Theory, and Practice: Sharing my Experience in the Library Job Satisfaction Adaptations from various sources by: Sana Salsa
Sources of Job Satisfaction • Work environment and work mates can affect my overall productivity. • In addition, my job satisfaction can be affected by numerous factors, such as: • Working conditions • Interpersonal relations • Recognition and achievement • Supervision • Salary http://www.aafp.org/fpm/1999/1000/p26.html
Job Satisfaction • Five possible reasons why people stay at their job satisfied: • They like what they're doing. • Work gives them a sense of purpose. • They get along with colleagues. • Location is convenient or near their home. • Good salary and benefits are given by the institution. Of the five mentioned above, I identify myself with no.2: “the work gives me a sense of purpose”. http://www.jobstreet.com.ph/career-resources/employees-prefer-job-love-higher-pay#.VBXb6PmSyWk
How to Achieve Job Satisfaction • You can start achieving job satisfaction with your initial entry into the workforce. Get to know the persons you work with to really belong. • Whether your work is secretarial or clerical, you can take steps to give meaning to your job. Give the best out of difficult work situations by maintaining a positive attitude and having a cheerful disposition. • Be creative as you think of ways to change your circumstances – and manage your stress and to experience the rewards of your job.
Job Satisfaction • The Library is like my “second home” and I experience belongingness in this workplace.
