Formatting Requirements

Text-based portions of theses must comply with specific formatting requirements in order to be approved and accepted by the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, the UBC Library, and Library and Archives Canada.
Please refer to Style Guides and Computer Tools and Resources for Thesis Preparation and Checking for more information.
Your graduation may be delayed if your thesis does not comply with all specifications and formatting requirements. Advance consent from the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies is required for any departures from these requirements.
Multimedia materials : Multimedia/non-text materials that cannot easily be included in a PDF of your thesis may have special formatting or archiving requirements. If multimedia are part of your thesis, please review " Mulitimedia Material " on this website, and the cIRcle File Format Guidelines
