The entrance exams for PhD courses conducted in India may vary university-wise. PhD admission in India is based on enrollment to several universities. Universities accept the results of either a national-level or a university-level entrance examination. The following section summarises the PhD admission 2024 entrance exam schedule. Mentioned below is the list of the top entrance exams for PhD in India:

As discussed, PhD admission 2024 is primarily based on entrance exams. Applicants can select from several PhD specialisations, including mathematics, engineering, education, and engineering. The table below shows the exam schedules for India's most competitive PhD entrance exams.

Prospective applicants can take part in the PhD admission process in India with a bachelor's as well as a master's degree. However, they must be conscious that to be eligible to register for a PhD study at any of the Indian schools, they need to meet a certain percentage requirement (or comparable CGPA). PhD admission is granted based on the interview. If required, in addition to the in-person interview, a written exam may be administered at a respective university's discretion. The following is a discussion of how students can apply for admission to their preferred PhD course.

  • On the official portal of their preferred college or university, applicants should review all the details on all PhD courses before selecting their specific research topic.
  • Those who wish to apply for PhD admission in India 2024 should keep an eye out for notifications about admission to their desired course on the university's official website (preferable) and in the local newspaper.
  • The individual needs to cross-check if they match PhD eligibility criteria. Next, they should fully complete the application and submit it by the dates specified on the official portal. Additionally, aspirants need to be mindful that they need to register by the formulated deadline along with all necessary documents and fees.
  • A few Indian universities stipulate that applications must be submitted with a research proposal; the application itself is reviewed afterwards.
  • Most colleges shortlist candidates after the examination, and those only then appear for the entrance exam. There is one more testing phase included to reduce the number of applicants for PhD admission in India.
  • The individuals selected for the PhD programme are subsequently paired with research mentors.

Typically, PhD admissions in India are carried out in the spring and fall semesters. Usually, the Spring Cycle starts in January and ends in June with admissions. Maharashtra FYJC Instructions for Non-State Board Students:

Fill 'Part A' of the FYJC application forms.

Provide 'best five' outcomes as stated by the CAP committee.

NIOS students should submit marks as shown on their mark sheet.

Maharashtra State Board considers ICSE admissions based on the subject group.

For International Board (IB) students, marks conversion will not use the 'best of five' method.

The students who passed the 10th class can apply for this FYJC admission application. Admissions to FYJC are open to Class 10 graduates. Prospective students aiming for FYJC Maharashtra affiliated colleges need to complete the online application via the official website. The 2024 FYJC online application form allows candidates to specify preferred colleges and streams (Commerce, Science, or Arts). Seat allocation is based on merit and candidate preferences. Students need to utilise their school's dedicated guidance centres for assistance throughout the application and admission process. The FYJC admission process involves two steps:

Step 1: Online Registration Form Filling (Part - I)

Visit the official Maharashtra FYJC website, 11thadmission.org.in.

Select your area by clicking on it.

Click on the 'New Registration' button on the homepage to access the registration form.

Enter details like candidate name, phone number, email ID, password, qualifying status, seat number, year, and other required information.

Verify all details for accuracy and then click on the 'Register' button.

Note down the application form number and login ID displayed on the screen, which will also be sent to your registered mobile number.

Keep a record of these crucial details and print them for future reference.

Click the 'Proceed to Login' button.

Enter your login ID, password, and captcha, then click the login button.

Once logged in, the student dashboard and progress of the Part-1 application form will be visible.

Review each section, make necessary modifications, and then click 'Save & Next'.

Upload required documents (each document should be equal to or less than 1MB in size).

After uploading documents, proceed to pay the FYJC application fee through any preferred method.

After fee payment, lock the application form to prevent further changes. Review all details before locking.

Within two days, the application form will be confirmed by the secondary school or guidance centre. If not, contact the Guidance Centre.

Monitor application progress in phases and print a copy for record-keeping.

If no longer interested, students can withdraw their application from the Maharashtra 11th admission process.

After logging in, a new registration page will appear where students must complete the registration process.

Enter all required details including college information, address, contact information (phone numbers, email addresses), hostel facility details, and stream preferences.

Upload necessary documents for review by the department.

Part-2 form should include Maharashtra board Class 10 marks.

When applying online, students can select up to ten junior colleges as their preferred choices for admission.

Note that changes cannot be made once the college registration form is submitted.

Verified students can participate in the FCFS round by following these steps:

Students need to choose a region for the FCFS round on the website.

Enter log in details, including login ID and password.

Upon logging in, students can monitor their data and application form status via the online dashboard.

Select the 'Participate in FCFS' option.

Provide stream code or UDISE code, or select stream and medium, then search for the desired college.

Review charges and available seats in listed universities, then click 'Apply Now' for the chosen college.

After applying to a college, students must confirm allotment by clicking the 'OK' button within the designated window.

Print the allotment letter for further admission procedures.

If a pop-up notification indicates no college assignment, students can re-apply for another college in the same manner when vacancies arise.

After checking allotment status, students must complete admission procedures at the respective colleges before the deadline.

If desired, students can cancel allocation by selecting 'Yes' on the 'Cancel FCFS Allotment' button.

The FYJC 11th admission process offers several benefits, making it advantageous for students. These include a streamlined and straightforward selection procedure, facilitating ease for applicants. The method incorporates online enrollment and fee payment, enhancing convenience. Additionally, there's increased quota allocation for students with special needs and reduced reservation for Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) in Maharashtra.

Moreover, the FYJC admission process brings about positive impacts such as an expanded quota for Divyang students, a 12% reservation for Maratha candidates, and an in-house quota for students from specific institutions.

Furthermore, FYJC 11th admissions feature an online admission process, ensuring compliance with physical distancing rules. There's also the flexibility of conducting additional rounds to fill vacant seats, providing further opportunities for applicants. These aspects collectively contribute to the advantageous nature of online FYJC 11th admissions.
