'It is such an honour to be one of the EFMD Case Writing Competition winners, especially as a first-time case writer. This writing journey took me from brainstorming in boardrooms to exploring rubber plantations firsthand. It was a crash course in bridging the North/South divide in sustainability thinking. The creative challenge of turning complex issues into an engaging case was incredibly fun. I'm excited to see how this case might inspire the next generation of business leaders to approach sustainability challenges with a more global and empathetic mindset.'

The NIBS Worldwide Case Competition —one of the oldest undergraduate case competitions in the world—is a test of problem-solving ability, business acumen, cultural insight, communication skills, and teamwork. Teams of four undergraduate students compete on behalf of their respective universities. They receive written case studies focused on international business issues, and have a limited time to assess the challenges facing the organization and recommend a specific course of action to panels of senior managers, policymakers and academics.

All NIBS member institutions are eligible to enter the competition. Each participating school is represented by a single team, chosen by the school and consisting of four students and a faculty coach or coaches.

A Qualifying Round is held in November, involving a written submission prepared at teams’ home universities and evaluated by an expert panel. The top 16 finishers are invited to compete in the NIBS Championship Round, held at a host school selected by the NIBS Board. Over and above the unique learning opportunity and intense competition, Championship Round participants enjoy an unparalleled cultural and social experience that gives them the opportunity to develop their international network.

Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics is proud to be organizing the 29th edition of competition, and hosting the Championship Round in Nanchang, China from 16-21 March 2025.  To enter a team, please visit the registration page .
