Vendée, France, on the country’s western coast.

Reserve Best in Show, or the runner-up award, at the 2023 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show went to “Rummie” the Pekingese.

Who won Westminster Dog Show Toy Group?

A 3.5-year-old male Shih Tzu from Monclova, Ohio, named “Comet” topped the 24 other dogs entered in the Toy Group on Monday night.

Shih Tzus were first recognized in 1969 and were bred in China, crossing ancient Chinese and Tibetan breeds. Shih Tzus in the show ring are known for having long, flowing coats and “Comet” was no exception with his gold, white and silver coat.

Who won Westminster Dog Show Hound Group?

A six-year-old Afghan Hound named “Louis,” hailing from Roseville, California, won the Hound Group Monday night, topping 34 other dogs in the process.

One of the oldest dog breeds on record, going back to around 4,000 B.C., Afghan Hounds were first recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1926. They are known for their long, flowing coat, but they served as hunting dogs in harsh, mountainous climates.

“Louis” wowed judges and fans with a silky, black coat, with a white tuft on his chest.

Who won Westminster Dog Show Herding Group?

Continuing a recent run of success for German Shepherds in Westminster — with wins in the Herding Group in 2016, 2017, 2022 and now 2024 — “Mercedes” advanced Monday night.

A four-year-old female from Bethesda, Maryland, “Mercedes” beat out 32 other breeds in the group.

German Shepherds are one of the most popular dogs in the U.S., ranking fourth in popularity in 2023, according to the American Kennel Club, which first recognized the breed in 1908. They were originally bred as sheep herding dogs in Germany.

“Mercedes” is the cousin of “Rumor,” the German Shepherd who won Best in Show in 2017, also handled by Kent Boyle.

Who won the Westminster Dog Show Non-Sporting Group?

“Sage,” a three-year-old miniature poodle from Houston prevailed over the 20 other dogs in the Non-Sporting Group Monday night.

Another well-known breed, ranking seventh in popularity according to the American Kennel Club, the miniature poodle was first recognized by the AKC in 1887. “Sage” is all black and sported a coiffed haircut complete with sculpted bracelets on her wrists.

Poodles come in three sizes (standard, miniature or toy) and are the national dog of France.

Westminster Dog Show agility 2024 results

If there was ever a name that fit a dog, it was “Nimble.” The All-American dog became the first mixed-breed dog to win the agility championship the Annual Masters Agility Championship in Westminster.

“Nimble” completed the obstacle course in 28.76 seconds, which was the third-fastest time in the 11-year history of the event and only the fifth time that a dog has completed the course in fewer than 30 seconds. The obstacle course includes various ramps, agility poles and jumps that each contestant must work through, with the fastest time winning.

Cynthia Hornor of Ellicott City, Maryland is “Nimble’s” owner. And while it was “Nimble’s” first agility championship, this marked the second consecutive agility title for Hornor, whose border collie, “Truant,” won in 2023 with a time of 28.68 seconds.
