2211-National PhD Scholarship Programme 2023 2nd Term Application Results Announced!

2nd term application results of 2211-National PhD Scholarship Programs in 2023, run by the Science Fellowships and Grant Programs Directorate of TÜBİTAK, are announced. Applicants can view their application status in the "My Applications" section by logging in the BİDEB Application and Monitoring System ( ebideb.tubitak.gov.tr ).

• 409 PhD Students of 4.157 applications are supported for scholarship within the 2211-A National PhD Scholarship Program
• 3 PhD Students of 8 applications are supported for scholarship within the 2211-B National PhD Scholarship Program for Social Sciences and Humanities
• 150 PhD Students of 152 applications are supported for scholarship within the 2211-E National PhD Scholarship Program for Former Undergraduate and MSc/MA Scholars

IMPORTANT NOTE: Information regarding the documents that will be required to finalize the scholarship of the candidates who are entitled to receive a scholarship in the 2211-A and 2211-B Programs will be sent to the e-mail addresses of the candidates. In addition, the e-mail addresses of all students who are not eligible for the scholarship will be notified of their evaluation scores and the reasons for not being supported.

Türkiye Scholarships is a government-funded, competitive scholarship program, awarded to outstanding students to pursue full-time or short-term program at the top universities in Turkey. Applications will be open to applicants who wish to study at bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral levels.

The normal duration of award is:

• Undergraduate: 1 year Turkish Language course + 4-6 years (depending on the normal duration of the program) • Master’s: 1 year Turkish Language course + 2 years • PhD: 1 year Turkish Language course + 4 years

Scholarships at Koç University for international students

Koç University prides itself in offering scholarship packages for high-caliber international and domestic undergraduate and graduate students that meet our selective admissions criteria.

Undergraduate International Scholarships

Koç University awards merit-based tuition scholarships of 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100% to outstanding candidates each year (except for Medicine).  There is no separate application period or scholarship form. All candidates will be informed if they have been awarded a scholarship or not with their admission offer. To be considered for a merit-based scholarship please keep the following information in mind before submitting your application:

• Submitting an application without one of the required exam scores (SAT/ACT, IB, A-Levels, or others) significantly diminishes your admission chances and therefore your scholarship chances. You can see the list of eligible exam scores here .
• All admitted students are first evaluated for a merit-based scholarship by the Admissions Committee on the basis of academic merit only (need-blind). These scholarships can be awarded for 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100% of the annual tuition for the duration of the program. Merit-based scholarships do not include any other benefits (housing, living expenses, books, etc).
• The School of Medicine does NOT award any type of merit or need-based scholarships for admitted international students. You should carefully consider before applying if you are able to fund your Medicine studies without a scholarship.

Graduate International Scholarships (Master with Thesis/Research Masters)

To be considered for a scholarship:

• Complete and submit the online application form for your Master with Thesis program of interest with all the required documents (this includes a valid GRE/GMAT and TOEFL test score). There are NO SEPARATE SCHOLARSHIP FORMS. Graduate program applications are available here .
• Submitting an application without the required exam scores (GRE/GMAT, TOEFL) significantly diminishes your admission chances and therefore your scholarship chances.
• All admitted Master with Thesis students are awarded 100% merit-based scholarships by the relevant Graduate School (except for the Graduate School of Health Sciences). Merit-based scholarships may also include other benefits (living expenses, health insurance) depending on the Graduate School. Please note that the LLM with Thesis program is not included in this category.
• Scholarship results are communicated to candidates with the admission offer letter from the relevant Graduate School via email on the dates indicated on their respective websites under “Admission”.

Graduate International Scholarships (Master without Thesis/Taught Masters)

Eligibility Criteria for Turkey Government Scholarship

To qualify for Turkey Government Scholarship, you must fulfill the following requirements:

• Required Language:  English or Turkish
• Eligible Countries:  All World Countries
• Minimum academic achievement for Bachelor’s degree applicants: 70%
• Minimum academic achievement for Master’s and Doctorate degree applicants: 75%
• Minimum academic achievement for Health Science (Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy) applicants: 90%
• To be under the age of 21 for Undergraduate programs
• To be under the age of 30 for Master’s programs
• To be under the age of 35 for Doctorate programs
• Citizens of all countries
• Graduates or applicants who are able to graduate at the end of the current academic year (before August 2022)
• Researchers and academicians
• Turkish citizens and those who have lost Turkish citizenship
• Students already registered in Turkish universities at the level of study they are applying for
• You should have a TOEFL or IELTS (The Test of English as a Foreign Language) certification. The certification is an international benchmark which shows that you are good enough to take a course at a university, if you want to study in English.
• It is recommended that you should show an official academic record, showing all certificates, courses, and grades which you may have received in your academic career.
• You need to provide a letter stating your purpose in taking this scholarship program. If your Statement of Purpose requires improvements and the essential key points are missing in your SOP then, you may face rejection.
• Applicants should not have any health problems.
• Short-term scholarship programs may have additional application requirements, Please check the requirements during the application period.

How to Apply for Turkey Government Scholarship?

Please follow the following step by step instructions to avail Turkey Government Scholarship:

(1) Make an account on the website of the scholarship   from here

• Applications can only be made individually through  www.turkiyeburslari.gov.tr   by the candidates.
• There are no institutions or persons authorized to apply for Türkiye Scholarships.
• Candidates are strongly advised to carefully read the instructions and warnings in the application system.
• Applicants are required to submit and upload the necessary documents to the application system.
• Applications delivered by post, courier, or by hand will not be accepted.
• ​Applications are free of charge.
• Türkiye Scholarships include both scholarship and university placement at the same time. Applicants will be placed in a university and program among their 12 preferences which they choose in the application system

(2) Fill the application on the website with the Required Documents. (3) All candidates must submit the following documents during online application:

• A valid National Identification Document OR a valid Passport
• A recent Photo of the candidate (Please note that the photo you upload into the Application system must be a proper portrait of yourself, candidate photos which are not identifiable will undermine the evaluation of your application)
• National exam scores (required for candidates who do not possess any international qualification or certification)
• Diploma or temporary certificate of Graduation
• Academic transcripts (online screenshots and uncertified transcripts will undermine the evaluation of your application)
• International exam scores (GRE, GMAT, DELF, YDS, YÖS …etc. if required by the chosen university & program)
• Language test scores (if required by the chosen university & program)
• A research proposal and an example of your written work (for PhD applicants only)

For developing countries, and especially the Least Developed Countries, PhD scientists help build a foundation for scientific strength and human prosperity. TWAS offers between 100 - 160 PhD fellowships a year at some of the most respected institutions in the developing world. These fellowships are hosted in Brazil, China, India, Pakistan and South Africa.

According to an agreement between the Alliance of International Science Organizations (ANSO), the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS/UNESCO) for the advancement of science in developing countries, up to 40 students/scholars from developing countries will be sponsored to study in China for doctoral degrees for up to 4 years

Various programmes are offered at the master’s and PhD levels in the fields of social sciences, humanities, natural sciences and engineering.

Almost all fields of study are offered except the health departments.

The universities and departments that candidates can choose may vary depending on the educational background of the candidates. Candidates can only choose from the universities and departments offered to them in the system.

• Free Accommodation:

The Turkey Scholarship provides accommodation for students within public Turkish Universities without paying any fees. Students who do not wish to stay in University dormitory accommodation can choose other accommodation options at their own expense.

• No tuition fees :

Turkish scholarship students do not pay any administrative fees or tuition fees to Turkish universities.

• Health insurance:

When students start a scholarship in Turkey, all health expenses for all students are covered by public health insurance Health care is a big issue all over the world, especially if your nationality is from a foreign country. Fortunately, this is the case if you are a student on a scholarship in Turkey. -Note: If a student is unwell, all public health insurance costs will be covered, and the student will not have to pay any amount.

• Travel Expenses:

The scholarship is awarded once a flight ticket for their arrival in Turkey and their departure after completion of their studies, if the student will buy the ticket himself, the amount will be refunded later. Students receiving the scholarship will receive a card granting them the right to move, at a very low state-subsidized price.

Turkey Scholarship Application Language Criteria for 2023

Any student who is not fluent in Turkish must undergo a full course of Turkish language instruction for one year, but several conditions must be taken into account:

• The course for a whole year does not exceed or less than this period
• Work to improve students’ linguistic skills
• There are no exceptions to the Turkey Language course

Turkey Language will be offered to all international students even if there are some students learning other languages at the same time, and Turkey explained that this course to make the student stay more.

How to Apply for Turkey Government Scholarship for Undergraduate, Masters, and Doctoral degree Courses?

The selection criterion for Turkey Scholarships 2023-2024 is as follows:

Eligibility Criteria for Turkey Government Scholarship 2023-2024

The countries listed below are given preference for the Turkey Scholarship program in Turkey:

• United States of America
• The United Arab Emirates

But this does not mean that any student in any country is entitled to receive this grant. Some countries are open only to graduate studies.

• There is no age relaxation in the Turkey scholarship program
• Candidates should not be born before January 1999, if applying for an undergraduate degree in a Turkish scholarship program.
• Candidates should not be born before January 1990, for a Master’s degree if applying for a master’s degree in the Turkish scholarship program.
• For Ph.D. scholarships, the required date is January 1985
• For the Research program, the applicant must be born before 1975
• 70% of the applicant is required to study at the university for an undergraduate
• 75% of the applicant is required for master’s and doctoral degrees
• A 90% degree is necessary for applicants to study in medical schools
• Anyone who has Turkish citizenship or who has already acquired Turkish citizenship cannot run for these programs, and anyone who is already studying in Turkey cannot apply for these grants. Selected students must submit documents upon request., otherwise, they will not be entertained.
• Turkey’s scholarship program is open to all citizens of the world who meet these conditions.

How to Submit Application for Turkey Government Scholarship?

The applications for Turkey Scholarship are invited online every year before February 20th. You can apply online through the Turkish Scholarships online application system. When you are about to apply for your Turkish Scholarship program, prepare the all-important documents that you need to submit. The applicant should provide all the requirements accurately.

You must fill in all the required data. You should read the instruction before you start providing your information. The last date for Turkey scholarship submission is February 20, 2023, for Pakistani students. You better submit your application before the deadline. Remember; applying for the Turkish scholarship program is free. You are not supposed to pay any fee for it.
