LIST: LET Room Assignments September 2024 Teachers board exam

MANILA, Philippines – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) will release soon the full list of room assignment for the September 29, 2024 (Sunday) LET - Licensure Exam for Teachers or teachers board exam to be conducted in at least 38 testing centers in the country.

LET as one of the biggest licensure exam being handled by PRC and the Board of Professional Teachers (BPT) is expected to amass a total of over 100,000 takers (Elementary and Secondary).

According to PRC Resolution No. 1836 series of 2024 for the revised schedule of board exam from August to December 2024, the September 2024 LET shall be conducted in Manila, Baguio, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Calapan, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Palawan, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, Zamboanga, Antique, Bacolod, Batanes, Bayambang, Bohol, Catanduanes, Catarman, Cauayan, Digos, Dumaguete, General Santos, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Kidapawan, Laguna, Marinduque, Masbate, Mati, Occidental Mindoro, Romblon and Tagum.

PRC General Instructions to LET Examinees

1. Check or verify your school/building assignments at the PRC official website (www.prc.gov.ph) or through the Notices/ Announcements to be posted at the PRC premises two (2) to three (3) working days before the date of examination.

2. On the day of the examination, report to the school/building assignment not later than 5:30 A.M. Be punctual. Late examinees will not be admitted .

3. You are required to wear the following attire on examination day:

a. Male Examinees - Tucked-in white polo shirt with collar (without any seal, logo or mark), decent pants or slacks

b. Female Examinees - Tucked-in white blouse or shirt with collar (without any seal, logo or mark), decent pants or slacks

4. Pursuant to Board Resolution No. 25 (s 2019), "Recommending Modifications to Commission Memorandum Circular No. 19 (s 2008): Updated list of non-programmable calculators allowed to be used in the licensure examinations", examinees for the Secondary level, with major in Mathematics, may use calculators during the LET, provided, that such calculators have the following features only: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, trigonometric function, logarithm and xy.

5. Examinees must be well-groomed , with hair properly clipped and/or pony tailed.

6. Bring the following on examination day:

a. Official Receipt of payment of application for examination

b. One (1) piece Long Transparent White Plastic Envelope (for keeping your valuables and other allowed items)

c. One (1) piece long size brown envelope

d. Two (2) or more Pencils (No. 2)

e. Ball pen with black ink only .

7. The following are STRICTLY PROHIBITED inside the examination rooms/premises:

a. Books, notes, review materials, and other printed materials containing coded data/information/formula;

b. For LET Elementary Level - all kinds of calculator

For LET Secondary Level - all kinds of calculator except for those with mathematics major pursuant to the Board Resolution No. 25 series 2019.

Note: Only one basic calculator shall be allowed inside the examination room. All calculators shall be inspected and have to be reset before the start of the examination.

c. APPLE, SAMSUNG AND OTHER SMART WATCHES, CELLULAR PHONES, EAR PLUGS, TRANSMITTERS, PORTABLE COMPUTERS, BLUETOOTH AND OTHER ELECTRONIC GADGETS/DEVICES WHICH MAY BE USED TO RETRIEVE DATA/INFORMATION AND/OR TO COMMUNICATE FOR WHATEVER PURPOSE.

d. Bags of any kind (ladies’ bag, shoulder bags, attaché case, backpack, etc.);

e. Other examination aides not stated in this program.

All personal belongings of the examinees shall be surrendered to the proctor and shall be placed in a secured space within the examination room.

The rules on the conduct of bodily search, inspection of personal belongings of the examinees, and the seizure/confiscation of prohibited items during the licensure exam (Annex A of PRC Memorandum Order No. 57 (s. 2020) shall be strictly observed.

8. Examinees and examination personnel are encouraged to observe the minimum health standards per DOH Circular No. 0324 (s. 2023) through the conduct of the examination.

9. Read carefully and follow the instructions on your NOTICE OF ADMISSION and EXAMINEES GUIDE.

COVERAGE OF EXAM

The second licensure exam for teachers this year covers general education and professional education subjects (Elementary Level) and with the inclusion of specialization for Secondary Level only.

To pass the examination, taker must obtain an average rating of not less than 75% and must have no rating lower than 50% in any of the tests.

How many test items are in Professional and General Education (LET Elementary)? For the Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) graduates, the examination consists of two parts: General Education and Professional Education. Each part consists of 150 test items that will be taken for over 3 hours.

Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED)

How many test items are in Prof. Ed., Gen. Ed., and Major (LET Secondary with Majorship)? For the Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED) graduates, the examination consists of three parts: General Education, Professional Education, and their Major. The same with BEED, each component also consists of 150 test items which will be taken for more or less 3 hours. General Education  refers to the core subjects like  Filipino , English , Math , Science , and Social Science/Studies. Professional Education  refers to the subjects related to the teaching profession like Developmental Reading, Principles of Teaching, Facilitating Learning, Assessment, Child and Adolescent Development, Methods and Strategies, Curriculum Development, and Teaching Profession . Area of Specialization , on the other hand, refers to the majorship or the specific field that BSED graduate will handle like English, Biology, Chemistry, Values, Mathematics, Filipino, Social Studies, Music, Art, Physical Education, and Health or MAPEH, Technology and Livelihood Education, Agriculture and Fishery Arts.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) will release the room assignments for the March 2024 Licensure Exam for Teachers (LET) a few weeks before the examination.

The March 2024 Licensure Exam for Teachers (LET)  will be conducted on September 24, 2023 at PRC testing centers located at Metro Manila, Baguio, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, Zamboanga, Antique, Bacolod, Bayambang, Bohol, Catanduanes, Catarman, Cauayan, Digos, Dumaguete, General Santos, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Kidapawan, Marinduque, Masbate, Mati, Occidental Mindoro, Palawan, Romblon, and Tagum.

Who can take the licensure examination for teachers.

• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
• Filipino citizens or aliens whose country has reciprocity with the Philippines as stated by RA No. 7836 as amended by RA 9293.
• Applicants must be of good moral character and reputation with moral values. Applicants must not be convicted by the court by final judgment for an offense involving moral turpitude.

Qualifications

Enumerated below are the qualifications that are required for candidates who want to become professional teachers in the Philippines:

• An applicant who aspires to be a professional education teacher must have a BSEEd degree or its equivalent.
• Similarly, applicants who aim to be licensed secondary education teachers must have a bachelor’s degree in education or its equivalent.
• All candidates with an equivalent degree must take at least 18 units in Professional Education to qualify.
• Applicants are qualified to take the exam if they have a bachelor’s degree in arts and sciences with a minimum of ten units in professional education and holders of Early Childhood Education (BECED) degrees.
• For graduates who want to be licensed teachers in the Philippines to teach vocational and two-year technical courses, a bachelor’s degree in the field of profession or its equivalent is a requirement and must have attained at least 18 units in professional education to be qualified to take the exam.

Requirements for First Timers

After you have verified that you are eligible to take the LET, you must submit your application with the documents listed below.

• A printed copy of your appointment schedule;
• Original and photocopy versions of your Transcript of Records (TOR), the seal of the school, date of graduation, with scanned picture and remarks: “For Board Examination Purposes Only”;
• Original and photocopy versions of your Birth Certificate issued by the PSA;
• Examination Fee of 900 pesos

For married female applicants, provide the original and photocopy versions of your marriage contract issued by the PSA;

• Original and photocopy versions of any government-issued ID.
• Present a photocopy of the SO (Special Order) duly signed the CHED if your school is not exempted from the issuance of SO.

Requirements for Retakers

For applicants re-taking the LET, prepare the following documentary LET exam requirements and submit them to your designated PRC Regional Office on the appointment date:

• Original Notice of Admission (for the previous exam);
• If the NOA is no longer available, you can present a photocopy of your TOR.
