Gypsy Rose Blanchard, 33, describes herself as an influencer on social media but it has left fans divided because of her criminal history, as they ask "who is she influencing?!"

Gypsy Rose Blanchard became a viral sensation following her release from prison - now, people have been left divided over how she describes herself in her social media bio.

The 33-year-old Munchhausen-by-proxy survivor became widely known for the shocking killing of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard back in June 2015. Dee Dee had falsely claimed that Gypsy had multiple serious illnesses, forcing her to undergo unnecessary treatments for years.

In reality, Gypsy-Rose was perfectly healthy and did not need to use a feeding tube or wheelchair. In 2015, after Dee Dee began to tighten her control

Feeling trapped and desperate, Gypsy conspired with her online boyfriend to murder her mother. She spent eight years in prison before being released in December 2023.

After gaining her freedom, Gypsy has become a prominent figure in the media, doing interviews, releasing a book and documentary series. She has gained more than 10.2million followers on TikTok, where she describes herself as an " Influencer, Author, Public Figure".

However, this description has left many people feeling divided as they expressed their feelings about it on the video-sharing app. One woman, who posts as @Alexa_bored11 , wrote: "Plz tell me why I'm just now seeing what Gypsy's TikTok bio says," before adding in the caption: "It honestly cringes me out so much."

The video racked up more than 36,000 likes, as others expressed their disapproval in the comments too. One user said: "Who is she influencing!?"

Another commented: "Gypsy is so delulu." A third argued: "No cuz “public figure” is wild." Meanwhile, other uses defended Gypsy for starting her life anew.

A viewer wrote: "Do you want it to say “ex murderer” or," as a second argued: "But… she is a public figure and she’s got 20m followers, so she’s an influencer. I don't understand why that's a problem?" Someone else penned: "Y'all switched up on her so fast."
