No, the desktop applications in Creative Cloud, such as Photoshop and Illustrator, are installed directly on your computer, so you don't need an ongoing Internet connection to use them.

An Internet connection is required the first time you install and license your apps, but you can use the apps in offline mode with a valid software license. The desktop apps will attempt to validate your software licenses every 30 days.

Annual members can use the apps for up to 99 days in offline mode. Month-to-month members can use the software for up to 30 days in offline mode.

Your Creative Cloud files are stored on your desktop as well as on the Creative Cloud servers. If you cancel or downgrade your paid membership, you will still have access to all of the files in the Creative Cloud folder on your computer and via the Creative Cloud website.

What is the first thing that we want to achieve with creative presentations? We want to grab our audience's attention and retain that attention throughout the whole presentation.

Not sure how to do that? Here are 7 ideas to get you and your audience inspired:

1. Explore the world of video presentations

We aren't talking about simply downloading your PowerPoint templates in a video format, but creating videos from scratch with no filming equipment or editing experience.

How do you make a presentation creative.

Creating presentations doesn't have to mean simply typing in text on a white background in Google Slides themes. You can instead opt for a fun design for your next presentation and impress your audience.

1. Add colorful backgrounds to your presentation slides

We're so used to simple white Google Slides themes that we rarely experiment with other background colors. Play around with the background and choose a color that best fits your theme.

2. Use a fun template

Whether you're browsing creative PowerPoint templates or themes on Google Slides, choosing a fun template for your next presentation can improve information retention and help you stand out.

3. Feature a bright color palette

When we add text to presentation slides, 9 times out of 10 we go for the standard black. Why not experiment with other color palettes to create a beautiful template you would want to use again and again. If you are unsure where to start, search for popular complementary color combinations, or use a color palette generator to see which colors work well together.

4. Add an artistic flair

Take your original template and experiment with untraditional shapes and visual elements that don't necessarily serve a practical function, but simply look good. Breaking up large portions of text on slides with style will improve the information retention of your audience.

Veo generates high-quality 1080p resolution videos in a wide range of cinematic and visual styles that can go beyond a minute. With an advanced understanding of natural language and visual semantics, it generates video that closely represents a user’s creative vision — accurately capturing a prompt’s tone and rendering details in longer prompts.

The model provides an unprecedented level of creative control, and understands cinematic terms like “timelapse” or “aerial shots of a landscape”. Veo creates footage that’s consistent and coherent, so people, animals and objects move realistically throughout shots.

Our collaborations with the music community

As part of our continued exploration into the role AI can play in art and music creation, we’re collaborating in partnership with YouTube , with some amazing musicians, songwriters and producers.

These collaborations are also informing the development of our generative music technologies, including Lyria , our most advanced model for AI music generation.

As part of this work, we’ve been developing a suite of music AI tools called Music AI Sandbox. These tools are designed to open a new playground for creativity, allowing people to create new instrumental sections from scratch, transform sound in new ways and much more.

We're partnering with musicians, songwriters, and producers to investigate the exciting role artificial intelligence can have in the music creation process.

Today, we’re continuing that experimentation in music with Grammy-winning musician Wyclef Jean, Grammy-nominated songwriter Justin Tranter and electronic musician Marc Rebillet — who are releasing new demo recordings on their YouTube channels, created with help from our music AI tools.

Wyclef Jean, Justin Tranter, and Marc Rebillet are the first to release new demos using the Music AI Sandbox, and each demo is now available for listening on their YouTube channels.

We’re mindful about not only advancing the state of the art, but doing so responsibly. So we’re taking measures to address the challenges raised by generative technologies and helping enable people and organizations to responsibly work with AI-generated content.

For each of these technologies, we’ve been working with the creative community and other external stakeholders, gathering insights and listening to feedback to help us improve and deploy our technologies in safe and responsible ways.

We’ve been conducting safety tests, applying filters, setting guardrails, and putting our safety teams at the center of development. Our teams are also pioneering tools, such as SynthID , which can embed imperceptible digital watermarks into AI-generated images, audio, text and video. And starting today, all videos generated by Veo on VideoFX will be watermarked by SynthID .

The fastest, most secure Windows PCs ever built  

We introduced an all-new system architecture to bring the power of the CPU, GPU, and now a new high performance Neural Processing Unit (NPU) together. Connected to and enhanced by the large language models (LLMs) running in our Azure Cloud in concert with small language models (SLMs), Copilot+ PCs can now achieve a level of performance never seen before. They are up to 20x more powerful [1] and up to 100x as efficient [2] for running AI workloads and deliver industry-leading AI acceleration. They outperform Apple’s MacBook Air 15” by up to 58% in sustained multithreaded performance [3] , all while delivering all-day battery life.  With incredible efficiency, Copilot+ PCs can deliver up to 22 hours of local video playback or 15 hours of web browsing on a single charge. [4] That is up to 20% more battery in local video playback than the MacBook Air 15”. [5]

Windows now has the best implementation of apps on the fastest chip, starting with Qualcomm. We now offer more native Arm64 experiences than ever before, including our fastest implementation of Microsoft 365 apps like Teams, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, OneDrive and OneNote. Chrome, Spotify, Zoom, WhatsApp, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, Blender, Affinity Suite, DaVinci Resolve and many more now run​ natively on Arm to give you great performance with additional apps, like Slack, releasing later this year. We set out to solve one of the most frustrating problems we encounter daily – finding something we know we have seen before on our PC. Today, we must remember what file folder it was stored in, what website it was on, or scroll through hundreds of emails trying to find it.   

Now with Recall, you can access virtually what you have seen or done on your PC in a way that feels like having photographic memory. Copilot+ PCs organize information like we do – based on relationships and associations unique to each of our individual experiences. This helps you remember things you may have forgotten so you can find what you’re looking for quickly and intuitively by simply using the cues you remember. [7]

You can scroll across time to find the content you need in your timeline across any application, website, document, or more. Interact intuitively using snapshots with screenray to help you take the next step using suggested actions based on object recognition. And get back to where you were, whether to a specific email in Outlook or the right chat in Teams.

Recall leverages your personal semantic index, built and stored entirely on your device. Your snapshots are yours; they stay locally on your PC. You can delete individual snapshots, adjust and delete ranges of time in Settings, or pause at any point right from the icon in the System Tray on your Taskbar. You can also filter apps and websites from ever being saved. You are always in control with privacy you can trust.

Cocreate with AI-powered image creation and editing, built into Windows

Since the launch of Image Creator, almost 10 billion images have been generated, helping more people bring their ideas to life easily by using natural language to describe what they want to create. Yet, today’s cloud offerings may limit the number of images you can create, keep you waiting while the artwork processes or even present privacy concerns. By using the Neural Processing Units (NPUs) and powerful local small language models, we are bringing innovative new experiences to your favorite creative applications like Paint and Photos.

Combine your ink strokes with text prompts to generate new images in nearly real time with Cocreator. As you iterate, so does the artwork, helping you more easily refine, edit and evolve your ideas. Powerful diffusion-based algorithms optimize for the highest quality output over minimum steps to make it feel like you are creating alongside AI. Use the creativity slider to choose from a range of artwork from more literal to more expressive. Once you select your artwork, you can continue iterating on top of it, helping you express your ideas, regardless of your creative skills.

Traveling arts organization sparks creative writing skills in students across Santa Barbara County

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Elementary school students in Santa Barbara County are getting a chance to write a story with the help of the people behind an award-winning podcast.

Students at Brandon Elementary in Goleta are being entertained by Story Pirates.

The traveling arts organization brings the kids into a story creation zone, where actors from Story Pirates use the students' ideas to create a story on the spot.

The show is part of the UCSB Arts and Lectures Art Adventures Program.

"The Story Pirates are a traveling arts organization that travels throughout the United States," said director Jenna Hamilton-Rolle of education and community engagement at the UCSB Arts and Lectures Art Adventures Program.

F1 24 Creative Director Reveals 'Philosophy' Around Handling Model

Formula 1 is a sport defined by precision, speed, and the utmost control, qualities that fans and players expect to see mirrored in their favorite F1 video games. Recently, Lee Mather, the creative director of F1 24 , shared insights into the philosophy that guides the handling model of their latest release, ensuring it satisfies both hardcore fans and newcomers to the series.

Mather explained how the game's development team aims to replicate the real-world physics of Formula 1 cars, but within limits that make the game approachable for players.

"So we have a philosophy around the handling model, which is 'the closer it is to reality in the majority of ways, within reason, makes it more approachable'. Because if you have an understanding of how a car is going to behave, that makes it easier to drive and more approachable and that's ultimately what Formula 1 drivers want."

One key aspect of enhancing the game's realism is integrating feedback from professional drivers such as Max Verstappen. This input is vital as it leads to a game that accurately simulates how a real F1 car responds to various inputs, mirroring the quick yet predictable behavior that the drivers expect from their machinery. Mather highlighted the importance of predictability in the game's design, noting, "They need to know exactly what that car is going to do to any given input.

"So we build a model, which reflects that as effectively as we can in the game. We also take on a lot of feedback from the drivers, the majority of which is incredibly relevant to making it not only more authentic but also a more approachable experience."

To cater to a wider audience, F1 24 includes various features to assist players of different skill levels just like the pervious versions of the racing game. Anti-lock brakes, traction control, steering assists, and automated systems such as the Energy Recovery System (ERS) and Drag Reduction System (DRS), are all on the menu and help mimic the dynamics of driving an actual Formula 1 car. Moreover, players can adjust these assistance levels based on their familiarity and comfort with racing mechanics.

"So we take a lot of feedback from the drivers and process it in a way that is relatable to the players. So for example, in recent years, something that we've heard from several of the drivers has been traction isn't good enough in-game and that a Formula 1 car's traction is way more impressive than anybody could possibly imagine out of a corner and that it's very rare they ever break traction out of a corner, unless it's a particularly slow corner.

"Or they're being overly aggressive or the tires are worn or cold. So traction is an area that we've really focused on, which kind of comes a lot from not only the changes we've made to the tire model, but also the suspension kinematics and the changes in weight, the center of mass location.

"So now the weight transfer to the rear. The fact that the suspension can cope with anti-dive and anti-squat, you know, it allows for the anti-squat, for the contact patch of the tire to be more effective. So all of those things, very, very real world, very simulation, but they actually feed into having a car that's more approachable."

The ultimate goal for F1 24 is to create a balanced, realistic driving experience that mimics the precision and predictability required by F1 drivers, while still being engaging and playable for gamers, irrespective of their racing experience. By doing so, the team hopes to not only honor the technicalities of the sport but also broaden its appeal and accessibility to everyone.
