為什麼學生學習概覽 (SLP) 如此重要?

增加大學面試和取錄的機會, 展現學術成績以外的技能, 嘗試代入大學面試官的角色, 個人自述內容緊記重質不重量, 論述時要展現個人獨特之處, jupas slp 格式結構建議, school particular (個人資料), academic performance (學業成績), other learning experience (其他學習經驗), list of major achievement in school(主要校內獎項), performances/awards outside school (校外表演或獎項), personal statement (個人自述), 各院校對 slp 有什麼要求?(附 jupas personal statement deadline) , 香港中文大學(cuhk), 香港科技大學(hkust), 香港浸會大學(buhk), 香港城市大學(cityu), 香港理工大學(polyu), 嶺南大學(lingu), 香港公開大學(ouhk), 香港教育大學(edu), 香港樹仁大學(hksyu), 香港恆生大學(hsu), 中文 slp 樣本和例子, slp english sample + example (英文版), slp sample 點評, 什麼是 jupas slp 學生學習概覽?(student learning profile).

  • JUPAS SLP
  • JUPAS SLP 可以中或者英文撰寫,院校比較着重資料內容。
  • 對 JUPAS SLP 冇特別要求。

The School of Science has divided the Science Program (JS5100) into two new program choices – Science (Group A) program (JS5102) and Science (Group B) program (JS5103). The two Science programs are designed to cater to the academic needs and aspirations of students. Science (Group A) program is tailor-made for those students who are interested in the fields of Physical Science. Science (Group B) program is more suitable for those students who are interested in the fields of Chemistry and Life Science.

IRE is a pioneer study track tailor-made for students with particular interest in pursuing a research career in Science or broadening their exposure to research during their undergraduate studies. It offers students an early opportunity to nurture their research abilities in addition to discipline-specific knowledge in regular Science programs.

The IRE program has a similar curriculum structure as the Science (Group A) and Science (Group B) programs. But students admitted to the IRE program can enjoy a FREE choice among six major programs offered by the School: Biochemistry and Cell Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Ocean Science and Technology, and Physics.

It further distinguishes itself from regular Science programs by providing students with:

Participation in advanced research projects under the supervision of world-class professors

Opportunities to meet with Nobel Laureates and renowned scientists

Individualized Research Guidance and Mentoring from experienced faculty members

Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP)

Exchange opportunity in renowned foreign universities / research institutes

Summer research internship opportunity in foreign universities and institutions

Scholarship support for overseas learning trips

Science (Group A) program   (JS5101)  is for the students who wish to spend more time exploring their interests in the field of physical science. Upon completion of the first year of study, they can opt to major in one of the major programs for Science (Group A) or the three programs with an Extended Major in Artificial Intelligence.

Students who have developed clear interests in both physical science and artificial intelligence may apply for Science (Group A) with an Extended Major in Artificial Intelligence (JS5181) . They can opt to major in either one of Mathematics/Physics/Ocean Science and Technology with an Extended Major in Artificial Intelligence upon completion of the first year of study.

Extra electives will be used as additional supporting information, such as a tiebreaker.

In admissions score calculation, since the School will consider 5 subjects for IRE, Science ( Group A), Science (Group A) with an Extended Major in Artificial Intelligence, and Science (Group B) Programs, and 6 subjects  for Biotechnology and Business and Mathematics and Economics Programs, additional subject(s) will be considered as a tie‐breaker or a bonus in admissions score calculation.

Students in the IRE program have free choice among six science major programs. Students in the Science programs who have 1 science subject at Level 5** are guaranteed entry to the corresponding science program.

Students' academic performance is the most important factor for consideration. Students who demonstrate exceptional abilities and performance in other areas will also be considered favorably, e.g. students who are the Hong Kong Team members or medalists of International Physics/Mathematics Olympiad Competitions.

For JUPAS students, we will consider an applicant’s overall profile and will take the following factors into account:

Subject performance;

Other Experiences and Achievements (OEA);

Additional electives;

Interview performance (if any);

Student Learning Profile (SLP);

A 500 word personal statement;

School Reference Report (academic performance, personal and general abilities)

OEA, SRR, SPN and SLP will be taken into account and will constitute a certain percentage of weighting in the assessment. Achievements under the OEA such as awards obtained in international competitions may be useful. Students having these awards may be considered for granting conditional offers. The University will consider OEA information, mainly for Band A students.

In general, we try to learn more about the applicant as a person e.g. on personality, aspirations, and motivation/suitability for the program applied. A good essay should tell a story and have a clear focus, reveal passion and expose personality, show creativity and independent thinking so that after reading, the reader would form a unique impression about the applicant.

Band A applicants who are nominated under the SPN scheme will be considered seriously. They may be given bonus points or conditional offers if they meet HKUST and the School of Science's minimum entrance requirements.

We will look at the students' HKDSE results together with other information including their band choice, interview performance, OEA, SRR, SLP to constitute a full picture of the students for assessment.

Students with full HKDSE and another full qualifications (such as IB, SAT, GCEAL) can apply via either the JUPAS or non-JUPAS route, but not both.

Through my study at HKUST, I’ve seen a much bigger world, and grown to be a much richer person intellectually and psychologically. In academic, I joined IRE and learned to be scientifically mature...

The application system will generate an email to him or her, with an online predicted grade form to be submitted directly online. The email request will be sent after you submit the application form. We recommend that the IB Coordinator/Career Master respond to the request within two weeks.

If your IB Coordinator/Career Master misses the email request, you may resend the request in the online application system.

You are required to include identity documents, a personal statement, high school transcripts for the past three years, proof of English language proficiency, public examination certificates, and proof of significant prizes and awards (if any) with your online application.

We welcome any other supporting documents that you wish to be taken into consideration. You can log in to the online application system and upload any supporting documents (i.e. awards, achievements) after you have submitted your application.

After confirming the details of your application, you may submit your application with an HKD450 application fee, which can be paid online using a Visa or Mastercard credit card.

Applications are reviewed holistically, based on the overall profile of each applicant. Admission results are usually released from December onward, and applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. You can log in to your online application portal to:

  • view the latest status of your application and important dates;
  • update personal contact details;
  • resend invitations to referees; and
  • upload additional supporting documents.

An admissions interview may be arranged, but is not a mandatory procedure of the admissions exercise except for some programs. You may click  here  to view the interview requirements. When you are invited for an interview, our colleagues will contact you on the arrangements via email.

As different application choices are considered separately, students may receive more than one offer and be informed at different times.

To accept HKUST’s offer and secure a place at HKUST, you must pay a deposit (HKD20,000 for non-local students and HKD5,000 for local students) by the acceptance deadline (usually within about 2-3 weeks). Upon accepting an offer, applicants will receive information on the submission of official documents, student visa application (for non-local students), course registration, accommodation, and orientation.

Admissions scholarships will be considered automatically after you have submitted your application. Details of admissions scholarships awarded will be released with admission offers.

Please visit the Scholarships and Finance Aid Office website  for details of more scholarship opportunities.

Students who hold certain qualifications, such as the IB Diploma, GCEAL/IAL, etc. or who have taken advanced courses prior to their admission to the University, may be eligible for credit transfer on entry. Students may be granted up to 30 credits, which will count towards the 120 credits required for graduation.

Details of credit transfer arrangements are available here .

20240529_consultation_day_1

HKBU held its JUPAS Consultation Day on 17 May, attracting over 400 students and parents to attend the admission talks and visit the programme consultation booths. Mr Ng Po-shing, Student Guidance Consultant of the Hok Yau Club, hosted the talk on “Strategies for JUPAS Programmes Selection”. He provided an overview of the JUPAS system to the participants and highlighted the points to note both before and after the release of the HKDSE results.

During the admission talks, Dr Lucia Fung, Associate Programme Director of the Bachelor of Business Administration Programme, shared interview tips while Ms Alice Lee, Head of the Admissions Office, provided the latest admissions information. After the talk, the participants joined the mini-fair where they directly interacted with the professors and current students from different programmes and gained a deeper understanding of the programmes and the latest information, so as to better prepare for the upcoming JUPAS result announcement.

CREATE IMPACTS WITH A GLOBAL AND STRATEGIC MINDSET

admission

GBUS is a highly sought-after program and top of its kind in Hong Kong. Capable and highly motivated students are empowered to create impacts with a global and strategic mindset.

PROGRAM-BASED ADMISSION

Admit to GBUS directly on entry.

ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS

We welcome candidates with diverse backgrounds to join us. Candidates who wish to enroll in GBUS program must fulfill the minimum admissions requirements specified by the HKUST Business School, depending on your admissions qualifications, i.e., JUPAS, IB, GCEAL/IAL, Mainland JEE, and many other international qualifications.

Interview is compulsory for admissions. Shortlisted candidates might be individually invited for up to two rounds of interview. No make-up interview will be arranged.

PATHWAY 1 - INTERNATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS [BBA in Global Business]

The first round will be a video-recorded interview; the second round will be an in-person or online interview. Interviews are conducted on a rolling basis. Putting GBUS as Choice 1 will be ideal for consideration.

PATHWAY 2 - JUPAS [JS5313 BBA in Global Business]

Selected Band A applicants who demonstrate talents and potential for Global Business study will be invited to engagement events organized by HKUST Business School or the GBUS program from May to July. The final round of interviews by the GBUS program will be conducted in late July soon after the release of HKDSE results.

PATHWAY 2 - ADDITIONAL MAJOR DECLARATION / PROGRAM TRANSFER

Students who have already had their first major in the School of Business and Management can pursue an additional major in GBUS. As for students studying at any other program at HKUST, you may opt for program transfer to GBUS. Approval of the relevant major program must be sought. As the majority of quotas are given to the first major selection applicants, GBUS, in rare circumstances, might accept only very few applications on a case-by-case review basis. The threshold requirement will be the same as Major Selection. Holistic assessment will be based on CGA, CV, personal statement, and interview performance. Students are highly recommended to apply to GBUS as their first major.

Additional Major Declaration : The only window to apply will be Year 2 Fall. For the additional major to be effective in Year 2 Spring, all relevant documents must be submitted by December 31.

Program Transfer for SBM Students : The only window to apply will be Year 2 Fall. For the program transfer to be effective in the following semester, all relevant documents must be submitted by December 31. The applications will only be considered after the completion of the main round of the SBM Major Selection Exercise (MSE) so that it is fair to all students as such requests should normally be accepted when there are still quotas left for the intake cohort.

For the program transfer to be effective in the following semester, all relevant documents must be submitted by June 30 or December 31. The applications will only be considered after the completion of the main round of the SBM Major Selection Exercise (MSE) so that it is fair to all students as such requests should normally be accepted when there are still quotas left for the intake cohort.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview in the following month once they have submitted their applications.

The quota of 3 is shared by all programs for each intake cohort.

Cohort Composition

Admissions Score – 2023 Intake

Our Program

The average cohort size is around 55 to 60 students.

GBUS is the first of its kind in Hong Kong. Taking “Create Impact with a Global and Strategic Mindset” as its vision statement, this highly sought-after business program is designed to develop capable and highly motivated students to tackle global challenges. GBUS graduates pursue their dreams of becoming responsible leaders through humility, enthusiasm, cultural sensitivity, compassion, and sound critical thinking.

Student Opportunities

Yes. As part of the graduation requirement, GBUS students are guaranteed to spend at least one semester studying abroad at a top business school of their choice, thus forming a wide global network. Some students can also join the exchange program twice to further extend their global learning across continents.

GBUS supports students to pursue wherever their true passion lies. The holistic GBUS experience prepares students to excel in any career paths they aspire. Many alumni are forming strong professional network in the finance and consulting industry, some of them even become entrepreneurs, or work in different management trainee program, conglomerate retail, marketing, start-up, tech-related industry, or professional services. etc.

HKUST is ranked 1st in Graduate Employability in Hong Kong and 23rd in the World in 2021. 100% of GBUS graduates were engaged in employment or further studies or returned to their homeland.

Yes. GBUS students are allowed to declare an additional major in Business disciplines if they fulfilled the minimum requirements by the end of Year 2.

The medium of instruction at HKUST is English. GBUS students are not required to know Cantonese or Mandarin. All the lectures, course materials and work will be conducted in English except for language courses and a small number of courses which require Chinese usage.

No. There will not be any GPA requirements to stay in GBUS. Most of our GBUS students are high achiever. They are very disciplined and highly motivated in both academic and non-academic arenas. However, please note there is a CGA requirement for renewable scholarships on admissions (if you are awarded one).

No. We do not have any preferred subjects in HKDSE as we value the diversity of our students’ backgrounds. GBUS calculates the HKDSE admissions score based on the results of 6 subjects attained. M1/M2 is treated in the same way as an elective. Extra core or elective subjects might generally be used for giving bonus points or as a tiebreaker only.

You are encouraged to check out our last year admissions score reference in the Figures and Statistics section of this page.

Selected Band A applicants who demonstrate talents and potential for the GBUS program will be invited for an interview. Shortlisted JUPAS candidates will have engagement events and a compulsory Main Round interview. The engagement events will be organized by the HKUST Business School from May to June, and one by the GBUS program in early July, before the release of HKDSE results. Main Round interviews by the GBUS program will be conducted in late July after releasing of HKDSE results.

The format of interview differs every year. The purpose of interview is to assess your critical thinking, communication skill, presentation skill, teamwork, etc. Interview questions cover a wide range of areas, and their purpose is to make sure it is a good fit between the candidate and our program.

A minimum level of academic excellence is a must to get admitted to the program. Beyond so, the program also looks for promising students with good attitude, presentable demeanor, and a good fit for a career in business. The weight of the interview score shall not be over 40% of the total admissions composite score.

Yes. If you are invited to the first-round interview, you will receive a formal feedback letter from us on your interview performance. In general, we do not provide formal feedback to the final-round interview.

Yes. Remember we emphasize the quality of your activities rather than the quantity. Bonus points will be awarded to final Band A applicants with impressive records and personal statements.

No. We accept repeated attempts and combined certificates. There will be no score penalty given the minimum admissions requirements are met.

In general, we do not issue conditional offers for JUPAS applicants except if you are enrolled in particular JUPAS admission schemes.

We strongly advise students to put GBUS as their top JUPAS choice. To maximize your chance of admissions to HKUST Business School, you are encouraged to include Business & Management among your Band A application choices for concurrent consideration. Students at school-based and program-based routes will follow an identical broad curriculum in their first three terms.

International Qualifications

GBUS considers a wide range of international qualifications. Students applying with international qualifications are expected to fulfill the General Admissions Requirements (GAR) and English Language Requirements (ELAR). We do not have any preferred subjects in public examinations as we value the diversity of our students’ backgrounds.

For IB students, an IB score of 41 or above will typically be considered competitive in academic achievement. Apart from your IB score, we also review the overall strength of the application, together with compulsory interviews.

We review the overall strength of the application in addition to the GCEAL/IAL score. In recent years, we admitted students with 3A* or above in GCEAL/IAL.

Yes. If you have extra qualifications, you may include them in your application profile. It will supplement your application and assist the School to review your application holistically.

Your personal statement is all about you as a mature individual. We expect to see in your personal statement your strength, passion, aspiration, significant learning experience, logical thinking, or any information you feel will be of interest to the selection panel. It would be great to learn that you are a good fit with GBUS core values and potential to benefit from, add value, and contribute to our community. There is no restriction on your personal statement with regard to its format, content, length, etc.

CV is a track record of initiatives and achievements that best represent yourself, i.e., leadership, community services, sports, projects, competitions, etc. A one-page highlights your recent and most significant experience and achievements.

No. HKUST does not offer Spring admissions. All students shall start their academic year in September.

GBUS admits students and gives firm or conditional offers on a rolling basis. Thus, we encourage students who are interested in joining us to apply early in the Early Round Application. You do not have to initiate a new application for the Main Round application if you did not hear any results from the Early Round. We will automatically consider your application for the Main Round application.

We start conducting interviews with shortlisted candidates in late November. Interview invitations will be sent to shortlisted candidates on a rolling basis. We usually will arrange a face-to-face interview. In case the candidate could not attend the face-to-face one, an online interview might be an alternative.

Yes, you can still update supporting documents after application submission. Make sure the documents are submitted as early as possible. For documents that are not yet available at the point when the application is submitted, please make sure you indicate the "Expected Upload Date" in the "Supporting Documents" section.

Yes, you can make an appeal to your application result unless you have new evidence of your official academic performance.

Major Selection Exercise

Only students in SBM programs are eligible for MSE. All students, whether admitted through School-based (SBA) or Program-based (PBA) Admission, must join MSE if they want to declare or change their major. Once they have received a major offer, they cannot join MSE again.

Interview priority will go to candidates who put GBUS as their first choice. Putting GBUS as a non-first choice will not be considered if our quota is filled with first-choice candidates. It is also a good indicator of your will and determination to consider GBUS as first among your program choices.

It will be best to apply when your profile is strong. There is no need to rush into this since there are a few MSE cycles for you to enter.

CGA, selected course performance, together with your CV and personal statement, are required for the paper screening for the interview shortlist.

The CGA requirement is 3.0 or above, with C+ above in MATH course (B+ or above in ISOM2500 for those who fail to meet the Math course requirement); and B- or above in LANG 1401/1402 & LANG 1403/1404. There is no definite CGA range we are looking for as long as students pass eligibility and other shortlisting criteria for the interview shortlist.

We start conducting interviews with shortlisted candidates as scheduled by the School. Interview invitations will be sent to shortlisted candidates. We will only arrange a face-to-face interview for MSE candidates. No make-up arrangement will be entertained.

For interviews, there is very little direct preparation you can do. Maybe the group projects and in-class discussions in the courses that you are doing can give you opportunities to gain more experience for the group discussion part of the interview.

We interview many students each round, therefore we will not be able to provide any detailed feedback. Also, please know that we had to prioritize and were unable to accept all good candidates due to the quota. There is no appeal system. For re-application, there is no harm in trying buy you should have realistic expectations. You are suggested to reflect on previous compromising factors: quota, academic results, co-curricular records, and interview performance; and consider whether these factors have tremendously changed.
