The aim of this research is to examine the connection between inventory management practices (IMP) and their impact on the operational performance (OP) of SMEs. This investigation is conducted through a systematic literature review, with a specific focus on the perspective of supply chain and Industry 5.0 technology. This study uses bibliometric analysis and Scopus to extract and process relevant articles from 2000 to 2023, employing advanced techniques like biblioshiny and VOS-viewer to identify influential elements. This review revealed valuable insights like five clusters, seven thematic areas, and four emerging research contents. These findings offer a roadmap for future theoretical and empirical research in both SMEs and large manufacturing industries. Notably, SMEs’ operational performance is impacted by knowledge of high-tech technologies like IoT, big data, and ML, aiding in inventory cost reduction. The study’s innovation lies in integrating bibliometric analysis and systematic review, examining the crucial link between IM practices and SMEs’ operational performance, and identifying research gaps and emerging trends for further exploration and enhancement in operations research.

Effectiveness of inventory management is a vital part in the manufacturing organization to be more competitive. The previous studies have indicated that there are several factors influencing the effectiveness of inventory management in the organization but there is lack of researchers who carried out the research in the manufacturing small medium enterprise in Johor. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to identify the problem of inventory management faced by the manufacturing small medium enterprise and also to determine the factors that will influence the effectiveness of inventory management. In completing this research, 80 employees were selected randomly from the manufacturing small medium enterprise in Batu Pahat, Johor and they were requested to complete questionnaires. The result have shown that the problems of inventory management faced by manufacturing organization were underproduction, overproduction, stock out situation, delays in the delivery of raw materials and discrepancy of records. The factors, documentation/store records, planning, knowledge of employees/staff skill have shown to significantly influence the effectiveness of inventory management while the funds have shown slightly significant influence on the inventory management in manufacturing small medium enterprises. This quantitative study is important to the manufacturing organization in Malaysia because it provides the guidelines to the employers of manufacturing small medium enterprises in Batu Pahat, Johor.

Texas State PA Applied Research Projects

Purpose: The purpose of this research is to assess the five Medicaid waiver programs operated by the Department of Aging and Disability Services for adults with physical and intellectual disabilities. This research identifies areas for program improvement by obtaining experience information directly from people who receive services. Recommendations based on the findings are also developed. Methodology: Structured interviews were conducted from May through August 2005 with random samples of people 18 years of age or older receiving services in the Home and Community-based Services (HCS), Texas Home Living (TxHmL), Deaf-Blind with Multiple Disabilities (DB-MD), the Community Living Assistance and Support Services (CLASS), or Consolidated Waiver Program (CWP). A proportional sampling methodology was used for each program based on the number of people receiving services in each county. The questionnaire utilized in this research effort was developed by the Human Services Research Institute (HSRI) in cooperation with the National Association of State Directors of Developmental Disability Services (NASDDDS) and known as the National Core Indicators (NCI) Consumer Survey. Results: Generally, people in all programs participate to some degree in community activities. Most do not feel lonely and the majority receive annual physical exams. Improvements need to be made in all programs in the areas of Self-Advocacy and Choice and Control.

ABSTRACT HIV and AIDS related stigma exists in all levels of society. Rejection, isolation, avoidance, denial, participation, restrictions are common manifestations. PLHIV are not only stigmatized by others but they also stigmatize themselves due to perceived stigma or experience of discrimination, which have serious consequences, such as low self esteem, depression , self isolation eventually low motivation to seek proper treatment. The study shows that fear of contagion, negative attitude as towards PLHIV and lack of discrimination laws are major contributing factors to stigma and discrimination. Lack of or inadequate knowledge escalates the fear. HIV is associated with behaviors that are considered illegal in most societies such as extra-sex work, drug use and sex between men. This adds to the disease’ specific stigma and due these reasons, PLHIV are often rejected or denied to their fundamental rights The impact of HIV and related i is not limited to lowering the quality of life of PLHIV but it is also a barrier in responding to HIV epidemic effectively. Fear of discrimination prevents people from seeking treatment for HIV or disclosing their status openly. This increases further HIV transmission and exacerbates impacts of HIV and AIDS. Stigma is one of the serious obstacles towards achieving the goal of universal access of HIV prevention and cure. Related interventions in the international literature highlights the need for multidimensional strategies to address HIV and AIDS related stigmatization and discrimination through 3 main points; reducing and preventing stigma, challenging discrimination at institutional level and protecting and promoting human rights. Uganda is responding to stigma by implementing interventions such as service provision, media campaigns, empowering and mobilizing PLHIV e.t.c However there is still a big gap in the current interventions. It is recommended that Uganda should respond to stigmatization and discrimination through inter-related approaches by empowering PLHIV, working with and mobilizing family/health care settings, reforming laws and legislations, developing work place policies and imparting Knowledge through IEC and media information communication (IEC).
